Crystal Reports 2013 freezes after 22 seconds of running report

I'm running a report that includes 5 linked subreports.  I have parameters for start and end dates for the the data I'm running, and if the report takes longer than 22 seconds to run, the program locks up and I have to manually kill the crw.32 process.  At the bottom of the report I can see where text is constantly overlayed where it says "Subreport: Reading Records" which almost makes me wonder if it's a graphics issue vs. a Crystal issue.  I can see where it began to write "Generating Page 1" over "Subreport: Reading Records".  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  A screenshot of what's happening at the bottom of the program is attached.  I'm running CR Developer 14.1.1.1036.  Thank you very much!

Hi Drew,
Remember that each time a subreport is called, it's querying the database again.  If you have 5 linked subreports in a group header or footer that means all 5 of those subreports are hitting the database for each group.
The screenshot you attached tells me Crystal is busy trying to process the report and is dedicating all of its resources to that.  My guess is if you click on Crystal you the window says it's busy.
This could be a resource issue on your database server or your client machine.  So it could be a matter of giving it more time to complete.  It sounds like the problem can be reproduced.  Remove a subreport and see if the report still hangs.  If it does remove another and repeat the process until it doesn't hang.
If possible, can you filter the data going into the subreports so they process less records?  The less data it has to play with the better the performance.
Good luck,
Brian

  • ITunes freezes after 30 seconds

No matter what I do on my computer, my iTunes automatically freezes after 30 seconds of opening. How can I fix this? Because I can't even buy music or sync my iPod.

    Hi if not now,
In order to see your device in iTunes you may just need to select the option to have the Sidebar shown, something that by default is not displayed. This is where Devices and other items are displayed that you may be trying to locate.
    iTunes 11: Frequently used features

Show Status Bar - Choose View > Show Status Bar (this feature will conveniently display the number of items and playback time for a category, for example, music or movies).
    I hope this helps!

  • Video freezes after 30 seconds...

I have a problem with my iPod Video 60 GB. When I play a video, it freezes after 30 seconds then stays frozen for a few seconds and then continues without sound.
Does somebody know how I can solve this problem?
    Thanks.

Update your iPod with the latest iPod Updater. This is a widely known glitch, and has been fixed with that updater.

  • Mac keep freezing after every second.

Hello everyone  this problem started happening yesterday.  Every time when I type a few seconds it freezes.  I have applications like Abelton live and using other game applications and they are freezing after every second i move the mouse or something.  Cant tell if this a hard drive related or the software any help thanks

Remove "Kaspersky Security," if it's installed, by following the instructions on this page. If you have a different version of the product, the procedure may be different. The product includes a Safari extension that may not be removed by the uninstaller.
Back up all data before making any changes.

  • [SOLVED] GNOME login screen freezes after 3 seconds

    Hello,
today I installed Arch-Linux the first time. I had some issues during the installation (following https://wiki.archlinux.de/title/Anleitu … Einsteiger (its the german version, seems to differ a little from the english version)), but everything went good until I installed GNOME. Now the login screen freezes everytime after quite exactly 3 seconds, unless I press [strg]+[alt]+[f2] fast enough to switch in tty2. Then the screen will only freeze when I switch back to tty1. Once the screen is frozen, I can't switch to tty2 anymore.
I think the problem has something to do with my nvidia hybrid graphic system. During the installation I installed the packages bumblebee, bbswitch and primus, but uninstalled them because I thought they could be the problem. But although I uninstalled the packages, the "Stamina-Mode" status led is turned on after the system has started and the "Speed-Mode" status led not. I think that's a little bit strange, because I can't imagine which process is controlling these leds.
    So I ran just
    pacman -S xorg-drivers
and I had to create the xinitrc-file (because I could not find this file in /etc/skel). Now the default GUI appeared after I ran
    startx
(I saw some windows and a clock). After that I installed gnome, changed the xinitrc-file in my userhome and got the freeze after a reboot.
I don't know if it has anything to do with my problem, but I get the following error-messages everytime I boot:
[drm:ibx_irq_handler] *ERROR* PCH transcoder A FIFO underrun
[drm:intel_dp_start_link_train] *ERROR* too many full retries, give up
[drm:ilk_display_irq_handler] *ERROR* Pipe A FIFO underrun
interl ips 0000:00:1f.6: thermal reporting for required devices not enabled, aborting

P.S.: Because I'm a total beginner at linux I probably missed the most important informations, but I can give you more if you tell me how

Ok, I could solve the problem myself by installing the latest nvidia driver. Now I guess the intel grahic card is not used anymore, but I don't really know...

