|-XXXX.DBF
 |-プロパティ
   |-データベースタイプ:xBase
   |-サーバータイプ:pdbxbse.dll
   |-サーバー名:XXXX.DBF

Hi Again,
That is very strange, almost like a pop up blocker is enabled.
All I can suggest is to use ProcessMonitor and look for Access Denied errors to see if that helps, likely some security setting is blocking the linking UI from updating itself.
And/Or purchase a case on line and get someone in Support to work with you directly to fix the issue. It's beyond what forums can do now.
Here's the link:

  • An error in Crystal Reports Basic for Visual Studio 2008

    Greetings from Peru,
    We have a problem with one of the Crystal Reports products weu2019d like you to help us with. We work with Crystal Reports Basic for Visual Studio 2008.
    The error weu2019ve detected is in one of our systemu2019s reports; this report shows data inside frames. When the content to show is larger (in height) than the space left in the page, the container object of the report makes a line break keeping the title and the frame empty at the end of that page, but  the information is shown in the next page. What we need is that not empty frame is displayed.
    Weu2019ve tried to solve this problem by adjusting the report in different ways (by programming coding), but unfortunately this problem is related to how much data is displayed, because if this data fit in the space left in the page, the line break would not occurs and the data is shown at the end of the same page.
    We hope you can help us with this issue.  I look forward to your comments.

    All I can think of is trying CR 2008 (v.12.x). You can obtain an eval copy from here:

  • Report containing 15 sub reports crashing - Crystal Reports 2008

    I am using Crystal report 2008 with all latest service packs applied. I have more then 20 different reports wich work absolutely fine and never crash. One of my report contains 15 sub reports since its bringing data from 15 different queries. This consistently keeps crashing everytime I try to run it. Not sure what could be the root cause.
    We are using Postgres database and connected to it with  ODBC connection using Microsoft DSN.
    - All Subreport data is being displayed on Report Footer
    - All subreports are included in the Main report  page header section. (I have also tried doing it on report footer section but it still crashes)
    I have tried searching through the forum and did not find similar issue resolutions. Did someone face similar problems before?
    The crash message is:
    "crw32.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry of the inconvenience."
    Error report contains this data:
    AppName: crw32.exe      AppVer: 12.2.0.290      ModName: psqlodbc35w.dll
    ModVer: 9.0.2.0      Offset: 0004c538
    I am using Windows XP
    Crystal Report Version Details:
    CR Developer Version 12.2.0.290
    Product Type: Full
    Let me know how can I debug this issue? Any help is appreciated.

    @Don - We performed extensive testing for this crash issue and found that now this crash is not happening only in one scenario. So we have partially fixed this.
    Now the report crashes if I get disconnected from database and reconnect. This is what happens
    1. open the report in crystal report 2008
    2. try to run the report when db is connected- it works fine.
    3. Now disconnect the database (we are using ssh tunnel to connect to db so we just close the tunnel)
    4. now try to refresh the report - it fails to retrieve data.
    5. Now close the report without saving it.
    6. Now Close Crystal Report.
    7. Now Connect the DB using ssh tunnel so crystal report can connect.
    8. Now open Crystal Report
    9. Launch the target report.
    10 Preview the report - it works for first time.
    11. Now do a refresh keeping same parameters - Report crashes here.
    - I tried these steps with some of my other reports and they do not crash.
    - Now I have only one report which contains a Postgres Query with date range,order by and a union join.
    - No subreports now - I am trying to run this one subreport as a standalone report which I created from scratch(using blank report wizard) and just copied the query.
    Any more pointers would help.

