CRVS2010 beta - Chart Expert - Data Tab option

Hello,
On the data tab in CR2008 and CRVS2008 there is an option at the top of the tab called Place chart.
The option let you select where in the report to place the chart based on the groups the chart has
I do not see this option in CRVS2010 on the data tab or any other tab.
Was it removed in one of the CR2008 upgrades or just removed from CRVS2010.
Thank you

You say that you see the data tab in CR2008 and CRVS2008. I take that to mean in CPR S2X  and CPR 10.5(?).
As far as I am aware, the chart expert only ships with stand-alone versions of CPR. E.g.; CPR 10.5 (Crystal Reports Basic for Visual Studio 2008) does not have it, CPR S2X  does. CPR 2010 being a specific build for VS 2010, I'd expect it will not have the chart expert and that it will be available on a future upgrade.

  • CRVS2010 beta - chart legend

    Hello,
I created a pie chart with a legend. Usually, when the legend has percents, the last row on the legend has the word "Total" and a percent. The legend has what looks like a field name with underscores.
I right-clicked on the chart and selected chart options - - > general.
Everything on the dialog box has something like "_e_[field name]".
on the chart options submenu, the template and titles options dialog boxes also have the same issue.
Is there some option that I need to change for the dialog box and the title field on the legend to change or is this a bug in the beta version?
I searched this forum for a solution but did not find anything.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Hi Ludek,
I am happy to hear that the chart legend is scheduled to be fixed.
This one was a little scary, because it worked in the prior version of crvs. At first, I thought that there was something wrong with my beta 1 installation.
I didn't realize that the chart component was 3rd party.
    thank you

  • Crvs 2010 beta - Chart shortcut menu issues

    Hello,
In a previus message (see CRVS2010 beta - Chart Options dialog box), I referenced one option on the chart shortcut menu that opens the Chart Options dialog box that was not working properly.
The other 2 other options on the same shortcut menu option open dialog boxes that have the same problem.
When you right-click on a chart, select Chart Options - -> Template (which opens the Choose a chart type dialog box. I only see one tab. In crvs2008, it had 2 tabs, Gallery and Custom) and  Chart Options - -> Titles (which opens the Title dialog box) and you will see what I am referring to.
I'd like to know if all 3 of the dialog boxes that these menu options open, will be fixed when the next beta is released?
    Thank you
    Tracy
I added the names of the dialog boxes that need to be fixed - Edited by: training 2go on Jul 14, 2010 7:04 PM

    Hi Don,
I understand your question, but maybe not.
The chart type doesn't seem to matter. I just opened bar, area and cross-tab chart reports and the problem is there.
Open a report that has a chart.
When I right-click on a chart on the main report window, I see a shortcut menu.
One of the options on this shortcut menu is "Chart Options".
When you hold the mouse pointer over the chart options option, I see three options - template, general and titles.
I am referring to the dialog boxes that each of the 3 options (template, general and titles) opens.
They display the programming name for the field.
For example, if you select the general option, the Chart Options dialog box opens.
Normally, in the title bar you would see "Chart Options". Instead "_ e _ Chart Option _ n _ psedoloc _ " displays in the title bar.
The same issue applies to all of the objects on the dialog box.
I think that this is an easy fix, because the program is pointing to the wrong field in the table, what I call the internal name for the object, instead of what I call the display name.
Let me know if this helps.

    Hi Neha
If the issue is same in SOAPUI and MII then its most probably an issue with the Primavera WS rather than MII Web Service Action.

    Hello,
I noticed a new feature on this tab called "Auto Arrange". I looked in the help file, but could not find any info about it. I've selected the option and re-run the report, but didn't see any changes, so I can't figure out what the purpose of the option is or if it works. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  • Format % in chart label when Data Label Option is 'Show Series and % value'

    I am using:
    OracleBI Discoverer 10g (10.1.2.2)
Oracle Business Intelligence Discoverer Plus 10g (10.1.2.54.25)
I have a report that returns 2 columns 'Repair Status' and 'Count' The graph is a pie chart and I have selected the Data Label Option as 'Series Label and % value'. The percents displayed in the label have no consistent format. Sometimes 2 decimal places, sometimes 4 decimal places. I want the chart label to consistently display the % in the chart label with no decimal, i.e. 96%. How can I accomplish this?

