Crxf_pdf.dll
crxf_pdf.dll
I'm use "CR XI R2" version 11.5.10.1263
I hope export PDF file, but PDF version is problem:
Use CR XI R2 Version 11.5.10.1263, "crxf_pdf.dll" version is 11.5.10.1263
export to PDF version is "1.3" (Acrobat 4.X)
I use CR 2008 Version (12.0.0.683), "crxf_pdf.dll" version is "12.0.0.683"
export to PDF version is "1.5" (Acrobat 6.x)
my problem is simple modify/upgrade that "crxf_pdf.dll"
copy "crxf_pdf" from version "12.0.0.683" to "11.5.10.1263" replace it.
I was try, but when run CR XI R2 Version 11.5.10.1263, export PDF can't selected "export to PDF"?
any fix please!
Thanks help. I can't know this topic is "SDK" or not.
My problem in general say:
When Install "CR 2008 SP2" , export that PDF file , version is "1.7 (Acrobat 8.x)
but need view that "PDF" file computer, was install "Acrobat Reader Version 5.00 and/or 6.00"
when open it, said "Version is not compatible". If simple, I can upgrade that "Acrobat Reader to 9.x" is great method.
But, I found CR XI, that export PDF version is "1.3 (Acrobat 4.x)
(Q1) In this case, I can replace that "crxf_pdf.dll" to version 2008 ?
mean keyword "Downgrade that PDF export version DLL"
I also found this event
CR Viewer 2008 (r680) , export PDF version is "1.7 (Acrobat 8.X)
CR Viewer XI (12.0.1.r228_v20071114) , export PDF version is "1.4 (Acrobat 5.X)
CR XI R2 sp4 (11.5.10.1263), export PDF version is "1.3 (Acrobat 4.X)
CR 2008 sp0 (12.0.0.683), export PDF version is "1.5 (Acrobat 6.X)
CR 2008 sp1 (12.1.0.892), export PDF version is "1.7 (Acrobat 8.X)
(Q2) Why difference ? Is need downgrade or upgrade that PDF version, how to do it?
Please!

Crxf_pdf.dll appears to cause IIS to crash
When exporting crystal reports to pdf from a web based application using Crystal 2008, the crxf_pdf.dll causes IIS to crash. This happens about once every five times with a particular large report. But it has happened with small reports on occassion as well. We have seen this on several windows 2008 server boxes (IIS7)hosting our website which allows this type of export . Below is the error...
Inw3wp__PID__5036__Date__01_27_2010__Time_12_18_13PM__735__Second_Chance_Exception_C0000005.dmp the assembly instruction at crxf_pdf+1a483 in C:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\win32_x86\crxf_pdf.dll from Business Objects has caused an access violation exception (0xC0000005) when trying to read from memory location 0x00000000 on thread 99
Please follow up with the vendor Business Objects for C:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\win32_x86\crxf_pdf.dll
Any thoughts, ideas or solutions appreciated!
ThanksThis looks like a non issue. Here is what I did to reproduce the issue: 1)I setup a separate website on my server that contained one page that simply exported a pdf report with a press of a button. I brought up two browsers, logged in anonymously to that site. I started the the exports at roughly the same time. The report I created listed several fields out of the db table and would run for about one minute. For the setup described above the reports both finished processing at just about the same time. I tried the same using windows authentication and had the same results. 2) I moved the single web page to my main website, then opened two browsers to the site logged in as my windows user. While my report was exporting in one browser, I could not get to the database with the other browser. Once the report finished, the second browser came up with data immediately.3) I changed the test web page by removing the report export code and adding code to bring back the same records into a dataset. I was able to duplicate the problem this way as well. This took Crystal out of the picture. 4) I created a new windows user on my server and set it up in the development database. I opened one browser with my login and a second browser with the new login. While loading the dataset with the first browser, I did not have any problem accessing the database table with the browser connected as the new user. 5) Finally, I decided to try using the second browser from a remote location. This time I logged both browsers in as my user, but one browser was on a different client. While loading the dataset with one browser the other browser did not have a problem accessing the Account Detail. 6) It appears that when working on a single box with mulitiple browsers logged in as the same user, IIS(?) limits the amount of access as if there was only one instance. So far, I have found no documentation for this, but will include it when I do.
As it stands this does not appear to be a critical issue since it only limits a single user on a single box and does not limit multiple users logged in with Anonymous (for example) from many different boxes. -
Unexpected loading and unloading of BusinessObjects DLL's slows down app.
Hi all,
I have a dev laptop, and a client tabletpc.
In my application I preload a report to get a faster initial view of the report I'm using.
I noticed very slow preloading on my clientmachine. This doesn't happen on my dev. machine.
I did some observations and my true question is: What is going on and how can I fix it??
Extra info:
- Notice the unloading and loading of BusinessObjects dll's that occurs on the client machine but doesn't happen on the development machine.
- I installed CR Runtime 2008 SP1 on the client machine.
- The dev machine has CR2008 installed.
My observations:
The output on my dev. machine during the preloading (truncated because of thread length limitation):