  • Migrating crystal reports XI to crystal reports 2008

    Hi,
    Currently we are using crystal Reports XI for our reporting.
    Planning to migrate to Crystal Reports 2008.
    Do we need to change all reports ,which are developed in Cr Rep XI.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Ravi

    The source of the problem is the "re-import when opening" option on the sub-report - if I remove the tick, the report is saved to the repository and the program does not crash. Is this a known issue, or is there some restriction in 2008 which did not exist in XI that I am not aware of. I did download Crystal reports 2008 SP2 but I have not installed as the notes say it is not compatable with Server 2008 SP1.
    I have the follow versions installed...
    Crystal Reports 2008: 12.1.0.892
    Crystal Server 2008: 12.1.0
    CMS database is on SQL Server 10.0.2531

  • Deploying Crystal Reports Basic for Visual Studio 2008

    I have Windows Forms project using Crystal Reports Basic for Visual Studio 2008
    I can't find the merge module to include in the setup project like I used to do in Visual Studio .NET 2003
    Everyone seems to say that they don't exist for that version of Crystal Reports
    After searching for a long time I found something about a package located at
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v6.0A\Bootstrapper\Packages\CrystalReports10_5\CRRedist2008_x86.msi
    Tried it and it seems to work.
    Do I have to install this to the client computer ? Is that the only way having a "Crystal Reports Basic Runtime for Visual Studio 2008" in the program list of the client computer ?

    Hi Victor,
    We can download all the runtimes from the following link:

  • Deploying crystal reports basic for visual studio 2008 for VB6

    My application has a module in .net and other in vb6.
    I have a problem on deploying crystal reports in client machines, for module in vb6.
    The vb6 application uses crystal viewer control obtained from crystal reports basic for visual studio 2008.
    What type of deployment should I use?
    Currently, I have a setup with prerequisite "crystal reports basic for visual studio 2008".
    But I think it misses the dlls crviewer.dll and craxddrt.dll, so I put them in setup and with the register COM options, and it works, but it's not working very well.
    When I open a form that uses crystal viewer, the setup (I have created) is lunched and says that have to restart machine. Then it opens the report, but the next time I use the application it does the same thing.

    Ok, thank's for the posts, they help so much.
    So I'm going to discard vb6 and move to .NET, but... there is a problem:
    Many reports have parameters that are asked before showing the report.
    The Crystal Viewer that is used in VB6 version isn't the same used in .NET.
    The viewer of VB6 asks the parameters in the way we want, however the .NET crystal viewer ask's the parameters in way that we don't like, because we have to do next -> next -> next...
    The links above show the diferences:
    VB6 ->  http://picasaweb.google.com.br/paulo.gonc/CrystalReports#5249249283702618322
    .NET -> http://picasaweb.google.com.br/paulo.gonc/CrystalReports#5249246459437178242
    There is a way to configure Crystal Viewer, so that parameters asking form will work like the vb6 away?

  • Keycode missing in Crystal Reports Basic for Visual Studio 2008

    I just upgraded from Visual Studio 2005 Professional to Visual Studio 2008 Professional (with SP1 installed also).  Crystal Reports Basic for Visual Studio 2008 is listed as installed under the VS Help dialog, but no key code is shown.  And when I attempt to open a Crystal Report, I get a dialog saying 'Please wait while Windows configures Crystal Reports Basic', which eventually terminates with an 'Invalid Keycode' message.
    I've tried repairing the Visual Studio install, and even uninstalling and reinstalling the whole thing.  To no avail.
    Other facts: My VS 2005 version still works with its version of Crystal Reports.  I am running Vista Professional.  Looking in the registry, under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE | SOFTWARE | Crystal Decisions | Crystal Reports | VSNET | Keycodes | CR9 NET, I see a Type REG_SZ with a data value in the form xxxxxx-xxxxxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [6 chars-7 chars-26 chars].
    Help! How do I get Crystal Reports Basic for Visual Studio 2008 to work?

