Crystal reports report allways asks for db creditentials, please vertify!

Hi all, just upgraded couple of test servers up to pl 19 and pl 19 hf1
my problem is, if i create a report (the ones allready in the b1 database still work as should), so this new report asks for creditentials every time on running.
Reproduce:
Upgrade pl 19, create a new report, save it inside SAP, run it from sap, and i get a box prompting for db creditentials.
Help me vertify this issue!
Please test your pl 19 systems with compleatly new riports (even the simplest report will do)
Thank you all!
Regards,
D

For Further reference only:
PL19 indeed has this bug, PL20 is promised to fix it (i didn't have time to check this... but there are 2 notes about this so it is probably fixed)

  • Crystal Report Layout asking for Login Info

I have modified the Delivery Note Crystal Report Layout for Business One by clicking the Edit button on the Report and Layout Manager for Delivery Note (Items).  I then saved my modifications to a file.  Finally, I go into Business One and import the Layout for Delivery Note (Items).  When I preview the Layout it asks me for login information then continues to fail.  How dow I make it so I can print the Delivery without having to constantly log in?

    Hi Jeff,
I recently had a similar problem on an 8.82 implementation, having contacted and spoken to SAP Support multiple times these suggested fixes worked:
The request to login to the database when you open or print preview a Crystal
report is a known issue. To resolve this, I recommend you go through our Root
Cause Analysis (RCA) guide. Please see attac hed Note 1676353 on where to find
this. There are four Cases in this guide (which contain a number of Influences)
    - please go through all Cases and Influences.
    We also tried the following:
    STEP 1:
Influence 2: Case 2 is to clear all the data for login (e.g. sa and
password - delete them) and then ticked 'Integrated Security#.
    - Influence
3: #: Check the current datasource is to update connection.
    - Retest opening
the system reports on a workstation.
    - If they are still reporting an error
    try the next step
    - STEP 2:
    - Change the datasource location of
the report from OLE DB to SAP Business One type and leave the
    authentication
information blank. Try running the report in Crystal, and then import to SAP.
And also opened up the Crystal Report via the Edit button in SAP in Reports and Layouts Manager, we then clicked on the database connection and updated all the tables (even though they were the same) and these got the reports needed working. Speaking to SAP it is a known bug and they are releasing a hotfix to resolve it, but try explaining that to a customer !!!
    Hope these help.
    Regards
    Sean

  • Crystal report parameter asking for DB login

    Hi All,
I have created a crystal report in 2008, in my crystal reprot i have a command which gives me 2 columns and a stored proced which give me 6 columns and then i joined them in link tab.
Now in my report i have created a parameter using one the column from command. The data source for both are same database but diffrent tables.
When i exported the report to enterprise and try to schedle it, for parameter option when i try to edit the parameter it promps me for database logon every time (i.e. every time i edit parameter it promps for Db logon) and i have already provide DB creds in database information page.
    BOXI R3.1 with no FP.
    please suggest on this.
    Thanks,
    Nimesh.

In CMC, what option did you select on the Database Configuration section of the report properties?
If it is " Prompt users for database credentials", then it'll prompt users for credentials whenever the report is run.
If it is set to " use same credentials as above" (not exact wording), then it don't ask for credentials.

I created addon for Crystal Reports Installation.
crystal reports are developed in Crystal Reports 10.
    while installing,

    2. if i try to click the menu(means Report) , it is asking for Restart the Addon.
i installed the license perfectly. is there any Configuration problems?
    plz help me asap.
    Regards,
    Anand.

It could be a problem with the code in your AddOn.  Since you can see the menu's it an indication that the AddOn was started.
I suggest you to check your code.  Also post the portion of the code to the SDK forum where development related topics are discussed.

