    2) How can i hide a complete column in  webi (richclient/infoview)
    3) In crystal reports Can we create report using more than one database?
    4) In crystal reports  Can we use our own SQL for creating a report instead of dragging and dropping the objects. can you please explain with an example
    5) Is there a way to export the report formulas, like totals to excel? in crystal reports.
    6) How can i use stored procedures in crystal reports.
    7) In oracle i have a table with some duplicate records what is the query to fetch only the records which are not dupleicated.
    8) In crystal reports how can i create prompts static and dynamic prompts (I tried to use parameter fields but i am not getting the data source fields under options)

    Hi,
    1) How can i use dynamic prompt in crystal reports likewise in WebI. Can you explain with step by step process.
Please go through by below link.
    http://www.infosol.com/buildpage.aspx?k=cr_tt02
    2) How can i hide a complete column in webi (richclient/infoview)
Unchecked the  auto height and width box.Set the column width 4px.Change the border color as white or remove border.
And if you are hiding  column in middle of table then adjust border accordingly.
    3) In crystal reports Can we create report using more than one database?
Yes you can use multiple database in the one report.
    Thanks,

  • Doubt in creating a variable in Crystal Report 2008 SP3

    Hi,
I am new to Crystal Reports, I need to create a variable with the below logic.
No of Subscriptions Pending: COUNT(SUBSCRIPTION_ID) WHERE FCT_SUBSCRIPTION_ACTION.SUBSCRIPTION_ACTION_STATUS IN
    (SELECT SUBSCRIPTION_ACTION_STATUS_CODE FROM LKM_SUBSCRIPTION_ACTION_STATUS WHERE
    FINAL_STATUS_FLAG = 'T')
My data source is an universe where I have SUBSCRIPTION_ID, SUBSCRIPTION_ACTION_STATUS, SUBSCRIPTION_ACTION_STATUS_CODE & FINAL_STATUS_FLAG objects.
I have pulled all the required objects from the universe into the Crystal Query.
As we don't have the option to use Where condition in CR (As per my knowledge), I want to know how to write the above logic using "If" or some other function.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Mitch.

    Hi Jamie,
Thanks for your reply & sorry for the late reply, I was away for Christmas.
I tried your formula but it is not working properly.
If I use  "IF FINAL_STATUS_FLAG = 'T' THEN SUBSCRIPTION_ID" then it is giving all the subscriptions count instead of pending ones.
We need count the Subscription_ID's based on the Flag Status & the Action_Status & Action_Status_Code as per the formula.
No of Pending Subscriptions: COUNT(SUBSCRIPTION_ID) WHERE FCT_SUBSCRIPTION_ACTION.SUBSCRIPTION_ACTION_STATUS IN
    (SELECT SUBSCRIPTION_ACTION_STATUS_CODE FROM LKM_SUBSCRIPTION_ACTION_STATUS WHERE
    FINAL_STATUS_FLAG = 'T')
But your method is not taking Status Codes into consideration (correct me, if I am wrong)
While checking against the Database I found the following results
    1) SELECT DISTINCT SUBSCRIPTION_ACTION_STATUS_CODE FROM LOOKUP.LKM_ORDER_ACTION_STATUS
Result: AM, BA, CA, DC, DE, DO, FI, FU, IN, NE, NO, OH, RE, TC
    2) SELECT DISTINCT SUBSCRIPTION_ACTION_STATUS FROM FACT.FCT_ORDER_ACTION
Result: DC, TC, AM, IN, DE, NE, CO, DO, NO, BA, CA
    Values in SUBSCRIPTION_ACTION_STATUS & SUBSCRIPTION_ACTION_STATUS_CODE differ. &
    3) SELECT ORDER_ACTION_STATUS_CODE FROM LOOKUP.LKM_ORDER_ACTION_STATUS WHERE
    FINAL_STATUS_FLAG = 'T'
          Result: CA, DC, DO
    4) SELECT ORDER_ACTION_STATUS_CODE FROM LOOKUP.LKM_ORDER_ACTION_STATUS WHERE
    FINAL_STATUS_FLAG = 'F'
Result: AM, BA, DE, FI, FU, IN, NE, NO, OH, RE, TC
Any other way of doing this.
    Thanks,
    Mitch.

