Crystal Reports 8.5 / XI R2 : Table Links comparison

Hi Everyone,
Is someone know the corespondance between the 3 options in "CR 8.5 - Visual Linking Expert" and the multiple options in "CRXI R2 - Database Experts - Links" for every link options :
In CR 8.5 : under section "When linking to two files from this file" :
- Look up both at the same time
- Look up all of one, then all of others
- Look up all combinations of the two files
In CRXI R2 :
- Join type : inner join / left outer join / right outer join / full join
- Apply join : do no apply / apply from / apply to / apply in both ways
I need to convert hundreds of reports and don't want to miss the right options.

Crystal reports over SAP r/3 tables

I am trying to write a Crystal report over SAP r/3 tables (BSIK and LFA1) with no success.
I have CRpts installed along with the "client side" SAP integration kit. When i try to create a new connection to my development ERP system i am asked to select an available system, but the dialogue box is empty. I can however connect to a SAP BW query successfully using the SAP toolbar that has been added when installing the integration kit.
Is there anywhere a set if instructions to successfully install and configure CRpts to report over SAP r/3 tables ?

Make sure to define an environment variable called SAPLOGON_INI_FILE in the system your CR designer is installed on. The variable should contain the path to your SAPlogon.ini file including the file name. eg if saplogon.ini is found under c:\Windows then the variable shoud be set to c:\Windows\saplogon.ini . Restart the CR designer and try again.
If the system list remains empty then locate to saplogon.ini file, open it using Notepad and choose the Save as option. All you have to do is to overwrite the existing file (ie. do not change the name) after changing the encoding to UTF-8 (drop-down list at the bottom of the Save as window)

Crystal report not showing all the table in SAP CRM

I am connecting crystal report 2008 using open sql connectivity (SAP table, cluster or Function ) with SAP CRM system. It is showing some of custom tables under "DD" but not all.
Wanted to understand what setting make a new custom table (transparent) to show under DD in SAP table, cluster or function connection

How to create a crystal report based on SAP R3 Tables????????????

Dear All!!!!!!!!!!!
I am new to SAP BO crystal reports.
I want to extract the data from SAP R3 tables and design the crytal report. When i tried to make a new connection;
We have lot of connection as OLAP;OLE DB and etc, I am not sure how to establish a connection between R3 tables and crystal reports. I cannot able to find documents too...
Is there any documents available to make the connection or can anyone help me out to figure this..........

I installed SAP Integration Kit 3.1. Yes I installed the integration kit after installing CR.
I have uninstalled the earlier version and i have reinstalled CR with (12.3.0.601) version.
But still i cant view the SAP connectivity. can u tell me from which version they have included this connectivity option in CR.
If CR going to support SAP Table connectivity on specific version, what is that version.

Crystal Reports: access to SAP BW tables in own namespace

Hi BO experts
we are running XI3.1 SP2 including reporting tools, integration kit and so on. The installation and the integration to SAP BW is working properly for most szenarios.
Starting from Crystal Reports we would like to access a SAP BW table which was generated in an own namespace. By starting the database assistant we are connecting with the driver "SAP-tables,-clusters,or -functions" and see some tables in "DD (data lexicon)". But we can not find the self generated table in there. It is only possible to access the tables in namespace "/1CPMB/", "/B28/" and "/BI0/".
How can we access tables from another namespace? Are there any restrictions for accessing SAP BW tables, e.g. namespace, configuration, settings etc.to stick to?

Hi Markus,
just go to the Database Expert, select the connection to your BW server on the left window, press the right mouse button and choose Options from the context menu. In the field Table name LIKE: you can restrict the names of the displayed tables:
eg. assuming your namespace is /ZMYNSP then just give there /ZMYNSP% ( % is a wildcard)
Close then the Options window and choose Refresh using again the context menu (or just press F5)
CR can only display a limited number of tables when you expand your BW System and by using the Options panel as described above you can let the system display exaclty the tables you need.

