  • Crystal Reports 2008 download

    Hi
I'm using Crystal Reports 2008 since 01.01.2008 - we bought it when it was Crystal Decisions Crystal Reports - not SAP Crystal Reports.
Now I want to obtain new installation with all SP included (system reinstallation) but it's impossible - all downloads needs SAP account.
What about old customers that don't use SAP? Where can I find support? How to obtain newest version of CR2008 ??

I don't have a general email, but here is a link to offices ww:

  • Crystal Report 8 download

    Hi,
I can download Crystal Report 8 or 8.5?
And I can use it with my VB6 program in Windos7?
    Thanks,

    No and no.
All stand-alone versions of CR had to always be purchased. CR8 / 8.5 can not be purchased anymore as it's out of support for close to 10 years. You can still purchase CR 11.5 (XI r2).
CR XI r2, patched to Service pack 6 supports WIN 7.

  • Crystal Reports software registration

I recently sold 5 copies of Crystal Reports XI Standard (boxed product) to a customer, and after they worked with the product for a couple of weeks, they decided that the product would not do what they needed, and they ended up shelving the product.  I purchased 2 copies of the product back from them, as I have a need for it in my office.  Unfortunately, they already registered the product, and when I try to register it with my company information, I'm getting a warning dialog that the product has already been registered.  I called the 800 number for support, and they told me that I needed to have this addressed through this forum.  Can you please provide assistance so that I can get this taken care of?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Tim,
No worries. You only need to modify the registry settings. Before modifying the registry I recommend you to take a strong backup of it on a local drive.
We need to make Crystal Reports recognize the valid registration number:
    1. Start the Registry Editor. On the 'Start' menu, click 'Run'. Type 'Regedit' and click 'OK'.
    2. Expand the registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 11.5\Crystal Reports\Keycodes\CR Std
    NB:
CR Std for Crystal Reports Standard Edition
CR Dev for Crystal Reports Developer Edition
CR Pro for Crystal Reports Professional Edition
    3. Highlight the 'CR Std' folder and go to the 'Edit' menu and click 'New' then 'String Value'.
    4. Enter 'Serial' as the string value.
    5. Right click 'Serial' and select 'Modify'. Enter your registration number as the 'Value Data'.
Exit the Registry. When you re-start Crystal Reports, the 'About Crystal Reports...' screen will display your valid registration number
If you are unable to see the changes, please revert to me.

When I try to install Crystal reports on my Dell Optiplex 780 running Win XP SP3, 3.5 GB ram, with Adobe 9 installed and License accepted I get Error 1713 unable to intall one of it's required products. What do I need to do to complete the installation?

  • Crystal Reports for VS2010 crashes when mousepointer comes into report area

    Hello,
Since last week I have a problem with the Crystal Report application for Visual Studio 2010. When I create a new Crystal report project, and move my mouse into the report design area Visual Studio crashes. If I stay out of this area I can launch my report and see the loaded data in the report, everything else in VS works, but as soon as I move my mouse into the report design area it crashes VS.
When I debug I get the following exception:
    System.AccesViolation was unhandled.

The strange thing is that just before my holiday everything worked fine, I have made a report without any problems, the week after my holiday (last week) suddenly I get this exception and can't design any report anymore.
At the forum I found similiar posts, I have followed some advice in these posts but nothing helped. I have done the following:
    - Reinstalled Crystal Reports;
    - Repaired the Visual Studio installation, by running the installer and installed Crystal Reports again;
    - Downloaded and repaired the C++ Redistributable package;
    - Set folder permission of the project folder to Everyone;
    - Download DebugDiag 1.1 and inspect the crash dump for any problems. I am not very familiar with this, thus I can't tell if there's a problem here.
This software comes with the error:

Please let me know how I can resolve this problem.