  • Firefox freezes after 2 seconds, sometimes 3 after opening.

Well i was going to report it privatly via feedback, but i have to be using firefox to do that. If i could use firefox i wouldnt be here would i num nuts. But anyway, firefox freezes after i open it. Maybe 2 or 3 seconds after opeing the program. So if im quick on the tabs i can get awindow open and start a page loading before it freezes but thats it. Its unusable. I have restarted et al, but to no noticable benefit.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

    Thanks, Halfnote!
I spent all day trying to get 7.0.4 to play the audio on a little movie I made of my granddaughter. Tried everything I could think of...uninstalling, reinstalling, trying all the various audio combinations, etc, etc. Finally, went to this forum and searched for help...and happy to say I found it. The 7.0.3 re-install solved my problem nicely. Now I have audio!
I would suggest one caution when uninstalling QuickTime...I have found the uninstall program leaves a lot of QT files behind, which may or may not cause a problem. So, I use CCleaner (www.ccleaner.com) to make sure all traces of the program are gone before re-installing the older version.

  • Photoshop CS5.5 freezes after 10 seconds of use every time

    Hey everyone,
So weve been going nuts over this! Essentially I work for a big company, and we all have company laptops that we use to work on, which all have essentially the same programs installed on them. I have a Dell Latitude E6530, its running Windows 7, has a Corei7 vPro inside. Im running Adobe Production Premium CS5.5, and all the programs work perfectly fine (like I use Flash and Illustrator as well with no issues.) except for Photoshop.
When I boot up Photoshop (either version, 32 or 64), Ill be able to use it for about 10 seconds and then it will freeze. It will stay frozen until I actually go in and Task Manager the program off. It does not crash. This literally works with anything I do in Photoshop, I could literally have nothing open and go to the Preferences menu, and it will freeze there. I have tried looking up this problem online and I havent seen it as specified as this, I have seen it where people do something specific, like go to save, and it freezes AND crashes. Mine just freezes after ANYTHING I do after 10 seconds of use.
More about my set up. I have 3 monitors linked to my laptop. I initially thought maybe cutting it down to 2 or 1 might help, because it seemed to yesterday for a moment, but today I tried it and I had the same issue. I also have Symantic Encryption on my laptop, but so does everyone else and they can all run Photoshop completely fine. Weve updated the drivers and updated Photoshop and everything to the latest versions.
Does anyone know if Im just doing something very simple wrong that Im overlooking? I have seriously never had an issue this bad with Photoshop before. Let me know if you need any other information. Thanks for your help!

Yes, basically we have all the default fonts installed on our computers, but we use a program called Universal Type Client to get the fonts we need, and UTC grabs fonts from a server and temporarily makes them usable on our computer. But everyone has this software so I dont think that would have anything to do with it.
Could it possibly have something to do with my Video Drivers or Graphic Cards? Our tech guy mentioned it was strange that my computer had two different things (I believe he said I have a CORE i7 vPro and Nvidia NVS 5200M or something and that they may be competing?) or the amount of monitors Im using?