The way I preload:
ht[How to preload the crystal dll's of the CrystalReportViewer?|How to preload the crystal dll's of the CrystalReportViewer?]
Kind regards,
WimHi Ludek,
I found out that the slow loading time was caused by dll's who connect to crl.verisign.net.
Our firewall blocked those requests without response so this caused an additional +-1 min. loading time.
There are also some connections to thawte.com. I'm not sure if they are related to CR. Maybe Janus is the cause of this (also a 3rd party tool I use).
Simular issue: http://bonkel.wordpress.com/2008/11/18/crystal-reports-slow-load-using-net-c-setdatasource/
I found some solutions on the internet (As for our solution: I'm still discussing this internally which will be the best option. Option 2 works ((tested)) but we are evaluating the security issues ...):
There are four possible workarounds to avoid the delays of not being able to reach the certificate provider's server
1. Provide access to the VeriSign web server, by providing an open Internet connection and opening up the system's firewall to allow the VeriSign server query to succeed.
2. Disable Certificate Revocation Checking for the entire system. This can be accomplished by unchecking the "Check for publisheru2019s certificate revocation" option on the Advanced tab of Internet Options. Internet Options can be accessed the Control Panel or from the Tools menu item of the Internet Explorer browser.
3. Manually download the Certificate Revocation List from VeriSign at crl.verisign.com and install it on the system. The CRL is valid only for 10-15 days, so unless the system is able to update the file after this time, the same issue will be encountered in the future.
4. Use versions of the assemblies that are not digitally signed. This is the solution suggested most highly by Infragistics Developer Support. The release build of NetAdvantage for .NET 2007 Volume 1 for CLR 2.0 (version 7.1.20071.40) did not have a non-digitally signed version of the assemblies. Starting with the first hotfix build (version 7.1.20071.1045), the assemblies installed are not digitally-signed, and versions of the assemblies that are digitally-signed are stored in the "ASP.NET\Bin - Signed", "ASP.NET\APTCA - Signed" (for allowing partially-trusted callers), and "Windows Forms\Bin - Signed" subfolders of the installation directory.
As far as I know are the requests for CRL info the true cause of the slow loading (and not the loading/unloading of the dll's itself).
So as far as I'm concerned, this case is closed
Kind regards,
Wim

Error in Crystal Report: Error in File ??:Missing or out-of-date export DLL
Runtime user getting the following error when trying to create a PDF file from a Crystal Report.
Where do I search on the machine for the necessary crystal export dll files?
What are those file names?
What version of those files should be on the machine?
Out of these files, should any be registered?
If so, where in the registry do I check for them?
The CR2008 SP1 runtime merge modules were installed on this client.The files you are looking for are:

The merge modules should have installed those files and registered them though. Did you get any errors on install of the runtime? Can you export to any other format? Are you exporting form the viewer, or using code?

How to find out the differences in minor builds for components?
Hello,
We use crystal 10 included in a vb6 application for reports design and viewing. When we changed our installshield version, for a reason I haven't understood yet, our versions of all the crystal components changed with it. This got identified as a problem with some minor difference in a small bit of functionality, what I'm now looking for is to know what changes were made between the builds for these components. If it's very minor changes that will not affect us we will leave these components as they are, if there are any major changes that will affect us we can either test their impact or make the decision to revert to all the old versions and re-release the software.
I've spent just under an hour looking for the information but to no success, this forum really helped me out before with a weird crystal problem we were getting so thought I'd try here!
These are all from the Ciphr Install\Common\Crystal Decisions\2.5\bin directory.

