I would make verify the database within Crystal report and then re publish it again. It seems it doesn't get the connection to the db.
Have you refreshed the database within Crystal Reports?
As Graham said, does it open in Crystal Viewer?
another thing would be to add the DSN (System DSN) onto your client machine as well. Maybe it is not getting a right connection.
Try it and let us know.
    Kind Regards

  • Crystal Reports 2008 - Error 1904 - DLLs will not register

I have just tried to install Crystal Reports 2008 on a PC which is running on XP Professional 2002 (Service Pack 3) and none of the DDLs will register.  I have administrator privileges on the local PC.
I could possibly try to register the DLLs manually but I don't understand why they won't register automatically.
I would really appreciate some assistance with this.

Install .NET Framework 1.1 and 2.0 and then any patches Windows has for them.
Install the C++ runtime distribution from Microsoft, search MS's site for it, they have multiple links for each OS.
Download the latest Microsoft installer, you can go to MS's web site to get it.
Check with your IT department to make sure they have not pushed out a "modified" administrator Profile to your PC. Open up regedit.exe and confirm you can change any key in Current User and Software and anything. Be sure to copy the original so you can right the value back and the usual warnings about modifying the registry.
Download CR 2008 SP1 full build: https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100006555792009E/cr2008win_sp1.exe ( requires and un-install of existing CR 2008 if any are on your PC )
Before running CR 2008 Install SP 3: https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100007123572010E/cr2008_sp3.exe
You could also try Disabling DEP, right click on My Computer, Properties, Advanced tab and Data Execution Prevention and make sure it's set to windows Processes only. Requires a re-boot if changed.
Disable any and all anti-virus and local firewalls, copy everything local and disconnect your network cable so you don't get anything nasty and try again.
If none of the above works then try someone elses computer, your system may be beyond repairing and could require an FDISK and starting all over.
    Thank you
    Don

  • Seagate Crystal Reports: Database Error

I am using Crystal reports Version 8 and frequently get the error 'Seagate Crystal Reports: Database Error' when I try to open a previously working crystal report file. The error occurs when I click on the Database menu. Every time I get this error I end up redesigning the report as the I have not yet found a solution and I cant run the report.
The error is a message box with the title 'Seagate Crystal Reports: Database Error' and an ok button - nothing else.
    Its very frustrating!
    Please help.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
What database are you using and how are you connecting to it?
What are you clicking in the Database menu:  Set Location, Verify Database, Show SQL Query?
Before opening the report, can you connect to the database first then open the report?
I would have expected an error code or a more descriptive error to follow.
    Thanks,
    Brian

    What is the workflow
    What is the application doing?
Iu2019m guessing you have a windows service application and you're trying to launch a UI (ie the viewer control) from the application or print using the vieweru2019s printing functionality programmatically(?).
If this is a Windows Service running under the local system account, then follow the instructions in the error message. (ie, bring up the properties of the service, go to the logon tab and check the checkbox that says u201CAllow service to interact with desktopu201D.   At least that should allow whatever popup is trying to come up display properly.

ASP.NET has a base process identity (typically {MACHINE}\ASPNET on IIS 5 or Network Service on IIS 6 and IIS 7, and the configured application pool identity on IIS 7.5) that is used if the application is not impersonating. If the application is impersonating via <identity impersonate="true"/>, the identity will be the anonymous user (typically IUSR_MACHINENAME) or the authenticated request user.
To grant ASP.NET access to a file, right-click the file in File Explorer, choose "Properties" and select the Security tab. Click "Add" to add the appropriate user or group. Highlight the ASP.NET account, and check the boxes for the desired access.

You have to be careful on the files you deploy. There is Crystal Reports 2008 (v. 12.x) and Crystal Reports Basic for Visual Studio 2008 (v. 10.5).
If you are referencing CR assemblies of version 12.x, then you have to use the runtime files from here:
    MSM
    https://share.sap.com/a:328ro3/MyAttachments/53ecd0f0-09d3-4633-ada3-eeb7639fcd37/
    MSI
    https://share.sap.com/a:328ro3/MyAttachments/b7b145e0-eab2-46d0-bab1-e072d4f2af35/
Note that CR 2008 (v. 12.x) does  not have 64 bit runtime.
If you referenced CR assemblies of version 10.5, then you need to use the runtime files from here:

  • Crystal Report XI - Error 723

    Hello,
I create a report with Crystal Report XI release 1 and i use an Advantage database.
On my computer i use an alias "DB" to locate the database ( the database is on c:\Database\ ).
When i run the report there is no problem.
If i want to use this report on an other computer (same alias DB exist but the path to the database is c:\Test\Database\ ) i have an error 723.
The alias used on the 2 computers is DB, just the path to the database is different.
I think that Crystal Report store the path to the database...
Normaly the report has just to store the name of the alias (not the path to the database).
Is there an option to avoid to store the path of the tables (and just working with the alias)?
    Thanks

    Hi Collings,
I understand from your query that you are getting the error code 723, when using Crystal Reports XI.

