Crystal 2008 crashes when going to print

Hello
I have had Crystal 2008 installed on my PC for some time, working perfectly. Now after two days off it crashes ("crw32.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience etc) whenever I select File/print or file/page setup.
It does not let me get as far as selecting a printer.
I can export in any format.
I also have Crystal installed (for the past year), and have no problems with this.
Any help would be greatfully appreciated

Hi Kathleen
Are you using Dual Monitor with Crystal Reports?
- Because Crystal Report dosen't support Dual Monitor.
The mentioned error occurs because of below reasons:
1)If the DEP option is not checked.(How to check that?)
Right Click My Computer ->Properties->Advance Tab->In Performance Pane Click on Settings->Click on Data Execution Prevention(DEP).
2)It is possible that crw32.exe is corrupt so for that you need to manually uninstall the Crystal Report because through Add/Remove programs it doesn't delete all the file.
Hope it will help You.
Regards
Asha Lund.

  • Crystal 2008 crashes when trying to print

    Hello,
I am unable to print from Crystal 2008; the program crashes and I get the error crw32.exe
I have disabled the DEP in my computer.
I have installed the SP1 of Crystal 2008.
I have uninstalled the SP3 of Windows XP.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Crystal.
    I have reduced hardware acceleration
I have event viewer errors for two DLL files ntdll.dll and csprintdlg.dll but cannot register
The printing issue is from a client computer. I can print from the server.
    Thank you.

I followed these instructions to manually uninstall but had issues listed below:
    Hi,
    Below are the steps for
'How to manually uninstall Crystal Reports 2008 '
Before getting started, uninstall Crystal Reports 2008 by launching the Setup.exe file from the installation CD or by using the 'Add/Remove Programs' command. If either of these methods fails to remove all Crystal Reports directories, files and registry keys, then continue with the resolution of this article.
    WARNING
This resolution can be applied if Crystal Reports 2008 is the only software installed on the computer that uses the Business Objects directories, files and registry keys.
For example, Crystal Analysis, Crystal Enterprise and BusinessObjects Enterprise XI are applications that may share the same directories, files and registry keys.
Removing these directories, files and registry keys may cause other software to function incorrectly.
    1. To manually uninstall Crystal Reports 2008, delete the following directories:
    " C:\Program Files\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0
    " C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Common\4.0
    NOTE:
Do not remove the directory C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Common\4.0 if you have BusinessObjects Enterprise XI or Crystal Reports Server XI installed. These files are shared by both applications and removal of these files will cause Business ObjectsEnterprise XI and Crystal Reports Server XI to function incorrectly.
    2. Delete the following registry keys:
    WARNING:
The following resolution involves editing the registry. Using the Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall the Microsoft Windows operating system. Use the Registry Editor at your own risk.
    HELP:
For information on how to edit the registry key, view the 'Changing Keys And Values' online Help topic in the Registry Editor (Regedit.exe).
    RECOMMENDATION:
It is strongly recommended that you make a backup copy of the registry files (System.dat and User.dat on Win9x computers) before you edit the registry.
    " HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ Software \ Business Object \ Suite 12.0\ Crystal Reports\
    " HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Business Objects\Suite 12.0 \ Crystal Reports\
    NOTE:
After making changes to the registry, restart the affected service or application as required.

ISSUES I posted and did not get a response to:
Not only did this not solve my printing problem in Crystal, but now Peachtree will not run either.
I did not have the file:
    " HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ Software \ Business Object \ Suite 12.0\ Crystal Reports\
I deleted this "crystal reports" folder in this extension:
    " HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Business Objects\Suite 12.0 \ Crystal Reports\
In both the "local machine" and "current user"\Software files there is a "Crystal Decisions" folder. Does this need to be deleted as well?
    Please advise. Thank you.

  • InDesign CS5 Crashes when Going to Print...