Create PDF crashes webapplication
Hi,
We have a website that creates PDF-reports using SAP Crystal Reports runtime engine for .NET Framework 4 (64-bit) SP1. The site runs on Windows 2003 R2 x64.
The site (w3wp.exe) crashes every now and then when a report is generated in PDF. We cannot trace it back to specific reports, users or actions. It seems to be random. We don't have this issue on x86-webservers with the same application and CR-version.
We got a memory dump from one of the crashes. The dump can be found [here|http://www.megaupload.com/?d=ZFVJ7FEZ] (zipped, about 330MB). Microsoft already analyzed this dump and this is the conclusion :
Here is my analysis: as you already noted, the stack goes from the SAP component to msvcr80, based on the method name (without the private symbols we cannot see the arguments passed etcu2026) it looks like they are initializing something which requires memory to be moved around, hence the call to memmove_s

First, itu2019s interesting to note that the destination pointer does not look to be valid; the call to msvcr80!memmove_s comes directly from crxf_pdf!UXFInitializeW (there are no u201Chiddenu201D calls in the middle):
0:076> ln 00000000`41d69db4
(00000000`41d68580) crxf_pdf!UXFInitializeW+0x1834 | (00000000`41d6b1b0) crxf_pdf!UXFGetExportFormatsExW
The exception (an Access Violation) is actually thrown in msvcr80 while it is trying to copy the memory as a result of the move call:
0:076> .exr -1
ExceptionAddress: 000000007814e38c (msvcr80!memcpy+0x00000000000001ec)

Unfortunately without the private symbols we cannot see what that memory belongs to.
Anyway since I have access to all Microsoft private symbols, the fact that I cannot find this specific one I think means this is part of the SAP components. I think we can conclude the problem originates from the crxf_pdf.dll and manifests itself in msvcr80.dll because of some wrong parameter passed into that call.
All help would be very much appreciated.
Many Thanks,
ThomasHi Thomas,
Since you have RAS available use this code and test again:
private void ExportToPDFRAS_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
//CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument rpt = new CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument();
ISCDReportClientDocument rcd;
//rpt.Load("c:
Reports
Group.rpt");
rcd = rptClientDoc;
// Declare a PrintOutputController to allow documents to be exported to PDF
PrintOutputController rasPrintOutputController;
CrReportExportFormatEnum rasReportExportFormat;
CrystalDecisions.Shared.DiskFileDestinationOptions diskOpts = CrystalDecisions.Shared.ExportOptions.CreateDiskFileDestinationOptions();
diskOpts.DiskFileName = "c:
reports
reports1.pdf";
// Set the CrReportExportFormatEnum to export the report as a PDF file.
rasReportExportFormat = CrReportExportFormatEnum.crReportExportFormatPDF;
rasPrintOutputController = rcd.PrintOutputController;
// Use the Export() method of the PrintOutputController to export the report to a ByteArray.
ByteArray tempByteArray = rasPrintOutputController.Export(rasReportExportFormat, 0);
Byte[] byteStreamOutput = tempByteArray.ByteArray;
System.IO.Stream oStream;
byte[] byteArray = null;
oStream = rpt.ExportToStream(CrystalDecisions.Shared.ExportFormatType.PortableDocFormat);
byteArray = new byte[oStream.Length];
oStream.Read(byteArray, 0, Convert.ToInt32(oStream.Length - 1));
// this is used to verify the file so I saved it to disk
System.IO.File.Create(diskOpts.DiskFileName, Convert.ToInt32(oStream.Length - 1)).Close();
System.IO.File.OpenWrite(diskOpts.DiskFileName).Write(byteArray, 0, Convert.ToInt32(oStream.Length - 1));
System.IO.File.SetAttributes(diskOpts.DiskFileName, System.IO.FileAttributes.Directory);
oStream.Close();
CR requires contiguous memory space so for large reports IIS may not be able to handle cleaning up it's memory fragmentation when objects are freed up. It's a common problem with Java app's also, Java doesn't have a good memory manager either.
Because of the lack of ability to pass files through Forums I suggest you purchase a support case if you don't have a Support Contract and work with a Support engineer here to debug the problem. We can get the PDB's for those files to you if that helps MS determine what their issue is...
Thanks