  • Total No of pages different in report printed using Crystal Report XI R2 vs SAP Crystal Reports, developer version for Microsoft Visual Studio (File Version 13.8)

Currently in our application, we are using Crystal Report XI R2 for generating the reports. We are in the process of upgrading the Crystal Report to SAP Crystal Reports, developer version for Microsoft Visual Studio (File Version 13.8). I updated that on my machine and all the reports work fine. I didn't have to modify any of the reports.
However when comparing the reports, we found that there are few reports on which the total no. of pages differ from the report displayed using Crystal Report XI R2 vs SAP Crystal Reports, developer version for Microsoft Visual Studio (File Version 13.8). Comparing the reports, it looks all the data that were fit on one page earlier with version XI R2 doesn't fit on the same page with version 13.8, thereby increasing the page counts.
The fonts, page margins everything set on report itself. Nothing being set in the code.
Both the application is using the same report that is pulling the data from the same database. Our application is a web application.
Any suggestion, why this is happening.
    Thanks.
    Sanjay

I am not sure what is being compared here?
    CRXI R2 designer to CRVS?
CR XI R2 in some version of .NET to CRVS?
CR XI R2 using RDC SDK to CRVS?
Also, is this happening on your development computer or after you deploy?
If you compare the the "Page setup" options dialog between reports that work and those that do not work, do you see any difference?
Is this a web or a win app?
Are you seeing the same issue when viewing and exporting - say export to PDF?
What is the printer driver used and it's version?

  • How to tell that Crystal Report 13.0 for VS 2010 installed on target mach

    Hi,
I developed Windows application that has Crystal Report functionality.
The final step is distribution application development.
I am using Install Shield 2011 to build Basic MSI project.
What is the best registry key value I can use to identify the right version of Crystal Report redistributable has been already installed on target machine?
I think I am going to use one of the key values that located under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CrystalReports13.
    But which one?
Also where can I get the minimum requirements when it comes to windows operating systems that supports Crystall Report 13.0 redistributable?
    Thank you.

I installed CRRuntime_32bit_13.msi on Windows XP SP 3 machine, which is my testing production machine.
    1. Under Add and Remove programs there is only one entry
-SAP Crystal Reports runtime engine for .NET Framework 4(32-bit)
-SAP Crystal Reports, version for Visual Studio 2010 has not been installed because I think there is no Visual Studio 2010 installed on the target machine.
    2. During the installation registry keys have been created
HKLM\SOFTWARE\SAP Business Objects\Crystal Reports for .NET Framework 4.0
These key has another 9 sub keys I am not going to list here.
    3. After I manually uninstall runtime all registry keys have been deleted except:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\SAP Business Objects\Crystal Reports for .NET Framework 4.0\Report Application Server
All assemblies from GAC have been uninstalled
win32_x86 folder has been uninstalled from
    C:\Program Files\SAP BusinessObjects\Crystal Reports for .NET Framework 4.0\Common\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0
I hope this info will help to safe your development time.
    Happy programming

  • Report Viewer asking for Login credentials on Non-Development PC

I have created several reports within Crystal 2008(using the push method). I run these reports in a VB6 application using the Report Viewer. Reports without sub-reports will run on both the development and non-development PC. If I try to run a report with a sub on a non-development PC it will prompt the user for login credentials.
I can run the same report(with a sub) in development or on a PC with Crystal 2008 and Visual Basic installed. I have created a setup.exe to install this on the pc and included both the Crystal runtime 2008 and Crystal Report Viewer 2008 as prerequisites.
    Any help would be appreciated

We created a form in Visual Studio 2008 that holds the Crystal Report Viewer.  We then used Interop to wrap the assembly into a usable reference for the VB6 application.
This was working fine when we were using the pull method for the report but once we changed the code to use the push method reports with subs will ask for a login. No matter what is entered the report will not print to the screen.  The reports without a sub will print just fine.
Not sure what to look for next?
    Thanks for your quick response.

  • Crystal Reports background processing for SAP Business One 8.8

    Dear Partners,
I have an SDK program developed in SAP Business One SDK that works in 2007, it calls crystal reports externally and can be executed as a background task using the windows schedular or from the command prompt.
My problem is it does not work under SAP Business One SDK 2008 PL18 with SQL Server 2008, Visual Studio 2008.
I receive the following message after this line in my code,"oReport.PrintToPrinter(CopyNo, False, 0, 0)".
    'CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.LogOnException: Logon failed.

