Crystal Reports 2010 and service pack 1

Hi
We have 4 questions regarding SP1 to CR2010 (visual Studio)
When will the installation problem be solved. Running CRforVS_13_0_1 is aborted with an error : Error 2753. The file "agent.exe.6ED28686_7B19_420C_B255_5B6C1BD2C705" is not marked for installation..." This is the case on all our developing PC's (Win 7 /64, VS2010 SP1)
Assembly version of file from  CRforVS_13_0_1 is 13.0.2000.0. Is that correct?
Must our customers upgrade there installation with a new redist-msi in order to view reports developed with CR2010 SP1?
If so, can they view older reports developed with CR2010 without SP1
Best Regards

Hello,
Reboot and run the installer again, something has that file locked or your permissions need to be reviewed for the shared folder. I had the same problem at home, I ran the installer, got the error, re-booted and then ran the installer again and it worked. If not check your anti-virus software and grant permissions to install and also select Run As Administrator. Empty your Temp folder first also and do not use a folder called c:\temp, rename it to c:\mytemp.
Yes we don't change the assembly version number so you don't have to rebuild each time. Just the actual dll version changes.
Not sure what you mean in question 3? If you update your app to  newer SP then you should have your users update their runtime also. Otherwise what is the point of updating your development PC only????
Yes they can. On very rare occasions new reports may need to be created but that is very very rare. Depending on the bug or enhancement.

  • Crystal Reports XI R2 Service Pack 3 Install Issues

    Post Author: iamtgo3
    CA Forum: Crystal Reports
    Crystal Reports XI R2 check automatically for updates when I open it. It finds an update Crystal Reports XI R2 Service Pack 3. Now when you go to install it I get this error.
    "Crystal Reports XI R2 Service Pack 3 is for Crystal Reports XI R2 only, and cannot be installed on top of other Business Objects XI R2 products."
    A while back a service packe came out for both Crystal Reports Server and Crystal Reports that would update both of them same Service Pack. I am sure this is why I now have the issue. If this is the issue then why the heck post it for updating both. Plus how can I remove other Service Pack so I can install this one? I am sure it is a reinstall of complete CR product. I have purchased CR2008 so I am just trying to buy time till Visual Studios 2008 is complete and release (Not just the 90 day trial)
    So any suggestions on how to install Crystal Reports XI R2 Service Pack 3 with my above issue would be helpful thanks.

    Hi
    You have mentioned that "There are others in my company that after they installed SP3 they were able to successfully connect and I am still getting a login fail error."
    So would like to know the version and type of database that the Universes are based on.off.
    1) Please ensure that you have the exact version and type of the database installed on your machine, that your colleagues are using .
    Say for e.g if the Universes are based off Oracle 9 database, then ensure that you have the Oracle client(version 9) installed on your machine.
    2)Please make sure that you have been added in the user list in the database.
    May be we could come close to narrowing down on the issue by checking these 2 things.

  • Crystal Reports Server XI Service Pack Info

    Hi

    I have checked the version numbers and I think it is out of date?
    Crystal Reports Server XI Version 11.0.0.12825
    Crystal Reports XI Version 11.0.0.128227
    The users are having some issues when scheduling reports to run and I was advised to get latest service packs for Crytsal applied
    Which Service Packs am I looking for?
    Thanks in advance
    Gary.

    Hello Lisha,
    I have not heard a release date for SP1 (.NET SDK) for CR Server 2008. A release date has not been announced.

  • Crystal Report Enterprise 8 Service Pack

    Hi,
    I have installed Crystal Report Enterprise 8 Developer Edition but i am unable to find the Service Pack for the same, it used to be available in the past on the Crystal Decisions site with the name: ce80win_en_sp1.exe however i'm unable to find it on the SAP site.
    Can anyone help.
    Thank you,
    Parag

    Hi Parag,
    The downloads are available in the below mentioned link:
    https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/bobj_download/main.htm
    You need to go to BusinessObjects Tab to get details for BusinessObjects Products in SAP site:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com
    Also as suggested by Ludek please post queries related to Enterprise in a separate link.
    Hope that helps!