Font gets truncated at the end while exporting to PDF
Iam working on Crystal Reports bundled with ASP.NET 1.1
Have installed crystal reports.net 1.1 Patch also which claims to have fixed this issue.
Also have tried installing crnet11win_en_sp2 also. Have checked forcelargefonts option also with both 0 and 1.
Font seems to appear smaller which can be managed by increasing the font size.. Iam using Tahoma 12 font. There is a mild truncation at the end of the line. (.5 of the last character gets lost)
What is the solution to the problem? Should I install PDF writer in the machine. I get the same problem in my production server alsoI have set the forcelargefont property to zero in the registry. Still the truncation happens at the end of the text field if horizontal alignment is "justified"
I found an observation
In PC's with XP version 5.1 (Build 2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr.080814-1236:Service pack 3) the truncation does not happen irrespective of the font size and forcelargefont property though the font size gets reduced.
In PC's with XP version 5.1 (Build 2600.xpsp.080413-2111:Service Pack3) the truncation happens and the font size also reduces.
Is there any issue with Service Pack3 versions.
DLL File versions registered in both the PC's are
crxf_pdf.dll --> 9.1.1.544
crpe32.dll --> 9.1.2.2148
I have updated the latest crystal report patches for .NET 1.1
crnet11sp1 and crnet11sp2 also -

For everyone else that is having this problem...
Still have no response from Business Objects regarding this problem. I demoed software called Visual Cut to use for bursting pdf documents. I went back this morning and looked at it again and it solves the issue. The Visual Cut software allows for exporting rpt files to pdf and the output is exactly the same as the rpt. We have not yet purchased the software, but are planning now on buying it soon. So I can't offer much advice in terms of using the software on a day to day basis, but in the tests that I've done, it solves the export issue and works great in sending pages from a pdf to different printer trays. I also needed support during my testing and the response in three separate instances was less than ten minutes each time.
I still wish Business Objects would step up and fix the problem. If it was a problem in 8.5 and 10.0 - they released a hotfix for 10.0. Then why was it still a problem in 11 (and then no hot fix was provided that I could find) and it is STILL a problem in CR 2008! -
CR XI R2 pdf export font size issue
Exporting a report to PDF using Crystal XI R2 seems to be reducing the size of the fonts. When printing directly from CR and exporting to PDF and printing from the PDF viewer the font sizes are smaller. Any ideas on what I can do to correct the problem?
Please refer following SAP note:

1220516 - Font size decreases when report is exported to PDF from Crystal Reports XI or Crystal Reports XI Release 2
Language English Version 1 Validity: 07.05.2008 - active
Edit Print View Show change log Show Internal Memos
Content: Summary | Header Data | Other Properties
Symptom
In Crystal Reports XI and Crystal Reports XI Release 2 the font shrinks by approximately 10% when a report is exported to Adobe Acrobat Format (PDF).
Cause
This behavior is due to the way Windows and UNIX, and therefore Crystal Reports, handles low point size fonts on a low-resolution screen. Text layout in the absence of a printer driver will consistently be rendered differently than in PDF.
Crystal Reports currently shrinks the font by 10% to prevent any truncation this difference may cause.
Resolution
CAUTION The following resolution involves editing the registry. Using the Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall the Microsoft Windows operating system. Use the Registry Editor at your own risk. It is strongly recommended that you make a backup copy of the registry files before you edit the registry. For information on how to edit the registry key, view the 'Changing Keys And Values' online Help topic in the Registry Editor (Regedit.exe).
To resolve the behavior
Set the resolution of the default printer of the local computer experiencing the issue to 1200 DPI. Most printers have a default setting of 600 DPI.
Create two registry keys to prevent the crxf_pdf.dll from decreasing in font size.
Click Start > Run. Type "regedit". The Registry Editor appears.
Create the following keys for Crystal Reports XI with the defined values:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Business Objects\Suite 11.0\Crystal Reports\Export\PDF\ForceLargerFonts
Type: DWORD
Recognized Values: 0,1
Default Value: 1
Creation Method: manual
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Business Objects\Suite 11.0\Crystal Reports\Export\PDF\ForceLargerFonts
Type: DWORD
Recognized Values: 0,1
Default Value: 1
Creation Method: manual
Set both registry key values to 1 to turn them on.
Create the following keys for Crystal Reports XI Release 2 with the defined values:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Business Objects\Suite 11.5\Crystal Reports\Export\PDF\ForceLargerFonts
Type: DWORD
Recognized Values: 0,1
Default Value: 1
Creation Method: manual
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Business Objects\Suite 11.5\Crystal eports\Export\PDF\ForceLargerFonts
Type: DWORD
Recognized Values: 0,1
Default Value: 1
Creation Method: manual
Set both registry key values to 1 to turn them on.
In UNIX, an X server client such as x-win32 must be installed. Add the keys as follows:
Launch the X server client.
Source <bobje install>/bobje/setup using env.sh (for example: ./env.sh).
Create the registry keys as detailed above.
Restart the Report Page and Cache Servers.
====================
NOTES:
If using Windows 2003 Server, upgrade to Acrobat Reader version 8.0 or higher as well as creating the above registry keys.
Use the appropriate path to access the UNIX regedit as follows:
AIX: <bobje install>/bobje/enterprise115/aix_rs6000/crpe/mw/bin-aix4_optimized/regedit
Sun Solaris: <bobje install>/bobje/enterprise115/solaris_sparc/crpe/mw/bin-sunos5_optimized/regedit
Linux: <bobje install>/bobje/enterprise115/solaris_sparc/crpe/mw/bin-linux_optimized/regedit

