Crystal 10 RDC Save Copy of Report opened by the Viewer

Anyone know the setting in the RDC that will allow me to save a copy of the report that is being opened by the viewer? Years ago I used this for troubleshooting reports where we were dynamically setting the datasource paths. When a report was opened in the Crystal Viewer it would save a copy of Report.RPT to a specified directory after setting the datasource paths and if any path issues occured and the report errored out we could open the copy (Report.RPT file) and see what the datasource paths were changed to when the report was opened and figure out if they were set correctly or not. I can't find the setting I used before.

There are two ways of saving a loaded report;
1) Export to rpt
2) report.saveAs
Both should give you the info you're looking foe.

How can i force a mail link to open in the viewer and not in the Mail App?

Hello to everybody!
I've a trouble about the mail links in a digital pubblication. I've to force a mail link to open inside the viewer.
A normal mail link causes the exit of the app and switch into the iPad Mail App... Is it possible force to open the mail link inside the folio with the DPS?
I've seen other digital pubblication made outside the DPS that can open the mail tab of the Mail App without exiting the starting App...

You can't with DPS, it will always launch the mail application registered with the operating system.

Oracle Reports: Opening within the same browser all the time

Hi there,
I am running Oracle Report 10g using Oracle AS 10.3.
The report output is PDF to a browser.
Each time I run the report, it opens within the same browser.
Is there an option to open the report in a new browser all the time.

I guess you run the report from a form using WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT? If so, use '_blank' as second parameter, this will open the given url in a new window.
btw.. if you use forms to start a report you may consider to use RUN_REPORT_OBJECT to start the report instead of using the url-syntax.

How can I save multiple tabs to open at the same time?

Hi,
I have a set of websites that I need to access regularly and I'd like to be able to open all the tabs in a window at the same time rather than clicking on each one individually. I know this was possible in previous safari versions but I can't figure out how to do it in Yosemite (v8).
Can someone walk me through how to do this please? I've googled this but haven't been able to find an answer for this latest version of safari.

App tabs will not save. when close then open ff, the app tabs are gone. how do I save them?

Every time i set up some app tabs, they disappear when I close ff. So upon reopen, have to set them up again, just to disappear again when i close ff. I thought once setup, they stay until deleted. Am I wrong on this? If they are supposed to show up after closing, it is not working on my pc. Running windows xp service pack 3.

The add-on "app-tab initializer" 0.2 fixed it for me. You define your preferred app tabs and it opens them each time firefox is launched.

Save data to a table (In the View method)

 I am new to Webdynpro.We have a requirement in BW to update user config tables using webdynpro.I got the retrieve data part working.
Now I am trying to save data back to the table.I got the following code in the save method which will be called when the save button is clicked.

Adobe pdf printer save dialog box opens in the background - progress bar shows Not Responding

I have two users who have Acrobat X Pro version 10.1.4 that are experiencing the same things. First, one person just changed laptops and the new one has a fresh Windows 7 Enterprise X64 image and new installation of Adobe Acrobat X Pro. When he used the pdf printer for the first time(after opening the program and accepting the license agreement) he was in MS Excel '07 and chose file>print>Adobe PDF and then the progress bar came up and then showed not responding. After he did this a couple of times with me standing there I noticed that the save dialog box was opening in the background because I could see the icon blinking on the taskbar. He said that his old computer never did this and that it would always open up and ask where to save the file and never show 'not responding' on the progress bar. The other person having the same issue is running the same version but she has had the program installed on her machine for a few months and an older version on before that.
Is there a way to make the dialog box show as soon as you print to the Adobe PDF printer? What is causing this? Is there another way to create a pdf from MS Office like the add-on?

Task List URL (to FR Report) opens in new window, but not for all users!

I am not sure if this is the correct forum to ask the question (for me it looks like an IE topic), but perhaps anybody can help me anyway...
In one of our Planning apps (9.3.1) we defined several task lists and tasks that link to relevant FR Reports (URL Tasks). If I open the URL task in basic view the relevant FR Report opens in the same IE Window (in the main frame of the planning app). If my colleague opens the same task the FR Reports opens in a new IE Window.
My problem is that I dont have any ideas where I can set the relevant property. Is that a planning property, a workspace property or an IE property setting??? Where can I adjust the settings that for ALL users the URL opens the Report in the same window??????

P.S.: We are on IE8.

Have you both got the same settings in Tools > Internet Options > Tabs Settings
There was also a bug though I can't say if it is related to your issue

VB6 Crystal Reports 8.5 - RDC Component to Export Reports To Printer

Hi,
We have an application written in VB6 that uses the RDC in Crystal Reports 8.5 to export reports the printer. We are currently making some security changes to lock down several of our servers. Currently our custom print queue for Crystal runs in windows services as administrator. All the printers are installed as administrator. As soon as we change our application to run as a different account (ie. CrystalService) it no longer can find the printers. I was wondering if there is a way for the windows service to recognize the printers installed as administrator without re-installing all printers on all servers as the new user Crystal Service.

Other than re-installing under the new user account you can search Microsofts web site on how to change printer permissions. There is an article there that explains how to copy the Printer registry keys into the local user account.
Then it should all work for you, this is all a Windows permission issue, not a Crystal Reports Issue.

I configured crystel reports to open in preview insted of PLD for documents,
but it is asking parameters of the documents to be opened coz i have created parameteries crystal report,
Means it is open whatever i have created in crystal report.
But i want to open my crystel reports on preview directly insted of PLD
with the same form reference.
Means like PLD is opening preview directly whatever number form is open.
Suppose in Sales Oreder form is open in that 5 no's Sales Order is there and then
when i click on Preview that time only 5 no's PLD Preview is open.
Like that i want to open Crystal Report.
How to get that no's reference to crystal report ?

When I run a report from a certain website, it is in Excel format. Currently I have only the option to save it. I also want the option to open it. How do I get this option back? [SOLVED]

In IE, when I run these reports, I have the option to Open, Save, or Cancel. In Firefox it just goes directly to a folder to Save, there is no Open option, which I need. I want to view the report immediately, not save it.

I figured it out - Tools, Options, Applications. For Excel, change to Always Ask.

I am using Report Builder 11.1.2.1.0, and I am calling a report from Form.
If I run/call report on my own pc it opens perfectly in browser (pdf format), but if same report is opened on client pc, it opens Save As dialogue box and asks user to save the report.
Can you please let me know, how can I achieve to open a report in browser on client's pc, without opening Save As Dialogue.

That is probably because the user's browser does not support opening a pdf document.
Most browsers support pdf, some need a plugin. Check what happens with any other pdf document on the web that you want to open on the user's PC, like http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E16655_01/server.121/e17643.pdf

Without knowing exact technical details, nobody can say anything. From genuine issues with your storage devices like block errors or fragmentation to specific security stuff causing delays and blockages in writing files anything is imaginable. Your info is simply insufficient to make even a superficial diagnosis beyond those generics.

Pass Order Number Parameter to Report then Save Copy as PDF to Folder Location

I have a 2010 database where I've created a report that I would like to be auto-printed to a PDF file. When a user finishes and submits an order I need for my report called "rptOrders" (which displays a summary of the order) to auto-print
in PDF and saved to an archiving folder location.
One thing to note is that when the "rptOrders" report is opened it displays ALL the orders in the database; but I need this process to pass the parameter of the order number from the form to the report so that only the single report that is open is
printed in PDF.
The process of pushing the PDF report to a folder would need to be performed without prompting the users. It needs to be automated and
seamless. The users are aware of this automated process will be done, they just don't have a need to have any prompts impede their workflow.
Any solutions, thoughts or tips would be very much appreciated!
