IDE : VS .NET 2003,
Platform : .NET 1.x, .NET 2.0, Hello I have been working 4 day's only to get print job which is should be on legal size and landscape mode Here is my story , I have u2022    Dot Matrix Epson Printer (Defaults setting) u2022    Legal size paper First : In crystal report designer I setup printer I select the PAPER SIZE = legal Orientation = Landscape Using this code   Code:
  Dim Frm1 As New Form1     Dim RV As New CrystalDecisions.Windows.Forms.CrystalReportViewer     CR.SetDataSource(PrintDatabase1.Tables(0))     RV.DisplayGroupTree = False     RV.DisplayToolbar = True     Frm1.Controls.Add(RV)     Frm1.WindowState = FormWindowState.Maximized     RV.Dock = DockStyle.Fill     RV.ReportSource = CR     Frm1.Show() When print the Document , the printer print in Portrait Orientation mode . why I donu2019t know second : same situation but I add this code   Code:
CR.PrintOptions.PaperOrientation = PaperOrientation.Landscape When print the Document , the printer print in Portrait Orientation mode . why I donu2019t know thired :   Code:
CR.PrintOptions.PaperOrientation = PaperOrientation.Landscape CR.FormatEngine.PrintOptions.PaperOrientation = PaperOrientation.Landscape
Again When print the Document , the printer print in Portrait Orientation mode . why I donu2019t know
Now after I changed the defaults setting for the Epson printer to Orintation = Landscape Paper size = Legal And used this code Code: SetDataSource(PrintDatabase1.Tables(0))       CR.PrintOptions.PaperOrientation = PaperOrientation.Landscape       CR.PrintOptions.PaperSize = PaperSize.PaperLegal CR.FormatEngine.PrintOptions.PaperOrientation = CrystalDecisions.Shared.PaperSize.DefaultPaperSize = PaperSize.DefaultPaperSize.PaperLegal The printer print in Landscape mode but it not printing the data which located in the right side of paper While that I checked the properties of printer from printer button in the crystal report viewer I found the orientation = Portrait I think its mean the program print the document by coding as landscape but printer receive it and print it as portrait because that it is not shown the right side of paper

  • Crystal Report printing on dot-matrix printer

    Hello,
I've developed an application using VB.NET and Crystal Reports in VS2008. The report generated gets printed correctly on modern laser or inkjet printers. However, the entire formatting gets affected when I print these reports on dot matrix printer. Apart from that. the print speed is very slow. I tried exporting the report to PDF, DOC and other formats - but no solution. There was Export to Text function, which is not working in Crystal Reports now.
After a research on this issue, I found out few links to some solutions - which actually doesn't work. These links are as follows:
    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/forums/en-US/vscrystalreports/thread/e24a8084-ad53-48bc-a7d5-065ef82636ac

I've seen some software, in which, when Print on Dot Matrix (custom menu option) is selected, data is sent to DOS mode and reports are printed from DOS mode.
Is there any solution for this? OR DOS mode is the only solution?
This is high priority issue. Even though we're moving ahead in IT industry, govt. still depend on 4 color dot matrix printer reports.
    Waiting for solution

  • Crystal reports printing in dot matrix printer

I'm using Crystal Reports 2008 with Visual Basic.Net 2008. The problem is that when i print the report in a laser printer, everything is good, but when i used dot matrix printer (like Epson LX 300+), reports is printed smaller than original, doesn't matter if i see good in preview. This is an Asp.Net web form.
How can i fix this problem

    1) Make sure you have the latest CR Service Pack:
    SP4 https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100008782452011E/cr2008sp4.exe
    SP4 MSI https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100008782532011E/cr2008sp4_redist.zip
    SP4 MSM https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100008782522011E/cr2008sp4_mm.zip
    2) Make sure you have the latest updates for the printer driver
    3) Make sure the printer driver is Unicode compliant
    4) Experiment with the "No Printer" option and Dissociate Formatting Page Size and Printer Paper Size option
    5) Compare print from the CR designer to the app print. Do you see the same issue with both?