My Question is what Crystal Reports libraries or other method should I be using ?
Crystal Reports 2008 for SAP Business One eg. 51038978.zip - downloaded from portal obviously dosn't contain the CrystalDecisions libraries.
Crystall Reports 2008 - cr2008_sp3_fullbuild, cr2008fp33.exe, cr2008fp33_mm, cr2008fp33_clickonce - also download from the portal, the cr2008_sp3_fullbuild does contain the crystal decisions libraries.
Finally other choices are crystal reports included with the visual studio 2008 and crystal reports full version direct from Business Objects.
I have tried different versions of crystal decision libraries- eg, 12.0110 or 12.02 but still no joy.
Also if I manage to get the report to fire what should the client be running eg, if they have the Crystal Reports 2008 for Business One do they also need to install the Crystal Reports Run time - cr2008fp33_clickonce.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi John
Since the SDK works in 2007 it will be using the OLD DB access method.
Change the Crystal report to use an OLE DB datasource rather than the SAP Business One data source.

If I change the user agent string in Firefox to that of Firefox 7.0.1 everything works as expected, this implies there is some logic in get_IsNetscape6Up() which is failing because the major browser version as reported by the user agent string is two digits instead of one.
We encountered a similar issue for our legacy pages containing Infragistics 2007 controls but were able to fix that by overriding the System.Web.Configuration.HttpCapabilitiesBase.BrowserCapabilitiesProvider and faking the browser version to 9.80.  Crystal Report Viewer is apparently not using .Net's built in HttpBrowserCapabilities object, is there anything else I can adjust to stop the viewer failing?

    hello Robert
Today must be my day. I already got a reply from PM (normally it takes a "bit" longer...). Anyhow, here is what he said:
With Firefoxu2019s release cycles, I donu2019t think weu2019ll be able to officially support the latest versions
of Firefox at every service release.  We do our best to test the released versions of Firefox
that align with our releases.  I donu2019t know the details but Iu2019ve heard there is a plan in place where
the support team(s) (?) will test the most recent releases of Firefox with whatu2019s currently
shipping by SAP and log bugs as necessary.
(umm, this is my - Ludek note here ) -> news to me re. support doing QA... find out something new every day. Anyhow, continuation of the message from PM:
The current plan for CR for VS2010, the SP3 release (expected in April) will support up to
Firefox 9.  If there are reproducible bugs in Firefox 10 (or higher), then please enter a bug
and escalate and it will be investigated for the next available release.
I'll revisit this once SP3 is out there and do an escalation for Firefox 10 - ok?

Thank you to all who have answered this question posted earlier under queries, I am hoping we can get a combined report using CR, a feat not possible using SAP B1 Query function. I look forward to your advice.

    Hi,
I am not familiar with crystal report. But using queries (that already answered) you can create crystal report.
You can also refer how to guide for creating crystal report in sap b1.

  • Crystal Report Dynamic Parameter for SAP B1 version 8.8

Hi, does anyone have problem with the dynamic parameter prompt for Crystal Report in SAP B1 version 8.8?
    For example:
    1. For static parameter that allows multiple value --> In SAP B1 v8.8, there is a check-box and a "..." button next to it. When you click the "..." button, a new window appear with a list of values to choose.
    2. For static parameter that does not allow multiple value --> In SAP B1 v8.8, there is one field with a drop-down menu.
    3. For dynamic parameter that allows multiple value and does not allow range values --> In SAP B1 v8.8, just one field for us to key in the value. Shouldn't this be the same as No. 1?
    4. For dynamic parameter that does not allow multiple value  and does not allow range values --> In SAP B1 v8.8, same as No.3 above. Shouldn't this be the same as No. 2?
How do I get no. 3 dynamic parameter that allows multiple value and does not allow range values  to have a check-box and a "..." button next to it to allow us to select multiple values?

    Hi Shwu Hua Gan,
    Thank you for your reply.
Please forgive me as I don't really understand what you are saying here. To be honest, I'm very new to Crystal Report and my understanding of CR is just the very basics. I'm actually not from a technical background which makes it more difficult.
    In your reply:
Ie, you create a parameter in Crystal report, and by using the token eg:Mytest@select * from OCRD, it gives you the benefits of selecting the list from the database.
How do you do this by using the token? All I did is just select the parameter type (dynamic) and then select the table. When I preview the report in SAP B1 8.8, it doesn't prompt me like how I expect it to be. It is a blank field that I have to key in the value myself and then only the report will generate. Sometimes I don't remember what value to key in, so I have to do a formatted search for the blank field. After the report is generated, I can reselect the value (multiple values) from the CR viewer panel toolbar and refresh the report.
