Cryptowall 3.0 solution to get files back?

Backups or pay, generally.  There are a handful of decrypt tools from AV companies but I believe they're generally for older variants, and only a few of them.

I have a computer that was infected by cryptowall 3.0. I transferred all of my files to an external hard drive, and ran plenty of scans to clear off any infectections. However, my files are still all encrypted and I don't know how to decrypt them. Is there a way to do this or is there a way to recover the files? (Mainly my pictures, word, excel documents, and a few videos).
Thanks in advance for any help.

  • I put photos in trash and emptied it! Can I get files bacK?

I threw my entire photo library in trash (don't ask) and emptied it. I've been trying to recover files with Data Rescue II -- have run it three times and every time, it sticks when I get to "Scanning Drive, Postprocessing CBR Data"
The first time it said: remaining time = 16 mins. 2nd time: remaining time = 18 mins. This time it says: Remaining time about 17 mins.
I started it last night at 10 pm. It's been stuck on "17 minutes remaining" since I got up this morning.
ANyone have any suggestions for getting it to process the hard drive?
Is there any other software I should try? I stopped using hard drive as soon as I realized what I'd done. I backed it up on external hard drive and am running off of that. (I know, I should have backed up BEFORE I deleted everything. Yikes)
    Thanks for any suggestions...!

The File Salvage program is truly a god send. It had been recommended to me and admittedly I was a bit skeptical. Ultimately, I did decide to download and purchase the Sunday morning following my unfortunate mishap and try it.
I am so happy that I did decide to buy and try it.
The downside is that can be time consuming as it automatically assigns new generic file names / numbers to each file that necessitates the user to open each file to determine if it is a file that he/she wishes to rename and save.
The upside is that I got all my files back and of course my sanity, as well.

  • Getting files back from the cloud to my pc

Inadvertantly, many of my files have gone to the cloud and I have no idea as to how to get them back, can someone offer suggestions?

I figured it out.  I forgot to authorize my current computer on MATCH.  Once I authorized my current computer, the cloud icon allowed me to actually download the music I originally uploaded to the cloud.

  • Getting files back after reformating ???

    Hi there !!
Ok I am pretty newb with mac... What i did is: i wanted to make a partition on my HD, so i tried going in to disk utility and creating a new partition and it didn't work... so i inserted my DVD with Snow Leopard in and reset the mac holding a "C" key... It booted from my DVD and i went to disk utility and created partition that i wanted... Restart the mac and it didn't boot, I just had a folder sign with a question mark in it. I try reseting a couple of times, turning it off/on and question mark in a folder was always there... I restart it again holding a "C" key to boot from dvd and i followed the instruction (basically clicking continue) and now i installed fresh version of mac OS X and lost all of my files My question is: Is there a way to get my files back ? If so, HOW ?

    Hi Dadue,
There are Software Programs like Data Rescue 3 that can be use to try and recover data from a re-fromated drive. To use a program like data Rescue 3, you would need an external hard drive of equal or larger size as your built in hard drive. You may want to talk to the company directly to understand exactly what kind of results you would get.
There are also companies you can hire to do data recovery such as Savers.

  • Need Help Getting Files Back!!!

I transferred files to an external hard drive thinking that everything was alright, and after I deleted the files on my desktop and also emptying the trash after that.
When I opened my hard drive, the files were all shortcuts! I don't get it because I did what I always do which is drag and drop. Now since I deleted the files on my desktop and in the trash, is there a way I can get my files back from the computer? maybe third party software?
    Thanks.

Try using an application such as Data Rescue or FileSalvage. Don't write anything else to the drive until the files are recovered or you choose not to recover them.

  • Solution to getting sound back on your videos

The below solution is for Window users. If your Ipod videos were playing fine and then all of a sudden started freezing up and then plays with no sound, this solution will fix the problem. There is a problem with the last Ipod update (1/10). You need to remove that update. Here is how....
    Click Start
    All Programs
    Ipod
    Previous Updaters
    Select the 10/12/05 update
    Then Click Restore
This will remove the last update from your Ipod which is what is causing the video sound problem.
This will also remove all your files from your Ipod and you will have to put all your music and videos back on, but it will fix the problem. My videos are playing fine now. DO NOT INSTALL THE 1/10/06 UPDATE until Apple fixes the problem.
    Hope this helps

Contacts are allowed to be copy into the phone. SMS has some limit.
You can check for the backup file in folder C:\Document and Settings\[user name]\Application Data\Nokia\Content Copier .
p.s. The 'Appliction Data' folder is hidden by default.

  • How do i get files backed up in Time Machine onto a computer with 10.4?

So, i had to downgrade to 10.4 temporarily, will go back to 10.5 very soon, but right now, i have files that were deleted off of my computer, and backed up on time machine. I need a way of getting these files off of time Machine. I checked the time machine folder, the whole folder added up to 7gb, while some of the files i am looking for are 10gb.

You should be able to drag and drop them from the TM backup folder to your Tiger HD. You may have to enter the Admin name/pw combo.

  • My Apple ID is no longer working, what is the cause and solution to getting it back?

