  • Crystal report runtime 13.0.2 passive upgrade fail

    Hi,
    my configuration is:
    - Windows 7 ultimate 32 bit.
    - Crystal report (13.0.1) installed
    If i upgrade product (Crystal Report) manually all work fine.
    If i install in passive mode, instead, with below command line, the upgrade fails and product remain unchanged.
    msiexec /i CRRuntime_32bit_13_0_2.msi /passive
    Can you verify this problem ?
    Thanks in advance for your response.
    Best Regards.

    Hello,
    CR for Vs 2010 requires an uninstall first. I'll check with out build team to see if this is supported.
    In the mean time you could add this to your installer:
    Update Options
    The Windows Installer command line can apply or remove updates (patches for example) through these options:
    msiexec.exe [/update][/uninstall[/package<product_code_of_package>]]
    <path_to_package>/update - apply updates (if there are multiple updates, you can separate them through the ";" character)
    /uninstall - remove an update for a product (if there are multiple updates, you can separate them through the ";" character)
    /package - specifies the package for which the update is removed
    Sample command lines:
    msiexec.exe /update "C:\MyPatch.msp"
    msiexec.exe /uninstall {1BCBF52C-CD1B-454D-AEF7-852F73967318}
    /package {AAD3D77A-7476-469F-ADF4-04424124E91D}

  • Crystal Reports Server XI Manual

    Is there a manual anywhere on this site for using Crystal Reports Server XI?   We received it with our normal developer's crystal reports and we have installed it, but do not know "how" the process works to actually use it to publish a report for users to actually use...
    TIA!

  • SQL Connections remain open after Crystal Report closes

    I am wirting an interface to use the crystal report viewer to print reports, connecting to a Progress Open Edge 10.1B database.  From our application we declare the application, report, exportoptions and connectionproperties objects and pass these to the crystal reports viewer.  Once the report is printed we release the objects and set their variables for null.  However we are finding that the SQL connection to the database is remaining connected and we can only release the connection by manually going in a disconnecting.
    I have read in forums that people use .dispose or .close to release the connection, however we do not have access to these methods as we do not use .NET.  Are there any methods we can use to disconnect these sql connections?

    Hi Dean,
    Moved to the Legacy Application forums. Likely using the RDC as your report engine.
    You should still be able to close and dispose of the report objects. They are not specific to .NET.
    In VB it would look something like these lines::
        crReport.Close
        Set CrystalActiveXReportViewer1.ReportSource = Nothing
        Set crReport = Nothing
    Once the report is closed it should disconnect from the DB. If you close the application does that disconnect?
    Have you looked on 4GL's site for info on how to?
    Thank you

  • Freed goods item too in Value in crystal report

    Hi,
    iam invoicing SAP out put in Crystal format, now i required the free goods item  too in value( only in crystal report).
    Pls throw some light on this issue.
    Regards
    Shafique

    you need to total the pricing good and free goods? correct
    you should use manual running totals to calculate the values
    RESET               whileprintingrecords;
                   Numbervar  X := 0;
    CALCULATION          whileprintingrecords;
                   Numbervar  X := x + ;
    DISPLAY               whileprintingrecords;
                   Numbervar  X;
                   X
    im sure you have a group by invoice number in there.
    you will need to create 1 set of the above formulas for each total. (1 pricing, 1 free)
    reset placed in group header or report header dependent on where you want the values displayed
    calculation placed where it should be calc, details usually unless you have a group by goods
    display where you want the values to display in the report.
    the calculation formula may need to use a formula to capture good type

