Crystal 11 and graph transparency

I'm having an issue with a stacked bar chart which I am using as a cheats way of getting a waterfall chart since there is no such chart type in Crystal.
I want to make the bottom part of each stack transparent, I can go into the Format Series Riser screen and set the foregrond colour to Transparent and In the little preview box on the format screen it shows that it changes to transparent.
However as soon as I save out of the format screen the graph it's self hasn't changed and if I then go back into the format screen the colour has switched back to white.
I've installed the latest updates but this still doesn't fix it, is it possibe to change the riser to Transparent?, if not why is the option displayed?

hi Ian,
i see that no one has responded to your forum post...is this still an issue?
i have seen in the past where a certain number of edits to a chart will cause certain changes after that not to be saved with the chart.
do you have the latest fix packs to see if that addresses the issue?
if you have the latest fixes, i would recommend just building a new chart as a test. transparent risers do in fact work as i use them all the time.

I am developing a Visual Studio .net 2005 Windows Form,i have a sql table with 2 field:1) DATA (date and time)2) Temperatura (numeric)I have to make a line graph with numeric data axes.I have insert two parameters' to customize the filtering, so i can have a graph of the temperature between to date and time.If i choose two date's and time (parameters) like 20/04/2008 00:00:00 trought 20/05/2008 00:00:00 i have no problemBut if a choose a range minor of 1 day (some hours like from 15/05/2008 00:00:00 trought 15/05/2008 08:00:00) i have no graph.It sound like it don't use the time values?Thank's for the Help.

There is some debugging info on the website. I've had problems getting the text to work. It was generally that I installed either the wrong 'version' of ImageMagick (the recommended one works for me--I'm running Vista x64 and one time installed the x64 version and it didn't work). I also installed Ghostscript to get the font list to work correctly. At one time I installed the x64 version of Ghostscript and it didn't work with the plug-in, either.
I installed two items:
ImageMagick: ImageMagick-6.4.9-3-Q16-windows-dll.exe
Ghostscript: gs863w32.exe
I don't know if it is necessary but I also added the fonts from
ghostscript-fonts-std-8.11.tar.gz to the c:\Program Files (x86)\gs\fonts directory. Some, none, perhaps all, may already be installed just by installing ghostscript--it has been so long that I don't remember exactly. I do know that the contents of the gs fonts directory contains all the files in the .gz, I just don't remember if I put them there separately or as part of the gs install :)
You need to make sure the font size is large enough. I usually use about 2-4% of height and export a single photo to make sure I see the text correctly.

Hyperlinks do not work when exporting to PDF (Crystal and Visual Cut)

I have a question about Crystal Reports XI Release 2 and Visual Cut 11. I create reports in Crystal and export them using Visual Cut. Some reports contain hyperlinks to files on a network drive. However, the links only work while in Crystal. The PDF files that are printed through Visual Cut display the links, but they are not clickable. How can this issue be fixed?
In case it helps, the links also work when I export reports from Crystal to HTML, Word, and Excel, but not when I export to Acrobat. I believe it is a problem with tagging/accessibilityfeatures. So is there a setting/formula in Crystal or Visual Cut that would allow the exported PDF files to be accessible?

While Crystal exports to pdf indeed lose hyperlink functionality (both in Crystal as well as in Visual CUT), Visual CUT allows you to use Crystal formulas (acting as hidden Tags) to create hyperlinks in the resulting pdf file. Another option supported by Visual CUT it to automatically detect file references in the pdf text and turn them into hyperlinks. Contact MilletSoftware for more detail.

SSO for prompts with Crystal and BW in BO XI 3.1 SP3

Hello together,
i have a question regarding Crystal and SSO based on a Bex Query.
I created a Crystal report based on a Bex Query.
Saved this to BW und published it with the BW Publisher to BOE (SAP Int. Kit is installed).
In the Cmc i set the report to SSO for prompts.
I logon to BOE with my SAP User and Password.
Try to run the Crystal.
Unfortunately it does not work, i get an logon error message for the Database.
Can somebody help me why this happen?

It is no error, it is just the Database Logon

But how can i avoid this Logon und use SSO?

Crystal XI Graph floating bar problem-needs to be like a gantt w/o the date range

Here is my problem I have a min and max range of numbers(not a date)I need plotted along with a value in between the min and max date. All this data, the 3 fields come from sql 2005/vb.net 2005. So, the data is set. I tried a line chart and i got 3 squares with no line, I have the chart under a group on my report. I tried a bar chart but I don't want the graph line to start at the edge of the graph. I tried to stack the bar and then set the min and max colors to white so that I would only see the value line but that did not work either. I have an example of what it should look like but can't upload it.
so my min is 1.5 max is 5.6 and actual num is 4 I hope this crude example helps.