    Hi Elaine,
    Thanks for your response.  I do have versions of Visual Studio 2003 and Visual Studio 2005 on my machine, and the earlier versions of Crystal Reports worked with these versions.  In addition to the registry key I cited earlier (which I now understand is a VS 2003 version), there is an entry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE | SOFTWARE | Crystal Decisions | Crystal Reports | 10.2 | Crystal Reports | KeyCodes | CR Ent.  I see that you are correct, and this corresponds to my VS 2005 installation (which still works).  However, there is NO entry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE | SOFTWARE | Crystal Decisions | Crystal Reports | 10.5 (the CR  Basic for Visual Studio 2008 path you indicated).  There is an entry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE | SOFTWARE | Business Objects | 10.5 | Crystal Reports, but it has only keys for ChartSupportPath, CommonFiles, DisablecheckForUpdates, and Path.
    The Windows\assembly folder has 25 files that are CrystalDecisions.xxx, version 10.5.3700.0.  This is consistent with my seeing 'Crystal Reports' listed as installed in VS 2008 Help.  But no KeyCode!
    I tried a complete uninstall and reinstall of VS 2008, without luck.  I can't clean my system of earlier verions of Crystal Reports, because I am still supporting a body of work that I did under VS 2005, and I can't convert all this stuff to 2008 -- at least until I have a fully working VS 2008 suite.  After this experience, I fear that if I were to uninstall an earlier version, i might never get it back!
    I've spend quite a few hours on this with no luck, so any help would be enormously appreciated.

  • Crystal Reports Supported on Windows Server 2008?

    Right now, we have it running on Server 2000, but server is being replaced. Would like to go with Windows Server 2008, but, making sure application compatibility first. I have searched the internets, have even called, and cannot get a straight answer.
    What Windows OS does Crystal Reports support? And by support, I mean "work without glitches".

    Well, there's both gated and ungated content, but Crystal Reports, Crystal Reports Server and Crystal Xcelsius should all have ungated equivalents.
    It's just that not everyone on this side of the web browser has got the message.
    I do regret this.
    The CR2008SP1 supported platforms (ungated) is found here:

    Windows 2003 is supported, and Windows 2008 is supported starting with SP1.

  • Crystal Reports 10 and Visual Studio 2008

    Hi All
    I've got an application that I recieved from my cleint. This is running Visual Studio 2008 and Crystal Reports 10 backend being Oracle 10.2
    However, when I try to run the applincation and open any report it pops up an error "crdb_oracle.dll" not found.
    I have searched this on the internet and found that there were many suggestions there. I've tried all the suggestions like reinstalling the Oracle client, Re Installing Crystal etc.,
    But the error remained as is.
    When i try to do a regsvr32 on this dll it fails. Am really not sure why this is happening
    Any help from any one out there is highly appreciated.
    Pavan
    UPDATE:
    I've verified the versions though. They are workign fine at the customer place.
    Here is what they have done.They have got Oracle, VS 2008 and Crystal Reports 10. They got the reports embedded into .NET environment and are able to view the reports.
    But when we try to execute the same code, it pops up the error, "Crdb_oracle.dll" could not be loaded.
    Wanted some support on this.
    Additionally, could you suggest on what needs to be done? Do we need to upgrade crystsal to crystal 2008? Will this work without any errors on the execution side (I'm sure that the customer of mine will not be happy or willing to upgrade but atleast if I get a confiramtion from you I can atleast quote this to the customer) and without any extra redesiging of the reports or any other work on the reports

    Edited by: pavan kumar on Jul 30, 2008 4:01 PM

    Hi, Pavan;
    Likely the problem is that the report was created with a different version of Crystal Reports than the one that ships with VS.NET 2008 (Which is Crystal Reports Basic for VS.NET 2008 - version 10.5). If the report was created with a full version of Crystal Reports, then it would have access to our native Oracle driver, the dll that is giving you the issue.
    The full version of Crystal Reports would install that dll, but the .NET version would not. In order to distribute that DLL, yes, the client would need to develop with the full version of Crystal Reports, in this case Crystal Reports 2008.

  • Cannot "SAVE" or "SAVE AS" a crystal report for version 9 or 2008.

    I have a Windows 7 Professional 64-bit Aspire laptop.
    I can design and modify reports in Crystal Reports v9 or Crystal Reports 2008.  When I try to SAVE the report (or "SAVE AS") nothing happens.  No reports can be saved or saved to a different name.
    Can anyone tell me how to fix the SAVE function in Crystal?
    Thank you.