  • Two problmes between  Crystal Reports 2008 and Bex Query

    Hi Gurus.
    I have two problems with Crystal Reports 2008 when It obtains data from a Bex Query (SAP MDX query connection).
    1)     I have defined some Parameters Fields using the follow options:
    Type: String
    List of Values: Dynamic
    Value Options Level1:
                         Show on (Viewer) Panel :Editable
                          Prompt text: <text>
                          Sort Order: Ascending by value
                          Prompt With description Only : False
                          Optional Prompt: True
                          Allow multiple values: True
                          Allow discrete values: True
                          Allow range values: False
    When I execute the report with the client of Crystal Reports 2008 (the developer tool), in the initial screen shows a list box where I can select the values from the left box and add it to the left box (as a usually filter). When the number of options (LOV) is more than  the maximum of the system, I have a input box bellow the list box, where I can insert any value (manually) and a button to insert it into the left box. When I publish the Report in the infoview, this filter is modified and the input box where I can introduce manually values is not showed and I can insert only the values showed in the list box, it causes that I can`t select a lot of values that is in the master data of SAP BW, because they arenu2019t listed in the list box.
    There is any option to ability this option in the infoview.
    2)     My Bex query, have a date filter with variable in the restricted key figures, when I execute a Crystal Reports, the infoview (and the Crystal Reports 2008 designer) ask me 2 times the same date, first only the date and second the date and the rest of parameters (introduced in the report of Crystal Reports).
    Why I need insert the date 2 times? How can I modify the Crystal Report for ask me only one time all the parameters?.
    Thanks.

    Hi Abhilash.
    Thank you for your information.
    1) Yes, the parameters are created in the Crystal Reports designer. I have created the parameters in the Crystal Report because I use the same Bex Query to create some Crystal Report, in other case, I will need create some Bex Query.
    2)The Bex query has the date filters and I have created some filters in Crystal Reports designer, the date filter from the Bex query is created automatically in the Crystal Report Designer but I don't use it, I haven't created it anytime. I use my filters only in the record selection. The date filters from the Bex query is showed as Static, and I can`t delete it, if I modify the parameter to dynamic or static with values, at first step ask me again static without values and the second step of the report execution ask me the parameter as I have defined in Crystal Reports Designer, my parameters fields are dynamic. A lot of reports have subreport, but I have created one of them without subreport (to trial) and the Crystal Reports ask me the date filters at first execution, and when I insert the date filters, in the second step, ask me the date filters again and my parameters fields again.
    Thank you again.

  • Limitation on data passed to Crystal Report

    Hello, I have a very basic question that I cannot find the answer to in the manual or online.
    We are pulling data from a SQL 2005 database.  Specifically, we are querying information that contains very complicated legal instructions - the equivalent of two dozen pages of text.
    We are finding that the data is being truncated once it reaches the report to about 7 pages....
    Is there a limit on the amount of data Crystal Report XI can bring across from a single record. Or is this a limitation of the report itself? I am working with the developers who are struggling to make this work correctly and I am trying to get to the bottom off this.
    Thanks for your time!
    Dirk

    I believe there is a limit to the length of string Crystal can work with, although I can't remember what it is off the top of my head, but probably 65534 characters - once upon a time it was 256 characters!
    You could try working around this limitation by creating a few formulas, grabbing, say, the nth 1000 characters and storing it into a variable.
    eg:
    stringvar part1:=left(YourField, 1000);
    stringvar part2:=mid(YourField, 1001, 2000);
    stringvar part3:=mid(YourField, 2001, 3000);
    etc...
    Of course, you could wrap that up in a loop to automate it if you'd prefer.
    Then, create a formula for each of the above "part(x)" variable to display the contents:
    //Formula @show_part1
    stringvar part1
    //Formula @show_part2
    stringvar part2
    etc...
    Finally, drop each of these "show" formulas into a single textbox and hopefully, you should get what you need.
    If not, chop it up in the SQL command/view/whatnot and return it as seperate columns and concat them in a similar textbox fashion?
    Let us know how you get on...
    Ta,
    J

  • Crystal Reports xi r2 integrating with vs2005

    Hi,
    I'm having a problem getting these two integrated and working properly with all the functionality that I need.
    I installed vs2005 and then CRXIR2, and now in vs2005 when I have a report open, I have 2 Crystal Report tabs at the top and in each the options are repeated 4 times for each menu item, makes for a very cluttered menu.
    Also, when I an existing report to a vb2005 asp project in the property pages/web config it adds 2 assemblies for each items, one for version 10.2.3600 and one for 11.5.3700. Is there a way that I can eliminate this.
    And lastly, I use ODBC connections to a database and with the 10.2.3600 assemblies it was disconnecting right away and closing the session after the queries, while the new 11.5.3700 ones do not seem to kill the sessions and fills up the connections until I manually go out and clear them up.
    I know thats a lot to deal with, but I'm sure that they are all related.
    Thank you very much for your help.
    James