A few days ago, my Apple ID stopped working. over the last week, i have been trying to recover thru the normal website process. There are two options on the website - have a temp password sent to your email OR answer a security question in my case BIRTHDATE. When requesting they send a temp password, the procuess would seem to complete, but I never got an email (not in 'junk' folder either). When entering the answer to the secret question, that did not work either.
We have been trying many different tactics and nothing has worked...until today.
We decided to try establishing a new Apple ID. AND we used the same ID. It accepted it! We are now facing issues with finishing the set up of the account thru iStore, we are hung up on the credit card entry (we are living overseas, but entering with valid US credit cards).
Not so concerned about the latter issue. I am worried that we were able to re-establish an Apple ID using the original. The system is treating it as if it never existed.
I've gone thru the community support site, and it seems like others have had similar issues, but in the threads I've read, there never seems to be a resolution to the issue.
    Help!

With the amount of information you've provided it's impossible to offer a potential solution.  We can't see your computer so we need to know some details of your problem and setup, i.e.:
what version of iPhoto are you using?
what system version are you running?
    what fixes have you tried?
    where is you library located?
did you apply any updates or upgrades just prior to the problem occurring?
are you running a "managed" or "referenced" library?
    what type of Mac?
how much free space on your boot drive?

  • I've tried every suggested solution to get Sync back working. What can I do?

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

  • ACCIDENTALLY DELETED USER-  want to get documents back....

If anyone can help, I was working on my daughter's old imac- I wanted to remove her brother as a user as he went away to college and wanted to clean up the machine; I deleted him as a user (she is the administrator) and later found that she had several important documents in his DOCUMENTS folder- I am running the latest TIGER on an old 400MGHZ G3- any way to retrieve these documents? Thanks loads. Ger

In general, no - you can't get files back.
There is an article on how to do this if the files are not truly deleted - look here...
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302150
If you really deleted all files and didn't save a copy - you will probably have to send the drive out to a forensic recovery service. You should shut down and not use the mac for anything if you want to try to recover things that were truly deleted (trash emptied or the program has unlinked the directory entries that pointed to the files in question) - each moment the computer changes data on disk it will make it less likely the "deleted files" remain intact on the disk.

  • Ive tried multiple times on my computer and my internet is fast and perfect but my ipod touch 4th gen will not get past "backing up ipod" it sits there of course itunes 10.5 any solutions ive heard lots of people are having this problem across the board

ive been trying to update since friday my internet is perfect [speedtest.net] itunes just wont get past [backing up ipod[ i hope they fix this soon and i just wanted to see if anybody else was also having this problem because i want the new features coming with ios but its just not working and it took all night just to get roughly to about 20% completion of backing up ipod then when i got home it said "could not restore ipod its still on firmware 4.3.3 so i dont know why it said could not restore i did click "update" but anyway im having this problem and wondering if anyone else is {i think everybodys having problems itunes10.5 right now

I am having the same problem (lost in back-up purgatory) on both my iPhone 4 and my iPad2.  I am running Windows XP.
I have tried everything I've seen suggested on various support communities, with no success.
I have gotten used to having to find a windows workaround everytime Apple updates iTunes, and this time it is especially frustrating.
I don't have any solutions, and I am responding to all of these types of messages in hopes of finding something that will work for me.
One person was able to work through it by deleting all of the previous iTunes backup files.  I'm trying that now.  4 hours into it, and it does not seem to be working......

  • I imported different trips to different catalogs on different external hard drives.  Later renamed external HDs.  I want to combine catalogs and have my source (NEF) files all together on one drive.  I'm not really sure how to get those source files back

I imported different trips to different catalogs on different external hard drives.  Later renamed external HDs.  I want to combine catalogs and have my source (NEF) files all together on one drive.  I’m not really sure how to get those source files back and get rid of the extra long path to where the source files are now located. If I re-link files to their current catalog (many different paths to files in same catalog) can I merge (import catalogs) into one master catalog?  Will the new (Master catalog) have the correct link to the source file?  If not, how or can this be done?
I have tried to explain my situation as clearly as I can.  Do you understand my situation?
This maybe something you don’t have time to help me with.  If not can you suggest somewhere I can get an answer?  I really need help.  PLEEEZZZ HELP ME.

Is there any solution (other than buying
I really think 'buying' is the best solution on this one.  Ideally, you would have at least five internal hard drives.
    System
    Projects
    Cache/Scratch
    Media
    Exports
Use externals and network drive only for backup.

  • Need to get file name and directory back from file adapter - WRITE

I am using the file adapter to write a file. I want to log the file name of the file we just created. Since we use a precise timestamp in the file name, I can't accurately guess.
I have an invoke in my BPEL process to the file adapter. My first try was to assign the jca.file.FileName property to a variable, but it never comes back. I looked around and saw plenty of ways to SET the file name for a write and GET the file name for a read, but no GET file name for WRITE.
    Anyone have a solution?
    Thanks in advance!

I think I got your point... You can tell FileAdapter the filename to write, but if you don't then FileAdapter can not tell you the filename that it wrote... I think it is pretty possible Oracle didn't implement the latter, as the write operation is probably asynchronous and the filename is calculated later on...
If what you want is just log, you may achieve your requirement by increasing verbosity on Adapter logs... Have a look at the link bellow...
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E15586_01/integration.1111/e10226/ad_mon.htm#CJHHBBID
Otherwise, the solution for you will be to calculate filename yourself, and that will be a little bit of reinventing the wheel... But at least you will know the filename...
    Cheers,
    Vlad