PrintToPrinter, ExportToDisk Problem
Hello,
I am using Crystal Reports 2008 inside VS2005 and I wanna get the report in PDF format.
The first thing i tried was exporting the report using the ExportToDisk function. It works ok, but the fonts of the PDF generated werent the same as the fonts i was using in my report and the quality of the images wasnt as good as i expected, they were converted to 256 color images. The result was exactly the same when i was using the Export option from Crystal Interface.
Then i printed the report from Crystal interface using the Adobe PDF printer. I got the right fonts and quality for the images so i decided to implement that in code. Using the code below all the PDF files i got are damaged or at least Acrobat Reader tells me that when opening them and the size of the generated files are much larger than the one i got when directly printing from the Crystal interface (so another thing that makes me thought they are really damaged).
Does anyone could help me to get the PDF?
The code is shown below. I am doing the test with a report with one page with one of the images i am using in my final report.
Thanks very much in advance, Diego
ReportDocument inf = new ReportDocument();
inf.Load(@"C:\Novatia\Proyectos\QH\reports\Test.rpt", CrystalDecisions.Shared.OpenReportMethod.OpenReportByDefault);
inf.SetDatabaseLogon("sa", "XXXXXXXX", @"localhost\SQLEXPRESS", "InformesUF");
//inf.ExportToDisk(ExportFormatType.PortableDocFormat, filename); //The PDF generated is with bad quality
PrinterSettings ps = new PrinterSettings();
PageSettings pg = new PageSettings();
pg.PaperSize = new System.Drawing.Printing.PaperSize("A4", 827, 1169);
ps.PrinterName = "Adobe PDF";
ps.Copies = 1;
ps.PrintToFile = true;
ps.PrintFileName = "C:
test.pdf";
inf.PrintToPrinter(ps, pg, true);
//inf.PrintToPrinter(ps, ps.DefaultPageSettings, true);Well, we have a friend called Diego - he's from Argentina as is my wife, so that was a clue
Ok, now to the issue at hand. I'd like you to do the following as a test:
1) Run the report in the CR designer.
2) Go to the File menu and enable "Save Data with Report"
3) Save the report
4) Go to your .NET app and comment out any database logon code
5) Run the saved data report and export it to pdf
Do you see a better export now? This is just a test. Not exactly sure what we'll get out of it, but it will be a nice piece of info to have.
Next I'd like to compare the dlls that load with the CR designer as opposed to the CR runtime. To that end, I'd like you to download the modules utility from here:
https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100006252802008E/modules.zip
follow these steps:
1) Extract the above file
2) Run the report in the CR designer and export to pdf - leave CR running
3) Start modules
4) Go to the File menu and select New List -> Memory modules
5) Save the file as designer.mdl
6) Run your app and do the export to pdf - leave the app running
7) Go back to Modules
8) Go to the File menu and select New List -> Memory modules
9) Save the file as app.mdl
In Modules, expand the "By Process" node. Find the app exe name. Click on it, the right pane will populate with the dlls loaded. Now, go to the View menu and select Details. This will show you the dlls and their versions and all kinds of other detail. Do the above with the other mdl. You can compare the results manually, or use Modules (Module menu, select Differences). See if the comparison gives you any clues. In particular look at exportmodeller.dll, crtslv.dll and crxf_pdf.dll.
Also, what version of Adobe are you using?

