  • Not able to see the crystal reports XI version in the IE 7 and IE 8

    Hi Team,
I am using web based application developed in VB,ASP,SQL SERVER,Crystal Reports(XI). I am able to see the Crystal Reports in IE 6. But i am not able to see the reports in IE 7 and IE 8. While clicking on the reports button it is showing the  red X image top left cornor.
I am using CrystalActiveX viewer11 version for viewing the reports.
In IE 6,if the client using fiirst time for vieiwing the reports,it will ask the Activexviewer control prompt and says ok,it will display the reports.
    Thanks and Regards
    Eshwar

Thanks your advise. But we are using following crystal reports (XI) version and we don't have CRXI with R1 and R2.
    CurrentVersion:11.0.0.895 ( CR Developer and Product Type:Full)
Crystal Reportviewer11 configured in the IIS which is version (5.0). and configured the virtual folder to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Business Objects\3.0\crystalreportviewers11\.
Our web application code also configured in the IIS at same level.
When the user wants to see the reports through the application,it will ask the Plugin of Crystal Report Viewer and user will download this plugin and it will save in the IE plug ins.It will ask only first time viewing the reports for the next onwards it will not ask or prompt of the Activex control.
So please suggest me, is there any upgrade version of this Crystal Reportviewer11 needs to be installed or any browser setting need to be configured for IE 7 and IE 8.
    waiting for your reply.

  • Re: Crystal Reports 5.0 (32-Bit) and Forte 2.0H16 on NT3.51

    Dear Silke,
Crystal's default for identifying a table in the report design is
<schema>.<table>. You can change that by going to the Database Location menu
item and cutting the schema prefix off. You should do that for every table in
the report. The PESetNthTableLogOnInfo function will, I believe, not change
the schema prefix of a table, since it assumes you really want that schema,
i.e., as an override. Also, if you are using the propagateAcrossAllTables
feature of the function make sure that every table has the schema prefix cut
off, otherwise those tables will be skipped, since the propagate feature applies
to all other similar tables only. For example, some of the tables could be
    Sybase, etc.
I believe you can change the default behaviour of the CR Report Designer in the
File->Preferences menu, so that when reports are designed the schema prefix is
    not automatically attached.
I have compiled some guidelines on designing reports to make them work properly
with Forte. I will try to send them to you next week. Crystal Reports and its
C API are a good product, and you will get good performance once the report
    design is set up properly.
    Yours very sincerely, John Hodgson.

    Hi There,
Crystal reports stores Database name as a hard-coded
    value in the
report template. So if you have to use an other
    database, you will
have to open the report template and modify the
    database name. I
think this is why you are getting Crystal API error.
    Hope this helps!

    Hello,
I wonder if we have a similar problem.
We are using Crystal Reports 5 and Forte 3.0.F.2. For
    the interface
between Forte and Crystal we have in Forte a Lib using
    C-wrappering to
    the C-API of Crystal.
We have developed a report on a database in our
development-environment. This report comes up with data
    and works
correct. It's no different if we have saved the report
    in Crystal with
    data or without.
If we want to use the same report on another database
    in our
test-environment the window from crystal reports comes
    up and when
starting there is an error from the Crystal API
    function.
Both environments use the same version of an Oracle
    Database and are on
Open VMS. The client for the test is in this case
    always the same.
From the C-API we use the method PEStartPrintJob after
    we have specified
    the rest for the report.
Is there a possibility that this is the same error you
    mentioned? Or do
    you have any other ideas?
    Any help is appreciated.

    Tim,
You need to upgrade to CrystalReports 6.0. There isa bug in the
interaction between Forte and CrystalReports 5.0 (Idon't know on
which side the bug resides, but I think that it is onthe Crystal end,
since the problem occurs both through C-wrapperingand OLE
interaction), which does not allow you to invoke thePrintReport
method unless you have saved data with the report.
As far as I know, there is no workaround, and theonly solution is to
    upgrade to CrystalReports 6.0.
FYI, there is no ActiveX control supplied withCrystalReports 5.0 -
you are actually using standard OLE integration.
    Hope this helps...