  • Flash-Based BBC h264 Videos Freeze After 8 Seconds

    Hello,
I like to view BBC news videos since March on my new Desktop Windows 7 64 bit Pro system.  For about 2 weeks now, I've been having trouble viewing about half of these videos.  Half play all the way through fine and the other half freeze after 8-10 seconds.  I have a CAT 5e 7 mbit cable modem connection so speed is not an issue.  My Wi-Fi connected Windows 7 Home Premium laptop uses the same router and can play the same videos with no problems.
On my Desktop, this freezing happens on both FireFox 12 and Internet Explorer 9.  I did all the usual things to try to fix the problem.  I cleared the caches on both FF12 and IE9.  Yesterday, I uninstalled both the Adobe Flash FF12 plug-in and IE9 Active-X versions and reinstalled with the latest version, 11,3,300,262.  Today, I upgraded to the latest version, 11,3,300,265.  Nothing has solved the problem.
Here are the specs for the BBC Flash-based player:
    Problem Videos:

    18818139 | 800kbps | h264 | AK 4.5 (1) | 640x360
    This video plays OK:
    URL:  http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-18801596
    EMP v.3.1.0.r749603_749269_749444_5
    18801601 | 800kbps | h264 | AK 4.5 (1) | 640x360
The only difference I noticed was the initial screen size of the video.  On the problem videos, the size is bigger than the OK one.  I assume the BBC videos are h264 encoded.  On both my Desktop and my laptop, I have 2 msmpeg2vdec.dll files.  1 in C:\Windows\System32 and another in C:\Windows\SysWOW64.  They are both v6.1.7140.0.  On both my Desktop and laptop, the sizes are different, 2.52 MB & 2.03 MB.
I am using the latest nVidia driver v301.42 which I installed 5/30/2012, over a month ago.  The only recent change which happened to my system on 7/4/2012 was my Norton Internet Security 2012 subscription expired.  NIS2012 then disabled itself and activated the built-in Windows firewall.  3 days ago I uninstalled NIS2012.  I also used the Norton Removal Tool.  I then installed a new NIS2012 with a new legitimate key.  However, I am still getting this freezing and I don't remember if I got this freezing before 7/4/2012.
On both FF12 and IE9, I can play Hulu, YouTube, Yahoo!, and Amazon videos with no problems.  When you right-click on any of these other flash players, nowhere does it say "h264."
    My questions are:
    1)  does the Adobe Flash Player, for both the FF12 plug-in and IE9 ax players, use the Windows7 CODEC?
    2)  Which file is the h264 CODEC, is it msmpeg2vdec.dll or something else?
    3)  Will installing a new CODEC pack fix this problem?
    4)  Is there anything else I have overlooked?  Is there anything else I can do to fix this problem?
    Thanks.

Interestingly, the advertisement plays correctly.  When you right-click on the ad, it does not say h264.  I have 2 video cards and several monitors on my Desktop.  It might have something to do with that.  Otherwise, perhaps one of my other apps did something to the Flash Player h264 playback.
I'm thinking maybe if I upgraded the h264 CODEC, maybe it will play correctly again.  CODEC GUIDE has a codec package which I already downloaded but haven't installed yet.  I downloaded the "Basic."  Unless you really need to, I don't recommend anyone install it.  If you want to install a CODEC package, just install the "Basic" package and not one of the bigger packages.  I think they make changes to your system.  Before installing it, be sure to make a full backup of your Windows system.

  • Flash video freezes after 4 seconds in Firefox every single time

Everytime I play a flash video on firefox it freezes for about 2 seconds after 4 seconds, this may sound like a minor irk but it becomes very annoying. I've tried re-installing multiple times and I'm on the latest version but nothing seems to work. Also tried turning off protected mode and disabling hardware accelaration- still no dice. It's smooth and fine after 4 seconds but it always freezes, I have no idea why- I've also had multiple issues with flash on Chrome which is which I switched browser. It appears it doesn't work on either on of them properly. Windows 8.1 if that helps.
    Thanks in advance

  • Adobe Reader XI 11.0.03 Freezes After 3 Seconds!