Bug: Temp files with 0-Byte size are not removed after PDF export
Post Author: chaplin
CA Forum: Exporting
When exporting to PDF through the CR-API (CRPE) the temporary files epfHHHH.tmp and ctmHHHH.tmp in the windows temporary path (with HHHH = hexadecimal number with 4 digits) are not deleted when they are 0-Byte in size - even after closing the application which called the CRPE-API. When HHHH reaches its limit (hex FFFF = dec 65535) the Crystal Reports DLLs are not able to create more PDFs - the export aborts with an error and the PDFs are 0-Byte in size.
This behaviour was tested/reproduced with Crystal Reports 8.5, but (as many other long-term bugs) might be also exist in later releases of Crystal Reports as well as on the other SDK interfaces.
KBase Article ID:2009412, Track ID: ADAPT00011016 and Escalation ID: 1472 describes a solution for this problem and Business Objects says that using Crxf_pdf.dll, version 8.6.0.108, dated 04/25/2002 or later solves the problem. We are using a newer one from 2003 (version 8.6.2.429) and still see this problem. It seems that 0-Byte-Files are ommitted from the deletion.
Does anybody know a workaround or solution for this bug?Wendell,
This forum is for handling issues migrating from non-Oracle databases to Oracle databases.
As this is an Oracle to Oracle issue using SQL*Developer export it would be better to open a new thread in the SQL*Developer forum -

Export To PDF in CRYSTAL REPORT XI Release 2
I am using Crystal report XI release 2.
Font Size is decreasing when I am exporting Crystal Report to PDF.
It was working fine previously but i don't know what messed it up. Please help.Hi,
Looks like you already read the steps needed to resolve this from other places. Here it is again incase you miss any part, make sure you follow it exactly.
Create the following keys for Crystal Reports XI Release 2 with the defined values:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Business Objects\Suite 11.5\Crystal Reports\Export\PDF\ForceLargerFonts
Type: DWORD
Recognized Values: 0,1
Default Value: 1
Creation Method: manual
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Business Objects\Suite 11.5\Crystal Reports\Export\PDF\ForceLargerFonts
Type: DWORD
Recognized Values: 0,1
Default Value: 1
Creation Method: manual
Set both registry key values to 1 to turn them on.
Restart the Crystal Reports Page, Job and Cache Servers
Also help if you upgrade your Adobe Reder to version 8 or higher. Let me know if it helps.

Export to PDF changing font size
Hi,
I have gone through the posts on this topic and was wondering if anyone has a formula to predict what will happen to the text or what looks best in PDF?
I am using Arial 10,11 and 12 on some reports and Times New Roman 8, 9, 10 and 11 on others.
The worst effect is that all reports have a group of text boxes on the top right hand corner which have borders.
The reports are basically text documents so have lots of word wrapped text. In CR these paragraphs are close to the right hand edge in line with the text boxes at the top.
In PDF the right hand edge of the paragraph moves in by 3-4cms. Setting the paragraph to Justify rather than left Justify keeps it at the right, but has lots of white space which looks bad.

Crystal Reports 8.5 Export to PDF
Hi,
I am using 8.5 SP 3, crystl32.ocx, VC++ 6.0.
Here is the sample code:
CCrystalCtrl m_RPT;
int iFileType=0;
m_RPT.SetDestination(2); //print directly to file
m_RPT.SetPrintFileName("C:
SAMPLE.PDF");
m_RPT.SetPrintFileType(iFileType);
m_RPT.PrintReport();
iFileType is only valid from 0 to 17 where 17 is the MS WORD format.
I can't get it export to PDF file.
Edited by: Al Koh on Jan 18, 2009 8:39 AMHello Al,
The OCX (crystl32.ocx) is quite old, and was last updated in version 6. The OCX does not support exporting to PDF in code. You can only export from the preview window when viewing the Crystal Report.
I found a Note that was migrated from an old Crystal Kbase article. Here's the content of the Note:
+++++++++++++++++++++
Symptom
An application uses the Crystal Reports ActiveX (OCX) control (crystl32.ocx) as the reporting development tool.
Is it possible (through code) to export to Portable Document Format (PDF) when using the OCX?
Resolution
Exporting to PDF (through code) is not supported with the OCX because:
· The OCX does not contain an export constant for PDF
· The OCX has not been updated since Crystal Reports 6
· Functionality to export to PDF was not fully supported until Crystal Reports 8.5
====================
NOTE:
You can export to PDF using the export button in the OCX preview window. The OCX preview window is able to detect and use the PDF export DLL (CRXF_PDF.dll).
====================
+++++++++++++++++++++
If you need to export to PDF in code you'll need to migrate to the Report Designer Component (RDC), which was available in CR 8.5. You should note that the RDC itself has been retired with the release of CR2008 (v12). If you migrate to the RDC with CR8.5 you won't be able to update your Crystal Reports past CR XI R2 (v11.5) if you migrate to the RDC.