    Hi Forte-User !
We got a big problem here using the crystal active-xcontrol. On my
    windows-nt 4.0 machine (with
crystal reports installed completely) all works well.On our test
machine (with only the crystal ActiveX
installed), the Forte runtime shuts down afterinvoking a special

The cause for shutting down (no stacktrace orsomething like that) is
    a generated c++ exception in crystal -
but we don't know the cause of this exception.
Has anyone made the control work under nt 3.51 ? Doesanybody know

  • Total No of pages different in report printed using Crystal Report XI R2 vs SAP Crystal Reports, developer version for Microsoft Visual Studio (File Version 13.8)

Currently in our application, we are using Crystal Report XI R2 for generating the reports. We are in the process of upgrading the Crystal Report to SAP Crystal Reports, developer version for Microsoft Visual Studio (File Version 13.8). I updated that on my machine and all the reports work fine. I didn't have to modify any of the reports.
However when comparing the reports, we found that there are few reports on which the total no. of pages differ from the report displayed using Crystal Report XI R2 vs SAP Crystal Reports, developer version for Microsoft Visual Studio (File Version 13.8). Comparing the reports, it looks all the data that were fit on one page earlier with version XI R2 doesn't fit on the same page with version 13.8, thereby increasing the page counts.
The fonts, page margins everything set on report itself. Nothing being set in the code.
Both the application is using the same report that is pulling the data from the same database. Our application is a web application.
Any suggestion, why this is happening.
    Thanks.
    Sanjay

I am not sure what is being compared here?
    CRXI R2 designer to CRVS?
CR XI R2 in some version of .NET to CRVS?
CR XI R2 using RDC SDK to CRVS?
Also, is this happening on your development computer or after you deploy?
If you compare the the "Page setup" options dialog between reports that work and those that do not work, do you see any difference?
Is this a web or a win app?
Are you seeing the same issue when viewing and exporting - say export to PDF?
What is the printer driver used and it's version?

Well I found a temporary fix for this issue. I put the http://www.businessobjects.com/ as a trusted site in IE!!
First, get the URL of the site to trust. For example, " http://www.businessobjects.com/
.Next, Click on the "Tools" menu and select "Internet Options". Click on the "Security" tab.
Click on the green circle with a white check marked "Trusted Sites". In the space provided, enter the URL of the site (you'll probably want to uncheck the box requiring SSL, which is a high-security link, for all sites). Click the "Add" button. Continue entering sites until you have them all entered, then click OK as needed. If you find another trusted site later, simply go back to this menu item and enter the data.

  • Installing windows application with crystal reports runtime on 64 bit

I have a windows application created on 32 bit windows xp platform using visual studio 2005 with oracle 10g as database and crystal reports XI as reporting tool. The platform on which the application was created has Oracle 10g 32 bit Client, Crystal Reports Developer XI R2 and Crystal Reports XI Server Client. The application has to be installed on 64 bit Windows 7 machine. The application fails with following error
An error has occured while attempting to load the Crystal Reports runtime. Either the Crystal Reports registry key permissions are insufficient or Crystal Reports runtime is not installed correctly.

We have installed "Crystal reports XI R2 SP4 full build" and "SP6 incremental". We have also installed "CrystalReports11_5_NET.MSI from CR XI R2 FP 6.4 .NET Server Install" as well as "CRRedist2005_X64.msi".
We are still getting the same error.

  • Crystal Report For True 64 bit Mode

    Hi,
We Have a ASP.Net Web Application with .Net Framework 4.0, Build in VS2010.
We are using Crystal Report for VS2010, Version :  CRforVS_13_0_5 .
In our web Application, we have a Separate Project for Crystal Report.
Currently, I install Crystal Report in 32 bit machine and deploy the 64 bit machine using "CRRuntime_64bit_13_0_5.msi".
where the Crystal Report Project/dll/Process is running in 64 bit machine in 32 bit Mode.
    But,
I want to compile Crystal Report Project project in native 64 bit mode and deploy it on a 64 bit machine,
So that it will run in true 64 bit mode as 64 bit Process in 64 Bit platform.
I don't want to run it as 32 bit process in 64 bit platform .
How it is possible, Please Suggest.
    Thanks & Regards,

    As simple as it gets..
Compile the application by setting the target platform of the app to X64 on dev machine.
Deploy the app on a 64 bit machine. Configure the IIS app pool to run the app in 64 bit mode.
Download and install CR for VS 2010 64 bit MSI on the server.. (for erspective SP).

