Crystal relort access in R/3

Below error occured while accessing tables in crystal reports. Quite sure its not an SAP related access issue. Can anyone help to resolve this. Thanks!
Data object can not be opened/accessed
Details: Table level security check failed

Hi,
It depends on your requirements...as far as i know,we really don't need edit/create access in r/3 production for a BW developer...You can provide access later if necessary...
hope this helps
pl don't forget to reward if it helps

    Hello,
we are running Crystal Reports 2008 with SAP CRM 6.0.
To boost productivity or Report writeing we need especially access to:
    - Function Modules
    - the CRM Business Objects Repository (Transaction SW01).
What kind of SAP/CRM  ( or SAP / ERP )  Objects can be accessed with the Integration for

The BO Documentation  [BusinessObjects XI Integration for SAP Solutions User's Guide|http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/boexir31SP2/en/xi31_sp2_bip_sap_user_en.pdf]  does not give a clue if this is possible.
However,  Ingo Hilgefort stated in his book that it is at least possible to access  ABAP Functions, SAP Querries and SAP InfoSets.

  • Crystal Reports: access to SAP BW tables in own namespace

    Hi BO experts
we are running XI3.1 SP2 including reporting tools, integration kit and so on. The installation and the integration to SAP BW is working properly for most szenarios.
Starting from Crystal Reports we would like to access a SAP BW table which was generated in an own namespace. By starting the database assistant we are connecting with the driver "SAP-tables,-clusters,or -functions" and see some tables in "DD (data lexicon)". But we can not find the self generated table in there. It is only possible to access the tables in namespace "/1CPMB/", "/B28/" and "/BI0/".
How can we access tables from another namespace? Are there any restrictions for accessing SAP BW tables, e.g. namespace, configuration, settings etc.to stick to?
Thank you very much for your suport in advance.
    Kind regards.
    Markus

    Hi Markus,
just go to the Database Expert, select the connection to your BW server on the left window, press the right mouse button and choose Options from the context menu. In the field Table name LIKE: you can restrict the names of the displayed tables:
eg. assuming your namespace is /ZMYNSP then just give there /ZMYNSP% ( % is a wildcard)
Close then the Options window and choose Refresh using again the context menu (or just press F5)
CR can only display a limited number of tables when you expand your BW System and by using the Options panel as described above you can let the system display exaclty the tables you need.

    Stratos

  • Crystal Reports Access

    Hi All,
Can anybody help me with the solution for the following problem? We have problems with the following scenarios:
If the table has a relation to only one session and this session happens to be a sensitive session the access to the session was removed per request to the approvers. As a result of this the Crystal user lost the access to keep on running a Crystal report that used this mentioned table.
Question: Can we grant permission to the table that Crystal user is requesting to, without giving permission to a(BaaN) session.
Any help will be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.
    Vijay

Hi, Vijaya, I do not believe so.  If memory serves me right, it was one complaint on the first version of the BaaN driver that got addressed on the following release, as that is a serious security loophole.  The idea is that the BaaN driver would use the security model set in BaaN, so that access would be set by the session and not the table level.  In other words, a user would only be able to access a table from the BaaN driver if they have were granted access to the corresponding BaaN session that that table is linked to.  Tables that are not linked to any sessions, however, would be open to all.

  • JSP, Crystal RAS access passing parameter issue

I am facing some issues with Crystal Report in RAS Server. The reports works fine, when i access the URL with parameters without hiphen('-'). But the same  throws an error  when i have an hiphen in the parameter value "The syntax of the value for prompt is facilityid incorrect. Please correct the syntax and try again"
    My URL is
    http://server/businessobjects/viewrpt.cwr?id=33432&apsuser=USERID&apspassword=PASSWORD&apsauthtype=secWinAD&init=ACTX&promptex-departmentid=CMDV&promptex-facilityid=VS-1&promptex-shiftdate=04/28/2009&promptex-dummy=14.727542216333234
The issue is with the parameter value for facilityid VS-1

Thank you Praveen. But, I have done it in a different way.
    http://server/businessobjects/viewrpt.cwr?id=33432&apsuser=USERID&apspassword=PASSWORD&apsauthtype=secWinAD&init=ACTX&promptex-departmentid="CMDV"&promptex-facilityid="VS-1"&promptex-shiftdate="04/28/2009"&promptex-dummy=14.727542216333234
I passed the parameter values in double quotes and it is working fine. But now the problem is that the Crystal Report is not refreshing with the latest data. This is the case, even if i uncheck the "Save data with report".