  • Crystal Report 2008 error in generating existing reports

    HI,
I have just now migrated my server from Win 2003, 32 bit to Win 2003, 64 bit. I was holding a valid license in the old server. Using the Product key and the registration number, I installed Crystal Report 2008 SP3 Build in the new server since Crystal report is supported in 64 bit version too. Now, while generating the existing reports from my application, I am getting error in event viewer as-
"The description for Event ID ( 4353 ) in Source ( Crystal Reports ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: The keycode assembly, BusinessObjects.Licensing.KeycodeDecoder.dll, cannot be loaded."
Can someone please suggest me how to resolve this error? Actually, while opening the crystal report from application, a pop-up comes as - "Internet Explorer Script error......._pe is undefined......Do you want to continue with this? " If I say Yes/No, it opens up the required page but drop down does not contain any info and 'OK' or 'CANCEL' button does not appear....
I need to solution ASAP. Please help.
    Thanks
    kmoondra

Crystal report is supported in 64 bit version too
Support on 64 bit OS does not necessarily mean that the product is 64 bit. E.g.; CR 2008 (12.x) is still only 32 bit. Only CRVS2010, CR 10.2 and CR 10.5 come in both 32 bit and 64 bit flavors.
If you are using 32 bit Crystal Report, make sure your app is compiled as 32 bit, not "Any CPU". If you compile as "Any CPU" the 64 bit oS will want 64 bit runtime for the app by definition. This will fail as there is no 64 bit runtime for CR 2008. E.g.; follow the advice in Don's post.

  • Crystal report 10 error - Help required

I am using crystal report 10.0.0.533 - Crystal report developer edition.
All of my reports are working fine without any issue, except one report.
It throws the below error message:
Crystal Reports ActiveX Designer error '80047cbd'
*You are attempting to use functionality that falls under the Crystal Decisions Report Creation API license. This system does not have a valid license, or the evaluation copy of the license has expired. Please contact Crystal Decisions to obtain a Report Creation API license.*

At line number 68 we have below code:
    Tables.Add "", , Session("oRecRep"), , "p2smon.dll"
This report was earlier used for Crystal 8.5. However Crystal 10 no longer uses p2smon.dll.
Alternative dll in Crystal report 10 is crdb_ado.dll, I replaced it in the code, however still it is not working.
Could anyone please help me with this issue?

  • Crystal Report server error

I'm new to posting here, so please bear with me!  I have installed, in this order, crystal report server XI R2 .Net server 2005 (used as a viewer for reports in our web application), Crystal report server XI (BO), Crystal Report XI, BO XI SP4 on Windows Server 2003 R2 running as a VM.  When I first install crystal report server XI R2 .Net server 2005, open our web app and run Crystal reports, they run just fine.  After installing BO XI, Crystal Reports XI and BO SP4, I get an error:

I have loaded this same configuration on similar servers over the past 2 years with no issue.  Can anyone help me?  Doesn't look like the memory is being touched on the server, it's an IIS server with 1.5 GB RAM.

    Hi Elaine,
So everything worked fine until you installed CRXI and BO R2 SP4?  Let me know if the order of installation I have below is correct:
    1.  crystal report server XI R2 .Net server 2005
    2.  Crystal report server XI (BO)
    3.  Crystal Report XI
    4.  BO XI SP4
I know the .net viewer is usually set up in the Crystal Reports Server installation.  I'm unsure as to why you have it listed separately.
Also which version of BO (Crystal Reports Server) are you installing (R1,R2,R3)?   Could you clearly outline your first 2 installation steps?

  • Crystal Report Initilization error

    Hello
I am new to Crystal Reports. I have created a Crystal Report (Ver 12.0) and linked it into Visual Studio 2008. I have copied all
(CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.dll, CrystalDecisions.ReportSource.dll, CrystalDecisions.Shared.dll, CrystalDecisions.Web.dll) the required Crystal Reports dll's into my Projects \bin folder and referenced them from there. Everything runs fine on my development machine but, when I publish the application on the web server and try to open the report it gives me error
"The type initializer for 'CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument' threw an exception.
    Source   :CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine"
Is there something that I am missing?
    Thank you in advance.