    Hi James,
    Microsoft released an update for VS.NET 2005 which broke the integration of Crystal XI R2 with .NET 2005 when applied.  Just do an uninstall/reinstall of Crystal XI R2 and that should fix the multiple tab and drop down issue as well as it putting in both 10.2 and 11.5 assemblies.
    You should probably create a new thread for the 2nd problem if it persists after the uninstall/reinstall.

  • Pre-Purchase Question - Deploying Crystal Report to SSRS Report Server

    Our company has recently installed a SQL 2005 server for our accounting system.  I had intended going down the path of using SQL Reporting Services as our reporting tool and deploying them to the builtin Report Server.  However, I've been using Crystal Reports for years and find it much more user friendly for a non-programmer to use.  I can actually write a report in Crystal, SSRS took me 3 days to achieve very little, I believe it requires too much SQL reporting knowledge for a beginner.
    After spending many hours trawling the net looking for a solution to this problem, I found that Crystal comes as part of Visual Studio.  However, I also believe the version of Visual Studio that comes with SQL2005 is the basic version, and I'd need the Pro version to get the Crystal add on.
    To this end, I've downloaded the trial version of Crystal 2008 and installed it.  I find I can write a report in Crystal, and then I can manually add that report to a SSRS project. When I open the Crystal Report within Visual Studio I can see all the correct Crystal toolbars and menus etc, so it would appear that the installation of Crystal for Visual Studio has integrated properly.  I can then deploy that report to the Report server and see the report on the web page.  However clicking to open the report then opens the full Crystal Reports application, instead of just displaying the report in the web page.
    I've been unsuccessful in finding a solution to the above deployment problem.  I'm seeking a solution so that my users can just see the report without Crystal itself opening up.  I've been advised that there is a Crystal Report Server that I can purchase, but I don't wish to go to that expense when we already have this functionality built into our SSRS server.
    Can you please advise if it's possible to deploy the Crystal report to the SSRS Report Server and then open the report within the web page without opening the full Crystal app, and if so what steps I would need to take to implement this.
    If this issue can be resolved, I'll be more than happy to purchase the full Crystal 2008 package and forget SSRS as a bad idea.
    Sorry to be so long winded, I wanted to be clear what the issue is.  Any information /advice would be very much appreciated.

    Hello Diane,
    I would not know if Crystal Report can be used with SSRS but I know for sure that you can use the embedded Crystal Reports Version with comes with VS 2005 or VS 2008 to create reports and to display them in web and windows application.
    We have lots of samples how to do this in our [dev community|https://boc.sdn.sap.com/].
    Also, you can use [Crystal Reports 2008|https://boc.sdn.sap.com/developer/library/CR2008SDK] with MS SQL 2005.
    Other products like Crystal Reports server can also use MS SQL 2005.
    Please see our [supported platforms for CR 2008|http://service.sap.com/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000712280&_OBJECT=011000358700000675322008E] on windows.
    Hope this helps

  • Crystal report 10 export to MAPI does not work in Windows 7

    hi:
    I am using CR10 10.0.5.1025 in Windows 7. I tried to export a report to MAPI and got error:
    Error 2147500037 returned by function <MAPIResolveName>
    This error occurs both Office 2007 and 2003
    Any one see this error before?