  • Is there any difference b/w Crystal reports accessed from Crystal reports XI R2 and Crystal reports accessed from BO Eneterprise Crystal Reports Explorer

    Post Author: Sriramkusumanchi
    CA Forum: Crystal Reports
    Hi All,
We are using BO XI R2 version.
    1. Under this version, the BO Enterprise product consists of Crystal Reports Explorer feature through which we can develop the crystal reports.
    2. And under the same version, the Crystal Reports XI R2 product consists of Crystal Reports feature through which we can develop crystal reports.
I want to know, wheher there is any difference in the features for developing crystal reports through point 1 and point 2. If yes, then which product is the better option to go for Crystal reports development. (please note: I want the all the scheduling, automatic printing, printing on pre printed forms, etc features to be supported)
Please help us to solve this confusion ASAP.

    Hi Nancy,
The server info still needs to be updated. Are you setting location for each subreport also?
Possibly this registry key will help, I only have CR 2008 installed so you'll have adjust for what ever you are using:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Business Objects\Suite 12.0\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions - VerifyStoredProceduresOnFirstRefresh = No
    and
    VerifyStoredProceduresOnSetLocation = No
    And
    VerifyWhenDBDriverUpgraded = No
    And
    ViewOutOfPlaceSubreports = No
Close CR designer before making any changes. And the usual warning about modifying the registry.
    Thank you

  • Access DB (& .ldb file) does not close after crystal reports

    Post Author: mgold
    CA Forum: Crystal Reports
Access DB (& .ldb file) does not close after crystal reports
Hi! We have a VB application using Crystal Reports 6 that has worked successfully on hundreds of systems for over 10 years. Now, on one network, the application and access database does not close. It seems to hang on the [.Close] command.
When we open the application an peruse the screens without opening up a report (using crystal reports), the application and access db closes fine. But as soon as we run a report and then close the report and try to close the application, the access db does not close. Many of the screens open the db and grab data from the access db, but it's only after running crystal reports that we have this problem. (Please see more information below.)
Setup: Application and data (access 97 db) reside on a server in the same folder, but application shortcut is kicked off on client PC. Kicking off the shortcut on the client PC means that the image/process runs on the client PC (not on the server). In this problem case, the application shortcut is on a Windows XP Pro Version 2002 SP2 PC with the app & data on a Windows 2003 server. Users are local Admins on their PCs with "Full Control"over the directory and files on the server where the data (access 97 db) resides. This type of setup is typical and has worked without any problems for clients.
The application is written in Visual Basic, using Crystal Reports 6 (using DAO). We close the recordset, set it to zero and then it hangs on closing the db (.Close command).
A few key pieces of information:
    - The application closes fine if the app & data (access 97 db) are on a local PC. This includes closing fine if the application is run directly on the Windows 2003 server where the data is stored.
    - It worked on this client's network until sometime in the last few weeks.
    - One thing that changed is that the company is using VMWare on its servers. Not sure if they started using VMWare at the same time as it started failing. This may be unrelated. Possibly other things changed, but can't get any more information ... yet.
    - It works fine running the application from a Windows Vista PC with a user who is a domain admin.
    - The access db and application hang for about 10-20 minutes and then eventually closes. It appears that somehow
Crystal Reports is keeping the db open, but I'm not sure why.The application doesn't quit and the database doesn't close even if I try to end the task with the Task Manager.
    - The Crystl32.ocx version being used is 8.0.0.4 (if that matters).
    - I copied 6 month old program files and database files to a test folder on the Windows 2003 server. It fails using these files that worked fine 6 months ago.
Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated! If you know of another good place to post this, please let me know.
    Thanks!
    - Mark

Crystal doesn't support tables in HTML interpretation.
You can probably work your way around this by doing Replace() calls on the relevant tags.

  • Report in Crystal CRXI using Workshop class datasource

I am trying to create a report using Crystal Reports XI that uses a Workshop class as a datasource. The documentation for V10 and XI says that any compiled java class that has a public method returning a java.sql.ResultSet object can be used as a data source.
I followed an example in the Crystal documentation that uses a bean compiled outside of Workshop and it works fine. When I try to point the config file to my Workshop classes, it does not list any of my class files. Has anybody successfully done this?

    Hi Sudhir,
For Building up a connection for OLEDB  we need :
In order for Crystal Reports to connect to a database through OLE DB, there are some requirements that must be met:
u2022     The database client software must be installed on the client machine.
u2022     The client machine must be able to connect to the server from its client software
u2022     The client softwareu2019s working directory (example. c:\orant\bin) must be in the Windows search path
u2022     The OLE DB provider must be installed on the local machine.
We have the connection for crystal reports through OLEDB :
The process by which Crystal Reports access data from an OLE DB data source consists of these five layers:
    Crystal Reports Layer
    OLE DB Translation Layer
    OLE DB Layer
DBMS Translation (OLE DB provider) Layer
    Database Layer
The data translation is similar to the ODBC connection model. Crystal Reports uses CRDB_ADO.DLL to communicate to the OLE DB provider, which communicates to the database. Crystal Reports can connect to any database as long as that database has an OLE DB provider.
When creating a new report in Crystal Reports, OLE DB data sources are found in the Create New Connection folder with the OLE DB (ADO) connection.

