Crystal report with Details section

Dear All,
I design one Crystal report. In that can we add Details section below the Report footer.
When i add Details section it is adding below Details section like Details a and below Details b.
I want this Details b section adds below Report Footer. Can anybody suggest me how to add that is ?

Thnks for reply. In my Crystal report i added two page header like Page header a and Page header b.
In Page header a i shows the heading of columns and in Page header b also i am showing the headin column. Coz my all columns name not fited in one Page header. Tha's y i taken two Page header.
Now i also added two Details section for takeing multiple value from database. Like Details a and Details b. But it is showing one by one.
I want to show record in details section of specific column. Like following design. Can u plz tell me how to design ?

Does BOXI support crystal reports with parameter references in formulas?

I am designing a report in Crystal Reports XI Developer that contains parameters, which are passed to a stored procedure and are also used within formulas ( in Crystal Syntax ie. {?FORMAT_ID} ) in the report itself.
I can run the report successfully in CRXI Developer. The formulas use the correct values from the parameters entered during execution and everything looks good.
I then deploy the report to Business Objects Enterprise XI. I do all of the things necessary to manage the report including setting up the proper database connection information and default parameter values.
When I run the report using the Crystal Report Viewer, I get the following error message:
Error in File Forecasting.rpt:
Error in formula <Report Format>.
'if (not isNull({?FORMAT_ID} ) ) then
This field name is not known.
Details: errorKind
This happens when I press the "Preview" button in the Manage Object dialog from Crystal or when I run the report using InfoView.
I have changed the formulas and it doesn't seem to matter what the specific content of the formula is; other than the existence of a parameter reference in the formula. If I comment out the parameter and replace it with a hard-coded value, it gets through the formula fine.
Does Business Objects Enterprise XI support crystal reports with parameter references in the formulas?

Hi,
In Crystal Reports under File -> Report Options >check convert Null Values to default > Verify on first refresh > Verify stored procedures on first refresh.
This corrected the issue by allowing the query engine time to locate those columns and map them to the query being sent by the report.
The convert null values was added because those field were being used in the record selection and grouping.

Invoice in crystal reports with group by basedocnum Delivery and line text

Hi there,
as i got some troubles with a CR i've tried to make a new report.
i use OINV, INV1, OCRD, NNM1, OCTG, OSCP in the report.
the details section is grouped by inv1.basedocnum. In the group header it should show the
inv1.basedocnum and the inv1.docdate. when printed does not respect the order of lines after group by
basedocnum. is for the case where a bill is grouped into several invoices I have lines in text
interspersed between articles. for example:
Delivery nº 1 de fecha 12/04/2011
This is a line text
001     Product1     1,00     3,00     3,00
002     Product2     2,00     2,00     4,00
Delivery nº 4 de fecha 13/04/2011

I thus first printed text lines and then the article and does not respect the order of lines per document

One possibility for this is that the user has an unusual printer driver set as their default printer. I would check that they have a regular printer installed and set as the default.
The other possibility is that they have their IE option set to display text as small.   If you go to "View" -> "Text Size" - what size do they have the text set to?

How to create user editable Crystal Report with dynamic dataset

What I would like to achieve:
A program loads a report in runtime updates list of database fields (possibly includes sample data), open report in "Crystal Reports 2011" (or 2008) where user customizes report and saves it. Later on the program loads the report, fills actualized data and displays it in .net report viewer.
What I do:
CrReport = New CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument
CrReport.Load(TemplateFilename)
Dim Results As DataTable
DataTable is filled from a database
CrReport.SetDataSource(mResults)
CrReport.SaveAs(NewReportPath, True)
The NewReportPath is opened in the default program.
What are the problems
The report is open in preview mode (not in design).
When the field is added to the report the designer asks for XML datasource on preview.