    SOLUTION
    Hi, (excuse my bad english)
    The client have and use Windows 7 SP1 x64 Ultimate version .
    He use Crystal Report XI R2 Sp6
    PROBLEM:   He has a MAPI error Error when exporting PDF to MAPI.
                          He Receiving the following error message when trying to export PDF Crystal Report to MAPI.
                          Error 2147500037 returned by function <MAPIResolveName>
                          Email Client: MS Outlook 2007
    SOLUTION:   Were I found on the internet.
    Auhtor is: Andrew Whittam
    Web Link: http://www.2icsoftware.com/Support/Forum/tabid/110/aff/2/aft/1105/afv/topic/Default.aspx
    Microsoft decided to no longer support the 'Simple MAPI' email system in Windows 7. Although countless applications use it to manage emails, including 2ic Pallets, a replacement system has not been provided.
    So Windows 7 users have two options:
    Manually create email messages by copying and pasting information from the '2icEmail.txt' file that is created whenever there is an emailing error, i.e. every time you try emailing with Windows 7.
    Downgrade the '  C:\Windows\System32\Mapi32.dll  ' file to an earlier version, i.e. replace Mapi32.dll with the same file from a Windows Vista or XP computer.
    Downgrading seems to work ok. Mapi32.dll on Windows 7 has version number 1.0.2536.0, which is the same as Mapi32.dll on Windows Vista and XP. However, downgrade AT YOUR OWN RISK and check with your system administrator before making any changes.
    It is strongly recommended to rename the existing Mapi32.dll file rather than delete it so it can be restored if you find other programs do not work after downgrading. To downgrade, follow the steps below:
    Open Windows Explorer, navigate to '  C:\Windows\System32   ' (or '  C:\Windows\SysWOW64  ' for 64 bit operating systems), find Mapi32.dll and rename it to Mapi32.dll.OLD or Mapi32.dll.2ic. If you receive the message "You require permission from TrustedInstaller to make changes to this file." or some other permissions-related error, change the Owner of the file and permissions before trying again, i.e. right-click on Mapi32.dll, select Properties, Security tab, click Advanced, Owner tab, click Edit..., select "Administrators", OK the dialog boxes, again right-click on Mapi32.dll, select Properties, Security tab, click Edit, select "Administrators", allow Full Control and OK the dialog boxes. For more detail, good instructions can be found at http://helpdeskgeek.com/windows-7/w...dinstaller.
    Run the 'Email patch' from the Downloads - Utilities page of this website. This patch installs and registers the files below.
    C:\Windows\System32\Mapi32.dll
    C:\Windows\System32\MSmapi32.ocx
    Note they are only installed when missing or replacing an older version. For 64 bit operating systems these files are updated in the 'C:\Windows\SysWOW64' folder. Alternatively these files can be manually copied from a different computer and registered using Regsvr32.
    The email functionality can be checked using the 'Export/email test spreadsheet', also available on the Downloads - Utilities page. Using this spreadsheet to generate an email on Windows 7 before downgrading should result in an error message. Emailing should work after running the patch.
    RESULT:       I fixed the problem customer PC. TEST and Verification are fonctionnal.

  • Crystal Reports, SAP B1 - connect OINV, OPCH (A/R Invoice, A/P Invoice)

    What I need to do is to connect the two SAP B1 v9.0 tables listed above (A/P Invoice OINV, and A/R Invoice OPCH) in a Crystal report WITHOUT SQL.  How do you connect these tables?  Purpose of report is for sales commissions.  Existing customer report combines SAP B1 data from these tables but is done manually in Excel.  Attempting to create report in Crystal for automation purposes.  Will also include INV1 and PCH1 for detailed line item marketing document information.  Thanks for any assistance.

    Since the picture doesn't show what is actually linked to what, here is a written description of the links I used between tables (with 2 alternates in case I'm wrong):
    OPRJ.PrjCode left join INV1.Project
    INV1.BaseEntry left join RDR1.DocEntry
    INV1.BaseLine left join RDR1.LineNumber
    INV1.DocEntry left join OINV.DocEntry
    INV1.ObjType left join OINV.ObjType
    INV1.ItemCode inner join OITM.ItemCode
    OINV.CardCode inner join OCRD.CardCode
    OINV.SlpCode left join OSLP.SlpCode