    Hello,
    Crystal 9 doesn't support that OS and CR 2008 requires Service Pack 2.
    It's likely a permission issue, check your application event logs or anti-virus software logs or run ProcessMonitor from Microsoft and see it it logs the access denied errors.
    May be DEP related also, search here and you'll find more info on how to disable it for testing.
    Thank you

  • Report works in Crystal Reports, but not when scheduled in Crystal Server

    Hi,
    I have a pretty simple report designed in Crystal Reports 2008. Basically it shows a list of call notes (memo field) from customer activities in our CRM system. The report works fine in Crystal reports, but when run or scheduled in Crystal Server 2008 the output is always blank. Furthermore, the page format etc. is "lost" in crystal server, so that the output is PDF of a quadratic blank sheet (not my standard A4 format)... Exporting to other formats - excel, Word etc. all gives the same result.
    I have tried to strip out various formulas, formatting etc from the report, but nothing helps. Which leads me to thinking that the real problem is that the report contains a memo field? Anyone else had this problem?

    Hi Claus,
    I've had issues between what Crystal does and what the Report Server does.  To resolve this, we found out Crystal Reports 2008 latest service pack has some things that will fix Server 2008 and they aren't in the latest Server update.
    We updated Crystal Reports 2008 on our machines.  Installed the latest update for Crystal Server and then installed Crystal 2008 on the Report Server and installed the Crystal Reports 2008 update.  A lot of our compatibility issues went away after that.
    Good luck,
    Brian

  • Cannot Extract Embedded Font in PDF Report Generated Using Crystal Reports XI

    The issue is that sometimes the PDF reports generated by Crystal Report XI are not showing the fonts properly. Arial font is used in the Crystal report template(.rpt file) for field label and data elements. When the report is opened in Adobe Reader, it displays the message - "Cannot extract the embedded font 'AAAAAA+ArialBold'. some characters may not display or print correctly." Other PDF Readers like Foxit show blank spaces instead. I tried to change the font to Courier New, Times New Roman etc but still getting the same message.
    The issue is consistent when the application is deployed in Windows server. When deployed in Unix server the issue happens very occasionally. The font files are available and installed in the UNIX box.
    Please tell me why this error message is shown and also tell me how to get it fixed.

    Hi Scot
    Just replied to your email re. conf call.
    In the meantime.
    1st question.
        Some of our developers are creating the reports under crystal 2008, while some are 2011.
        Could this be a problem, when they are run by the SDK?
        Should we upgrade all our developers to crystal 2011?
    The version of CR a report is created in should not matter at all. I am 100% certain this is not the issue.
    2nd question
        When the report is run, to create the pdf... why would it actually embed the font on the pdf?
        if they weren't embedded.. wouldn't it just pull up the proper font, if the user's pc had that font on their
        pc?
        if it does the common fonts aren't embedded, we would just have to worry about the things like
        barcode 3 of 9
    I can not answer this as that essentially is the way the product is designed. It may look like a limitation, but there are no work-arounds and I would not consider this to be a bug. Perhaps an enhancement, but a pretty faint hope there. And even if, enhancements take very, very low priority and take long, long time before implementation.
    3rd question
        Would the fonts, just need to be installed on the server?   we've seen some indication, that they
        also need to be in a java sub-directory
    The fonts must be on the server as that is where the report engine does it's work, then the report is streamed to the user's browser. E.g.; there is no work done on the browser. Also, the process must have rights to access the fonts.
    One last point. You mention deployment to Linux. Linux is not supported. Please see: SAP Crystal Reports, Developer Version for Microsoft Visual Studio - Supported Platforms
    I suspect this is more an issue with CR not working with the framework for Linux.

