Please forgive me for posting in the CR .NET forum because we are using the full Crystal Reports 2008 product and I did not see a category for it. If there is a better forum for this question, please let me know or feel free to move it.
We are having trouble deploying our crystal reports 2008 reports to a Windows Server 2008 R2 server in an aspx application...
I have been working on this issue for 4-days and cannot seem to make any progress, so I would really appreciate your help.
Our Environment:
Development Computer (32-bit, WinXP)
VS2008 (fully updated, was not installed with its Crystal Reports feature)
Crystal Reports 2008 SP3 (downloaded and installed "cr2008_sp3_fullbuild")
Database Server (64-bit)
"SERVER2" is a Microsoft SQL Server 2008 server, fully updated
Web Server (64-bit)
"SERVER3" is a Microsoft Server 2008 R2 Web server.
We have an application that is installed on the Web server and it pulls data from the database server.
The webpages are accessing the database properly. There is a ShowReport.aspx webpage that has the
CrystalReportsViewer on it. We send parameters and logon information to ShowReport.aspx. ShowReport
works properly on our development computer and the report looks good, but it fails on the web server.
We downloaded CRRuntime_12_3_mlb.msi (X86) from SAP/CR and installed it on the web server without any issues.
Our application pool on the web server for this application is set to 32-bit mode. When I launch the
application, it works properly with the database and displays data on web pages, but when I try to
view a report on ShowReport, I get the following error message:
An error has occurred while attempting to load the Crystal Reports runtime.
Either the Crystal Reports registry key permissions are insufficient or the Crystal Reports runtime is not installed correctly.
Please install the appropriate Crystal Reports redistributable (CRRedist*.msi) that contains the version of the Crystal Reports runtime (x86, x64, or Itanium) that is required.
According to everything that I have read, I have properly matched the DLLs: On the development computer, "cr2008_sp3_fullbuild" was installed; On
the web server, "CRRuntime_12_3_mlb.msi (X86)" was installed. They are both Crystal Reports 2008 and not .NET. CR.NET was not installed on our development computer, so our application was built with full Crystal Reports 2008 SP3. On our development computer, .ENGINE is 12.0.2000.0 and
the same version is on the web server.
So, I am completely at a loss as to why we are encountering this error. Help, Please!!!

You are in the right place for Crystal Reports and you may also want to look in the BI Forums.
A good place to start is the Help file for Crystal Reports Designer and download our sample reports. They don't use B1 as the data source but it will help to see how to use CR.
You need to specify specific questions and "how to's". Books have been written on how to use Crystal reports which is beyond the scope of this forum on one post.

Crystal report for VS pack 13 always crashes my VS2013

Hi,
I have some old c# projects in VS2008 with Crystal report now have to convert to VS2013, but since VS2013 doesn't support Crystal report so I download this pack 13 and install it. After installed this pack, I can see the option of adding crystal report as new item into my project. But the problem is after I adding crystal report and before going to report designer, my VS2013 crashed. The VS2013 crashed also if I try to open existing crystal report file. Any idea? I download the pack from here: http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-7824 and use Install Executable to install.
My OS is Win7 Enterprise SP1 with 64-bit OS
My VS2013 is Microsoft VS Premium 2013 with Update 4 version 12.0.31101.00

It works fine on my Windows 7 64 bit PC.
Were VS 2010 and 2013 installed before you installed CR for VS?
I suggest you uninstall any and all CR for VS packages as seen in the Programs and Features, do a repair install of VS 2013 and then install CR for VS SP 13.
Doing a repair install of CR for VS does not integrate into both VS versions, must do uninstall of CR for VS first.
The installer should detect you have both versions of VS installed and update each one.

AIR2 and Crystal Reports

Hi,
I need to build a simple Flex front end for a bunch of Crystal Reports,
basically a few forms, which supposed to pass params to CR (select reports, dates, filter params,
sort of building SQL Query: select * from... where param1='value1'...).
Lets say I build it as AIR2 app and kick up Crystal Reports as
file.openWithDefaultApplication()
Any way to pass parameters to CR without explicit Java involved ?
Is there any integration between them ? Tools, libraries ?
Anything new in AIR2 for Crystal Reports?
I downloaded CR plugin for Eclipse.
I do understand that there is Java API for CR:

Don't have experience with CR, but plenty with Java and Flex.
Done little BusinessObjects years ago.
So, I guess, need to use BlazeDS between Flex & Java, right ?
Or maybe do Flex - to Java via WebService (so I don't need Blaze) ?
Alternatively, can build GUI in Java (e.g. JSP).
Please advise.

