Crystal Parameter form opens in the background

Hi All,
Has anyone else seen or perhaps resolved the issue where, when running a crystal report from SAP which has selection parameters, the form in which the user needs to key the parameters opens in the background.
It doesn't show in the tool bar that it is there, so the users try again, and get an error message about open sessions (can't recall the exact message).

"Multiple report views are not permitted".
I am keeping updating this to keep the message up front.
I have a customer who is having real trouble with this.
I see the issue has been raised and solved before but the links are broken so I cannot find the answer.

If you want to remove saved form data from a drop down list then use these steps:
#Click the (empty) input field on the web page to open the drop down list

Amount of forms open in the session

Hello all,
I would like to restrict/control the amount of forms open by the user,
as I am using open_form.
I have found nothing in the forms help about that, like a system variable and nothing so far on the web.
A possible workaroung/idea could be to have a global
that I count up on when-new-form-instance
and count down on key-exit.
Did someone have experience that problem ? what do you think ?
I am using Forms 10g R2.

PS : I guess an amount of 10 forms open by user, could be a good limit in order to don't get performance problem.

So far that's the only workaround that I found sor far, init the global at my starting, then count up/down.
Do you think a limit of 10 opened forms at the same time is reasonable ?

PS : btw bravo about your LAF project !!!!, it rocks the layout, I am testing it at the moment on forms migration 6i=>10g that I have to do (sad that it's not brand new appli/project to do, then layout could be really be review and defined nice from the beginning)

Adobe pdf printer save dialog box opens in the background - progress bar shows Not Responding

I have two users who have Acrobat X Pro version 10.1.4 that are experiencing the same things. First, one person just changed laptops and the new one has a fresh Windows 7 Enterprise X64 image and new installation of Adobe Acrobat X Pro. When he used the pdf printer for the first time(after opening the program and accepting the license agreement) he was in MS Excel '07 and chose file>print>Adobe PDF and then the progress bar came up and then showed not responding. After he did this a couple of times with me standing there I noticed that the save dialog box was opening in the background because I could see the icon blinking on the taskbar. He said that his old computer never did this and that it would always open up and ask where to save the file and never show 'not responding' on the progress bar. The other person having the same issue is running the same version but she has had the program installed on her machine for a few months and an older version on before that.
Is there a way to make the dialog box show as soon as you print to the Adobe PDF printer? What is causing this? Is there another way to create a pdf from MS Office like the add-on?

When clicking CTRL+Link my new tab opens in the background window, instead of the foreground window I'm using. Is there a way to make this work the way it used to, where the new tab always opens in whatever window I was currently using?

I use a web based software for work. I go to a web page listing all employees as links (Window A). When I click an employee link a new window opens (Window B). Window B contains links, i.e. Add Client, Change Address, Change Phone Number, Change Name, Upload Photo, etc... When I hold CTRL and left click the links in Window B, the new tab opens in Window A. I don't understand why this has changed, as I've been using this method to open new tabs in my current window in both of the previous versions of Firefox.

To give you an example of what I'm speaking, I found this page that recreates the scenario.

2. Click the GO in the center of the box on their page (This creates a pop-up window with links to other programming pages)
3. CTRL+left click any of those links. The page opens in the background/original window, not the pop up window where you are currently working. And, with your solution takes me back to that window and the new tab.

Hi,
When you have completed design your form on design tab, you may open form to filling out and submit. At this time, if you don’t change your form, it will keep the open state. if you change or edit your form, it will showing a warning dialog to let you know form will be changed to closed, and remind you to open it again.

I have a SharePoint 2007 environment where when I try to open a Powerpoint File and update it and close it , an Excel file opens in hidden state which was opened earlier in the doc library. The Excel file opens in the background repeatedly. Any Ideas

Try this - go to System Preferencres > General
In the section for Recent items, uncheck the item named "Restore windows..."

Is it possible to run a form offline (in the background)..?

Is it possible to run a form offline (in the background) by passing all the required parameters? I know this sounds crazy...but like to know if a form can be run in silent mode.
This will help us in reusing the form for online and background processing.

If there is something to run in background, why would that be a form? Normally, a form is supposed to interact with the user.
If you want to do some data crunching in the database in background, then that should be a job. And, if needed, you may submit the job even from a form, after which you may close the form. RTM for dbms_job and dbms_scheduler - that should help.

Error message in Contacts open in the background

I've been getting this lately. Contacts open in the background, and a popup will start bouncing, and I see this in the app
Click OK and care on as usual. Doesn't seem to do or affect anything. Any one know what's going on?

Welcome to the HP Support Forums. I understand that when you try to print to your Deskjet 6540, from your web browser that you are not getting the option to print but getting two pop-ups instead.
For Windows 7, this printer only has the basic driver that comes with Windows 7, HP does not have a driver available. Based on that, were any Windows updates installed around the time that this began? Have you tried to print the same web pages from a different web browser?
While I’m waiting for your response, you could Try the HP Print and Scan Doctor for Windows. It may be able to offer some insight into the issue. The Print and Scan Doctor diagnoses and helps resolve common printing, scanning, and connectivity problems.

If an item is deleted in 'mail' before it is opened does it open in the background anyway? I am concerned about hackers, worms etc.

No, if you delete, that is trash and then empty the trash, it is gone from the system.
If you are really, really concerned, delete, empty trash, and then restart the system...anything that may have been in volatile memory will be gone that way.

If you mean using the mail app - yes it can be kept open. You do not have the multiple open windows feature in iOS like on a computer so you still have to navigate back to the mail app via double tapping the home button or by swiping to switch apps if using multitasking gestures.

Same problem here, after istalling ios 6 on my iphone 4s my auto lock didnt work, but when i closed my assistive touch it worked again..I didnt have this problem in the 5.1.1 version. I dont wanna close the assistive touch tough....annoying problem !!!
Another problem occured in the settings of alarm clock. The sensivity of the on-off button is not as good as in the 5.1.1 version...
Hope they will fix this problem soon !!!

Why does the Firefox application stay open in the background when I close it?

I have a WN XP PRO desktop and a WN 7 Pro laptop. Every grade of Firefox has the same problen of staying open in the background at times. I have always had to restart my computers to clear it. Why can't this problem be fixed? I see that others are having the same problem. The only time that I know that it hasn't shut down is when I try opening it up. It may be running when I am using IE or Google. It has to be slowing my computers down.

There's no way a 16GB model phone has more than than capacity. I have no idea what you mean by AutoRun icon. Is that an app you downloaded? Did you jailbreak?

However computers see and calculate storage based on binary definitions where 1 GB = 1,073 742,824 bytes. Thus a 16 GB "decimal" device is only 14.9 real, binary gigabytes.

Parameter Form not calling the Main report - Gives REP-0110, REP-1070, REP-0110 error

I am using run_report_object to call a report in which the user has to input some paramters. I have followed the instructions as in the Oracle White paper document on Forms/Reports integration.
The paramter report does come up but when I hit the submit button, I get an error
REP-0110: Unable to open file 'rclug005'.

I've checked the privileges and everything's fine on that front. Also, I can get to open the report with the web.show document built-in with paramform setting = No.
I am guessing something's wrong with the html constructed in the parameter form which is,

I am building the variable exactly as in the White paper in the "before form" trigger using exactly the same values give there.

My report has some extra parameters too it expects. So do I have to include the names of those parameters too in the string above?
For example, in my report a user parameter is named 'print_date', which I do see and populate with value in the parameter form, then do I have to build that in the vc_hidden_runtime_values string above.
I am using Report 6.0.8.11.3 on 9iAS.