Crystal Report Windows Forms Viewer problems - table could not be found

Hi,
I installed Crystal Report Viewer in SAP Business One 2007. All the while, I can run the reports without any problem. but when I loaded some of the new report, it gives me the following error message:
the caption says: "Crystal Reports Windows Forms Viewer"
the message says: "The table 'paymentVoucher' could not be found.
Error in file C:\...paymentVoucher.rpt. The table could not be found."
By the way, I can run the report in another workstation.
Any help or ideas of why this is happening or how to solve this will be greatly appreciated.

The report is not created by me. I just help others to transfer the report from one workstation to another workstation. PaymentVoucher is a view in the database and it is being put at a workstation that can be shared by everyone.
I've go through other forums and found out that it might be permission issues and now managed to solve the problem already.

Crystal Reports XI R2 SP4 Dynamic Image link not shown through forward prox

Hello,
I've installed crystal reports XI R2 on a server which accesses the internet through a forward proxy. I've created a sample report with a dynamic image link. When I preview the report, the image shows up blank. I am able to browse to the image using IE.
Further, using the same report on our lan machine (no proxy), works fine. Any help you can provide is appreciated.

It seems that Crystal Reports does not support accessing images through a proxy configuration.

Crystal Report against SAP R/3 Table-View (SE11) instead of SQ02-Infosets?

Hi all,
does anybody know if crystal can connect to an SAP R/3 Table-View which is created with the SE11 Transaction ?
I want to use this instead of the SQ02 InfoSets because the "join"-functionality in the SQ02-Infosets is only rudimentary and i need more detailed join-functionality.
I use Crystal 12 with SP3 and i also have the SAP-Integration-Kit installed.

Hi,
For creating CR report with R3 tables, please select the "SAP Table,Cluster or Function" in the CREATE NEW CONNECTIONS list.
With this you should be able to select R3 table and create a report.

Crystal Reports and connecting to multiple tables in a dataset - I'm Going Crazy!!

This is my first application, first report and first everything. Wouldn't you know the report I am trying to produce is probably more difficult!! What is happening is that I have a form(screen) up in my application with the information displayed on it from a recrod in a table that I want to put on a report to be view and/or printed and eventually down the road I want to incorporate a signature. One step at a time though, here is what I have accomplished. I have created the report, I have gotten it to display in the viewer but it will not push the data from the table that I want displayed. It only displays the text that I have typed on the form. This is a Visual Basic application created in Visual Studio 2005 using a SQL database. If you need more information then just ask and I will try to fumble through and tell you what I know. (Oh and to top it off............I am also trying to get information to display from other tables also (codes connected to descriptions etc.))
Any help would be really appreciated as I have went through tutorials, read white papers, tech notes and anything else I can find but I just can't get it to work!!

You do need to give more information. To better help, we would need to know the database, when you say SQL do you mean SQL Server, how you created the dataset, whether there are multiple tables in a single dataset or multiple datasets, etc.
The report appears to be running so the underlying issue as you know will likely be the dataset. You may want to confirm the dataset does in fact have data in it. Returning a simple count will let you know there are rows. If you used the components rather than code to create the objects you can also see the data returned in the fill process.
Once you know you have data in the dataset, you can check your reports connection to the dataset.
Just hang in there... the problem is probably a simple fix. I am sure others will follow on with more suggestions.

actually we are calling some actuate reports from actuate server, and the URL looks like this

my question is, can we have some url in which we would specify the output format, as far my research i found URL reporting

but my client needs an excel output, with out going through any web page or viewer controls and generating buttons.

Unable to see English Text in Crystal Report

Hello Experts,
I have crystal report on top of ECC. I have one table which has G/L account and G/L Account description. I am using this fields as parameter, I am getting only German and other language except English language. I checked in ECC and I can see G/L account Description in English but not in my Report.
We are using BOXI3.1 and Crystal Reports 2008.
Can anybody help in this proble?

Let me explain you again, I have crystal report, where I have 4 tables linked. I have one table called SKAT table and I I have SPRAS field in that table which is language key, It will show you all the langauges available in that table.
SAP side, when I enter SPRAS as EN and excute, I see only english records for all G/L description. When I enter German in SPRAS fiels, it will show German G/L Account Description.
But In Crystal Report, I have created parameter for this SPRAS field, User will select which language they want to select.
Now the problem is when I create the Paramter on SPRAS field and I run the report, In the Parameter selection, I see D, C and 1 but I don't see EN.
If user want to see EN , how they can see?