  • Open a crystal report from WAD with passing  the variables values

    Hi,
I need to know is there any way to link SAP WAD to crystal reports (open a crystal report from WAD)and pass the values of the variables which are entered in the Web App. (e.g. Customer id,year) should be passed to the Crystal Report.
Maybe we need to pass parameter by WAD URL but this is just my assumption and have no idea how to do this with passing variable values.
right now I know the method of how Bex queries which are used as data source for crystal reports but in my current scenario we have the structure like this that bex queries link with WAD and then WAD is linked with crystal reports.
No doubt that Crystal report is target option in RRI but there the source is Bex Query only but in current scenario we are looking  WAD (web template) as a source to crystal report or crystal report called in WAD.
    Please suggest something on same.
    Thanks
    Take care

    Hello Vishal.
Did you find a solution for this problem?
I'm facing right now the same problem, I need a way to link SAP WAD to crystal reports (open a crystal report from WAD) and pass the values of the variables which are entered in the Web App. (e.g. Customer id,year) should be passed to the Crystal Report.
Have found an answer to this issue? If yes, please kindly inform how have you solved this.

  • Views on CF Report Builder and Crystal Report

    Dear all,
I would like to get your opinions on CF Report Builder and
    Crystal Report.
As we all know, CF Report Builder is a new reporting tool.
But I find it very difficult to design a complex report maybe due
to limitation in its functionalities. Sometimes the tool shutdowns
by itself without any warning and reason. But the output is nicely
presented on a flash paper / pdf and it can be run on non-MS
    platforms.
On the other hand, Crystal Report is a more matured product
but runs only on MS platform. It is very easy to use and very
powerful. I have been using it for almost 10 years. But the output
is not nicely presented on the web browser unless if we purchase
Crystal Report Enterprise to generate the report which is very
    costly.
Can you all share your views? I need to make decision which
tool(s) to use. Really appreciate it.
    Cheers,
    Keiko

    Hi Keiko,
Yes, CF Report builder is new and initially there was few
issues with this. But I guess now it's good after hotfixes.
Well, I am using CF Report Builder. It's good for me. You can
also design and develop complex reports, that depends upon the
query you are writing. You can also add subreports to your main
    reports.
Mainly CF Report is platform independent and you can also
generate reports in PDF, EXCEL and FlashPaper.
Crystal Report is no doubt is very good, and it's there for
long years. I agree you can create complex reports with this, but
you also can do the same in CF also. You are using this for last 10
years, so I guess you should try something new and that is CF
Report Builder and you can judge then.
I am sure you will have fun with CF.
    Thanks
    Sankalan

  • Close the IE window openeded after a Crystal Reports Report opened in Excel

    Hi all
I wonder if any of you have an answer for this doubt:
I have developed a series of Crystal Reports reports which I open by using the opendocument command and by specifying the parameter &sOutputFormat=E. It works properly: When the user executes the report, an Internet Explorer window appears , followed by a File Download dialog box where the user chooses wether to Open, Save or Cancel.
This dialog box has a checkbox for allowing the user to "Close this dialog box when download completes". If the user had already checked this option ( for a previous download, for example), then the excel file gets saved automatically but the Internet Explorer window opened at first, remains opened which may seem like the report is still being generated, even it was already saved.
I'm wondering if there's a way to close this Internet Explorer window automatically, once the report was saved.
    I greatly appreciate any contribution.
    Gabriel Sanchez V.

Hi Don. You are right, as I mentioned, I'm using the opendocument command which gets called via an URL.
Did you mean this is not the proper forum to post my question? This forum is "SAP Crystal Reports Design" isn't it?. Could you please clarify this point?
    Thanks in advance

