Crystal report cross tab

hi all
i am new in this forum. i have facing problem in cross tab report. in my project i'm using cross tab crystal report. i have removed record navigation option.so entire record will be displayed in one page, in this crystal reportviewer will split the records with help of page break. if i got page break the heading will be display again and again for every page break. i want to display heading only one time for all pages using Cross Tab report. Anybody knows tell me the idea

The above highlighting works in regular crystal report but not in cross tab report.
I am wondering is there differnt procedure to work in cross tab? I noticed there's a highlighting expert function in corss tab menu...

Crystal Report Cross Tab Report

In crystal report 2008, i created a cross tab report. Column shows sales order number and rows show item number.
For columns that shows sales order #, I also wanted to show sales person name field right beside it. In cross tab expert, I added the field salesperson name.
However, crystal cross tab shows the sales person at a separate column with duplicate information. I only want to show sales order no. with sales person name under one column. Is there a way to achieve this? Thanks.

This would be a hard job.
Have you tried Pivot Table function in Excel? You can play with it and get some ideas.

Crystal Reports Cross-tab Sort?

Hello,
I am new to Crystal Reports and I canu2019t figure out how to sort a column on a cross-tab.
How can I sort in descending order the Total columns on a Cross-tab? E.g. will like to show the Product Names by the total amount of sales and not by alphabetical product name.
Rows: Product Name
Columns: Region
Summarized field: Total Sales (this is the column I will like to have in descending order)
If this cannot be done, what is the best way to solve this issue?

Hi Sorell,
I tried this, I right clicked on the table border, and clicked group sort, For this group sort I choose All and selected the measure amount and descending. This sorted amount table by the total column for me based on the highest product revenue.

Crystal Reports Cross-Tab Report not showing all available fields

I am running CR2008 against MS SQL Express. I have several tables with fields and data in them and can create standard reports to show all the data in all the fields. However, when I try to create a cross-tab report, only some of the fields appear for me to choose from.
I created a standard report with all the fields I needed in my cross-tab report and ran a preview. Everything was there. I then added a cross-tab object, selected the tables only to find that fields that are in the main report are not showing up for selection in the cross-tab.

UPDATE: I exported the entire database from MS SQLExpress to MS Access and I am having the same issues, so it does not appear to be a problem with the database engine and, since the standard tabular reports show the fields, I am at a loss as to why they don't show up in the cross-tab or the Parameter fields.
I am creating the cross-tab through the Cross-Tab wizard. Is there maybe a bug in that? Is there a way to create it otherwise?

Need Grand Totals in cross tab.

I have requirement in Crystal using Cross Tab.
I need to show cummulative sum (Running Totals) for my Measure value.
and at TOTAL i have to show the sum of all those above values..
like...........
IMy data in general is like as below...
IND US
Jan 10 20
Feb 15 10
Mar 15 15
Total 40 45
when I used Running total field for my measure..it would be...
Jan 10 20
Feb 25 30
Mar 40 45
Total 40 45
But, In the second case I need totals as 75 95
i.e, I have to sum of running total feild.
My out put would be as below.
*Jan 10 20*
*Feb 25 30*
*Mar 40 45*
*Total 70 95*
I was able to get Cumulative sum for measure, but am not able to get Total.
Please help to find it out....its very imp for me now

Let's try looking at it another way. A runnnig total using the SUM function is essentially adding a numerical value for mulitple rows:
R1 - 5
R2 - 5
R3 - 6
Now if I insert a running total for each detail line, that would calculate the following:
R1 - 5 RunT = 5
R2 - 5 RunT = 10
R3 - 6 RunT = 16
Now I am going to assume that you are grouping your data and resetting your running your total for each group value:
Group 1 - A
R1 - 5 RunT = 5
R2 - 5 RunT = 10
R3 - 6 RunT = 16
Group 1 - B
R1 - 10 RunT = 10
R2 - 10 RunT = 20
R3 - 15 RunT = 35
Group 1 - C
R1 - 8 RunT = 8
R2 - 16 RunT = 24
R3 - 10 RunT = 34
And what your user is asking for is a running total for all rows of all groups:
G1-A 16 RunT = 16
G1-B 35 RunT = 51
G1-C 34 RunT = 85
Instead of trying to sum the individual group running totals, consider creating a separate running total that sums the individual row values without resetting the running total at the group level:
G1A R1 - 5 RunT = 5
G1A R2 - 5 RunT = 10
G1A R3 - 6 RunT = 16
G1B R1 - 10 RunT = 26
G1B R2 - 10 RunT = 36
G1B R3 - 15 RunT = 51
G1C R1 - 8 RunT = 59
G1C R2 - 16 RunT = 75
G1C R3 - 10 RunT = 85
This is essentially the same thing as saying (ABC) + (DEF) + (GHI) which is simply employing the transitive nature of addition.

