    SAP users are imported into BOE, assigned to the same group.
    When I logon to BOE InfoView with user A, I can execute the Crystal Report (built on top of SAP BW Query).
    When I logon to BOE InfoView with user B, I can not execute the Crystal Report (built on top of SAP BW Query), followin error:
    Error in File Test_Crystal_Report_Finance: Database Connector Error
    Both user A and B having the same role, I dont understand why the problem from.
    Please help.

    Error in File Test_Crystal_Report_Finance: Database Connector Error
    The error is generic, but something to do with accessing the database.
    If you can execute the CR with User A, and not User B, then obivously it has something to do with thier profile/authorization.
    1) In BW ->SU01, check and compare the two user Role and Profile tab.
    2) Logon with User A, and execute the BW Query via RSRT.
    3) Then logon as User B, and execute the BW Query via RSRT.
    Let see what you get with above 3 steps.

  • Crystal Reports not editable from Mobile Sales in CRM 7.0

    Hello Experts,
    We are using Crystal Reports in 4.0 and they are working well. I can open the reports in report Designer and can check all the details.
    Now we have performed a upgrade from 4.0 to 7.0 and getting some issue while executing one of the reports. To analyze that, we have installed Crystal Reports 9 (same version is being used for 4.0 as well) on the MAR/MDW box. But when I try to do "Modify Report" from Report Maintenance /Details tile set (in MSY), I am getting an error "Error while modifying report, try again".
    Anyone has seen this error before? Could you please advise what is wrong here? Is it a problem with database connectivity or something else? Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Pijush

    Hi Pijush,
    I faced this kind of issue when modifying a report in CRM 5.0. Its nothing to do with the version.
    May be, the reports in MSY, are not imported properly on MDW.
    My suggestion is export the reports into a .car file where this is working and make sure there are no errors when create a .car file.
    Import the .car file into the system where you want to modify the report.
    Do not import the same .car file again and again if it fails for the first time. If it fails, then create a new .car file from the system and follow that import process.
    I do not have access to any MDW system now, otherwise I could suggest you better.
    Check this link [Export Manger in MSY|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_crm700_ehp01/helpdata/en/45/da8be986ef3b34e10000000a114a6b/frameset.htm]. It might help.

  • 10g Report not running from Forms if called thru paramform on other domain

    Hi...
    I'm using Dev10g Rel.2....If I call a report with paramform=no and pass it a value from forms then report runs well. but if I call report thru parameter form and pass value from parameter form the report doesn't run with error:
    The webpage cannot be displayed.
    Interesting fact is that If I call the report from a client on same domain as that of Application Server then it runs even thru paramform. I've also entered the application server I.P and name on other domain's client but no way. Can u guess whats the problem there???

    It sounds like a Firewall permissions issue to me. You might want to have your Firewall admin watch the firewall as you run your form to see if the packets are getting intercepted and blocked.
    Hope this helps,
    Craig

  • Crystal reports not running in infoview

    Hi ,
    Created a report using excel as datasource via odbc DSN. Report runs fine in Crystal but gives an error in Infoview ." database logon information is either incomplete or incorrect"
    Have tried every possible way to make it workou but in vain.
    Pls suggest any solutions.

    Hi Stratos, In your previous reply below
    "You have to create the DSN to your excel file also on your BOBJ server as you did on your local workstation. When CR runs in the InfoView it will try to locate the DSN on the BOBJ server. In order to do this correctly please use odbcad32.exe.
    Importing the Excel file in the BO repository does not really help. You have to consider to copy the Excel file on your BOBJ server or copy it in a shared drive (which is accessible from both your local workstation and the BOBJ server).
    Regards,
    Stratos"
    I am assuming these are two different methods: In 1st one i will need to make connection to ODBC and in second one it will be Access/Excel (in crystal)
    Am I right?

    CA Forum: Data Connectivity and SQL
    Hi, I'm new with crystal and was wondering if anyone know how to connect crystal to salesforce.  I tried to connect salesforce by creating a new connection.  When I put in the salesforce userID and password, i got an error message saying that the logon failed and to check my login and password. I've verified my login and password repeatedly via salesforce.  I'm not sure what the connection issue is, can anyone help?? Thanks!

    I agree, 110%, I would much rather purchase either Apple or Mac native software but the offerings are limited.  I have been using Macs since the late 80's and I always have tried to buy Apple softwrare first. I still haven't pulled the trigger yet on anything but sadly it doesn't seem anyone in the Mac world has anything that can compete with the Sony software.
    One of my reasons for doing this is to be able to get HD content to burn to Blu-Ray which is another problem.  Finding a burner to work with my Mac(s) is hit or miss.  I know I can't be the only person who wants to do this.  Clogging up my hard drives with all this video is not what I want.  Burn to dsc and store it until I want to watch it is my thinking.  And plus I can then take the disc(s) to someone elses house and they can watch it without any problems.
    Anyone with any fisrt hand experience with what external Blu-Ray burners might work with my Mac Mini, running Snow Leopard 10.6.8, would also be appreciated!
    Thanks, again for everyone's input!