I have installed CS5 on my iMac and updated to 7.02 and running OSX 10.6.4 everything appears to functioning fine except when I go to print a document it crashes every time. Not only that when I try and Load my saved Printer Presets it crashes then too :-(
I have dumped my preferences for Version 7.0 but still it's happening. I've read quite a few posts about it crashing on startup but none anywhere about crashing on print. I've never had this problem with CS4
    Can anyone help?
    David Jenner

Thanks Paolo, I'm pleased you've managed to solve it by reinstalling your printers.   Did you install all four printers in one go or did you do one at a time testing the Print command in ID along the way? I'm wondering if it could be just one printer causing the problem. I too have four printers so maybe I'll do the same as you to get it working. I'm thinking maybe the print command might work if I just disconnect my reprinters from my Mac. Can I ask how you went about reinstalling your printers? Did you just delete them from the printer list and reinstall through there or did you install from CD?  I'm in Paris at the moment but as soon as I'm back I shall give this a go.   David

  • Microsoft Office 2008 crashes when printing since upgrading to Yosemite

Ever since upgrading my Macbook Pro (late 2009) to OS X Yosemite I'm having trouble with Microsoft Office 2008. Whenever I try to print from any of the Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), the program will crash and the file will not print. I am still able to print from other programs (Safari, Preview, etc...). And aside from this I'm having no other issues with the Office programs. So at the moment I'm reducing to having to save files as a PDF and then printing from Preview. Can anyone help me troubleshoot?

I'm not sure if the printer driver is updated, it usually does that automatically...
That sounds magical but I have never had printer drivers automatically update themselves. After your upgrade to Yosemite, did you setup your printer using Print & Scan in System Preferences?
...office programs are the only ones crashing when I try to print, so wouldnt that indicate an Office issue rather than a printer driver issue?
No, not necessarily. See thread "microsoft office crashes when trying to print."
If you believe the your problem is an "Office issue" then you might try the Microsoft forum.

  • Crashing When Attempting to Print - Workaround for some

I am running the latest Leopard and all of the Apple software as well. Tried to print from Pages and it shuts down. Saved the files as a PDF and opened in Preview, it shuts down. Adobe Acrobat shuts down. Any application that can open a PDF will crash on this Pages document. Opened in Graphic Converter and it prints fine. I don't work nor do I have any interest in Graphic Converter. Just letting people know that at least for me. GC was able to print a document that I spent a lot of time on and was due to my customer today and that NO OTHER program could print it. After seeing so many people with printing problems, I hope that a real solution will be found and not this work around.

Still having same issue... Crashing when trying to print from any application.
I did get a message now though...
    "The Application Numbers quit unexpectedly.
The problem may have been caused by the NSPrintSetting Plug-in"
I Googled this "NSPrintSetting Plug-in", but didnt find much. It may be related to Epson however.
    Im afraid I am going to have to do a clean install. ;-{

  • Framemaker 12 unstructured  version 12.0.2.389 crashes when trying to print

I have a couple of clients in different companies whom I try to help with FrameMaker related problems on a consultancy basis. They have upgraded to FrameMaker 12 and are now experiecing some problems regarding print. Framemaker 12 unstructured version 12.0.2.389 crashes when trying to print. Sometimes the print dialogue opens when they try to print to pdf and then FM crashes after a little while, but often merely trying to reach the print dialogue makes FM crash. They are both having Acrobat set up as default printers and they are both printing across networks. And they are both having slightly older Acrobat versions than the one coming with latest Technical Communication Suite. I somehow suspect the trouble being related to either printing across networks or the version of Acrobat, but have not been able to solve it. Any ideas anyone?
    regards
    Bjørn

I'm experiencing the similar crash since yesterday. The FM I have is v12.02.389, and I'm authoring in unstructured mode as well. I'm wondering if this was the same issue but I'd like to describe this error here rather than create a new but possibly a duplicate post.
    FM version: 12.02.389
Internal Error Code: 12024, 24704628, 24704922, 27638133 (I was kind of surprised that four errors came all at once! Man, that's a whole bunch of zombies!)
    Repro:
    1. Open an existing fm file with more than 3 pages. (The reason of doing so is I was about to print page 64 to 69 of this chapter to PDF)
    2. Go to Print Setup > Properties, disable the "Rely on system font...".
    3. Save the changes then go back to File > Print and set the pages to be printed(say, 64 to 69).
    4. Click Print.
Then I saw the progress bar moving but when it reached to the end, a prompt message box came up saying something like  "Framemaker 12 closes due to Internal error 12024, 24704628, 24704922, 27638133".
I'm wondering if it's a bug or it crashes due to some improper settings? The FM12 was doing OK in the past. I've no idea what's going on. I was trying to look for the troubleshooting guide or similar stuff which might allow me find out the solution based on the error codes presented in FM12, but all the search ended up in vain.