Who expects if all you care about is the result after processing all the groups, however, it would be easier to just say sum(value)...

Date Format is not Working in Cross tab Crystal report 2008

I have developed an application ASP.Net c#
in Framework 3.5 with crystal report 2008 with service pack 5.
in my crystal i used cross tab to show the grid records. one of the data having the data type as date time after launching the report, when i export the report with option "export to excel (data only)" and check the format of the date value in excel it show the general string
if i place that data in any other location other than cross tab then it reflects the format what i give in report design. but when the control is in cross tab
its not effect
how to solve this!

Crystal Report 2008 - Cross tab in subreport doesn't expand horizontally

Hello,
i'm migrating all my company's reports from crystal report X to crystal report 2008.
And i'm facing the following issue:
when a sub-report contains a cross-tab that is too large for one page, in crystal report X a second horizontal page is generated, but in Crystal report 2008 the second horizontal page is not visible.
Is it a known bug, is there a patch to install?

thank you for your answer, but this workarround does not works in my case.
My main report is just a container for multiple subreports and some of them contains crosstab that can grow on several pages horizontally and vertically.
For example i have some crosstab that can span on more than 5 pages vertically and on 2 pages horizontally.
I tried to create an empty cross tab that span on 2 horizontal pages in the main report, and to mask it. That works for the first vertical page of the subreport but only for this one. Moreover if the first page of the crosstab contained in the subreport does not span horizontally, this solution create an unwanted empty page.

Cross Tab calculation in Individual column-Crystal Report

I am preparing a report in Crystal report 2008. Report template is Cross Tab.
Structure of report is
Cardname-Row, DocType-Columnd, DocTotal-Summarize field.
Result of this report is

I have inserted a column using calculated member. I want to Calculate in that column with BP opening balance
eg. OCRD.Balance-DocTotal when I do this it give first value to all column rows, i.e (consider XYZ opng Balance is 1500, I have calculate month opening balance which meance Current Opening Balance-Current month Order bookings=Month opening balance)
          IN(Invoice)             RC(Inc Pmt)      Total   Opng Balance
XYZ       1000                  -500                  500     500
ABC      2000                 -1000                1000     500
Total      3000                  -1500                1500    500
I want to calculate Opng Balance for each CardName but it gives first Customers opning balance to all customers.
Give me solution.

I think you can do calculation based on the formula .On the cross tab ,there is :
X -selection - row
Y - selection -column
Z - summary
You can also use formula on cross tab to do that function and insert into summary section .

Row Headers in Cross Tab Report -Crystal Report XI

I am trying to create a cross tab report. The report has 4 rows and the columns get generated based on the value of a database field.
I have 2 questions
Question 1 : I want the rows to have headers. I insert text objects in the report and when I run the report in crystal, the headers are displaying as required. But when I export to excel, the headers are displayed after the data. How can I create row headers and get them exported to excel as row headers.
Question 2: I am creating the column based on a database field. The field is of text data type. The sorting for this filed is 1. abc ,10. abc , 11.abc , 2.abc , 3.abc ; etc where abc is a text string. How can I sort the columns so that the columns appear as 1.abc, 2.abc, 3.abc etc.
I tried using the specified order sorting, but when I check the list of values that it creates to select the values, it is truncating the values. I can only see part of the values from the database.

I don't have Crystal in front of me so I will try to do this from memory. If you right click on a report object, there is option on one of the tabs (I think it is General) that says Display String with a corresponding X button. If you click on that, then you can enter a text expression that overrides the actual value of the report object.
In your case, if you want to add a static header text to the row data, you could try something like the following:
if Gender = "M"
then "Mr. " + CurrentFieldValue
else "Ms. " + CurrentFieldValue
where Gender is a field object in the report and CurrentFieldValue is the data object specified for rows in the cross-tab.
If you wanted to put header on the previous line, you could try something like this:
"Account ID" + chr(13) + CurrentFieldValue
where CurrentFieldValue is the account ID string.