I was able to use a Gantt, then right clicked the dates and selected data (Y) axis options, and clicked on the show axis labels.   Not sure if this will work for you or not. I ignored the errors about "Gantt charts require 'For each record' and 2 date fields under 'Show Value(s)" If that doesn't help, there may be another way to resolve the issue.

How to maintain gap between table and graph in a report

I have a report in which a graph is placed below a table and data in the table gets increased with time , then how to maintain the gap as constant between table and the graph ?? Like i have 50 rows in a table and then next day 10 rows are added but then i want maintain same gap between the table and graph???

How to group Table and Graph in the same section in OBIEE 11g

I have a requirement of showing the table and graphs together for various products in different section. For example, for Product A, the table and graph would be displayed together and after product A, the table and graph for product B should be displayed.
I have tried using section but it creates the seperate section for tables and Graphs. Is there a way that we can put the section on table and graph together.

By any chance are you using a pivot table? If so, you can "Graph Pivoted Results". (When you're editing the pivot table, it's the last button at the top/middle of the page.) Then you can use the products column to break the pivot into sections and you'll have a pivot table and graph per section.

I have a neslab chiller and want to read the temperature by sending ASCII characters and graph the results, any advice?

I am having difficulty having the chiller recognize (RT[CR]) which is the signal recognized by the chiller to read the temperature. The signal that is returned is (xxx.xx[CR]) which is the temperature. I am attempting to be able to read the temperature and graph this vs time and possibly be able to change the setpoint as well from the UIR.

I agree with Randy that Hyperterminal is a good starting point to test cabling and communication.
In your program, be careful to serial port initialization (how to set baud rate, parity, data bits and stop bits depends on the language used) and to termination character ([CR] means Carriage return: if you are usng CVI it DOESN'T add CR to the message unless you esplicitly put it in).
Another interesting point is the time the instrument takes to respond to the message: it can vary from message to message and is usually described in the instrument's documentation. If you test for a shorter time, you catch a false 'no response'. You could make a while loop and test in it the number of bytes received, then decide whether to end the loop for timeout or answer recei

ABAP dictionary : can we delete and recreate transparent table

Hi Experts,
I would like to know if we can delete and recreate transparent table which had already been transported to another server? Will it create any other problem?
The reason why I want to do this is that I want to transport the table contents and the table was earlier created under the class 'Application table' . Now I want to create it under 'Customizing table' class.

I think you can change the table's Delivery class in SE11.
Than you can add your entries in the transport request.
Follow these steps:
(1) Create a transport request
(2) Open it, update mode
(3) Add a line with R3TR TABU <table name>, select the line created
(4) goto Menu, Key list and add the two keys list you have created (* is wildcard, mandt+key)
(5) Save, release and transport your request
No need to delete and regenerate it.

But there is a problem.The image of alpha Channels in proxy is not clear, because overlay[i].opacity = 50 * 2.55.
It looks like diffrent from displaying in photoshop.I do not know how to use pixels.mat and pixels.masks.

Are you using the Word Report Generation instrument? You can find it in toolslib\activex\word\wordreport.fp under the CVI directory.
The instrument comes with a sample project that shows how to include table and graphs in a Word document: see samples\activex\word\wordrpt.cws in the samples foder of your CVI installation.

Charts and Graphs using OAF---New Module

Hi All,
I have a doubt in creating Chats and graphs!!!
I have different organizations in my table, In that i have to select one organization manually using Lov item..... for that particular organization i need to get Graph ( May be Pie or Bar type). How to obtain this model page...
In tutorial exercise we do-not have option for selecting some organization and getting the graph for that... we have got option only for all the details of the employee table...
How to obtain this module... Please help me out in this issue!!!!

How do I open png files and maintain transparency? I have many image files I had hoped to manage with aperture along with my photos. I find that it wants to display them with a black bacground( they were designed for white) and when I want to edit that is kept even when I open with a psd format. What do I do?

Transparency and layers are not supported in Aperture. You can import png-files or psd files with a transparent background and export the originals unchanged, but as soon as you edit them, the transparent background will be lost.
Aperture is an application to manage photos and not graphics compositions, sorry.

Are the Data Visualization and Graphs for JSF included in this release. I saw the demo here http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/11/index.html and want to try it out. But I could not seem to access it in the tool.