    Hi,
Where you selected 'Select Label and % Value', there is a button at the bottom, Format Data Labels. In there, there is a Number tab where you can play around by selecting Currency, Percent, etc. Have you tried this?
    Cheers.

  • Chart Expert option not working in CR 2011

    Hello,
The Marker Shape option on the options tab on the Chart Expert, does not save the option that you select. For example, if you select the diamond option from the drop-down list, diamond do not appear on the report. This didn't work in CRXI or CR2008 either. Is this on a list of things to fix? There is an option for this on the Chart Options dialog box that works, but it isn't as convenient because I often forget that the dialog box exists.
    Thank you

    Q7

    Hi Tracy,
Looking through Adapt I see this has been tracked multiple times and for multiple types of Charts, sometimes they are fixed, sometimes they are Postponed and some times they are simply marked as will not be fixed.... meaning we don't have control over the bug.
The problem is the Charting Function is a third party dll and they can't fix the issue, so we can't either obviously. There are also two parts to the Charting function, Some part, the general Option is something we can get to but the extended features is something we can't get to through our SDK's.
There have actually begin dropping the Third party dll and we've begun creating our our Java Charting resource. I don't know if there are any plans to port it over to CR 2011 for Windows, it is for the new CR for Enterprise Java Designer.
So unfortunately your only option is to find the work around you did use and make a note somewhere what you did last time....
    Thanks again

  • CRVS2010 beta - Date field from database does not display in report

Hi there - can someone please help?!
I am getting a problem where a date field from the database does not display in the report viewer (It displays on my dev machine, but not on the client machines...details given below)
    I upgraded to VS 2010
I am using the CRVS2010 Beta
My development machine is Windows 7 - and so is my fellow developer's
We are using Microsoft SQL Server 2000
We run the queries within VS and then we send the data table to VS using .SetDataSource
We have a few reports which display the date on our dev machines (whether we run the EXE or from within Visual Studio)
When we roll out to the client machines (running Windows XP SP3) then everything works, except that the date does not display (on quite a few reports)
This is the only real issue I have had - a show stopper for me
The rest works well - any input will be greatly appreciated

  • CRVS2010 Beta 2 Pie chart legend displaying "_e_Total:1_n_pseudoloc_"

Instead of displaying "Total" at the bottom of my pie chart legend I am getting the following text: "_e_Total:1_n_pseudoloc_"
The values and percentages calculate correctly, but the label is unusual.

    Hello,
I have the same problem with my pie chart. My report was fine before I did my update to CRVS2010 Beta 2. I was using crystal report 11.5.
My report is really simple. I have a resume chart that you can drilldown. Each drilldown show the same chart for the selected
    item.

  • CR 9 - Need HELP Setting Line Graph colors in the Chart Expert

    CA Forum: Charts and Graphs
    Hello,
I created a Crystal Report (CR) based off an existing Trend Analysis report. I have created a VB6 application that calls the .RPT file I created for the report in CR.  The VB6 app sets the report recordset via code that corresponds to the .TTX file, and the parameters .  The report contains a Line graph that plots five pieces of data.  The report & graph work good.  The Problem: CR determines the color of each line on the graph.  However, I need to set the color for each line to correspond to the colors used on our existing reports.  The users are accustom to a certain color representing a certain set of data on the existing reports.   I have tried everything I can think of and from all documentation I can find, and nothing changes the line colors.   I have tried all of the following:
1.) From the Chart Expert, Option tab, I click the Format button next to Color and setup conditional color settings per each piece of data.   However, when I run the report these conditional color settings are not reflected on the CR graph.     I am using formula fields (based off database fields in the recordset) to produce the report.  However, I only see the database fields to use in the conditional color formatting screen and not the formula fields.    I thought this would possibly be the cause why the colors wonu2019t change on the CR, but I canu2019t find a way to make the formula fields show up in the list.
2.)Also, I tried right clicking the individual lines of the graph and change the selected item color, but this didnu2019t change the color either.  I do this in Design mode and Preview mode and neither one changes the color of the lines on the graph.
3.)I have also looked into the CR object model to see if I can change the line colors of the graph via code and it doesn't look like I am given this flexibility.
Do you know what I am doing wrong here?   I just want to be able to set the color of each line on the CR graph to the color I want instead of using the default colors.  Are there some Hot Fixes that I need to apply to my copy of CR?
    Thanks