Display Chinese Word In Crystal Report's Cross-Tab

I am trying to display chinese word in my cystal report. It can be display correctly in detail, page header or formula. But when come to cross-tab, it just will show some funny symbol on it. any idea?

I need to create 3 cross tabs in one crystal report with different condition, how i can do that?
for example, in one cross tab, i only want to show last year's information, in another one, i want to show this year's information

I think what Ian means is....
Right now you have you cross tab set this way..
                       2008         2009
Location1
Location2
Location3
He wants you to switch rows to cloumns and make the Year your first Group.
Then you'll have
                 Location1       Location2          Location3
2008
2009
This way all your locations show up in your cross-tab.
Hope this makes sense....

How to create cross tab reports using RAS SDK api with Crystal Reports XI

Iam generating reports in a web-based application with Crystal Reports XI using Report Application Server(RAS) SDK API. The columns in my report exceed that of an A4 sized page. So, when I export that report to pdf, only those columns that fit to a page are showing up. To solve, this problem, I thought of using cross tab. But, I donot know how to generate cross tab report using RAS SDK API. I have tried to get some code from the internet. But, I did not find any java code for that.Can some one give me some sample code.It is very urgent.

Hi,
The easiest way I use is to create the worksheet as regular table and then when i verify the data I get (non aggregate) I duplicate it as a cross tab.
In the duplication wizard I just need to define the axis (using drag and drop).
if you want to create a cross tab from the beginning you need to define that in the new workbook wizard (check the "cross tab" rather then "table"), chose your fields and define the place you want them.
The data point (the center of the cross tab) is aggregated as to your machine definition and will happen automatically.
for example: to find the amount of receipt by months:
On the left put the "Buyer Name", on top put the "Months" and in the data point put the amount.
What you'll get is something like:
months: jan feb mar apr ......
buyer_name
jhon_smith 100 50 30 250 ......
jhon_doe 80 45 90 453 ........
and so on.....

User-Defined Alphanumeric field not showing in Crystal Cross-Tab Reports

We are facing the given below issue in crystal reports :
In Crystal Cross-tab reports User defined fields with alphanumeric datatype are not displaying where as User defined Fields created with Numeric datatype are displayed and SAP fields for eg; Item name which are AlphaNumeric datatype are showing up.Can any body help us on this?

How to arrange month in order in cross tab in crystal report

we are using cross tab to arranging the data (month wise) in crystal report. we have month in string format like jan2008. this field is in column of the cross tab. now we need to arrange the month in sorted order. At Present , the month is displayed as april2007, arpil2008, april2009,may 2007, may 2008, may 2009.
now i want in this order. april 2007, may 2007, april 2008, may 2008, april 2009, may 2009. how to achieve this in crystal report.

Try this,
Create a new formula
For example, "April 2009" is stored as string in {TABLENAME.FIELDNAME}
datevalue("1 "&{TABLENAME.FIELDNAME});
Now you have a date, composed of your year, your Month and 1.
you can use it to order your data by date.
If sometimes there is no blank between month and year ("April2009") try this
local stringvar x;
x:={TABLENAME.FIELDNAME} ;
x:=left(x,length(x)-4)&" "&right(x,4);
x:=replace(x," "," ");
datevalue("1 " & x);

Hierachichal display is not coming for field in cross tab crystal report

Hi,
I have a dimension "Cost center" in DSO on which Hierarchy is defined in SAP BI.
When I developed one cross tab report on this DSO, values for Cost Center fields are displayed in flat mode and not in Hierarchical mode.
I also set group option on this "Cost center" field in report And in Report menu "Hierarchical Grouping option" also check box ticked for "Sort data hierarchically" and also selected Instance id field.
how to get this?
**Note: same problem when report is developed on Infocube.*+

Hi Dhana,
I've created a similar report to show matrix WBS x RBS, and WBS are grouped hierarchically.
My report developed in this way:
- I've created Hierarchical group located in detail section of report. In detail section I've put the row field of cross table.
- I've suppress all this section: group header, group footer and detail
- I've created the cross table in Report Footer
The report show correctly