  • Crystal Reports 2010 and activex report viewer.

    I have an application built using VS 2010, and the matching crystal reports.  However, the application includes legacy VB 6 components, and they are also used to generate reports.
    Up until now everything has been fine, and the setup kits we build distribute the single crystal runtime required.  Now I have discovered that CR 2010 does not allow us to distribute the activex viewer, crviewer.dll, and it isn't installed with the runtime.
    I have spent a huge amount of time updating the vb6 projects to reference crviewer.dll version 13, since it is supplied with Crystal for VS 2010, only to find out that we are not allowed to use it
    If we're not allowed to distribute it, and the runtime doesn't install it, why do we have it?
    What workaround can anybody suggest?  I don't really want to have to distribute 2 runtimes (2008 and 2010), and I don't want to have to undo all the changes I've made to the vb6 stuff (this really is write-only code).

    Unfortunately, the answer I have for you is most likely one that you do not want;
    Lots and lots of info on the RDC and VB6 and .NET on this web site (use the search box in the top right corner of this web page). There are KBs, Wikis and Blogs that I personally created. In a nut shell, the RDC was retired in version CR XI R2 (11.5). E.g.; two versions ago. While you will find the crxddrt.dll and crviewer.dll included with CRVS2010, these are for internal purposes and you are not licensed to use these (craxddrt.dll was a special license only in any version of CR). Your only option is to rewrite the code using the CR .NET SDK. As for the resources available on this website. See the following small sample;
    Use of the Report Designer Component (RDC) in VS .NET
    Report Designer Component - Past, Present & Future
    Short history and resources for Crystal Reports Software Developer Kits (SDK)

  • Crystal Reports 2008 and Dynamic Images

    Hello,
    I have a windows .net application that uses a listing of items in a grid.  The user selects an item then clicks the print button and that brings up a report viewer form and passes the photograph location in a parameter to the report document being loaded.
    The first time that this report is printed, the image for the selected item is printed correctly.  The next time the report is printed, the default image used to create the graphic object on the report is printed.
    In addition if a user double clicks on the listing of items, a detail form is displayed.  When the same report is printed from this screen, the default image used to create the graphic object on the report is printed.
    This is happening in multiple .net windows applications.
    Can anyone please give me an idea as to what may be causing this.
    I am using Crystal Reports 2008 with Service Pack 2 installed.

    This is the exact same form being opened and that displays correctly from the listing screen.

  • Detail sections not displayed with Crystal Reports 2010 Runtime (SP1 also)

    I have migrated a VB app from RDC 9 to Crystal Reports 2010 and I'm experiencing a very strange issue.
    In a report with 6 nested groups, the detail part is splitted in 7 section, and the whole detail has the "keep together" flag activated. At runtime, some detail sections are not displayed. There is no suppress condition on the detail section. The missed sections are those near bottom of the page. I suppose that when there is no room to print the section on the page and it should go on the next page, Crystal forget to display it.
    I exported the report in Crystal format and reopened with Crystal Reports designer and the missed section are displayed.
    The same report is displayed correctly using RDC 9.
    If I show the group tree and select the missed section group, the section is correctly displayed on a separate preview page.
    I've some screenshot to better demonstrate the problem.
    I hoped SP1 will resolve the issue but unfortunately it didn't.

