Crystal Reports error on Digital Dashboard not on Dev

Created a report to access some large text fields in a SQL Server 2000 table. Original data connection was ODBC which truncated field at 255. Moved to OLEDB and all was well, text field printed fine in dev and Digital Dashboard. Modified report and suddenly I/O error in rpt file recieved when drilldown to detail page on Digital Dashboard only,  when running in dev or from VS2005 no problems. Error occurs when viewing a large text value (I'm assuming, can not verify actual cause of error). Has anyone else encountered this problem with large text fields and OLEDB/SQL Server/Crystal?
Thanks!

  • Crystal report error (The table '' could not be found)

    Dear Expert,
    As I know, the end user who don't want to edit the crystal report design no need to buy crystal report,right?
    Using the 'Crystal reports for SAP B1', they already view the report.
    But, how about, if I had created one crystal report, and then I want to distribute to end user. When I load the report on user machine that dont have crystal report, the system shown an error (The table '' could not be found).
    I think, maybe because of the database location. When I create the report, of course I made connection to my machine as a source of database location. But, how i'm going to change the database location to user machine?
    Is it when we login into SAP, did SAP auto detect the new location source? And will auto create connection to the crystal report?
    Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hi ,
    We do not create the database connection for the end user. the end user must have the same database connection as it is set up on your machine. The report is looking for the same connection, with the same access into the database.
    Best regards,
    Jadie

  • Crystal report error on Target Machine

    We have to provide application exe to our clients. The application is developed in Visual Studio.Net 2010 and by using SAP crystal report CRforVS_13_0. Client must be able to fire reports on their target machine on which the Dot Net framework and u201CCRforVS_redist_install_64bit_13_0_1u201C run time utility is installed. But it gives a crystal report error on the target machine.
    Our development and target machines have Win 7 Professional, 64-bit OS installed.
    Kindly provide us with an appropriate run time version for target machine in order to fire reports or any other solution in order to make our project work on target machine.
    Thanks!

    Thanks a lot Don for your valuable suggestions.
    We have already taken care of the points which you mentioned in your reply on development side. Also, we have downloaded crystal report from the link which you posted but on DEPLOYMENT side we are unable to run reports from our application.
    It gives the notification when we try to install crystal report on a target machine as "You must have visual studio 2010 installed in order to install the crystal report".
    The DEPLOYMENT problem we are facing is in RUNTIME environment on TARGET machine.  Our TRAGET machine has properly installed Win 7 Professional 64 bit,  .NET Framework Ver 4 and CRforVS_redist_install_64bit_13_0_1 . We also have properly installed application on this machine. We got no errors while installing any of the above. The problem starts when we fire a report on target machine from the application.
    We get the error as "The type initializer for 'CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument' threw an exception"
    So, we are looking for an appropriate RUN TIME version of Crystal Report which can be installed on the target machine to fire reports (where visual studio 2010 is not installed).
    Please help suggest an exact version to download for target machine and the steps if it has a specific procedure.
    Thank you!

  • Crystal Reports Error - BOBJ is undefined

    CA Forum: Crystal Reports
    Hi
    I recently upgraded from crystal reports 10 to 12 and am now coming accross an error when i try and deploy a crystal report viewer onto a webpage.
    Im getting a javascript page error "'bobj' is undefined".
    Searching on the web i can only find one other person who has come accross this error, and not posted the solution.
    Any ideas?

    Crystal Reports Error - BOBJ is indefinido

  • Crystal Report Error while doing Email Billing

    After emailing approx. 497 invoices utilizing MS Dynamics, we are getting the following errors; In addition, we have to respond to numerous printing prompts presented by Crystal Report, v11.
    Error in ASI_SEND_MAIL_WITH_Outlook.
    Error: Object require error number: 424
    Error in ASI_OpenReport.
    Error: Invalid TLV record.
    Error Number: -2147206429
    What is causing the program to abort with the above Crystal Report errors?