  • "SAP Crystal Reports, developer version for Microsoft Visual Studio" (CRforVS_13_0_9.exe) has error during Installation.

    Hello,
I just tried to install the new file CRforVS_13_0_9.exe on a Windows 7 Ultimate machine.
I have Visual Studio 2013 and wanted Crystal Reports to be fully integrated with it.
By the way, I had already uninstalled CRforVS_13_0_8.exe before I attempted the installation of CRforVS_13_0_9.exe.
However, the installation failed with the following error message...
"The installation failed prematurely." The error dialog box with a full error message is attached.
It may be significant to note that even after what looks like a failed installation, that "SAP Crystal Reports, version for Microsoft Visual Studio" (ver. 13.0.9.1312) does show up in the Programs and Features Control Panel).
Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Please advise.
    Tom Davey

This used to be quite common on WIN XP and Vista and it was an MS issue. Googling I found the following that may help:
Fast and easy Windows Error Code 2753 resolution
    Error 2753 Preventing Uninstall&amp;#47;Reinstall - Microsoft Community
    Windows Installer Error Messages (Windows)
For now, this is the only report of the error with SP 9, so it will be good to check if the above helps.

  • Deploying 'Crystal Reports' on a 64 bit machine

    Hi,
I am trying to deploy my application on a 64 bit machine.
I am using Crystal Reports XI release 2.
When I tried to deploy it ona 32 bit machine i simply added the
CrystalReports11_5_NET_2005.msm file to my detup project and it worked.
However, when I tried to do the same thing on the 64 bit (with a 64 bit setup project)
I recieved a runtime error message:
"An error has occurred while attempting to load the Crystal Reports runtime.
Either the Crystal Reports registry key permissions are insufficient or the Crystal Reports runtime
    is not installed correctly."
    after that it was said:
"Please install the appropriate Crystal Reports redistributable (CRRedist*.msi)
containing the correct version of the Crystal Reports runtime (x86, x64 or Itanium) required..."
I installed 'CRRedist2005_X64.msi' on the 64 bit machine and tried to run my setup with and without
the CrystalReports11_5_NET_2005.msm file, and it didn't work.
    What should I do next?
    Thanks,
    Arik

    Hi Arik,
You need to use the CrystalReports11_5_NET_2005.msm file for the application deployment. The 'CRRedist2005_X64.msi' is meant for the bundled version of Crystal for Visual Studio 2005.
You could refer to this [Business Objects Note.|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/oss_notes_boj/sdn_oss_boj_dev/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/scn_bosap/notes.do]
In addition, you would need to enable the 32 bit mode of the ASP.NET 2.0 on the deployment server. This is because it is necessary to run the application under 32 bit mode. Please refer this MS Kbase article for more info - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/894435
    Regards,
    Ranjeet.

  • Upgrade of Crystal Reports from version 7 to 2011.

I have a LIMS system that uses Crystal 7 to generate Certificates of Analysis (COAs) for products that my company produces.  The LIMS  app resides on a terminal server and user connect to the terminal server via citrix.  The app has been around since 2000 and is running on Windows Server 2000.  The crystal 7 is apparently a runtime version.
I have been tasks with upgrading the terminal server to Windows 2008 64 bit server.  I have installed the app on the server and the app performs as it should except for printing the COAs.  I downloaded a trial version of Crystal Reports 2011.  I can open and print COAs from with the Crystal 2011 application.
The App Devloper states that the existing system uses a call to crpe32.dll to print the reports.  When I try generate a COA I get the following errors.
    Crystal Reports error:525
Function: PEOpenPrintJob has reported an error.
There is something wrong with the report you are trying to open.
    Crystal Reports error:512
Function: GeneralPrint has reported an error.
The print engine must be open for the call to be sucessful.  Your code is lacking a PEOpenEngine call.
The crpe32.dll file is in the application root directory, in the c:windows\system32 directory, and the c:\prgram files(x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0/win32_x86 directory.
This may be more information that needed.  Anyway, any Idea how to get my app to print from Crystal Reports 2011.

    Hi Deano,
Using Crystal 7 runtimes on Windows Server 2008 is really not a good idea.

Blog by Ludek on CR2011 can be useful here.
    Do look at it.
So, what's up with CR 2011 and .NET SDK - actually, any SDK?
    Thanks,
    Saurabh