I can't seem to open any PDF files, either in Firefox or from the program itself. I've already tried the recommended solution below and it didn't help at all. So how do I fix this?
    Three things to try...
Using Windows Explorer navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader, then double-click on Eula.exe and accept the license agreement
Can you open Adobe Reader by itself?  If so, try disabling Protected Mode [Edit | Preferences | Security (Enhanced)].
It could even be a malware issue; see http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/reader-core-dll-error.html

Reader and Acrobat Pro freeze on my system for nearly 30 seconds after opening a PDF in either one. I chalk it up to the fact that it's a six year old PC with a 32 bit processor and only 2GB of RAM running Windows 7.  After the freeze, I can view or edit PDFs just fine.
Does it eventually unfreeze or does it just "lock up" and stay that way?

Error caused by a video device driver
Thank you for sending an error report to Microsoft.
    Error report summary
Error type Windows stop error (A message appears on a blue screen with error code information)
    Solution available? Yes
What does this error mean? You received this message because a device driver installed on your computer caused the Windows operating system to stop unexpectedly. This type of error is referred to as a "stop error." A stop error requires you to restart your computer.
Cause A video adapter device driver
Computer symptoms A message appears on a blue screen with error code information:
    STOP 0x000000EA THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER
    - or -
    STOP: 0x100000EA THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER_M
    Action for you to take
We have analyzed your error report and there are two solutions for this problem for you to choose between.
+ Solution 1: Install the most current driver for your video card
Go to the Microsoft Update website to see if there are any updated drivers for your video card. A driver is software that enables hardware or devices (such as a printer, mouse, or keyboard) to work with your computer. Every device needs a driver in order for it to work. If there are any drivers listed, you should install them.
If there are no updated drivers at Microsoft Update, and you know the manufacturer of the video card, contact the card manufacturer's product support service for assistance.
If there are no updated drivers at Microsoft Update, you don't know the name of the manufacturer of the video card, and you need more help diagnosing and resolving this problem, contact your computer manufacturer's product support service.
+ Solution 2: Manually decrease Hardware Acceleration for your video adapter
This procedure prevents the display driver from programming the hardware incorrectly, but you may lose some display functionality and performance. Although you can increase the hardware acceleration settings higher than None to regain functionality and performance, these settings increase the chance that the issue will occur again. For maximum stability, leave hardware acceleration turned off.
Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Display.
Click the Settings tab, and then click Advanced.
Click the Troubleshoot tab, move the Hardware Acceleration slider to None, and then clear the Enable Write Combining check box.
Click OK, and then click OK.
Note: This procedure prevents the display driver from programming the hardware incorrectly, but you may lose some display functionality and performance. Although you can increase the hardware acceleration settings higher than None to regain functionality and performance, these settings increase the chance that the issue will occur again. • Video freezes after 30 seconds, then restarts, but audio is lost.

I just got this 5G 60 w/video about a week ago. I used ImTOO to convert DVD movie to MPEG4 format. I used iTunes to copy the movie onto the iPod. I then start the playback of the movie and approx. 30 seconds later, the movies momentarly freezes, then resumes, but without audio. Below are steps that I took to reproduce this issue.
    1) Launch iTunes (set to automatic update)
    2) Launch ImTOO and convert DVD to MPEG4
    3) After conversion, update iTunes
    4) After update, disconnect iPod and insert earpiece
    5) Locate MPEG4 movie and click the center button
    6) Allow movie to play and observe
    Results:
During playback (approx 30sec), movie freezes and audio stops (approx 10sec), movie resumes, but audio remains silent.
Expected results: Should have played the movie without any delays, freezing, and loss of audio.
BTW, I have used other popular conversion kits to convert DVD to iPod savvy formats as well. All have the same results during playback.
If anyone can help, max thanks!

  • Video chat freezes after 30 seconds

My friend and I are trying to set up her video chat. She has a brand new MacBook running Leopard. I have a macbook running Tiger. I can videochat successfully with other buddies running both Tiger and leopard.
We can set up a connection and see and talk to each other but after about 30 seconds our connection freezes.
We have tried changing the port to 443. We have tried deleting her com.apple.ichat.aim.plist. We have tried to change the settings in quicktime to streaming 1.5 mbps.
I think the problem may be with her router or cable modem. Any other ideas?