    Hello,
    This may be caused by load. Where one report is not complete before the next one is called.
    It would be difficult to determine without having access to the source code.
    The trouble-shooting should be done by MS Dynamics since it is coming from inside their application and they can involve Business Objects if they have questions.

  • Measurement Computing USB-SSR24 error 42 Digital Port not configured correctly for requested operation

    Using LV 2012 and ULx 2.02 LV driver:
    LV is throwing an error 42 (Digital Port not configured correctly for requested operation) from the ULx write VI but only on PortCH.  All my configurations are correct on the hardware and Instacal tests the ports OK.  I've reinstalled everything and still see the same issue.
    Since PortA is configured identical to PortCH, and PortA is functioning fine, I'm stumped.  This is occuring on two different SSR24 DAQs so I don't think it's the hardware, plus I've already mentioned that the Instacal isn't having a problem with it.
    I've attached my VI I'm using for debug.

  • Error:When adding RDC runtime library (Crystal report XI R2) to Lotus notes

    Background : We have reporting feature implemented in one of lotus notes application using crystal reports 6 (OCX) and as Crystal report is going to be upgraded to CR XI version in my organisation, we need to implement the same using RDC component available in crystal XI . we have installed Crytal report XI R2 - SP 6 version for testing the integration.
    we are  referring a document available on SAP web site(attached below) that illustrates the steps required to integrate the Crystal Reports®  Report Designer Component into a Lotus® Dominou2122 application.  http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/boc/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/509b02de-a81e-2b10-f598-822b6d6f2024?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true
    Steps which have been outlined for adding runtime library in lotus domino application is shown below:-
    1. In Domino Designer, add a Form to the application.
    2. In the programmeru2019s pane, go to the (Declarations) handler of the Form and enter:
       Dim App As Variant,    Dim Rep As Variant
    3. Select Create | Object and select the u201CControlu201D radio button in the u201CCreate Objectu201D dialog box that comes up. From the list of controls, select u201CCrystal Report Viewer Control.u201D This adds the control to the Form.
    4. Click on the control and select Edit | Properties. In the u201CAppletu201D properties dialog, select the u201CSize object to fit windowu201D radio button and then close the properties dialog.
    We are getting an error message while trying to add 'Crystal Report Viewer Control' control (illustated in Step 3 above) in the lotus notes form . Error message which we get is 'An error has occured while processing a request on an object'.
    Alternatively , we created the object of Crystal Report Viewer on lotus notes form by adding viewer object file (Crviewer.dll) from the file system  after selecting the u201CObject from a fileu201D radio button in the u201CCreate Objectu201D dialog box and added following code in the postopen event of lotus notes form .
    Set m_Viewer = Source.GetObject("Crystal Report Viewer Control")
    Set App = CreateObject("CrystalRuntime.Application")
    Set Rep = App.OpenReport(u201Cc:lotus
    otes
    ep.rptu201D)
    Set m_Viewer.ReportSource = Rep
    Again, when lotus notes form is opened , it gives error 'Variant does not contain object' at 'Set m_Viewer.ReportSource = Rep' .
    Can any one suggest us any workaround or if iit is not possible in CR XI R2 into a Lotus® Dominou2122 application. Also, can any one provide us sample code if CR 2008 version can be integatred with lotus notes.

    I believe, Lotus was never a "supported" development platform, though it did work - at one time or another. Eventually it did not and you are at that point. I think it was CR 10 where it started to be impossible to add the viewer to Lotus. This was never fixed and we never did find out if this was a Lotus thing or a CR thing.
    Re. CR 2008 and Lotus. The RDC has been retired in CR 2008, so no luck there either for you. The only SDKs available in CR 2008 are for .NET and Java.