    mmmm Very interesting....
We know GDIPlus has bugs in it, I've logged a few bugs now for font rendering issues and each time the Developers come back and say it's a bug in Microsoft's GDIPlus and we can't work around it.
I've never heard of this happening by simply moving the mouse over the viewer. Sorry I assumed it was as we have noted in the Kbase articles. It was one of those strange tasks when quickly moving the mouse over the report objects....
Looking over our code we hook into the mouse events and  which is also part of the Video drivers in a low level so it's likely a combination of your video card drivers and hardware.
What Video card are you using and have you tried updating them?
A great tool is called BelArc Advisor, and it's free, to scan your hardware and get all of the info.
If it's that bad and you are still having problems after updating your video card drivers I suggest you log a case with Microsoft to look into the issue. We can get the PDB's for you if they need them to help debug the problem.
    Thanks
    Don
PS - Unfortunately the 2 guys who have done most of the work with the mouse movement problem are off on holidays for a few weeks but likely this is the same problem, just more severe in your case.

  • Crystal Report 11, List of Runtime DLLs, Runtime.hlp File

I am using Crystal Report 11 with my Delphi 7 application.
I need the list of runtime dlls which I will need to distribute with my application.
The Help file which comes with the Delphi 7 VCL Component (UCRPE32.hlp) says :
    QUOTE
    check RUNTIME.HLP in the Program Files\Seagate Software\Crystal Reports\Developer Files\Help folder
and make sure you have all the files.
    UNQUOTE
I could not find the RUNTIME.HLP file in any folder/subfolders on the machine  where Crystal Report 11 has been installed.
Can somebody tell me where I can find RUNTIME.HLP file or the list of runtime DLLs which is required to be distributed
along with my application(which is written in Delphi 7).
        Thanks in advance

    Hello Ramesh,
Business Objects does not support manual deployment of their runtime files.  This started with the release of CR XI (v11.0).  Please see [Business Objects Note 1218571|https://bcp.wdf.sap.corp/sap/sapnotes/display/0001218571] - How to distribute the Report Designer Component (RDC) in Crystal Reports XI for more information.
You may also want to review the RDC deployment article - [Creating an RDC Distribution Package|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/901c0761-cf1d-2b10-dea4-8e83937a9337] - that can be found on the SAP web site as well.
The RDC merge modules do not include the CRPE32.dll.  Since you're using the VCL you'll probably have to add that file manually to your deployment package.
The merge module links in these articles have probably changed.  Go to the [Business Objects Support Software Download|https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/bobj_download/main.htm] page to find the RDC merge modules.
Change the Selection Criteria to this:
    Software Product: Crystal Reports
Product Version: XI, XI Release 1, or XI Release 2 (depending on your version of Crystal Reports)
    Software Type: Utility
You should also be aware of the fact that the VCL is not being updated any longer.  I think the XI (v11.0) version is the last one that will be available.  Additionally, the Report Designer Component (RDC) has been retired with the release of CR 2008.  Going forward you'll have to migrate to .NET SDK or the Crystal Report Java SDK.
    I hope this helps,
    Sincerely,
    Dan Kelleher

  • Problem passing parameter to crystal report subreport from *.aspx page

    Background:
I am developing a .NET web application using Visual Studio 2005. The code behind is in VB.net. One of my asp.net pages calls a report, which is invoked when the user clicks a Print button. I have developed this report using the Crystal Reports software that is bundled with Visual Studio 2005. I am passing one parameter from the asp.net page (utilizing the VB.net code-behind on the Print button) to the Crystal report. The report consists of a main report and 5 subreports. Both the main report and the subreports use the same parameter. Both the main report and the subreports are bound to stored procedures, each of which require a parameter.
    Problem:
For some reason, the parameter is not being passed from the asp.net page to the report. I am receiving the following error: "CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ParameterField.CurrentValueException: Missing Parameter Values." However, when I remove the subreports, the parameter gets passed, and the report is invoked with no problem.
I have read in other forums that there may be an issue with the Crystal Reports software that is causing this problem. I have downloaded and run the suggested hotfix, but the problem remains unresolved. I have tried changing the linking of my main report to the subreport, but that doesn't help either. It is possible that I am doing something wrong with the linking, as this is the first time I have developed a report with Crystal Reports. I need a workaround or definitive solution. Below is the aspx code used to call the report:

I've now gotten past the "missing parameter values" error, and the report renders fine in the report viewer.  However, I've encounted another problem.  The data in my main report displays correctly, but the data in my subreport does not display.  Of course, when I view the report in the designer, both the main report and subreport display correctly.  What am I doing wrong?  Below is my vb.net code:

I am not really familiar with all of the options for charting and what is or isnt in the bundled version.
You can download the CR XI R2 developer edition eval from the website and see if it gives you the graph options that you want.  If it does then I think you can buy it at an upgrade price since you already have the bundled edition.

