Crystal Report in InfoView is not displaying the parameter

Cheers All,
We have a Crystal Report which is connected to the BEx query. We also have parameters based on variables in BEx.
When we run the report directly from Crystal, everything is fine.
However, when we run the report from InfoView, when I click on the "..." button beside the parameter to make the selection, everything hangs up.
This (static) parameter is based on a variable which is based on a compounded characteristic 0ASSET_AFAB.
The compunding keys are :1) Company code 2) Asset 3) Sub-asset.
The user is providing the Company code in another parameter, but the user is not providing the Asset, nor the asset sub-number... so all the iterations of asset/sub-asset/depreciation area are displayed - and this works at BEx level, and it works when the report is run directly from the Crystal Reports, however this does not work when the report is run from the InfoView.
What would be the best course of action?
Regards,
Dmitriy

Hi Rajiv,
In OIM 9.1 we are using the stored procedure to get the values for all the fields. In the stored procedure we are using the cursor to store the list of values but in the BI Publisher we are using the SQL queries to retrieve the values for the fields in the report. In sql queries we are unable to handle the list of values for the fileds like User Groups and Resources provisioned/deprovisioned.
Please let me know the process even if we can get list of values for the fields using the SQL queries.

Do you have any idea why system is behaving like this please?

In report MB5W/MB5L, click the "Current display variant icon" in the next pop-up screen click the position tab and check whether all the material related fields are added or not. If not, move the fields into display list and then check.

  • Object Id on the Decision Report List applet does not display the Object Id

The Object Id field of the Decision Report List Applet displays either the entity name of the entity name - Id. We wouldlike to dispay the siebel row Id's in that field respectivey for the parent or the child or grandchild entities. Please help with h to go about it.
If the base entity is declared as global in OPM, then global gets displayed in the Object id. If a siebel entity is declared as an entity in OPM then entityname - Id gets displayed.
    Thanks !!

Unfortunately the decision report comes from deep with the engine and there is not much you can do to change it.
However, the Decision report is XML which is then modified by an XSLT for display in Siebel. You could have a look at the style sheet and the original XML and see if there is a way for displaying the XML that might be more suitable for your purpose.
The xslt is decision_report.xslt and can be found in the siebsrvr\XSLT directory.
    Cheers

  • How to display wide crystal reports in Infoview

I have Crystal reports which are about 50 inches wide, I have chosen a PDF writer as the printer driver to fit the layout in the Crystal reports client tool and I export this report to the BO server on a AIX (Unix) server.
This report when viewed via Infoview, the report gets chopped off anything more than 12 inches approx. I have tried various printer settings and even no printer, I am able to scale upto 24 inches at the maximum.
How can I be able to display the 50 inches wide crystal report in infoview. Any help would be appreciable.
Environment: BO XI R2 SP 3.5, AIX 5.3

    Hi,
We have generated the report writer using the transaction GR55 by logging in EN language.
But when we executed the report, column headings are not displayed properly, instead it is displayed some thing like $ZR07##ZCO-OI# $.
Please help us in solving this issue.

    Hi,
Problem solved. We need to generate the report writer in original language only and it will reflect in other languages. Directly if we execute in other language it will display correct headings.
if we generate in other language it will display wrong heading even in original  language also.
So generate report writer in original language only

  • Substitution string used in custom Report column name does not display in PDF version of report

I am using Apex 4.2.6.00.03, Apex Listener 2 via Glassfish4 and have set up all my applications and reports on this system.  We previously used Oracle 10.2, with Apache with a custom fopping document.
My issue is that I have a report that has custom column headings using a substitution string to pull in the begin or end date for the report.  When the report is run and displayed, the column headings appropriately display the date.  However, when I try to set up the Print to PDF option, the column headings are not displaying correctly.
Is it possible to use a substitution string in the column heading?  I am able to use the substitution string in the Page Header and Page Footer and those display correctly.
In the Report Attributes setup I have set the "Strip HTML" to Yes and I have four columns that are using the &"ITEM NAME". string.  See below for actual display:
The report column headings in APEX displays correctly (bold is the substitution detail):
Fund    Account Description          Balance 07/01/2014     Budget/Goal FY 14-15     YTD Actual 02/28/2015         Ending Balance 02/28/2015
In the Print Attributes setup, when I get to the Report Columns section, the Heading column displays the headings as set up in the Report Attributes custom and I am not able to edit these names.  See below:
In the version of the report that is Printed to PDF I get the following for display:
Fund           Account Description           Balance %26amp;P347_BEGIN_DATE.     Budget/Goal %26amp;P347_FY.     YTD Actual %26amp;P347_END_DATE.     Ending Balance %26amp;P347_END_DATE.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Pat

First, the misspelled word is a test object and not data.
    Second, all data display correctly.
Third, text object is displaying the old misspelled word.
Fourth, I have eliminated the possibility that problems in of my pdf export routine cause this issue by exporting directly from Crystal Reports Viewer. I print the report to the crystal report viewer. The report looks good. The text object is spelled correctly. Then I click the Crystal Reports viewer's export button in the left upper corner and I export to both EXCEL and PDF. The excel export looks good. The pdf export is misspelled. All the export occurs internally in Crystal reports.
Fifth, I found outthat all users who have this problem have the ADOBE PDF writer installed. I am just suspicious that ADOBE writer is interferring with Crystal export
Sixth, I cannot recreate this problem on any of our development and test machines. It only happens on end-user laptops.
Seventh, I changed the name of the report that had this problem and created a new version and installed on end-user laptop. The behaviour still persists. User saved the report as both RPT and PDF. RPT export looks good. PDF version has the spelling problem. Data on both reports is up-to-date and good. I copied the same RPT export to my PC and exported it to PDF, the pdf looks good. That is why I think something on the end-users laptops is causing the export to use some cached template.
One more thing I did was to change the report name in VB.NET project, recreated a new package and installed on end-user's laptop. The same exact problem is still there.
I have worked with Crystal Reports more than 15 years and I have never such a weird behaviour before. I know this sounds very weird. We are all baffled by what is happening.

