Crystal Reports print preview problem

The problem is that print preview of a report using crystal Report dotnet Print Preview is making u201Cblank signsu201D inside words. The blank signs occurs near Swedish special signs like u201Cåu201D, u201Cäu201D and u201Cöu201D. Also near u201C.u201D (dot). Maybe there are more signs making this problem.
The problem occurs for those who have .NetRuntime, or a full installation of Crystal Reports
The problem started when we installed Crystal Reports 12. In earlier versions we had no problem with this.
It feels like Crystal Report have some bug in the u201Ctext rendering engineu201D. This is obviously a problem when a customer previews a text before printing it. This preview should look like the printout. Even if the room between two letters not is a space, there still is a room that is interpreted as a space by a human.
However, if we zoom to larger % (200%) the preivew is matching the report.

You need to resolve this in the designer, before trying to resolve it in a .NET application.

Crystal Report Print Preview presenting users with Database Login

Issue
A user amended a crystal report form, on doing so has now made that Form unavailable to the majority of users to Print or Preview this is in 8.8 PL10. All other users on Previewing are presented with a window Database Login, but this only presents the server name, Database name is blank and greyed out and then there is only Login ID and Password available. If you enter in the database password a message appears stating failed login.
We have access to the SAP server and logged in and get the same message! but on the users machine who amended the Form they can print? any suggestions greatly appreciated

The problem sounds similar to what I've had recently, it was resolved by changing the database connection type to SAP Business One in Crystal Reports 2008, I can confirm that using OLE DB or other will still cause the login issue on other machines off the SQL server, the SAP Business one connection solves the issue.
I was fighting with this for hours, hope this helps you all.

How to remove suppressed items in the group tree from the crystal report print preview screen

I am removing items in report using group selection formula. Although the removed items are not available in the report, they are still available in the group navigation tree on the left pane. Is there a way to overcome this ?

Print crystal report without preview

Dear All,
i want print crystal report without preview.
when i click print button i want show printer list install in that computer.
so user can choose which printer that use to print. I means like if we printing document from office, we can choose the printer.
how that i can do that?

SAP NetWeaver Portal Crystal Reports PDF Export Problem

Hallo all,
We are working with BO Edge XI 3.1 with integration on SAP Netweaver Portal. The problem is that integrated in SAP Portal CR reports cannot be exported to PDF or printed out.
I am using an URL iview with the parameter sOutputFormat=P to run the report.
When I want to print out the report I get the warning message from Internet Explorer "The download of files from this page is for security reasons blocked. Click here..." --> Download the file. By clicking on the u201CDownload this fileu201D the report starts to run again. PDF export doesnu2019t happen.
Did somebody have the same problem?

Is there a documentation about necessary settings in the browser to work with SAP NetWeaver Portal and Crystal reports?
The problem is that on some clients the PDF export is working and on another clients not. The settings of IE seem to be equal.

Crystal Report Print Control install error

Hi,
I'm trying to manually install the crystal report print control active x file. After righ-clicking to install the printcontrol.inf file, i got the following error message; "The INF you selected does not support this method of installation" Any idea why I could not install?
I am running Windows Vista and have local admin rights.

See if that helps. Note that since you do not mention version of CR, the KB may not be specific to your version of CR, but it should point you in the right direction, no matter what the version.

Crystal Reports PDF Export problem

Hi I'm using Crystal 8.5 for my reports in VB 6.0. We have intrepret as RTF in the report. Now when we export this report to PDF the nested bullets loose formatting. All bullets show up at the same level. Any idea how to fix this?

Crystal Reports: Print Engine Error when exporting a report

We recently upgraded from Crystal Reports 2008 to BusinessObjects Edge Series X3.1. When exporting a report to an excel data-only format we get "Crystal Reports: Print Engine Error". All other formats work fine. Any help is highly appreciated.

When we try to migrate the crystal reports from BO R2 to BO R3, some of the reports are faling with the error:
Failed to create a new Report.Reason: Failed to read data from report file C:\DOCUME~1\xxxxx.rpt. Reason: Crystal Reports: Print Engine Error
Would please someone help me in fixing the issue.

Few quick checks to identify the cause -
1. Are you able to run report in your R2 system?
2. In XI3.1, check SIA running on which account.
3. Check the acount have sufficient rights on file system and registry.
4. What's your web server?
Give proper rights and import again. Hopefully it will resolve.

Crystal Report print layout error during print preview

Hi Everyone,
When I try print preview a marketing document, it will work the first time, and then when I try to print preview again it brings up a window asking me to login into the database with the sa username and password.
When putting in the correct password, the login fails.
When I click cancel, SAP hangs up and requires a restart.
All print layouts were done in Crystal Reports, and imported via the report layout manager.
This occurs on all marketing documents where there is a crystal print layout.
Anyone will be able to help me with this?

I also did not include a stored procedure into the connection that was needed in the layout.
This could have also added to the problem (for future reference).

Font problem in Crystal report printing

i am using CR 10.0 and .net 2.0 framework. In my report i am using unicode fonts(mangal,arial). Records in Crystal reports are of both font type but when i printing this report it shows only arial font records and turn remaining records in to boxes.
How i can sort out this problem ?

Have you tried updating the printer drivers? or checking your Control Panel to see if the printer is setup correctly?