    Hello,
I got the problem fixed w/ the line graph not making the data lines the same color on the report as on the frmPlot graph.   Compare the two screen shots below.   The problem was as follows:  When I created the graph (in the Chart Expert) the field u201CReadingDateu201D was not one of the Report Fields, and all the other fields were Report Fields (Reading, LowAlarm, UpperAlarm, LowerLimit, & UpperLimit). See the 3rd screen shot below.  ReadingDate does show up as a Report Field now but it wasnu2019t at first.   Originally, this field was only available in the Chart Expert as a recordset field.  When I changed this field to be a Report Field, the graph then allowed me to change the data series line colors.   This was not obvious at all.   From the beginning when I setup the graph and passed in the recordset from VB it graphed all of the data series fine.   The colors that the Chart Expert chose for each line just didnu2019t match what was on the frmPlot graph.   Anyway, it is working now.     I can at least say I learned (somethingu2019s to-do and somethingu2019s not to-do) a good bit about Crystal Reports in the process.

Can someone please help me .. how to solve this problem.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi
Check the Data sets of the role you are looking for BP and compare the CRM4.0 and 5.0 systems do compare the dataset changes and also check the field groupings  for BP role in CRM 5.0 system if any field radio button is turned to hide mode change it to optional radio button then save field grouping
then you will see the fields
    reward points if helpful

  • Chart Expert not all formulas appear

    Hi All,
I am trying to chart data that I have on my report but it appears that some of the formulas I use aren't provided as options in the chart expert.
Is this normal or should I have the option to select all of my formulas to be included in the chart?
    Thank you in advance.

This is normal as the print time formulas are not directly visible while charting.

  • Is there a way to bring back the "Open a New Tab" option via right-clicking on the Tab?

I just upgraded to latest version of Firefox (6.0). Yesterday it informed me that an upgrade to Firefox 5.(something) was available and asked if I wanted to upgrade. I went for it. However, I hadn't used it since then till today. Now when I opened it today it asked me if I wanted to upgrade to version 6.0. Without hesitation, I went for it too.
While this version looks nice, it feels a bit odd to use it. Previously whenever I wanted to open a new Tab, I right-clicked on any of the Tabs (active tab or any other Tab) and after right-clicking, it had the option to '''''Open a New Tab''''' along with few other options. Now there's no such option. There's the + button to open a new tab, but what if I want to open a link in a new tab by right-clicking on it? Similarly the option to Open in New Window is also missing.
Is there a way to bring back those previous Tab options/settings? If yes, how?
P.S. In my bookmark toolbar, when I click on a bookmark icon, it has the same options/settings as it previously had in the last version I used (last version I used was 3.something; while I'd upgraded to version 5.something I hadn't used it except for opening the browser when it asked me to upgrade to version 6.0). Options on right clicking the bookmark icon are:
    Open
    New Bookmark...
    New Folder...
    New Separator
    Cut
    Copy
    Paste
    Delete
    Properties
I'd also like to mention here that I know of the shortcut keys; so please don't waste your time by trying to help me that way. Thanks.

No. The Tab bar is a regular toolbar in current Firefox versions, so you get the normal right-click context menu of a toolbar if you right-click the tab bar.
You can double click on empty space on the tab bar to open a new tab if you do not want to use the new tab button.<br />
You can drag a link on that new tab button to open that link in a new tab.<br />
You can also drag the new tab button on another toolbar if you would like that better.<br />
Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"<br />