  • Crystal Reports 2008 - dynamic parameters not returing all data

I am having the same issue with Crystal Reports 2008. Only returning 135 customers in a dynamic paramaters when the list should be 3288.
When I re-create the parameter by using a command instead of relying on Crystal to return the data from the db table Crystal returns only 5"pages" of customers to select from.
I have tried to run the report with this reduced selection & it then crashes.
    Any ideas??

This article may help you to increase the number of values in the parameter
    KBase Article ID:c2017238
Article refers to: Crystal Reports XI BusinessObjects Enterprise XI
    Symptom
For performance reasons, in Crystal Reports XI Release 1 and Release 2 the maximum number of values that are returned for a list of values is set to 1000. If you have a cascading List of Values (for example Country > Region > City), the lowest level (in this case City) will only display a maximum of 1000 values. This means that the higher-level prompts may display far fewer values than you expect. The list of values provides the data for the dynamic parameter list.
How can you modify the maximum number of values available in a dynamic parameter list?
    Resolution
To increase the maximum number of values available in a dynamic parameter list, you must add a registry key.
CAUTION     The following resolution involves editing the registry. Using the Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall the Microsoft Windows operating system. Use the Registry Editor at your own risk. For information on how to edit the registry key, view the 'Changing Keys and Values' online Help topic in the Registry Editor (Regedit.exe).
It is strongly recommended that you make a backup copy of the registry files (System.dat and User.dat on Win9x computers) before you edit the registry.
    Crystal Reports XI Release 1
    1.     Create a registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 11.0\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions\LOV.
NOTE     Alternatively, you can create the registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 11.0\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions\LOV and that key will override the settings of the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 11.0\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions\LOV key.
    2.     Add a string value "MaxRowsetRecords" and set the value to the maximum number of values that you desire for your report. For example, a value of 2000 will return up to 2000 values in the lowest level of a cascading parameter. NOTE: The value 0 (Unlimited) will not work with BusinessObjects Enterprise XI or Crystal Reports Server XI, you must specify another value.
NOTE     The higher the number of values is, the longer it will take the Enter Values dialog box to populate with values.
    3.      After making changes to the registry, restart the affected service or application as required.
    Crystal Reports XI Release 2
    1.     Create a registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 11.5\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions\LOV.
NOTE     Alternatively, you can create the registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 11.5\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions\LOV and that key will override the settings of the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 11.5\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions\LOV key.
    2.     Add a string value "MaxRowsetRecords" and set the value to the maximum number of values that you desire for your report. For example, a value of 2000 will return up to 2000 values in the lowest level of a cascading parameter.
NOTE     The value 0 (Unlimited) will not work with BusinessObjects Enterprise XI or Crystal Reports Server XI, you must specify another value.
    3.     After making changes to the registry, restart the affected service or application as required.

  • Crystal Reports version 10  error when displaying report

Hello: New member here, been lurking around for a while. A lot of good information here.
I do hope this is the right place to ask this first question.  I have a customer that has a Crystal Reports 10 installation and cannot display reports since he upgraded from Crystal report 8 to Crystal reports 10
The error he gets is pop message:
CRAXDT error Occurred on Server Error Number: -2147221005 Error description: 006ASP 0177Server
    CreateObject Failed~800401f3
Connection to the database is good we checked with query using SQL.
Let me know what you think I should check next.
    I appreciate it.
    Thanks
    Damon

1212487 - Error: "CRAXDRT Error Occured on Server. Error Number:-2147221005"
    Symptom
A report is called through the Active Server Pages (ASP) Report Server to be displayed in the Report Viewer for ActiveX. However, the report is displayed with blank pages and when the viewer is switched to the Report Viewer for HTML the following error is displayed:
"CRAXDRT Error Occurred on Server. Error Number:-2147221005 Error Description: 006ASP 0177 Server.CreateObject Failed~Invalid Class String"
The same ASP application returns the report correctly when it is called from a client computer with the full version of Crystal Report 8 Developer Edition installed.
    Resolution
It was found that the file, Emfgen.dll, was not installed and registered on the web server computer during the installation of the Crystal Reports ASP Reports Server. The report could be displayed correctly on the client computer, without Crystal Reports Developer Edition installed, after this file had been installed on the web server computer.

  • Regarding Crystal Report and infoview

    Hi All,
In My project I have the following requirements.
I have published a crystal report in infoview which contains three parameters field.
Report is running fine . At the parameter selection screen three options is coming "Execute" "Collapsed All"
and "Expand all" and user wants that it should contain only one option "Execute" or "OK" button.
Is it possible that I can change it from anywhere? Please reply me.

Keep in mind that we are not talking about the BOE or CR SDK here (which is supported from SAP) rather about modifying the existing BOBJ code.
You may try to use the BOE and Crystal SDK to write your own report viewers but to be honest you will save yourself a lot of  time and money if you just tell your users/customers what those buttons do and ask them to avoid them.