  • Crystal Repoorts 2008 W2008R2 Dot Matrix Printing Problems

Using CR2008 running on Windows Server 2008R2 - printing toLexMark 2580n dot matrix printers.
I have developed reports that print correctly WHEN I call them up in Crystal Reports 2008 and print them from that application. If I call that same report from within a Visual Studio application, it does not print at all as expected (or desired!!). Similarly, I cannot get other reports to print correctly running directly out of Crystal yet if I call them from the Visual Studio application it does work/behave.
Also, I have some label reports that are printing to a 3.5"W x 2.0"H size (I created a custom label like usual in printer server properties) that behave when I run them directly from Crystal but consistently print out vertically (90 degrees to the right) when I run it from Visual Studio. It's maddeming. I tested the reports when I first purchased CR2008 to make sure it would run on W2008R2 Server (and it did work). Did not see this problem coming. Any assistance would be helpful.
FYI I am printing to LexMark 2580n dot matrix, brand new printers (had to purchase these to make drivers work on W2008R2). LexMark has effectively (to my satisfaction) ruled out their printers as the problem.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  • Need to Take Fast Printing on Dot Matrix Printer Using Report 10g

    Dear ,
I need to take a fast output of Oracle 10g reports on Dot Matrix printer
Client runs the report and open in PDF but when he takes hard copy on his/her local printer, then printer works very slow and take huge time to print a single page.
Kindly help me, how can client get the output directly on his locally attached Dot Matrix Printer and fast.
Reports desinged and compile in Report10g R2 and
    Middle teir using =Application Server 10 R2.
    Thanks and regards.

Draft mode is not by font.  It is a specific printer mode.  If you can not manually setup the mode, B1 may not have any abilities to print in this mode.
    Thanks,

    Hi all,
This is to inform that I have myself found the solution. It is possible to print matrix report in condensed mode. The method for printing is same as for any other report. The mistake I made was not checking whether the .prt file is getting referred correctly. The DESFORMAT system parameter was getting populated through the calling form. By referring to the correct .prt file the problem got fixed.

  • Text Format Report to Dot Matrix Printer

    Hi,
I would like to know how do I output my reports to dot matrix printer. In this way I need to output the report from Report Server (in text format) and send it to the dot matrix printer.
If I send the report in PDF or JSP format, then the printing process will be slow as PDF or JSP format may contains some graphical objects. The printing process will be faster if the report is in text format.
How do I output the report from the Report Server in text format to the dot matrix printer?
    Cheers

  • Printing Reports to Dot-Matrix Printer

I have a customer that is trying to print a report to my company's dot-matrix printer and we keep seeing a "bold/unbold" command (7B, OB) where we should be getting actual bolded text. Is there anyone who has experience printing Oracle reports to a simple dot-matrix text printer? Can you suggest a printer emulation or fix?

The dflt132,dflt like.. files in c:\orawin95\rdbms\reports\print(may be dir is correct) for the printer and make sure that the file contains the correct escape sequence
    like if bold escape "70",etc..
if you know Foxpro Special Char values, the samething you can apply in the dflt files.
    Hope this helps.

  • Web report printed on a dot matrix printer

    Dear all,
how can i design a report that is going to be printed on a dot matrix printer, i want to know these things:
1 - what i will have to change in the report it self.
2 - when i call the report from the form how the code will be.
3 - do i have to print the report on the browser then the user press print from the file menu of the browser.
    please advice

1 - what i will have to change in the report it self.Since you will be printing to a dot matrix printer, you essentially need to design a character mode report and set the .prt file for printing purpose. Check in online help for how to make a character mode report.
2 - when i call the report from the form how the code >will be.On the otn site itself, you can find a white paper on reports 9i/forms integration. Please refer to this white paper on the example code.
3 - do i have to print the report on the browser then >the user press print from the file menu of the browser. You do not need to print the report from browser window and can directly tell the report to print the character mode output using your dot matrix printer. The command line you send from Forms will have destype=printer and desformat=<.prt file name>
    Thanks
    Rohit