  • Hiding columns in the front end i.e. Oracle Answers

    Hello,
    I wonder if it is possible to hide the non-essential reporting colums such as ID from Answers so the front-end users only see the column that should
    be exposed for reporting.
    Thanks,

    You should be ok as long as the joins and relationships are properly setup in the Business Layer.
    It's also possible to 'secure/hide' specific columns within a Presentation Column in the repository by setting permissions to specific repository groups. This way some Answers users could see the columns while others would not.

  • Changes to the Back-end....Bringing it on to the Front-end

    Hello All,
    I would like to know the means of reflecting the changes made to the back-end tables on to the front end. Say we've a departments table and an ADF UIX page displaying the data from it in the front-end... we make certain modifications to the back-end table.. Now how do I bring it on to the already existing front-end UIX page. Could anyone give me a solution for this. Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Arun.V

    Hi,
    If you have navigated to the employees from selected department (ie, all the employees on the page are from the same department) then you can just drag the department name onto the page to create the bindings and display the department name.
    If you are going direct to empoyees in a read only table an easy solution is to create a business component based on a database view that joins the two tables and presents the employee details and the department name.
    create or replace view emp_dept as
    select e.emp_id,
           e.emp_name,
           d.dept_id,
           d.dept_name
    from emp e,
         dept d
    where e.dept_id = d.dept_id; If you want to edit an employee then create a view link to a ViewObject which represents just employees using the employee id. On the single record edit page use a message choice to translate the department id into the department name.

  • Converted Crystal Report Not Executing in Info View

    We are in the process of testing BOXI3.1 sp2 fix pack 2.8. The problem we are having was not occurring in BOXI rel2.
    After saving a Crystal Report developed with version 11.5.0.313 using CR2008, the report was run successfully within Crystal Reports.  I'm assumming that the report was converted to 2008 format due to saving the report.
    The report was then saved into the repository from Crystal Reports.  After logging into Info View the report was scheduled.  The report that normally returns results in less than 5 seconds from Crystal just hung in Info View.  After 4 hours the the task was cancelled.  Even though Info View presented that the report was "running", there ws NO thread started with the database.  This was confirmed by our DBA
    The report was rewritten from scratch using CR2008. This report was able to execute to import this report
    to Info View without error.

    Thanks for your response.
    Before I read your response, I tried tweaking my reports and was able to resolve the issue.
    Steps taken to solve the issue are the following:
    a. Value not showing one field of four (4) reports.
    Solution: I created new ones and integrate it in VB 6. The values are now showing. Tweaked on the line object properties, got a problem with the extended line but solved it by adjusting the height of the detail section.
    b. Value not showing in sub-report.
    Solution: My report used a shared variable so I can pass the condition to my sub-report. I used the new reports and just pass a query during runtime. The values in the subreport is still not showing. I added a formula and called the value in it. Values in the subreport is now showing.
    I'll try to update the crystal reports version as suggested at a later time.

  • Printing Crystal Report to Printer from Windows Service

    Hello Support,
    We are currently using 13.0.3.612 version of Crystal report. We want to print the report to the printer from the windows service. For printing the report to the printer we are using the “PrintOutputController.PrintReport” method. At our end on the Windows 8 machine this method is giving following error:
    Message: Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component.
    StackTrace:    at CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.Controllers.PrintOutputControllerClass.PrintReport(PrintReportOptions options)
       at PMLWLibrary.CrystalReport.LoadReports()
    And on the Windows 7 machine the report is sent to the print spooler, however the report is not printed on the printer. Not sure what could be causing the issue. Can you please let us know what could be causing the issue.

    Hi Brian,
    Thank you for your response.
    We tried running the service under the domain user account as well which has access to the printer, but even this fails. Further, from the regular .net application when we try to print the report to the printer, it directly prints the report without displaying any print window. So I assume that even from the service no print window should be launched. Can you please confirm on this.
    We are attaching herewith the code snippet which we have used to print to printer through the service. Can you please review the same and let us know if we are missing something here.
    Dim printReportOptions As New CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.Controllers.PrintReportOptions
    Dim printOutputController As New CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.Controllers.PrintOutputController
    Dim rptClientDoc As CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.ClientDoc.ISCDReportClientDocument
    rptClientDoc = ReportDocument.ReportClientDocument
    printReportOptions.PrinterName = "\\pc2\HP LaserJet 1015"
    printReportOptions.JobTitle = [Enum].GetName(GetType(ReportNames), PrinterSetting)
    printReportOptions.Collated = False
    printReportOptions.AddPrinterPageRange(1, 1)
    rptClientDoc.PrintOutputController.PrintReport(printReportOptions)