  • Crystal Report orange link arrow to SAP B1 not working

    Hello,
    I couldn't find a way to insert the actual "arrow" icon into a Crystal report so I copied one from one of the Crystal Reports imbedded in SAP B1 9.0.  I subsequently edited the hyperlink to point to the document number I wanted.
    From the Format Editor dialog box, Hyperlink, the hyperlink website address is:
    http://$b1$/link?table=OPCH&key=1
    There was a formatting button to the right of the website address line.  Clicking on it yielded a formula workshop dialog box that I edited as follows:
    'http://$b1$/link?table=OPCH&key='+ToText({OPCH.DocNum},0,"","")
    The Crystal Report runs fine in B1 and shows the link arrows.  Hovering the cursor above the hyperlink in print preview yields the specific information for that record. For example, when the report shows A/P Invoice #4394 the screen shows a small pop-up with "http://$b1$/link?table=OPCH&key=4394".  Clicking on the arrow brings up a window with a blank! A/P invoice with the cursor located in the "Vendor Invoice No." box (OPCH.NumAtCard field).
    Why is this not working to bring up the correct A/P invoice?  There are no errors indicated.
    Thanks for any assistance.

    Thank you, Nagarajan.
    Those instructions are exactly what I've done with my report.  However, the instructions start with the phrase "manually insert link arrow into Crystal report".  OK, I did a Google search on "insert link arrow" and "crystal" and "reports" and "SAP" and there was only ONE webpage with these words on the ENTIRE internet--the page you sent me to.  Crystal reports online help has nothing relating to a "link arrow".  If there's some special aspect of this link arrow that I'm missing, it sure is a secret because there's nothing out there on this subject.  I guess I'll have to copy the graphic from previous reports each time I need to do this.
    CORRECT ANSWER:
    In any case, I was able to resolve the issue by changing the text in the formatting dialog box from OPCH.DocNum to PCH1.DocEntry and it worked.  Why it worked is beyond me.  Guessing seems to be the one defining feature of doing work with SAP B1.

  • Please help with my crystal reports server 2008 trial setup

    Firstly, if this is in the wrong section feel free to move it. I find this forum is to big to find the information i need, in fact trying to find anything i need on this website is almost impossible. So far not impressed with SAP at all! we download a trial and when we have problems nobody can support us and we have to post in the forums for answers, which i find disgracefull to be honest. So this post is my last attempt of finding the answers to my problems or we are going to forget crystal reports server for good! I was also told that if i wanted help setting this up then i would have to pay, thats not how things usually go when we download a trial of any software!
    Anyway, rant over!!
    Right, we have windows server 2008 and have installed crystal reports server 2008. So far all i have managed to get working is the reports themselves which run and schedule fine. The dashboard and business views are so confusing i just dont get it at all, the manuals dont help either becuase they are rubbish basically. But my first problem is trying to get windows AD authentication working! easier said than done. I have spent 4 days trying to get it working but nothing is happening. this is what i have done so far
    Set up all the options in the CMC to enable AD authentication, mapped a few groups one of which i am a member of.
    Then i setup the krb5.ini file like below (removed my server name and domain name)
    [libdefaults]
        default_realm = DOMAIN.CO.UK
        dns_lookup_kdc = true
        dns_lookup_realm = true
        udp_preference_limit = 1
    [realms]
    DOMAIN.CO.UK = {
        kdc = DC.CO.UK
        default_domain = DOMAIN.CO.UK
    i also have that other file bscLogin which looks like this...
    com.businessobjects.security.jgss.initiate {
    com.sun.security.auth.module.Krb5LoginModule required;
    The server inteligence agent has been set to use the same username as i specified in the CMC which is also the service principal name and the administartion name
    i have set the web config file to use SecWINAD as default, i have also set it to give the option of enterprise, win ad etc in a drop down list
    i have gone round in circles for days following the instructions, and nothing is happening
    Also i dont see any usernames within the groups i have mapped , am i supposed to see any? am i supposed to add them manually?? if so, whats the point in that?
    So now everytime i try to log in i get this error message
    Account Information Not Recognized: Active Directory Authentication failed to log you on. Please contact your system administrator to make sure you are a member of a valid mapped group and try again. If you are not a member of the default domain, enter your user name as UserName@DNS_DomainName, and then try again. (FWM 00006)
    There is also another error message i get, which isnt coming up right now but it says somthing along the lines of could not authenticate at this time (FWM 00005)
    i fail to see what im doing wrong. I shoudl also point out that the username i am using for everything is our own network admin password!
    any ideas on things to check before we give up with this all together?