  • Crystal Report 2008 results "Password did not match error" in SQL Server Log

    Hi,
    I am trying to develop some crystal reports using Crystal Report 2008 SP4 to connect to SQL server 2008 through RDO (ODBC). My problem is that anytime Crystal Report is trying to establish a connection with SQL Server, first it tries to connect with the wrong password and results the following error message in SQL Server log:
    Login failed for user 'peyman'. Reason: Password did not match that for the login provided. [CLIENT: 192.168.2.198]
    The login name 'peyman' is the right one as I have quoted the same in setting up ODBC System DSN using "SQL Server Native Client 10". But somehow Crystal Report is taking its chance and trying to connect before prompting me for the password. After this error logged to SQL server side, I can see Crystal Report pops up the prompt to enter DSN password. After supplying password to this prompt, Crystal Report works fine and pulls the data and renders the report without having any more incorrect password error logged to SQL Server.
    The attached file shows the step I am taking to regenerate the issue. I need this to be fixed as anytime uses any of these reports and tries to render it with crystal runtime engine the same error message raises in SQL Server side and logged in the log file.
    Thanks,

    Hi Peyman,
    This is the way it should work, In CR designer when you open the report it does nothing. As soon as you hit the Refresh button then CR tries to use the connection saved with the report. It assumes what is saved with the report is a valid server and connection info. CR simply tries to verify the server is still active.
    If you don't want it to fail in CRD then before opening any report Click the File, Log on Database option and connect. Now when refreshing reports it won't log the failed.
    In the SDK it does the same thing, it assumes the Server info is the same and does try to connect to verify the Server does exist. It only takes a few milli-seconds to do this
    To stop this from happening set the log on info first then it won't log the attempt to connect, it's checking to see if Trusted is allowed.

    Notice it doesn't try to connect first if I set the log on info first using code.
    So nothing we can do to stop SQL server from logging this info. Check with the DBA, possibly they can "filter" out the application attempts to connect or change your work flow in the app.
    If you have a Preview Button to view the report then simply add your Database log on info prompt there if Connectioninfo.Trusted is not true:
    mainSecureDB = rpt.Database.Tables[tableIndex].LogOnInfo.ConnectionInfo.IntegratedSecurity;
    if mainSecureDB = false then prompt the user for log on info and set accordingly, if it is true the it should not fail when it connects.
    This is simply a matter of changing your App work flow...
    Thanks

  • Not a 4.x or earlier version of Crystal reports error

    To all:
    I'm using Crystal 8.5 (CR) to report on data stored in a SQL 2005 database through a Prolog Manager 2007R2 (PM) interface.  CR is not connected to SQL in a native fashion.  It gets to the data via .ttx files through PM that define the data types and locations.
    I have a report that is getting the "Not a 4.x or earlier version of Crytal reports" for me and "Out of memory" error for others on the network.  I made an exact copy of the database and restored it on my local machine so I could troubleshoot the errors.  I thought the errors could have been server / network related but since restoring it on my local machine, which also has the PM software installed on it, I am able to recreate the "not a 4.x" error.  The error only seems to trigger when I report on larger number of records.  It's fine on lesser record counts.
    I do have 2 linked subreports (SR) in it and I am using "underlay following setions" to get the data from one SR in D1 section to show up in D2 which is showing data from the main data group.  Does anyone out there have any experience in this error?  I can't purchase a singe support case because CR 8.5 isn't supported any longer.
    Gary
    Edited by: Gary Michalske on Apr 1, 2010 12:01 AM

    Hi Gary,
    I don't believe that error is generated by CR, CR is just passing it through from Prolog. You may want to post this issue to the Prolog forums. Or have a really close look at the ttx format and compare it to our sample ttx file. I don't recall where it is now though.
    Thank you

