Cryptic error message: mach_msg (CGXKickEventHandler) failed...
Hey fellas,
when logging off a user on my MacBook, in system.log an error message occurs:
*com.apple.WindowServer[5004]: mach_msg (CGXKickEventHandler) failed (ipc/send) timed out*
This message usually repeats a few dozen to a few hundred times. While this doesn't seem to be a problem, I'd like to know what's going on there...
I found a few posts where people get that same error message, but this doesn't seem to cause their problems.
I'd welcome any further information.
P.S. What is that "CGXKickEventHandler" thingy?

I see that same "CGXKickEventHandler" error in my console.log -- it seems to happen in bursts of a few hundred per second every 15-30 seconds. My console is logging about 4000 records like this in just over 5 minutes. I can't associate it with any particular action, nor does it seem to be having any bad effect (though it must be using up some time).

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

This article has a link for more information on finding your profile directory: [[Fix the "Could not initialize the application's security component" error message]]. On Windows 7, you can try this (either in a Windows Explorer window address bar or from the start menu search box):
%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
You may see one folder in there and that's the one you want. If you see more than one, look for the one with the most recently modified files. -

Thanks for pointing me in the direction of VLC Player. I had no idea what VLC is but it seems a safe (and free) feature. I googled it and downloaded latest version for XP. All DVDs now play perfectly! Still no joy with other players but who cares. Many thanks, full marks. Owen -

Sorry to learn that you are having this issue.
Let's do this 1st
- Reboot the computer.
- Open the browser (Internet Explorer, chrome, FireFox, Safari,Opera ) of your preference and clear cookies and internet (Browsing) history. In the browser of your preference try singing-in or registering to e-print.
If the above did not solved your issue, Please try this;
- Use another browser (Internet Explorer, Chrome, firefox, safari, Opera).
Also this is what I heard from other members of the forum.
I heard here (other members of the community) that there is an issue that engineer are working on diligently that may be affecting this particular process. At the same time I know that other members have some success using this steps aforementioned.

I get an error message that sync failed to start
When I try to sync my Ipod Touch it shows that it is waiting to sync but then I get an error message that sync failed to start. I have tried restore and re starting my computer but I still get the same message, what is going on and how do I fix it? Please help!
Quit iTunes, restart your computer, restart your iPad and try again. If it doesn't work with a restart of the iPad, try a reset of the iPad.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up. -

Try using the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility and delete the iTunes installer. Then try installing iTunes again

For many weeks now, my iTunes has failed to update. I download the updates and they go through the installation process, but then I get an error message that they failed to install. How can I update?
Wild guess but if your WinXP system has formatted your drive(s) as FAT32 then the maximum file size is 4GB. Could be that the download in 1080p is >4GB? (if formatted NTFS then this should not be a problem).
Again just a guess with iTunes on WinXP but something easy to check first. -
After recent itunes update my ipod touch 4 is not syncing properly...I got error message twice "ipod failed to sync properly because connection was lost, please try again"... it continued acting weird, now when i click on "sync now" it says preparing to sync, it goes through steps quickly says sync finished but it doesnt update.. can anyone help?

What's the logic anyway of opening router ports that let my Wi-Fi devices through while refusing a LAN device? What have we got here? A firewall that only protects against cables?