  • Crystal Report Java Reporting Component Query

    Hi,
If I am using the Crystal Report Java Reporting Component, do I need any other Crystal Report software to be installed during run time?
    Thanks.

    Hi Ron,
the desired guides can be found here:
    http://help.sap.com/javadocs/cr/xir2/index.html
    http://devlibrary.businessobjects.com/businessobjectsxi/en/en/JRC_SDK/default.htm
The reason why you might not find the guide is as of Crystal Reports 2008 the JRC was integrated into the Crystal Reports for Ecplise package and is not availble separately anymore. See also the What' new-guide of Crystal Reports 2008 here:

  • Crystal Reports 2008 Setup Has Failed

I get a setup error as soon as I hit "install" on the English upgrade to 2008 on my Windows Xp Sp2 machine.  I am running XI developer edition on this machine.  The Window title for the error message is "Crystal Reports 2008 Setup Error" and the text is "Crystal Reports 2008 Setup has failed.  If this continues contact http:
support.businessobjects.com".  I tried to open a Support case on this, but the Create a Case screen didn't have anyplace to enter any data at all and ended up just timing out.

I have got the same error message.
I was unable to uninstall the program from the control panel.
Try to install Windows Installer CleanUp software, and uninstall with this program the previous version on Crystal Reports.

  • Report fails to generate on Crystal Reports Server

    Post Author: cmilkosk
    CA Forum: General
    Hello all!
I have a case open with BO on generating a report from a Crystal Reports Server (CRS).  The report works fine when running in Crystal Reports on my PC, but after I send it to the Crystal Reports Server, it fails with a message like:"Failed to open the connection.
C:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 11.5\Data\procSched\metrixdb.reportjobserver\~tmp9bc512965895e0.rpt"This error appears to be telling you that it is trying to connect to
the CRS's reportjobserver process and having a problem, but the service is up according to the Central Config Manager. I tried starting and stopping it, but it didn't make a difference.  This happens for different reports sent to the server.  One common thing that I've noticed is that the reports that connect to the CRS's local SQL Server 2005 database are the ones that are failing.  So, my CRS resides on the same host as the SQL Server 2005 database (which also houses the CRS SQL DB).  Interestingly, reports scheduled that connect to a remote SQL Server 2000 database work fine.  It could be the simplest report that I am running off of the CRS/SQL Server 2005 host, and it still fails every time. Tech support so far hasn't been much of a help. They suggested that I upgrade my Crystal Reports software on my PC to R2, but that didn't fix the problem.Has anyone had any trouble like this before?  If so, have you found out what the cause was?I'm beginning to wonder if it is related to SQL Server 2005 or potentially just that it is connecting to a local database.Note - my CRS's software version appears to be 11.5.3.438.  I'm not sure if I am running CRS R1 or R2 (how can you tell?).Anyone have any ideas? Thanks,Chris

    Hi Aasavari Bhave,
    Thanks for your Quick Reply.
<<Also, when you see the report exported as PDF in the browser, are you seeing all records\labels on 1 page or are they separated across several pages just like in CR Designer>>
when i export the report all the records are seperated across several pages. i am using adobe print to print the report.
<<How are you printing the report, using Adpbe print or printoutputcontroller.printreport?>>
I am printing the report using  in 2 different ways.
    1. Using adobe print
I have designed the label report for 1.1 height and 3.5 width  in crystal report designer. but when i generate the report with pdf browser as output the report height and width are 11.0 height and 8.50 width.
    2. Using printoutputcontroller
I am printing the report directly from the application using printoutput controller . when i print using print output controller i am getting an exception "printer's imageable width is too small".
My application is developed in java. Please help me to display this report in my application as per the page size I mentioned and also how can i avoid the exception  "printer's imageable width is too small".