  • Logon Error for Crystal Report Viewed by User When Not Included In App

    I have a Visual Basic 2008 SP1 application and I'm using Crystal Reports 2008 SP0 (with FP1 + 2).  I have about 50 reports using integrated security that are all "embeded resources" in the application.  When I want to print one of these reports I use code like this:
    PrintReports(New MyEmbededReport)
    And in my PrintReports routine it just creates a new instance of a form that has the report viewer control on it and passes the report over to it.  This works GREAT and I can embed all my reports right into the app and call them when I need them.
    Recently however I've had the need to add some custom reports that may change more often then the app changes so I need a way for users to access their reports without a new version of the app being pushed out.  So I made a routine that lets me store the actual Report.rpt file into SQL and when a user goes to run it the report is pulled out of the database and saved into their temporary files and then passes it back to my PrintReports routine as a ReportDocument.  This also works fine but only on my machine.  On the client machines it asks for the login information and no combination will work.  I've tried multiple ways of getting around it and have spent hours trying examples found on the internet including assigning the login information before preview, running through and assigning the login information to each table, I've gone through the "Using Integrated and SQL Autentication in .Net Applications" guide, turning on and off integrated security.  Nothing seems to work.
    What else is there to try?  As a very last resort I will have to store the reports into the app like the other ones but I'm really trying not to do this.
    -Allan

    Just trying to get this working.  My PrintReport routine used to just have the single line to assign the passed report to the report viewer.report source property.  I've changed it to this:
                Dim crtableLogoninfos As New TableLogOnInfos()
                Dim crtableLogoninfo As New TableLogOnInfo()
                Dim crConnectionInfo As New ConnectionInfo()
                Dim CrDatabase As Database
                Dim CrTables As Tables
                Dim CrTable As Table
                'Set the ConnectionInfo properties for logging on tothe Database
                With crConnectionInfo
                    .ServerName = My.Settings.SQLServerName
                    .DatabaseName = My.Settings.MainDatabaseName
                    .IntegratedSecurity = True
                End With
                'This code works for both user tables and stored procedures.
                'Set the CrTables to the Tables collection of the report
                CrDatabase = myReportFileName.Database
                CrTables = CrDatabase.Tables
                'Loop through each table in the report and apply the LogonInfo information
                For Each CrTable In CrTables
                    crtableLogoninfo = CrTable.LogOnInfo
                    crtableLogoninfo.ConnectionInfo = crConnectionInfo
                    CrTable.ApplyLogOnInfo(crtableLogoninfo)
                Next
                'Set the viewer to the report object to be previewed.
                PrintPreview.CrystalReportViewer.ReportSource = myReportFileName
    And I have the exact same issue....my internal reports stored within the app still work fine for everyone but the custom reports made in CR2008 and added as files still do not.
    So out of fustration I added one of the "external" reports into VB 2008 and opened it in there, did a verify database, saved it, and then added it to my SQL server but again same issue....it's like when its off of my computer it "loses" the connection information even though it still shows its there.  Not sure why the reports that are embedded into the app don't have this issue.
    So that gave me another idea.  I took one of the reports that was originally created in VB2008 and took that and put it into the SQL then ran that like the others and IT WORKS.  It creates the temp file on the client PC and runs it from there with no login issues.  Now I'm more confused....any ideas?  I guess I'm going to start recreating the reports I created in CR 2008 and remake them in VS 2008 since those seem to work fine but why should I have to....what would be the difference?

  • Crystal report error in SAP

    I have linked my first Crystal report into SAP (2007A), but when I try to run it I get an error.
    Msg header "SAP Crystal AddOn"....Could not load file or assembly 'CrystalDecisions.Windows.Forms, Version = 12.0.2000.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=692fbea5521e1304' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
    I searched the SAP forums, but found nothing regarding this error. Anybody have an idea how to fix? I can't see my Crystal report.  Does the report need to be stored in a specific location for it to be called from SAP?  I was able to browse to it when I setup the link in SAP.

    Hi Shredder ,
    Actually you should have posted in reporting and printing forum ..anyway close your previous thread too..
    and please take a look at this
    *I copy from the other thread *
    Client you need to install .net framework 3.5 and Crystal Run time to run reports.
    in the client make sure the shared directory is accessible from run without any password
    and in the add on go to report properties and set the path to the shared folder .rpt files and apply changes
    use OLE DB connection

    It's exactly what it says, the path to the report is not correct, user does not have permission to it or it simply doesn't exist.