  • Firefox 31.0 bug - FF crashes when trying to print Amazon web pages

Using Mac OS 10.6.8. Firefox crashing issue just started occurring for me after updating to FF 31.0 on 8-5-14. Prior to that FF has always worked perfectly for me with no printing issues or any other issues. Luckily FF does not crash when printing anything else. All other web pages work well so far except for Amazon.
Tried many different listings on Amazon but I get the same result; instant crash. Command P brings up the Print Window successfully, but as soon as I make the choice to Print, Preview or Save as a pdf, FF crashes. (By the way, my Safari browser works perfectly when printing these same web pages on Amazon. No crashes.)
Tried every single one of the Help suggestions regarding the printer settings, preferences, and other help suggestions for crashing issues but they made no difference at all. Cleared my FF cookies and cache, cleared my system and user caches, updated Flash Player and checked that all plugins were up-to-date, ran Disk Utility to repair permissions, and reset PRAM, but no luck.
Decided to reset FF last night but that resulted in no change at all. FF still crashes when attempting to print from Amazon. I reported this issue to Amazon, and they said they would contact Mozilla about it too. Thank you.

  • Firefox crashes when trying to print a certain page

I process orders placed on our web site. As soon as I updated to v6.0 and then V6.0.1 at a particular page when I need to print out invoices (and only on this page - I print two other pages as well during the processing) firefox crashes when trying to print all, print one page or print preview. It is not every single time but most times. I never had this problem in any earlier version.
It happened in safe mode as well.
If it wasn't for the group tabs which I love in v6 I would go back to v5.0 as it is quite inconvenient and costs me extra time to have this happen. I have to display each of the invoices individiually and print them which never causes a crash.
    I have submitted fourteen reports:

Photoshop CS5 crashes when trying to print. I recently updated to Mac OSX Mavericks. Help?

Hi, Chris. Thanks for giving this query a look. I have the same problem. All documents print on my HP Deskjet 932C except Photoshop files since I updated to Mavericks.
    My CS5 version is 9.0 x64. Mavericks is 10.9.4.
I checked the HP drivers and HP doesn't have one for OS X newer than 10.4.
I tried printing out the detailed report (very long!) and this page rejected the reply as spam. Can we provide the text as an attachment?

    DariusT,
This may sound elementary but I turn off all print spoolers - print monitoring, background printing, etc. - as the very first test. This eliminates a whole class of issues, including some memory related questions.
The version of the operating system can also be a factor. If you turn off the printer, delete laserwriter 8 preferences, turn on the printer, select the printer in chooser and try printing again you may solve some problems.
You posted your question in the old folks home. Are you using an old computer? An iBook G4 processor is as new as a Mac Mini so I am assuming that this is a question that predates OS X. If this is an OS X printing problem, we need to shift mental gears or you may want to post your query again in a more modern forum. Post back will more details and we will try and help out.

  • Pages '09 crashes when trying to print

    hello...please help me!
Have had iWork '09 for about four months now....and just yesterday it started to crash when i press print. it happens every time. it does not give me a crash log....just says this application has closed unexpectedly and that osx will not be affected..and give me the option to try again, reopen, or close. please help.... i need this program for school....aarrrrggggghhhhh!

and this is well understood....but it has worked flawlessly until now....but i had a deeper problem which i believe was the underlying cause. i could not repair my start-up disk, ran disk utility from boot up cd rom, encountered an error....and then my hard drive unmounted....and then it would not remount...and so my computer would not boot from drive, which was awesome, not really. so long story short, i had to format and reinstall os x and start from scratch.
but i do believe the memory requirements are for keynote...because i have ran numbers and pages infinite times with no problems.....i am even running multiple apps while doing so...which would also tax the memory...so i am not sure the memory is the issue...although logic would assume it is. but thanks for the response...i haven't tried the program after the re-install ( have yet to add my windows networked printer....so hopefully i will not need anymore advice.
but thank you for your reply