Error Message while connecting Crystal reports with SAP CRM

I am able to establish a connection with Crystal Reports with SAP CRM but after that i get a error Function module "Crystal/Get_ODS_field_Info "not found & Database connection error RFC/invalid/ handle".

Cannot access Crystal Reports after adding SP1

On a new install of Crystal Reports 2008 I downloaded and added SP1 (cr121_clickonce.zip) to try to update my .NET to the new version of Crystal. I now get the error message:
The procedure entry point ?PrintLegend@CMapXLegend@CSLib300@@QAEXJJJJJ@Z could not be located in the dynamic link library cslibu-3-0.dll.
I also added the update from 'cr120_redist_install.zip' which will allow my users to access the .NET files and programs they need. (This I did only on one machine to test its success)
I am sure it is a case of inexperience but can you help me get back in business with Crystal Reports 2008

That file is not the SP 1 download. Sp 1 is here:

So. At this point, I'm not really clear as what has been done and why.

- this sounds kinda muddled up...

I'd recommend uninstalling CR 2008 on your development system. Reinstall and then Apply SP 1 from the above link. This will update you to CR 2008 SP1 on the development computer.
Now, if you are then trying to deploy a .NET app to a client, use the MSI from here:

I'm still having problems with this registration issue.
I'm using InstallShield 2011 for the installation setup.
I've included the CRRuntime_13_0.msm file. (That is the only MSM file I included, are the others needed also?)
I've included the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package (x64 and the x86 versions)
I have tried to do a test install on both a 64bit and a 32bit Windows 7 computer and it keeps giving me the crtslv.dll failed to register error on both computers. I thought it might just be due to the 32 bit MSM causing the problem on the 64bit computer, but I can't even get it to install on a 32bit computer. (On the 32bit computer, I even removed the x64 bit version of the MS C++ 2005 Redistributable just to make sure it wasn't causing a problem).
Can anyone give me any more suggestions?
I need our application to be installed on both 32bit and 64bit computers. Is only having the 32bit MSM going to cause me problems? I'm not real familiar with trying to include the runtime exe's instead of the MSM and knowing which one would need to be installed on a particular type computer.

How can I download the Crystal Report Viewer XI

We need a way for users who recieve .rpt files as email attachements distributed from BOE XI R2 to be able to view the reports and use drill-down functionality without being able to edit the report.
I found the Crystal Reports Viewer XI R2 release notes at help.sap.com but need to know from where to download so that we can install on users' machines. The note references CRViewerXI.exe but I need to know where to get that file?

As a seperate issue: we're getting an error when trying to open a report generated out of boe xi r2 sp4....the report does have "save data" with report.... I send to myself via email, save the rpt but when I try to open on a machine with viewer installed....it tries and gets to the end and presents an 'unexpected error' with detail:

Where to download Crystal report?

Dear All,
In the How-to document of CR, it says
On the Crystal reports DVD that is provided with SAP Business One 8.8, locate the setup files for the following and run them in the order shown below:
Crystal reports 2008 sp1
Crystal reports 2008 fp3
Is there anyway I can download it from SAP portal or I have to request a DVD from SAP?

Crystal Reports 2008 download

Hi
I'm using Crystal Reports 2008 since 01.01.2008 - we bought it when it was Crystal Decisions Crystal Reports - not SAP Crystal Reports.
Now I want to obtain new installation with all SP included (system reinstallation) but it's impossible - all downloads needs SAP account.
What about old customers that don't use SAP? Where can I find support? How to obtain newest version of CR2008 ??

Does any one knows where can i download Crystal Report XI R2?
In [http://www.businessobjects.com/product/freetrials.asp] i can only find Crystal Reports XI not Crystal Reports XI R2. After i downloaded the version is 11.0.0.1282. Is this the correct version for CR XI R2?

Cannot download PrintControl.cab for Crystal Report Basic (VS2008)

Our legacy ASP.NET application uses Crystal Report Basic (from Visual Studio 2008), and it can't download PrintControl.cab from address : http://resources.businessobjects.com/support/downloads/microsoft/vs_2008/printcontrol.cab
Is there any new address to download PrintControl.cab ?
I also experienced this problem last year (PrintControl for Crystal Report for Visual Studio 2008), but the new address of PrintControl.cab is not working now.

No and no.
All stand-alone versions of CR had to always be purchased. CR8 / 8.5 can not be purchased anymore as it's out of support for close to 10 years. You can still purchase CR 11.5 (XI r2).
CR XI r2, patched to Service pack 6 supports WIN 7.