Linking a few Crystal Reports

Let me start by apologizing in advance because I am not as technical as most of you that will likely respond. I am working for a company that has partnered with BOBJ and I am trying to develop a report internally, but we do not have any Crystal Reports experts in-house. Here is the background info:
I am using Crystal Reports XI R2 (SP3) and I am accessing the report data from a Universal Web Services Connection (UWSC). Basically, our company pushes reports to a server (in what appears to be a flat .CSV file) and my Crystal Reports designer accesses this data via the USWC after authenticating login credentials for the server. I have four data tables stored on the server, each with ~8,100 records.
Here is what I am trying to do:
I am trying to consolidate the four data tables into one Crystal Report, but I think I am linking the data tables incorrectly. The report would be structured to show all metrics and calculated values (via formulas) for 900 projects grouped by the 9 established date periods. These are my four data tables, with their associated columns, on the server:

So, as I said, I am trying to link these reports into one comprehensive Crystal Report that may contain formulas that span across each data table. Each table has about 900 projects where each project's values are reported for each of 9 date periods (there are only 9 possible values in the date column), which gives me my ~8,100 records in each table. Think of this as a pivot-table file where each of the 900 projects (and Project IDs) will appear 9 times in each table for each of the 9 established date periods. I tried linking the values Date and Project ID in my Database Expert to the corresponding Date and Project ID columns in report #1 and then grouping the Crystal report by Date from report #1, but I received a database connection error and reading records seemed to take about 3 seconds per record.
If anyone can provide some insight here I would greatly appreciate it. Please be as specific as possible because I have tried a few options and cannot seem to get exactly where I need to be.

It's a report that would list the records pretty basically with some formula use (addition of fields between reports). The report might apear as below with each column header separated by "|" and the formuals written in the column headers:

In this report, the table listed as #1 in my first post would be the "1 driving or main table" and all the other tables (#2,3 & 4) will supply the supplimental data for each record (table #1).
As for my criteria for a record, I would say that technically, in this Crystal report it is determined by the unique Project ID AND the Date (my Key Fields). More specifically, each project, with its unique Project ID, will appear 9 times in each of my 4 tables for the 9 different date periods, so my records are really determined by the unique Project ID AND the unique Date. In all cases, the Project ID and Date are the same field types in the 4 tables. Here is a simplified example using date input in only table #1 & 2:

In this case, you can see the Projects with IDs 5 and 34 appear in both of the two tables. In my final Crystal report I would just want to display the Project Manager from table #2 above as another column alongside all the other metrcis in the "main table" in table #1 above when the Project ID and Date match. The trial and error method is not exaclty working for me vert well because any field that I add to my report causes the database connection error.
I hope I didn't complicate things even more and please let me know if you have any more advise now that I have provided some specifics.

Link a Crystal Report report with an SQL Azure database

I want to use my database on SQL Azure in Crystal Report. So I want to link my reports with data contained not in a local db, but in a SQL Azure one.
Insiede Crystal Report I have created a new ADO connection to my SQL Azure, providing server, db, user, password, and Crystal Report have recognized the database. But when I go to the Database Expert and I try to set this ADO connection inside my report,
I recieve this error:
"Not Implemented
Source ADODB.Connection
L'operazione richiesta non è supportata dall'oggetto o dal provider (operation not supported by the object or by the provider)"
Why? How can i use my SQL Azure data in my Crystal Report reports?

Hi Delfins,
Please create a UDL file to test the connection, ensure the connection is fine and then use the same connection string in your Crystal Report.

How can i connect the maxDB database or ERP to crystal report?
Do i need tables or datasources to create queries, and how do i connect them to crystal report.

The drivers I am talking about will be available in the CR Designer once you install the BO integration kit for SAP solutions.
If you try to access directly the underlying MAX DB database you will not have access to all data since SAP ERP stores the data partially compressed in the database tables.