The short answer is that it is not possible. A single quote/apostrophe in string parameter passed to a Crystal Report with Command datasource connecting to a SQL Server database, using sqljdbc driver does not escape the special character correctly. When doing a preview in the Crystal Reports IDE it allows you to escape the input parameter as expected and work correctly, but through the JRC component it fails. For string parameters without special sql server characters I experience no problems at all. When replacing the Command with a direct table there is also no problem.
Reproduction:
1. create a database db1, create a table table1 with a String type column col1.
2. Create new report Report1.rpt, create a connection to above, Add Command using 'SELECT col1, col2, col3 FROM table1 WHERE col1 = '{?Par1}' . Add a parameter field Par1 : String
3. In your java stand alone application using JRC add the parameter Par1 with a value "Jon Doe's Value" containing a single apostrophe. Export to PDF. (I also tried MSWord and this failed too, similar behavior). Additionally, in another test try to replaceAll("'","''") to escape it, preventing the code to break, but now it does not retrieve the expected row anymore and you end up with an empty report.

Link to a crystal report with prompt from xcelsius dashboard

Hi
How can we make a link to a crystal reports with a country promt?
If I named the prompt ContryParam in Crystal.
And I want to open this crystal report by sending f.eks UK as countryname to this report.
What will the link be seeing as in xcelsius?
How will the connection be made from xcelsius to this spesific crystal report`?

I am a new user of Crystal Reports 2008.
I have created a report with charts in it. The input data comes from a csv text file.
Can I set the name of this text file as an input parameter?
as I need to generate 44 similar reports with different text filenames(and data)?

I did exactly what you said.
Just to see any change, I first gave a bad report file name just to see if I am accidentally pointing to a different file,
but I got an error saying report not found.
Then I renamed my original datafile name and generated a report and it still generated one without giving an error.
Then I also gave a junk name to the logoninfo and printed that name, the new name was assigned to logoninfo, but the code did not error out.
It ended up generating the report.
Now here is what I think is happening,
1) The save data in report option seems to be still on even though I have turned it off in 2 locations
a) file -> Report Options
b) file -> Options -> Reporting tab.
2) For some reason the logoninfo is getting ignored as well.
Since I did not see any answers yesterday I posted a link to this thread on the .Net forum

and Ludek Uher says that I am connecting to the text file via a DAO database engine and so need to use the same code for changing the text file as for changing an Access database.
But the link he gave me tells me to try the same thing that we have been trying..
Here is my plan,
1) I will first try and find out why my save data with report option is still on ( but it shows off in Crystal ).
2) why is LogonInfo getting ignored.
Meanwhile any suggestions from anyone are welcome.

Looking at the original thread, you are connecting to the text file via the DAO database engine:
"I added the text file as follow, new connection -> Access/Excell (DAO) -> select the file and the database type as text"
Thus I would use the same code for changing the text file as for changing an Access database. There are several items that could cause these slow down problems. Without knowing more about the way your environment is setup, I could cause more problems, by giving out performance tips. You would need to be more specific in your post.

O/S
App. Server
Hardware Spec's
ETC.
I see that this post has been out here for some time. So if this is still a problem for you I'll try and help, if you provide more information.

Exporting Crystal Reports with embedded Xcelsius content to PDF

Hi,
I have a crystal report with an embedded xcelsius chart. I would like to schedule this report using Crystal Server 2008, sending it monthly as a PDF file attached to an email. But after exporting the report through Crystal Server, the xceslsius content is just blank. Shouldn't this be working?

What is the version of Adobe Reader? Adobe Reader 9 should be there.Also check whether you have Flash Palyer/ flash Active X control installed.
If you can view the dashboard after exporting it to PPT,it means you have Flash Player installed. You need to try with Adobe Reader 9.

Unable to save the Crystal Report with Dynamic paramters in Enterprise

We are not able to save our Crystal Report with dynamic parameters in Enterprise, Error message as follows :
"Failed to read data from report file C:\DOCUME1\...\crw{...}.rpt. Reason : Failed to read parameter object"

Hello,
The error message occurs because the user or group who created the LOV does not have the appropriate rights in Business View Manager.
Try this hope its helps
To resolve this issue follow the steps,
1.Log on to Business View Manager as administrator.
2.Click View > Repository Explorer.
3.Right-click Dynamic Cascading Prompts. Click Edit Rights.
4.Click the appropriate user or group receiving the error.
5.Click the Granted option for the right to View, Edit & Set Security rights.
6.Click OK. Close Business View Manager.
The user or group is now able to save a report with dynamic parameters to Enterprise.