    Hi Roberto,
    With the changes when SAP took over BusinessObjects the support packaging also changed. It's the way it is now but we are moving to and giving as much options as we can. SAP works on the Self Serve practice. the info is available but you have to find it, which is another thing we are working on to improve for BOE/CRS.
    Best place to start is in the CMS link off the start menu, You'll find the Admin Guide and Setup/Configuration Guides. You can also find all of the latest info and updates to those guides from help.sap.com then click on the SAP BusinessObjects tab along the top and then on the left click on All Products and then filter on your version.
    Once the Firewalls and Domains and your CRS Server is added to the Trusted Domains and ports opened to allow CRS to talk to the DNS Server CRS will begin to load all of the users into it's User Mappings. You still have to add each user or Group of Users but they will be available. Documents does describe how to....
    Once you have the Admin Guide search on Security and it explains in details how to set up and which ports need to be opened etc.
    Thank you

  • Running a crystal report from a local machine

    HI guys i'm hoping someone can help me.
    I have created a silverlight / asp WEB application that has a crystal report in visual studio 2010.
    The problem i have is that i've deployed my website to a shared webhost that does not support crystal.
    Until i find a webhost that supports the new version of crystal reports for VS 2010, is there a way i can allow the user to run the report manually from their desktop?
    I noticed that installing the crystal reports runtimes and giving them the .rpt file does not allow them to open the file. Is there any other way?
    Thanks in advance

    Hello,
    Moved your post to the .NET SDK forum where 2010 is the only place it is supported, for now.
    Mmmmmm. There is a deployment package you can use to get CR runtime onto a WEB server but unless you can find a host who will allow you to do so you'll have to convert your app to a Windows application. Not too much work but there are definitely differences.
    To deploy your WEB app to a desktop each user would have to install and configure IIS. Although on Windows 7 with VS 2010 installed there is an interact WEB server, but I haven't looked into it that much or know what the licensing rules are around it. It may just be something VS 2010 installs and supports and you can't deploy.
    Sorry I have not heard of anyone either being the product is so new....
    Thank you
    Don

  • Crystal report installation problem in windows azure.

    Hi Everyone,
    Good day!.
    I have purchased standard version of web site in windows azure server,i'm converting existing normal asp.net application into widows azure project as web role project.In my existing project they have used crystal report tool to generate the reports.
    The issue has been arrived when i published the project into azure server.When i did some R&D people have suggested some tool to install the tool name called "CRRuntime.MSI".We tried and install this msi file both 64 bit and 32 bit,but the
    problem we couldn't even know whether the .MSI file got installed or not.
    Still we are having same issues in server.Please give your good ideas to short this issue in server.
    I'm using VS 2012
    Thanks in advance !

    Hi,
    Please make sure that you are enabling remote connection to the web role while deploying from visual studio 2012. Then get remote connectivity RDP file for the VM and connect to it. Install your tool manually and check if the problem getting resolved. If
    this manual installation works then you can schedule installation as start up task in Azure web role.
    [Although I don't know if your tool can be installed automatically by .cmd or .bat or powershell script file]
    You can add installations as start up task in Azure Web Role service definition file. Here is the link and sample XML tags-
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg456327.aspx
    <ServiceDefinition name="MyService" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/ServiceHosting/2008/10/ServiceDefinition">
    <WebRole name="WebRole1">
    <Startup>
    <Task commandLine="Startup.cmd" executionContext="limited" taskType="simple">
    </Task>
    </Startup>
    </WebRole>
    </ServiceDefinition>