    This issue has been escalated for a fix. tracking number is TE5000325237. For anyone wanting to attach to this thread with a similar issue, please note the behavior as decribed in the TE below. If the description does not match your issue exactly, please create a new thread.
    Description - Steps to Reproduce;
    1) Run the report in the CR 2008 designer - note the second page
    2) Run the report in VS2010 app using CRVS2010 SP1:
    CrystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = <path to report>
    3) Look at page 2 and compare to page 2 from the CR2008 designer (also, see attached compare.jpg file which is a screen shot of both views) - note missing group on page 2
    4) Export to PDF, DO, RTF - same issue
    5) Print to printer using the viewer print button - same issue
    6) Same issue print to printer using code:
    Dim crReportDocument As New CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument()
    crReportDocument.Load("C:\Crystal\Test\Forum tests\Alberto missing detail section\Crystal Issue\Distinta di Taglio CR 2010.rpt")
    crReportDocument.PrintToPrinter(1, 1, 1, 2)
            MsgBox("Done")
    7) Same issue print to printer using code:
    Dim crReportDocument As New CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument()
    crReportDocument.Load("C:\Crystal\Test\Forum tests\Alberto missing detail section\Crystal Issue\Distinta di Taglio CR 2010.rpt")
    Dim rcd As ISCDReportClientDocument
            rcd = crReportDocument.ReportClientDocument
            rcd.PrintOutputController.PrintReport()
            MsgBox("Done")
    8) Export to RPT file format - view this export in the CR2008 Designer - report looks as it should
    9) Add report to the .NET2010 project. trying to view the repor tin the .NET2010 IDE results in .NET crashing.

  • Crystal Reports XI Release 2 and Service Pack 2 upgradation

    Hi,
    I need your support to upgrade and migrate to Crystal Reports XI Release 2 and Service Pack 2 in my development server.
    I am currently upgrading my Crystal enterprise version 9 with the Crystal Reports XI Release 2 and Service Pack 2. I have the below questions to be clarified. Appreciate if you can reply me ASAP. Thanks.
    My Environment:
    O/S - Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition; Version 5.2 (Build 3790); Service Pack - 1
    RAM size - 1 GB
    Installed software - Crystal enterprise 9
    1) After successfully upgraded with the XI version, all my current user accounts and existing reports are not available in the upgraded version. Pl. suggest me, how to migrate my existing connections and all the existing reports?
    2) In my server, SQL Server is not installed. But SQL Server instance (SQL Server 7.00.623) is running in my taskbar (desktop). If I stopped the SQL Server instance, the "Crystal APS" in the Crystal Configuration Manager is stopped. What information is stored in the SQL Server?
    3) What is the default SQL server version bundled with Crystal Reports XI Release 2 Service Pack 2? What is the SQL server version you recommand?
    4) Will the Crystal Reports XI Release 2 SP2 supports the SQL Server 7.00.623?
    Regards
    Sanrajesh

    Hello, Sanrajesh,
    You have been using Crystal Enterprise 9.0 and now you are installing Crystal Reports XI R2. Is that correct?
    Crystal Reports XI R2 is just the Crystal Reports designer and runtime for development.
    Crystal Reports XI R2 does not have the functionality of Crystal Enterprise. The upgrade would be Crystal Enterprise 9.0 to Business Objects Enterprise XI R2. (11.5)
    A full BusinessObjects Enterprise installation will install the appropriate MS SQL Server for it's own use.
    Will this be the Enterprise server or just the Development system to create an application connecting to your BusinessObjects Enterprise server?
    What development language will you be programming in?
    If you have BusinessObjects Enterprise installed elsewhere you only need the appropriate development components on your system and connect to the server in code.
    Our BusinessEnterprise Support team would assist you in the upgrade from Crystal Enterprise 9 to Business Objects Enterprise XI R2 if that was your plan.
    Then we could discuss the development requirements.

    SSRS 2008 R2 is extremely slow.  The query runs in less than a second in the dataset designer but if you try to view the report it takes over 10 minutes.  I have read this is a bug in SSRS 2008 R2.  We installed the most recent patches and
    service packs.  Nothing we've done so far has fixed it and I see that I'm not the only person with this problem.  However I don't see any answers either.

