Crystal Cover for Nokia 6030

Hi Bros,
I am new to this forums. I am using Nokia 6030 with CrystalCover(Class Cover). I was told by some that , Should not use covers for Mobile . It will preserve the waves within the cover. How long it is true ?
Thanks
Dana

preserve the waves?
i don't quite understand that?
there are no know issues with crystal covers except the following: (by expereince that is...)
1) crystals tend to scratch the covers
2) crystals will break easily
3) crystals are a waste of money

    hi mate,
    i am not sure Nokia officially or any other companies make cases for low-end Nokia devices. you can contact Nokia directly by clicking the Nokia Support link at the bottom of this page, to see if they can help you out, otherwise Google will be your friend in this case.

  • Will the CC-3061 protective cover for Nokia Lumia ...

    My question is, like written in subject, if the CC-3061 ever will be released in Sweden. This cover would make the phone suitable for me, now that my Motorola Defy has died and i need a new rugged smartphone. All the android-based phones seem slow and old like the defy, while the Lumia both looks good and no Nokia i've bought yet has disappointed me in any way like the Motorola did.

    Surprisingly I did manage to get hold of one recently in UK and would certainly keep you in mind should any other of my back orders be filled in the near future:

  • Cover for Nokia 920 is a BAD design

    Every time I close the top 'flap' of my Nokia cover it pushes my sound to 0, and some times resets my phone because it pushes down on the sound button and the on/off button at the same time. It is a real frustration because it is a Nokia original and I paid a fortune for it at the Nokia store

    Are you referring to the protective shells? These shells are perfectly fit for the Lumia phones. If yours is not, you might want to visit the retail store where you purchase the shell and have it replaced.

  • Need a new SIM card tray and cover for Nokia Lumia...

    I just got a Nokia Lumia 920 in white and when I tried to open the SIM card tray to put in my SIM card, the tray went flying and I can't find it.  Does anyone know how to get a replacement tray?  I have a great phone that I can't use so I'm freaking out right now.  Nokia customer service said all parts are sold on Amazon.  Not true because this one is not.  Tried eBay and Google search to no avail.  Any help would be appreciated.

    @White920
    As a new model parts will still be very scarce and one source was quoting me 3 week wait for a screen replacement.
    It is quite true that one supplier does advertise SIM tray upon Amazon when available:http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0085LV7Y4

    First step of diagnostics would be to double check that your cable is definitely the one which is for use with the 6030 - I just had a look at the Accessories section of Nokia's website, and it doesn't list ANY data cable as being compatible with the 6030. I haven't come across the MobiBrowser software but I suspect this isn't written by Nokia.
    Nokia's software may expect connectivity via different pins etc. that the CA-45 may not be using.
    I would contact the Nokia office in your area for confirmation on cable type. You can find their details here :

  • To view video clips on Nokia 6030 cellphone

    I have tried to download different formats of video clips through my cable for Nokia 6030.  However, everytime I tried to view the video clip, it prompts formats not supported.
    Cud anyone suggest the formats that will enable me to view video clips on my Nokia 6030.
    Thanks

    Adobe Flash Player Software is actually a plug-in and not an actual "player" or "application."  With this plug-in you will be able to view flash videos on Quicktime (with help from Perian) and VLC.  I believe Flip4Mac also.
    After the installation, make sure you repair permissions and restart your computer prior to usage.

  • Where to buy Nokia Xpress-on cover for Lumia 710 ?

    Does anyone know where I can buy Nokia Xpress-on cover for Lumia 710 in Australia? Or anywhere overseas that will ship to Australia. Nokia lists them on their website but not how/where to purchase.
    I notice customers in the U.S. are getting free covers. Is this going to be available to other countries???

    I emailed Nokia NZ about the covers, they said they'd get back to me... 2 months still waiting and yes a new cover would be cool. Mines too black, always getting lost.
    Yellow would be awesome. Perhaps they'll extend the cover offer to the rest of the world one day

  • Are we Beta testing the N97 for Nokia?

    Because if i was given this as a beta release i would have told them what i thought, the current launch version on the N97 with V10 firmware is barely an Alpha release, this phone was a rush job thrown out on the market to coincide with the launch of the iphone 3Gs.
    This is my fourth N series, N80, N95, N95 8gb (the best N series yet), and now this N97 what should be Nokia's flagship, but being stripped of apps and filled with Trial versions to please the accountants at Nokia.
    Day one and it locked up twice, corrupted my contacts when synced with OVI, and ran down to less than 4mb on the C drive, day 2 i found the GPS was not working, it was a joke, walking down the road under a clear sky and it could not hold a signal lock, driving was worse barely holding a signal for a few seconds and as for sitting spinning it round for an age to get the compass to work........forget it id rather be lost than look like a **bleep**.
    Deleting apps and reinstalling them on the mass memory frees up some space, but why should we have to do this, the whole phone is badly thought out and configured.
    Soon after the stylus supplied with the phone and attached to the phones only tie point scratched my screen, what was wrong with a rear cover with a bump and a thin PDA style stylus, no not good enough for Nokia, a fat thing on a string will do for them.
    New Firmware release 4 days after UK launch and still not available to most users as it has not been network approved yet, 3 network say its Nokia's job and they are delaying things, Nokia say its the networks delay. Come on if it was needed that quickly why leave most of your customers waiting, or just get to work on a layered OS with a standardised core with a network layer, so everyone can have the updated without waiting.
    4 weeks in on this phone, i too have the scratched camera lens, still No working GPS, and having some good negotiations with Three to try to reverse the contact upgrade, as i don't think another N97 will last any longer than this one.
    I see Nokia spending Millions on punting the N97, TV, Billboards, Net adds, why push so hard on what is a sub standard product, could you imagine Joe public trying to free off some memory by moving apps, tell the care centres to brace themselves the N97 flood will be coming their way.
    What next, well if 3 don't cancel the upgrade, then Nokia will have to fix my phone again and again and again untill it works as advertised, in the mean time i am off to get in touch with watchdog so they can let Joe Public know what to expect from an N97.