  • Error after migration to Crystal Reports 12 for existing reports

    Hi,
    We had reports written using Crystal Reports Version 8.5. These reports were not modified for a long time. Recently, we had migrated to Crystal Reports 12 (2008). Some of the these existing reports were modified using the Crystal Reports 2008 designer. After installing our application (we ship Merge Module of Crystal Reports 12 i.e. 2008 which gets installed in GAC)
    1)  If we create new reports in 2008 designer and try to view these reports, it works as expected without any issue(s).
    2 ) However, if these modified reports are tried to be viewed, there is an error which states "Database Logon Failed".
    Details:
    CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.LogOnException     {"Database logon failed."}
    ErrorID     CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.EngineExceptionErrorID.LogOnFailed
    InnerException     {"Database logon failed."}
    Message      "Database logon failed."
    Source     "CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.DataSetConversion"

       at CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument.ExportToDisk(ExportFormatType formatType, String fileName)
    TargetSite     {Boolean ThrowDotNetException(System.Exception)}
    Also, it is worth to note that if we try to view these modified reports from any environment which has both Crystal Reports 10 and Crystal Reports 12 in GAC, then these reports work as expected.
    P.S.  We have mechanism in application's code to reset the database connections when any report is being viewed using ReportDocument class' method.
    From the above scenario I believe issue is specific to migration to Crystal Reports 12 (2008).  Any help /workaround to solve this problem will be highly appreciated.

    Make sure you have the latest SP for CR 2008  installed;
    https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100009038092009E/cr2008win_sp2.exe
    Ensure you are deploying SP 2 runtime;
    MSM
    https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100009159092009E/cr2008sp2_mm.zip
    MSI
    https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100009159002009E/cr2008sp2_redistinstall.zip
    If that does not help;
    1) Do these reports work in the designer?
    2) What database are you using and what is the connection type?
    3) Compare the dlls loading on the systems where this app works (environment which has both Crystal Reports 10 and Crystal Reports 12 in GAC) and a system that is giving you the error. Use the [Modules|https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100006252802008E/modules.zip] utility.
    4) Open the reports in the designer and look at the properties in the Database menu -> Set Datasource Location. Check to see if there are any differences between the two reports.
    5) If there is a subreport in the report that causes the issue, remove it and see if the report works without the subreport.

  • Reuse Crystal report Viewer For different reports - unload cache

    So I am migrating from crystal reports basic to crystal reports 2008. I have hit a stumbling block. Rather than have a new page and report viewer for each report I decided it would be easier to have one report viewer and send to it in session variables the report I wish to run and appropriate parameters. This seemed to work fine in CR basic.
    Now I have upgraded the viewer works fine for the first report I run however it then caches this report and doesn't seem to clear it down, if the new report has different parameters I will get a parameter error. If I run a report requiring the same parameters I will get the original report not an updated one.
    I believe I need to leave the CrystalReportSource cache on in order to page the report (correct me if I am wrong)
    I have taken a few snippets of code, is this possibly running too late in page life cycle have I missed something or is there a way to force a cache clear:
    protected override void OnLoad(EventArgs e) {
    //setup report in viewer with correct db logon
                    CrystalRepSource.Report.FileName = report;
                    SetupLogonInfo(CrystalRepSource);
                    //add parameters
                    AddParam(paramFields, pfItem1, dcItem1, "@year", year);
                    AddParam(paramFields, pfItem2, dcItem2, "@school", school);
                    AddParam(paramFields, pfItem3, dcItem3, "@division", division);
                    AddParam(paramFields, pfItem4, dcItem4, "@progArea", progArea);
                    AddParam(paramFields, pfItem5, dcItem5, "@type", SessionHandler.record_type);
                    AddParam(paramFields, pfItem6, dcItem6, "@filterText", "School = \'" + school +

    ok so I have tried changing the code to:
    CrystalRepSource.ReportDocument.SetParameterValue("@year", year);

            try
                    CrystalRepSource.Report.DataSources.Clear();
                    CrystalRepSource.Report.Parameters.Clear();
                    //CrystalRepSource.ReportDocument.Close();
                    //CrystalRepSource.ReportDocument.Dispose();
                    CrystalRepSource.Dispose();
                    CrystalViewer.Dispose();
                    GC.Collect();
            catch { }
    I experimented with various bits in the page unload as you can see I have commented a bit out at present as it was throwing an exception. The SetParametersValue while handy (will clean the code up a bit) didn't make any difference I am still getting the same issue.
