Crystal Reports addon client installation
When I try to install de add-on in customer machine an error appear that the exe installation file of crystal reports does not exist, In the server there is not a problem only with the client workstation
Mauricio Rodriguez
Hi, Mauricio
Related to your doubt, the problem appears in different clients.
I know this requiere a specific solution but in order to solve the problem I have removed the Crystal add-on and registered it again from the local direction C:\Program Files\SAP\SAP Business One\AddOns\SAP_CR
The next time that you will conect the client the message will not appear.
This is a temporal solution while we can find a definitive. If you know something I will appeciated a lot.

Crystal report addon : preview error
Hi All,
The question has been answered a number of times on SDN but the workaround does not work in my case. please guide.:
I am working on 2007 B PL 10. I have installed crystal report 2008 for B1 downloaded from SAP portal. I have installed crystal report addon. it gets connected but when I preview the report it gives me the error :
*Could not load file or assembly 'CrystalDecisions.Windows.Forms, Version=12.0.2000.0, Culture=neutral,
PublicKeyToken=692fbea5521e1304' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.*
I have .net framework 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 installed. I have gone through the demo of crytal report installation and publishing and ,have installed in the same order as shown. As instructed there, if I have crystal 2008 installed , I dont need to install the crystal report runtime. but if I dont have it, from where should i download it? is it from the following thread ? :

Hi All,
I have successfully installed Crystal Report Addon Version 2.0.0.7 on B1 (Patch 0) . I have already installed Dot Net framework 3.5 on my machine and I use to design Crystal Reports in VS.Net 2005 Crystal Reporting tool .
The proble is that everything works fine but as I click on the button 'preview and print ' it flashes an error "Could not load file or assembly CrystalDecisions.Windows.Reports Version 12.0.2008......"
Iam not able to understand exactly what is lacking ? Do I require to install Crystal Report 2008 also . I do only have Crystal Report 10 (shipped with VS .NET 2005)
If yes then please help me how to proceed to crack this problem...
Thanks in advance.Hi Pooja,
Yes, you need to install Crystal Reports 2008 Runtime. Alternatively you can install Crystal Reports 2008 or Crystal Reports 2008 for B1.

Error while executing Crystal report in client computers
I got this error message -2147206460 Crystal Reports Activex Designer invalid directory. any idea guys how can i fix this. I tried using Crystal Report viewer in the server and its working perfectly.
thanksMichael Litiatco
is your report working on SAP from server machine or it only works on Crystal Report on server machine
IF your report is working on SAP server then, the problem is on sharing the .rpt file with client
Place the .rpt file in shared folder whichi is accessable from all the clients then use that .rpt file in SAP CR addon and update it
updating the path from each client system SAP towards shared .rpt file
do you have any firewall installed, try disabling within your network and check
This should Fix your problem
make sure the printer is shared and correct printer is set as default printer
if possible give a test print page from client to make sure the printer is online

Crystal Reports 2008 SP2 Installation Error
Howdy Folks...
I have been trying to install the SP2 for Crystal Reports.
I get the following error...
"The installaion source for this product is not available. Verify that the source exists and that you can access it."
Running the downloaded file, unpacks the contents, starts the installer, then the error message is displayed.
System is with Windows Vista SP2
Your help and advice is needed...
Thanks,
JimYes, mapping the network drive on the install PC works, technically. Unfortunately, it doesn't resolve my core problem for two reasons.
1. I'm trying to make the install procedure as touchless as possible for an install base of potentially hundreds of users. Having them all map a network drive would defeat the purpose.
2. I oversimplified the explanation of my situation to make the question easier to ask. We actually have a home-grown, web-based client software distribution tool from which I'm trying to setup the installation. The network drive, and generally all details of the installation are transparent to the installer, so that's another strike against mapping the network drive.
Here's the command line script (nothing fancy) and the code of the supplemental .ini file that I'm using. (This assumes that the self-extracting Crystal SP2 file has already been extracted and that I'm working directly with the setup.exe, setup.ini, and package files.)
And to reiterate, this scripting procedure has worked like a charm for Xcelsius SP3 and Crystal SP1. It just falls flat on its face for Crystal SP2
Batch Script:
setup.exe -r Crystal2008SP2.ini
Crystal2008SP2.ini:

Crystal Reports Server XI Installation
We just purchased Crystal Reports Server XI for Crystal Reports Professional and I want to install it minimally as I think we may have "overbought"; that aside, the big question is where do I go from here to put this on our servers w/o impacting current applications?
TOPOLOGY:
- we have a Windows network with Windows 2003 Small Biz Server and a 2nd server with Windows 2003 Standard running Terminal Services.
- goal is to allow 1 main user to create reports from Quickbooks using Crystal Reports while they are on the Terminal Server
This breaks down into the following questions:
1) do I need to install the server portion at all? or can I just install Crystal Reports Pro via the CLIENT installation on the terminal server?
2) if I do have to, I'd rather use MSDE already installed but how should this be set up?
3) what impact will this make on the SBS web server which we are already using for OWA and Remote Web Workplace?
Any tech docs/manuals that you could link me to would be appreciated as well.
Thanks,