  • Crystal Report generating data from incorrect data source

    In dealing with a recent post about an upgrade to Crystal XI R2 mixing badly with an old VS 2003 project ( Update to CR XI R2 and service pack 4 issues with VS 2003 ), I've been attempting a few things to get past the issues with missing parameters and so on.  I found that I actually was using a parameter in the report I was trying to run, so I assigned the proper value to said parameter, ran the report, and lo and behold all was well.  The data was coming back correctly, no errors, everything seemed fine.<br><br>
    Then I checked the results against the production environment of this application, hosted on a remote server, and was disappointed to find that the reports were now coming back blank.  After some deeper investigation, it turned out that the data it was retrieving was coming from my development server and not the production server like it had in the past.  As far as I can tell, it is completely ignoring the dataset that I'm assigning to the report object (which is filling with the correct data) and just running the query built into the report, which is connected via ODBC to my development server database.  I have no idea what this is going to do when the application is run from the production environment itself, as in, my customers running the application from their desktops, and I have no way of testing this.<br><br>
    I will fully admit that the report may be poorly designed, because then and surely enough now I'm no crystal expert, but as I said in my previous thread, this all worked fine until I upgraded to XI R2 for another project.  Essentially what I want is for the report to accept the dataset and display ONLY that data, and not run a query against the ODBC connection.  Is there some way to force this behavior?  Here's a sample of my code, if it helps:<br><br>
    ReportDocument myReport = new ReportDocument();<br>
    DataSet myData = new DataSet();<br>
    MySqlDataAdapter myAdapter;<br>
    myAdapter = new MySqlDataAdapter();<br><br>
    file_name = ApplicationMain.file_path"
    Files
    Invoice_"invoice_number+".pdf";<br>
    MySqlCommand cmd = generate_command(invoice_number, false);<br><br>
    myAdapter.SelectCommand = cmd;<br>
    myAdapter.Fill(myData,"X");<br><br>
    myReport.Load(ApplicationMain.file_path+"
    Files
    Invoice.rpt");<br><br>
    myReport.SetParameterValue("requ_id",this.ID);<br>
    myReport.SetDataSource(myData);<br>
    myReport.ExportToDisk(CrystalDecisions.Shared.ExportFormatType.PortableDocFormat, file_name);<br><br>
    It's all relatively simple, create a dataset, load the report, assign the dataset to the report, export to a PDF.
    I've tried to reassign the report's connection to the currently connected database (code snippet below) but every time I end up getting a logon failed error message, even when I know for sure the login data is correct, and even when I'm just connecting to my local development server.<br><br>
    TableLogOnInfos crtableLogoninfos = new TableLogOnInfos();<br>
    TableLogOnInfo crtableLogoninfo = new TableLogOnInfo();<br>
    ConnectionInfo crConnectionInfo = new ConnectionInfo();<br>
    crConnectionInfo.ServerName = ApplicationMain.com_host;<br>
    crConnectionInfo.DatabaseName = ApplicationMain.com_database;<br>
    crConnectionInfo.UserID = ApplicationMain.com_username;<br>
    crConnectionInfo.Password = ApplicationMain.com_password;<br><br>
    foreach (CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.Table CrTable in myReport.Database.Tables)<br>
    {<br>
         crtableLogoninfo = CrTable.LogOnInfo;<br>
         crtableLogoninfo.ConnectionInfo = crConnectionInfo;<br>
         CrTable.ApplyLogOnInfo(crtableLogoninfo);<br>
    }<br><br>
    I ran that after loading the report, but received a failed login error every time.  Any suggestions on how to proceed with this?  I'm at a loss because up until now I've never had a problem like this with a crystal report, they always just took the datasets I gave them without ever running anything else.

    After attempting quite a few of the proposed solutions, nothing seemed to be working.  Due to the limited usage and number of reports in my application, I decided to try recreating them from scratch (there are only 3 and 2 are nearly identical) using only the crystal 9 integrated designer in VS2003.  My initial testing has been successful, even using the same base query that the failing reports were using.
    Dropping everything and recreating all of ones reports is not the greatest solution, but at worst it's a few hours of tweaking, as opposed to days of frustration messing around trying to get the "corrupted" reports to work again.  Thank you again for your assistance.

  • Crystal Report that reads from an XML file Datetime or Date

    I have a Crystal Report 2008 that reads from an XML file, the source File XML Date data looks like this: 2008-03-10
    But the Crystal Report interpreted by datatime, I need the Crystal Report to look like this: 2008/03/10 (date) not 2008-03-10T00:00:00-05:00 (datatime)
    Look at an example (source file xml, report, and parameter file to execute report) at url: http://www.5websoft.com/sample.zip
    Import the file in the design and will to verify that interpret incorrectly the fields of type date as datetime
    not mapped currently for fields..
    Help.....
    Thanks!

    You could always reformat the field to only display the date portion:
    Format Field > Date and Time tab; choose the date style you need here.
    Or create a formula to extract just the date and use this field in your report:
    date({table.field})

    Hi,
    Put an image field in your report, then change the image’s Graphic Location:
    right click the image, select Format Graphic, select Picture tab, click the conditional-formula button that look like a x2 and set the formula’s text to
    the name of the formula or parameter field that will contain the image’s URL.
    Save the formula and click the OK button. Save the report and test it.
    Be carefull with the size of the image field. If this size is not equal to the image itself it could get resized.