    Hi Kim Sharp,
    According to your description that when you view the report it is extremely slow in SSRS 2008 R2 but it is very fast when execute the query in dataset designer, right?
    I have tested on my local environment and can‘t reproduce the issue. Obviously, it is the performance issue, rendering performance can be affected by a combination of factors that include hardware, number of concurrent users accessing reports, the amount
    of data in a report, design of the report, and output format. If you have parameters in your report which contains many values in the list, the bad performance as you mentioned is an known issue on 2008 R2 and already have the hotfix:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2276203
    Any issue after applying the update, I recommend you that submit a feedback at https://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/
    If you don’t have, you can do some action to improve the performance when designing the report. Because how you create and update reports affects how fast the report renders.
    Actually, the Report Server ExecutionLog2  view contains reports performance data. You could make use of below query to see where the report processing time is being spent:
    After you determine whether the delay time is in data retrieval, report processing, or report rendering:
    use ReportServer
    SELECT TOP 10 ReportPath,parameters,
    TimeDataRetrieval + TimeProcessing + TimeRendering as [total time],
    TimeDataRetrieval, TimeProcessing, TimeRendering,
    ByteCount, [RowCount],Source, AdditionalInfo
    FROM ExecutionLog2
    ORDER BY Timestart DESC
    Use below methods to help troubleshoot issues according to the above query result :

  • Crystal reports 2010:Failed to load database information

    Hi guys,
    I had a vb.net project with crystal reports 2010 for the reporting.The report works fine inside vs 2010.I tried to build an installer for my project using 'Advanced installer'. In Advanced installer there's an option to import the run time engine for crystal reports for .net framework 4.0 which is 'CR Run time 64bit 13_0_1' but since my system and other target systems are 32 bit,I figured to also import the 32-bit version.
    But first when i followed the path for the package there was nothing so i downloaded both 32 and 64 bit run time engine then located them i that path.
    Just for the information,when i installed crystal reports on my PC,i think it installed 'Crystal Reports for visual studio'
    So i built the installer and installed it on my PC but when it try to view the report it crashes.I also try to install it on another PC and it throws this exception:

    You have two distinct issue here - one on your dev computer and an unrelated on on the deployed computer.
    First your deployment project.
    You have to decide how you want to compile the app; 32 bit, or 64 bit?
    For 32 bit app, use the 32 bit msm file
    For 64 bit app use the 64 bit msm file
    Next, you are using Service Pack 1, current SP is #9, so update both your CRVS install (using the install exe) and the deployment project with the correct msm. Links to the msm files and the install exe are in this doc:
    SAP Crystal Reports, developer version for Microsoft Visual Studio: Updates & Runtime Downloads
    Once you have SP 9 installed, recompile your app making sure it still runs. Then build your deployment project and deploy. See what happens then...

  • Crystal Reports 2010 shows error on 64 bit vista/7 machines

    Hello,
    <br/><br/>
    I search the threads before posting my problem. I saw number of threads similar to this but none of them is pointing towards solutions to my problem. Thus decided to create new one. I tried various things listed in old post to solve my problem but no solution. I am listing below what I have already tried.
    <br/><br/>
    Following is my development environment:<br/>
    - OS windows XP 32 bit<br/>
    - MS Visual Studio 2010<br/>
    - Crystal Reports 2010 <br/>
    - windows application with target framework 3.0<br/>
    - when i build solution for client i change target platform to x86<br/>
    <br/><br/>
    My client machine<br/>
    1)<br/>
    - OS windows vista 64 bit<br/>
    - Crystal Reports for VS2010 Redist 64 bit<br/>
    2)<br/>
    - OS windows 7 64 bit<br/>
    - Crystal Reports for VS2010 Redist 64 bit<br/>
    <br/><br/>
    On my development machine everything works fine. Only client machines having problem opening reports. I am having problem opening reports on client machines. I shows following error. My windows application runs fine but when we try to open reports it shows log4net error.

    In my development machine windows/assembly folder, there exist 2 log4net files<br/>

    Hi deguri,
    1. Are you going to sell the application(which embeds the crystal runtimes) to another company?
    2. Is the application intended for users within your company?
    If the answer to question 1 is a 'Yes', then you need to purchase the license.
    If the answer to question 2 is a 'Yes', then you do not need the license.
    Take a look at a question posted in response to the blog i referred to in my previous post. That is a typical scenario where license needs to be purchased.
    We are product a client/server application in VS 2010 and would like to include Crystal Reports. The rendering/runtime would be on the server component. Our package is distributed to our clients and runs on their hardware. We would be producing the reports and shipping them with the software (i.e. no embedded designer).
    Am I correct in understanding that we would need only a single SAP Developer Advantage license (~$2500 USD) and that would cover redistribution to all our our clients?
    Thanks in advance!