Hi Doug,
With regards to your questions, they will be answered in the following ways:
1) do I need to install the server portion at all? or can I just install Crystal Reports Pro via the CLIENT installation on the terminal server?
This questions is better by your company's requirements. The Crystal Reports Server (CRS) piece is used by end-users who want to browse reports via the web. The CRS is just a central repository, analogous to a central storage box, which makes reports available over the web. Crystal Reports (CR) is simply the client that is used to report off your database. In this case, your 'database' is Quickbooks.
So in short, you will need to install Crystal Reports Pro for your user to make reports. And if the user needs to view report over the web, then you will need CRS as well. The user will create the report and save it to the CRS if he/she wants to view it over the web.
2) if I do have to, I'd rather use MSDE already installed but how should this be set up?
The question may need further clarification.
However, if you are using MSDE to write reports with (for CR), then you can use an ODBC connection to connect it. You can consult this external page as a guide: http://www.truthsolutions.com/sql/odbc/creating_a_new_odbc_dsn.htm. You will set the connection to your MSDE.
If you are asking about how to configure MSDE to be used as the CMS (Central Management Server) database for the CRS, then you will to consult our "BusinessObjects Enterprise Administration" forum. As a note, the CMS is just a backend security database that authenticate user(s) that sign into the CRS.
Your post is posted in the "Crystal Reports" forum.
3) what impact will this make on the SBS web server which we are already using for OWA and Remote Web Workplace?
If you are asking how CR would impact your web server, it should not have any effect. If you are inquiring about how CRS would affect them, you will also need to consult our "BusinessObjects Enterprise Administration" forum. -
Crystal Reports Server 2008 Installation Error
Good day,
My name is Dominic Hung and I work at Business Objects. One of my clients is coming across an installation error on their evaluation of CRS 2008 and is detailed as follows:
They currently have the actual report writer (Crystal Reports 2008) on a desktop PC. It's not installed on the server.
We have the MySQL ODBC loaded on the local desktop as well as the server that is hosting CR2008 Server.
The credentials (userid/password) used in both the desktop and server's ODBC configuration is READ ONLY.
During the installation wizard for CR2008 Server, I key in the userid & password that I use when we create reports, but I receive an error stating that
CMS database error: STU000226
BusinessObjects Enterprise CMS: Unable to connect to the CMS system database "esc:10.127.214.22:3306". Reason: Database access error. Reason access denied for user 'jdcherry'@'% to database 'esc'
This is where everything stops and they can't go further. They are not sure why they are receiving the "access denied" error as shown above. They have no problem connecting to the MySQL database when they create a report using CR2008, the CR2008 SERVER won't accept my credentials during the installation.
QUESTIONS:
The "jdcherry" UserID (which I use) is READ ONLY on the MySQL database that's hosted on the Linux box. Does the userID have to have higher priviledges than just READ ONLY in order to validate the database credentials?
If so, what level of access is required?
Does the installation of CR Server update any of the tables that are stored on the MySQL database?
Do we need to install the Crystal Reports 2008 on the server in order for Crystal Reports 2008 SERVER to work?
What other workarounds can be done for the client? The windows server they have Crystal Reports Server 2008 installed on has web services enabled but are continuing to come across issues. Any insight for the client would be greatly appreciated.Does the userID have to have higher priviledges than just READ ONLY in order to validate the database credentials?
The userID used when installing CRS must have dba previleges (create/drop tables) on the schema.
Does the installation of CR Server update any of the tables that are stored on the MySQL database?
You should create a new schema/DSN for the CMS db. The installation of CRS creates 8 new tables.
Do we need to install the Crystal Reports 2008 on the server in order for Crystal Reports 2008 SERVER to work?
No

Crystal Reports Developer XI installation appears complete, but is not
A client of ours has purchased Crystal Reports Developer XI, and we're having trouble getting the installation completed on their box.
Everything installs as normal (we installed this at other clients), and the box requests a reboot. After reboot, there is no indication that the install ever occurred, except for the new files in the "C:\Program Files\BusinessObjects" directory. There is nothing in Add/Remove programs for it, nor is there anything in the start menu that would indicate it was ever installed.
When attempting to re-install (which we've done 4 times now), the license key is already entered in for us, which to me means that the installation is at least partially talking to the registry, but never really finishing.
We're performing the installation using administrator logins. As I said, there are no errors indicating anything isn't working. The box is a Win Server 2k3 box with SP2.
TIAIf this is XIR1 of windows 2003 SP1 or later you probably want to enable Micorsoft DEP for windows only and reboot.
Also since you have a partial install on the HD you should delete the following registry keys hkey/localmachine/software/business objects and hkey/currentuser/software/businessobjects
Also delete the following directories C:\program files\business objects and C:\program files\common files\3.0
Then reinstall.