  • Sub report group tree in main report Using crystal report 12

    Hi experts,
I have a strange requirement like, same data needs to be grouped two different ways in a same report.  Like
    Store1:
Summary of sales on each item chart
    Store2:
Summary of sales on each item chart
    .....it goes like this
    Department1(multiple stores)
summary of sale on each item chart - store1
summary of sale on each item chart - store2
         --........ it goes
    Department2
summary of sale on each item chart - store3
    --........ it goes
Its in single report, the first part is grouped only with store and in second part the store is under department. How to do this in same report?
I achieved  this by creating a sub report to display the first part of data and in the main report sup report data plus the second part of data will be displayed. And its working well but now the problem is the group tree, I'm not able to see the sub report group tree in the main report.
How to get the sub report group tree in the main report, Or is there any other better way is there so i can get both the data as well the group tree. Please help me to solve this. CryCryCry
I'm using crystal report 2008(installed separately) with Visual Studio2008 (.Net3.5)
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi
    Thanks for the reply.
Yea both data source are same(Datasource is SQL Stored Procedure). I cant use like that, because my client needs the group tree also. In case if there is no group tree, we can create one more group and supress it conditionaly. But here the problem is there is no way to suppress any of the group item in group tree as we can do it in the detail section.
So please me with some different ways and also , please clarrify the following doubts
    1. Can we supress one or more items in the group tree.
    2. Can we get the sub report group tree in main report(Everything is working when i used the sub reports except the group tree). So I'm trying for different ways to do, but none is helping me
    Please help me

I have a small application that uses Crystal Reports 2008 in not-integrated mode.  Meaning that the .rpt files are seperate from the web application and the web application has to know the absolute path to the .rpt files before it can run them.  My question is how do I deploy Crystal Reports 12 to a windows server 2003 x64 server?  I have installed the redist.msi and the reports won't work I keep getting the following error:

My only guess is that there is some configuration I am not doing on the server. Can someone help me?

I think the frustration is coming more from the combination of lack of support for x64 (quite surprising for such an established product) combined with a site that's very difficult to navigate and use (the BusinessObjects site).
We ourselves have also just invested a great deal of time in building some Crystal Reports for a pilot system for a large US Insurance Company and cannot choose to avoid a 64-bit target server.  We deploy at the end of next week and though we can compile deliberately for 32 bit as outlined in your post, this causes all sorts of other issues with other assemblies we are using that are not binary compiled for a specific platform and that we cannot ourselves recompile.
To be concise, your posted solution is not really a solution unless a number of other assumptions are true that we all know in practical terms to be unrealistic for anything but the simplest of apps.
For us, pulling Crystal at this point is embarassing for the customer (they specifically requested that we use it) and for Business Objects, and creates a deadline crunch in our project plan as we convert to Telerik or some other x64 solution.
We will certainly follow up with phone support to see if there are other choices (doubtful), but given that you offer a trial version of Crystal 2008 I think it's remiss that there are no clear guidelines in a publicly-reachable forum that discuss in detail how to deploy completely to x64 including ensuring that other related issues to using a 32-bit compilation on x64 are mentioned/covered.  I certainly can see that even an advanced developer would continue to hold out hope that there is some configuration option combination that will work.
Finally, can you provide any guidance on when Crystal Reports will catch up to Windows 2000, 2003 and 2008 and provide a 64-bit runtime?

  • Crystal Report 9 - Can't Display UTF-8 Data

    Dear Sir,
I am using PHP with Crystal Report 9.2 and has problem displaying UTF-8 data from MSSQL field. It shows weird characters instead. I am very sure the data stored in database is in UTF-8 because when I ouput it into the web browser with encoding as UTF-8, it shows correctly. Currently is using ADODB recordset to pass data into CR. I tried using ODBC to connect directly to database and preview the data - same issue.
Now I wonder whether are there any settings need to be done in CR in order to display unicode correctly? From what I read, CR 9 and above should be able to support unicode.
    Thanks
    AL

To be honest, I have no idea if TTX files supported UTF-8... I kinda doubt it. I'd check, but the only person I knwo of that may have a clue is not in until September 28...
Re. ODBC, see if adding the following option to your DSN entry in the odbc.ini file will help:
stmt = SET CHARACTER SET utf8
Also, if I remember right, MS SQL does not install UTF-8 support by default (at least at one time or another it did not...(?).
Oh - one more thing. I've attached a non CR app that I'd like you to use to see what the data it returns looks like. Please give that a try.

  • Crystal Report 9 connectivity with WebLogic 10.3.5

    Hello,
Is the Crystal Report 9 certified with WebLogic 10.x? Currently WebLogic 8.x is in use. Trying to upgrade the WebLogic.
    Thanks

What does this have to do with Database Connectivity?
An I doubt it, CR 9 is about 8 or 9 years old well before 10.3 was released. Check the Platforms PDF's for more info.