    Solved!

    I don't believe we're beta testing the N97 for Nokia. Beta testing suggests it is in a state prior to production. Nokia's track record (at least to me) seems that leading edge phones never reach a stable plateau.
    What I believe happens is the phone is released and remains unstable until they sort of perfect the platform, then a new handset is released bringing a whole new world of bugs and problems and so the cycle continues.
    By the time the phone is suitable for every day use it is, by today's technological stance, ancient and the damage has already been done to the reputation.
    S40 phones seem to fare much better, mainly because it is much more widely used within Nokia. S60 is up against some fine competition from vendors who will rush fixes out.. Nokia only ever seems to rush phones out. It isn't the same and it shows (see their forcast for the next 6 months)
    I honestly would not be surprised if this flagship phone limps on in a partially functional state until it is superceeded by a budget blackberry clone.
    Sad? Very! Am I being cynical, or telling it like it is.
    I'd be real interested to know if any exec at Nokia used the N97 in the weeks before it was released.. Not that I'm a fan, but we all know Stevie J used an iphone long before it was released.. I kind of get the impression they must all use very basic "corporate" s40 handsets and assume their flagship product must be of the same calibre.
    Next release, why not give 100 people N97 for testing, real testing.  It seems Nokias quality assurance team is out of touch with what a $700 handset demands.. ooooh, I gasp in awe at your 30 MB of free capactity when you remove ALL the applications you can. (It's like having a 2TB hard drive in a computer and continuing to boot from a floppy)
    I appreciate there are product time lines to meet, but if Nokia were aiming to compete with the likes of the pre, iphone and the various android handsets (not even mentioning windows mobile) rushing out a phone like this was very wide of the mark. Concept wise, the N97 is a great design.. the implementation of both the hardware and software just isn't going to cut it in todays market..
    (but this is what they want? you'll get bored with the handset and buy a replacement! yeay!)

  • Improvements for nokia s40v5 devices

    Hi  I was just thinking... I think this is a good idea for nokia and nokia users...
    So here's what i mean... all of us have nokia phones right? some of us has nokia phones that runs the nokia s40v5 operating system right?so i was jus thinking...for the upcoming firmware updates for them, can you add some brand new features like "HomeScreen" which s40v6 has and s40v3 has it... why s40v5 doesn't come with active standby or homescreen?
    here's another feature that you guys may like. In music player themes, instead of default music player themes installed on the phone like black, squares, sound waves, and some music player themes, the music player theme/background will be get in the themes (the .nth file)not in the mobile phone itself.
    Another feature that you guys may like is the new gallery, just like the one's in nokia c1-01 and nokia c3-00.
    Another one is the facebook client just like in nokia c3-00, x2-01.
    another one is smart dialing, which is just like when you typpe 5555, the phone will say that's mom's number(09165555882).
    Another one is the improved video recording... Instead of QCIF (176x144) resolution, use QVGA(320x240) or VGA(640x480) recording resolutions at 15fps and recording it with a mp4 codec... The video recording will result in crystal clear shots!!!
    The one and the most important features that the s40 phones should get is multitasking... Yes you heard it right, multitasking. Just like in smartphones, nokia s40v5 devices should get multitasking. But always there's should be a limit to prevent the phone to crash although almost all nokia s40v5 phones has only 2.1mb of RAM(according to memoryUP pro application)...
    If it's still possible, by only software update, the RAM may be increased for just like 10mb or more (phone memory will be used although we got memory cards right???)
    what do you think guys and nokia developers, what do you think??? is this a cool idea???

    Unfortunately S40v5 won't be gaining any of the major features found in S40v6 models. Time has moved on so if you want the features found in S40v6 devices you will need to buy one.
    You are welcome to start a new thread giving suggestions about what you think should be added to the current (S60v6) or future operating systems.

  • PIM access on Nokia 6030

    I am trying to develop an application that can access PIM database and file database on Nokia 6030. To run the application, I need App.access should be enabled to read and write permission. Here is what i see...
    Game & Apps>myApplication>options>App.access>Phone access
    "Read user data" --> set to "Not allowed"
    "Read and edit data" --> set to "Not allowed"
    Has anyone tried to develop applications for this particular model to access PIM or file database? If Yes, how did you enable the access?
    Here is snip of the code:-
    //Open default contact list
    PIM pim = PIM.getInstance();
    ContactList clist = null;;
    try
    clist = (ContactList) pim.openPIMList(PIM.CONTACT_LIST, PIM.READ_WRITE);
    } catch(Exception e)
    message = "error opening list;"+e.getMessage();
    if (clist == null)
    message = "null contact list";
    HelloScreen helloScreen = new HelloScreen(this, message);
    Display.getDisplay(this).setCurrent(helloScreen);
    return;
    I always get an error "null contact list". I should have got SecurityException if access is not unabled. but I don't. Anyone please helpme if this works on Nokia 6030. Thanks a lot for your help.