    Yes, you are correct.

  • Keycodedecoder.dll failure still there in Crystal Reports 2010 SP1

    Hi
    I have a problem with getting an error that busineesobjects.licensing.keycodedecoder.dll not found for version 13.0.2000.0.
    I am using Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010 Support Pack 1 (where I thougt this problem was resolved)
    The exception does not show up by default but if I subscribe to the AssemblyResolve event I can see that the common language runtime tries to bind the keycodedecoder assembly and fails.
    You can reproduce it by creating a .Net 4 windows forms project in Visual Studio 2010 and have Crystal Reports 2010 SP 1 installed. Here is the code for reproducing it:
    using System;
    using System.Collections.Generic;
    using System.ComponentModel;
    using System.Data;
    using System.Diagnostics;
    using System.Drawing;
    using System.IO;

    I am only having version 13 (SP1) installed on my computer.
    If I run modules I can not see that crpe32.dll is loaded but there are fourteen other Crystal dll's loaded all with version 13 (from the below path)
    c:\program files\SAP BusinessObjects\Crystal Reports for .NET Framework 4.0\Common\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\win32_x86\
    Yes I konw it's just a warning but it's really enoying and I think it's bad if you said all references to this keycodedecoder.dll has been removed in version 13 but this warning has been there in the beta version and the final version and now also in the SP1 version, and you have told us it has been fixed at least for the SP1 version.
    I have tried my test project on a lot of other computers here at the company and we all get the same error so it's strange if you can't reproduce it. Can I e-mail you a zip-file of my test project or attach it in some way at this forum?
    I am running a 32 bit version of Windows 7 with CRforVS_redist_install_32bit_13_0_1 installed.

  • Crystal Reports 2010 SP1 on IIS 7.0 - Report is not being displayed

    Hi,
    Finally, the keycode assembly, BusinessObjects.Licensing.KeycodeDecoder.dll error is gone, after I installed Crystal Runtime 2010 SP1. Also, I tested Crystal Report 2010 SP1 on my Windows 32 application and I can tell that I do not have this error anymore and report is being displayed properly.
    But Crystal Report is not being displayed on ASP.NET page on MS Server 2008 standard edition SP2 with IIS 7.0. Database resides on iSeries remote machine.
    The MS Server 2008 is virtual machine.
    OS system has:
    Crystal Report Basic Runtime for Visual Studio 2008
    SAP Crystal Reports Runtime engine for .NET Framework 4 (32-bit)
    Simply the report is not being displayed at all. No errors are being recorded in the Event Viewer.
    Nothing happens; excerpt the page is Loadingu2026 and Waiting for u2018website nameu2019 in the left lower corner of Firefox web browser.

    I am developing my reports using Crystal Reports 2008 SP2.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Ludek,
    Thank you for your response.
    I checked the web.config file, all http handlers are there. I think the handlers are required to render the images on crystal report viewer but in my case the report viewer is not being rendered.
    I have to questions:
    1. What exact folders should be under aspnet_client\system_web?
    In my case I have structure like this
    aspnet_client\system_web\2_0_50727\crystalreportviewers13
    aspnet_client\system_web\4_0_30319\crystalreportviewers13
    Should I have folders something like this
    aspnet_client\system_web\2_0_50727\crystalreportviewers13_1
    aspnet_client\system_web\4_0_30319\crystalreportviewers13_1
    after I installed Crystal Reports 2010 SP1
    Also, in C:\Program Files\SAP BusinessObjects\Crystal Reports for .NET 4.0\Common\Crystal Reports 2011\ there is no folder named as crystalreportviewers13 but instead crystalreportviewers