  • Crystal Reports 9 and Clearquest

    Hello,
my company uses (for historic reasons) IBM Rational Clearquest 2003 (2003.06.15.734.) with Crystal Reports Version 9.2 (Service Pack 7) to create Reports on the entries in the Clearquest database. However, when I try to create a new report format, I get the following error message:
    Problems creating new report format.
    Details
COleDispatchException exception reported: You are attempting to use functionality that
falls under the Crystal Decisions Report Creation API license. This system does not have
a valid license, or the evaluation copy of the license has expired. Please contact Crystal
Decisions to obtain a Report Creation API license.
Now, even though this sounds like a licensing issue, I do have a valid, legal license of Crystal Reports Designer 9, and it seems that Clearquest 2003 specifically expects Version 9 (My company laso purchased Crystal Reports Client 2008, but it seems to be incompatible with Clearquest 2003). A search on the Internet has yielded similar problems with Clearquest 7 and Crystal Reports 11, that were subsequently resolved, but, unfortunately, upgrading Clearquest is not an option for my company at this point in time.
If anybody has any tips or pointers, I would greatly appreciate any help!

    Hi,
The problem really is a licensing issue.  Clearquest sounds like it's making api calls to Crystal.  Crystal 9 had special api calls that required special licensing.  These were the Report Creation APIs.  As soon as a Report Creation API is called from an application, the report engine looks for a license file and if the file doesn't exist you get the message you see.  The regular APIs are free and do not require the license.
In newer versions of Crystal the licensing has been revised which is why Crystal 11 works.
In most cases, I'd say upgrade from Crystal 9 to 11 but because it's Clearquest that's calling the reports, I doubt it would be as simple as upgrading the report engine to Crystal 11.
My suggestion would be to go back to Clearquest and see if they have a license you should have received.  If they designed it with those APIs, they should also be distributing the license.  The other option would be to call Business Objects and see about purchasing a license.  From my understanding it's not cheap.
    Good luck,
    Brian

  • Crystal Report CRViewer and runtime installation

    CA Forum: Crystal Reports
    Hello everybody,
We  use Crystal Report 9 Developer English.
We developed a Visual Basic 6 application under a Windows 2003 server computer using the crviewer object integrated into visual basic code.
We need to install the run time version of the application in Windows NT 4 sp6a  computers.
We created an installation kit by the InstallShield of Visual Studio 6.
We can install the kit in the Windows Nt computers, but when we run the application it crashs when we try to produce a report. It looks like the runtime dll of Crystal Report 9 have not been correctly installed by the installation kit or are missing.
What dll we need to install more? How to install them? How to include them into the kit?  Do u have a general  installer of the runtime dll for Crystal Report 9?
It is possible to install all the Crystal Report 9 dll manually and where to copy ?
Please give us an help because our work it is stopped now since a week. We didnu2019t find any solution.
The best solution for us should be to have a dedicated installation kit for crystal report runtime dll.
    Thanks a lot

FWIW, we use InstallShield12 to build an installer for our app built in C++ and with CR9. That method has worked fairly well. I must admit that I have not tested on NT4 in a long time though and I doubt that anyone from BO will help you since there is no help to be had from MS in this case.

As you can see by the string of emails below I have been trying to get a valid key code to install the software for two or three weeks. Why is it so difficult to use something you already paid for. This is not very customer friendly.

I just received crystal reports designer XI two copies.
I also have crystal reports server XI but it is installed and running. I just need to get in to get the support site to get my license keys for the install. I have several emails from SAP and I have tried all of the user name and passwords that were sent to me but none of them work.

  • How to store the value of sum of group in Crystal Report at the runtime!

    Hello all,
I creates a Formula Field that hold the value of Sum of Group in Crystal Report. I would like to know how to store it in a variable and pass it to store procedure. Is it an option in Crystal report to do it. I knew that Crystal Report can cache the report for sharing. My detailed issue as following:
    - Created a Formula Field named TOTAL AMOUNT that calculated the complex expression. This TOTAL AMOUNT is dynamic based on group and variables.
    - I would like to store that value from TOTAL AMOUNT and pass it to the stored procedure parameter IN.
Any helps are much appreciated. Thanks.

    I doubt that this is possible since it would only calculate this value once the report has data.  This sounds more like a report design question that should be asked over [here|SAP Crystal Reports;