  • Help Needed : Setting JDBC Datasource in Crystal XI using Sybase 12.5??

    All,
We are migrating our systems to the Crystal XI from Crystal 9 Reporting Servers. I need some technical assistance on the Java API ( use of the Datasources) .
Problem: Currently in Crystal 9 we are using OLEDB datasources to connect to various Sybase 12.5 databases (which is been set programmatically at runtime). After I changed the Java code for getting the report object from the Crystal XI server instead of 9.  I stared facing the dbLogon failed exceptions.. But surprisingly it does work randomly on only one datasource for a given session (AppServer Restart).
    Need Help on Topics:
    1. Is there any different way of configuring/usage the OLEDB datasources for CrXI? or any Java API changes while setting the datasource when using OLEDB?
    2. Configuration required for using Simple JDBC connection (Sybase) instead of OLEDB? Can I get detailed help on this.
I will prefer using JDBC for CrXI using the Sybase 12.5, but there are very less documentation for how to configure and set databases at runtime.
    Many Thanks in Adv.

    Hi
I'm having trouble with my crystal report document prompting for a username and password when using a access database connection as the datasourse, the problem is that i don't have a username a password required for the access database so i have nothing to provide to crystal to access the report.
    Any suggestions welcome

    Hi,
I guess this issue is occuring in CMC or Info View? if I am right then can you check the Database Configuration of the Crystal Report by login to CMC and check if at the bottom of database configuration, the option "use same database logon when the report is run" is checked or not? Otherwise whenever the report is run, it would ask you for the login credentials.
Let me know in case of any queries.

I don't think this DLL is related to the Oracle Client. Rather, i think you are missing a crystal reports reference. However, i did find this workaround on the Oracle forums. To add Grace Days in Payment terms

Hi, I am trying to create a Web Intelligence XIR2 report against a universe based on a SAP BW Query. The report is very simple, Result Objects: Month Query Filters: Month BETWEEN January AND May Then the report is displaying: January, July, June, March, May when the expected result should be: January, February, March,April, May I cannot sort the list of values in the universe. So, any ideas? Thanks in advance.

    Post Author: GailPray

It looks like your months may be stored (as strings?) in alphabetical order.  Your query is running correctly, Jan, July, June, March and May are between Jan and May in alphabetical order.  Can you create a formula that causes the field to be recognized as a month name?  Then you can use that formula in your selection criteria.  Maybe then the report would recognize that you need Jan, Feb, March, April and May?  I used 'monthname' to fix this issue in a Crystal Report accessing a SQL database.

  • Powerbuilder error message license

I have developed a solution in Powerbuilder that loops through several record and save each report with the export PDF function in Crystal ActiveX Report Viewer Control 11.0 and in 11.5.
After running this more than once I get an error message: "A Crystal Reports job failed because a free license could not be obtained in the time allocated". After answering OK everything works fine. But why does error message appears?

    The error message:
"A Crystal Reports job failed because a free license could not be obtained in the time allocated".
is quite strange. Normally I'd expect to see it with the CR SDK for .NET, or perhaps if you are using the craxDDrt.dll.
The CR.NET runtime licensing model has 3 Concurrent Processing Licenses (CPLs). This number can not be changed. Now when using the .NET SDK, 4th and subsequent jobs are queued up and wait for the next available license. It is only in very extreme conditions that the error is thrown even there. If you look inthe event viewer, do you see any warnings \ errors?
The Report Designer Component (RDC) does have a 5 seat model, but it does not follow the same queuing model seen with the CR.NET component - and typically should throw different error messages.
Make sure you are on the latest Service Packs.
    CR XI R2 (11.5):
    https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100015859952009E/crxir2win_sp6.exe
Depending on the SP you are on, you may have to follow the steps as described in [this|Crystal report access violation exception win 2008 server (.Net 2.0); forum thread.
CR XI R1 (11.0) you'll have to look up [here|http://service.sap.com/sap/bc/bsp/spn/bobj_download/main.htm] as I don't have the link saved out.
If you set the report object to nothing after you run it, does that help?
As an FYI. CR XI R2 support will terminate in June of this year. If this is a critical issue, yo may want to consider creating a phone case now as come June all that will be left as far as support will be these forums. Phone cases can be created here:
