Crystal Reports vrsion 5 compatibilty with Oracle 11

Hi,
We are currently running Crystal Reports version 5 on Oracle version 10. Now we are migrating to Oracle version 11. Could you lt me know that whether Crstal Reports version 5 is compatible with version11.

Absolutely nothing would be guaranteed with Crystal Reports 5.  It's past its EOL by a while now.

  • Crystal Report XI SP2 with Oracle

    Hello,
    We are migrating our applcation to Visual Studio 2008 with all reports to be designed in CR X1 SP2. Our database is Oracle 10g. Our reports can be based on Stored Procedure or SQL Queries. can someone point me to some good tutorial/link to start on this. How can i configure my database or how to call reports.
    Thanks

    Hello, Vijay;
    Crystal Reports XI R2 is not supported with Visual Studio 2008.
    Your choices are:
    u2022   Use Visual Studio 2005 with Crystal Reports XI R2
    u2022   Use Crystal Reports 2008 Basic (10.5) that bundles with Visual Studio 2008
    u2022   Use Crystal Reports 2008 (12.0) full version with [Service Packs |https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100010503722008E/cr2008_sp1.exe]

  • Crystal Report 9 connectivity with WebLogic 10.3.5

    Hello,
    Is the Crystal Report 9 certified with WebLogic 10.x? Currently WebLogic 8.x is in use. Trying to upgrade the WebLogic.
    Thanks

    What does this have to do with Database Connectivity?
    An I doubt it, CR 9 is about 8 or 9 years old well before 10.3 was released. Check the Platforms PDF's for more info.

  • Problem with crystal report that comes with VStudio 2008 Database edition

    Hello,
    I'm using crystal reports that comes with Visual Studio 2008 Database edition. But I'm having a problem these days. When there are more than 4 pages in the report, the summary field in the pagefooter(usually sum of data in the Details section) show 0 in the first page.It will be displaying in all other pages. I couldnt sort out the problem.I'm binding data to the report from an SQL Server 2005 table.
    Thanks in advance.I really appreciate if some one can sort out the problem quickly.

    Have not heard of the issue, but download SP1 and see if that helps:

  • How to get one crystal report to work with two different backends?

    We have a software that can work with either SQL2008 or Visual Fox Pro backend.  We are trying to compile One Crystal report that will work with either of the two backends.  How to you make sure that your Crystal Report is compiled so that it will work with both backends?
    Right now my reports were originally created using the SQL2008 backend and are retaining the DBO reference in the statement, which then will not allow the Crystal report to work with the VFP backend.

    You can write your data sets as a command using hand coded SQL. As long as "dbo" is the only schema used in your SQL Server database, you don't need to specify it in the SQL. SQL Server will automatically assume the dbo.
    The 2nd thing... The SQL needs to be 100% compatible with both SQL Server 2008 AND VFP.  This will limit the list available functions to those that are common to both platforms AND work exactly the same in both platforms.
    The other part is to make sure you are using an ODBC type connection instead of OLD/DB. That way all of the connection properties are set on the local machine and the report is simply looking for the System DSN name.

    Hi Sri......
    It is possible if you have SAP 8.8 and above version.
    Once you designed Crystal Report and Import it to certain menu then please go to Authorization and give it permission accordingly......

  • Need help Connecting Crystal Reports 8.5 with GBS Agency Expert 6.7.6c

    Need help Connecting Crystal Reports 8.5 with GBS Agency Expert 6.7.6c.  I need assistance on connecting these together so I can run a report.  I am not an IT person so if someone could dumb it down it would be great.
    Thanks,
    NBGHealth

    Hello,
    I assume GBS Agency Expert 6.7.6c is some sort of database or data source? If you have an ODBC driver then create or use a System DSN to the database. Then you can create a report using that DSN.
    Otherwise I suggest you contact the makers of GBS Agency Expert 6.7.6c and ask them how to connect to the database.
    Let them know CR is ANSII 92 ODBC 3 compliant.
    Thank you

  • Crystal Reports: How to change Oracle OLE DB server at runtime

    Post Author: dvlasman
    CA Forum: Data Connectivity and SQL
    I'm using a rpt made with Crystal Reports 8.0.1 and VB 6. The report was made using the Microsoft OLE DB provider for Oracle. What I want to do is change to Oracle server / database the report is connecting to at run time before the report is displayed. I am using the Crystal Report Engine 8 Object Library (cpeaut32.dll), not the ocx.After creating the report object:Dim CrystalReport As CRPEAuto.ReportI open my report and discard saved data:'Open The ReportSet CrystalReport = CrystalApplication.OpenReport(msReportSource)CrystalReport.DiscardSavedDataConst sDBServer = "ORCL.SERVER" 'My TNS name for the Oracle ServerConst sDatabase = "ORCL.SERVER" 'I'm not sure what this value should beConst sUID = "system"Const sPwd = "manager"I was then going to change the database connection one of two ways:1:Dim objDatabaseTable As CRPEAuto.DatabaseTableFor Each objDatabaseTable In CrystalReport.Database.Tables    Call objDatabaseTable.SetLogOnInfo(sDBServer, sDATABASE, sUID, sPWD)    If (Not objDatabaseTable.TestConnectivity) Then        Debug.Print "Database failed connection: " & objDatabaseTable.Name    End IfNextSet objDatabaseTable = Nothing2:call crystalapplication.LogOnServer("pdsoledb.dll","MSDAORA.1",sDATABASE,sUID,sPWD)Neither of these two way gets me a successful connection. What am I doing wrong, and which is the preferred method to use?ThanksDean

    Did you get a resolution to your problem? I cannot dynamically change the datasource location in .NET using CR XI via OLE DB for Oracle. I get "This field name is not known." messages and when I try using the set datasource location in the designer tool, the mapping dialog box comes up with no fields in the right box. Thanks, Brian

  • Crystal Report Viewer Not Releasing Oracle Database Connections

    I have a very simple vb.net 3.5 web application that uses the Crystal Report viewer 2008 to open a report. My requirements are as follows:
    1. Reports are built by another company and provided to us and used in a web environment
    2. All reports contain parameter fields
    3. The web application must be generic enough that a report can be added to a list and the user simply selects the report and provides database login information. The Crystal report viewer with handle the request for parameter values and prompt the user for their values.
    4. All reports connect to an Oracle 10g server.
    The above requirements have been meet and we have an extremely simple web application that runs the reports. It is working very well other than the crystal report viewer is not releasing the database connections. This is bad because the credentials are on a per user basis and that same user must login to a different oracle application simultaneously. They are being denied access because the credentials are already in use. We do not have control nor influence over the policies in use on the Oracle server. Ideally we would like to control the Crystal Report viewer so that it closes connections after use.
    The web application code is:
    Private Sub viewReports_Init(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Init
    If Not IsPostBack Then
    ConfigureCrystalReport()
    End If
    End Sub
    Private Sub ConfigureCrystalReport()
    'Load the Crystal Report viewer with a report.
    Try
    Dim reportPath As String = Server.MapPath(Session("reportname"))
    crViewer.ReportSource = reportPath
    Catch ex As Exception
    Response.Write(Server.MapPath(Session("reportname")) & "
    " & ex.Message.ToString & "
    " & ex.StackTrace.ToString)
    End Try
    End Sub
    Can anyone shed some light on this topic? Thank you

    Hello, Timothy;
    By default, having the report in session will hold it open for 20 minutes.
    If you create the report as a ReportDocument object you can take it out of session and release it more efficiently. That will release the connection.
        Private Sub ConfigureCrystalReports()
            If (Session("hierarchicalGroupingReport") Is Nothing) Then
                hierarchicalGroupingReport = New ReportDocument()
                hierarchicalGroupingReport.Load(Server.MapPath("Hierarchical Grouping.rpt"))
                Session("hierarchicalGroupingReport") = hierarchicalGroupingReport
            Else
                hierarchicalGroupingReport = CType(Session("hierarchicalGroupingReport"), ReportDocument)
            End If
            myCrystalReportViewer.ReportSource = hierarchicalGroupingReport
        End Sub
    In the Form Unload of the Viewer:
                'Take the report out of session
                Session("hierarchicalGroupingReport")  = Nothing
                Session.Contents.Remove("hierarchicalGroupingReport")
                'Clean up the ReportDocument object
                hierarchicalGroupingReport.Close
                hierarchicalGroupingReport.Dispose()
                hierarchicalGroupingReport = Nothing
                GC.Collect()

  • How to Pass parameters to Crystal report 10 based on Oracle Stored Procedur

    Hi,
    I use the following code to pass the parameters:
    Rep.Tables[0].ConnectBuffer := Connection_Str;
    Rep.Tables[0].AliasName := 'REP';
    Rep.Connect.Propagate := True;
    Rep.ParamFields.ByName('Lang', '').CurrentValue := IIF(BiDiMode = bdRightToLeft, '2', '1');
    Rep.ParamFields.ByName('SESSION_ID', '').CurrentValue := IntToStr(Session_id);
    Rep.WindowState := wsMaximized;
    Rep.Show;
    The 1st parameter 'Lang' which created from crystal report pass well,
    but the 2nd parameter 'SESSION_ID' which created from Oracle Stored Procedures give the following Error:
    Error: 202 Parameter Name could not be found u2013 ParamFields.ByName
    However in MS SQL Server the above code work fine with the 2 Parameters.
    Any one has solution,

    Hello,
    Click on the businessobjects Tab above and then select Samples and dowload the sample app you for your SDK. There are a few samples for changing/setting Parameters.
    The Parameter collection has all parameters.
    Thank you

  • Crystal Developer crash, connecting with "Oracle Server" (Unicode DB): "buffer overrun"

    Post Author: mdde
    CA Forum: Data Connectivity and SQL
    Hello everyone!
    We're experiencing the following error, connecting with "Crystal Developer XI" or "Crystal Developer 2008" to a unicode-configured Oracle 10g Database using "Oracle Server"-driver and choosing a table:
    ERROR MESSAGE: Buffer overrun detected!
    Program: ...essObjects Enterprise 12.0\win32_x86\crw32.exe
    A buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the program's internal state.The Program cannot safely continue execution and must now be terminated.
    This error is reproducable by 100%. We're normally using it because of performance, but now we have do work with "Microsoft OLEDB" instead.
    STEP BY STEP: Open CR Developer, File, New Report, New Connection (to unicode instance - this is a must), "Oracle Server", (Login without checking "OS auth."), Double click on table, Error.
    DETAILS: "Oracle Database 10g Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Production", Oracle-client used by CR Developer: "11.1.0". OS: Windows XP, SP2
    We tried CR SP4 and SP for 2008 edition. Didn't help. Nothing on google, nor in this forum, nor in BO knowledge base.
    Does anyone also experience this error / know anything about? Thanks in advance!
    David
    P.S.: Picture:

    Hi Aaron,
    I highly recommend that you only have ONE oracle client installed. Oracle tends to have problems finding the correct dependency versions of their runtime. One way is to change your PATH statement so it only has the one Client listed but I highly suggest you uninstall both and then install just the 11G client.
    Also, when CR connects to Oracle we query the DB and load all tables, SP's Views, etc. and when the local resources are filled up we stop. So when connecting be sure to check off the options not being used and add filtering in that UI also for your schema as well.
    One last change, close the designer down and then go into regedit and this location:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SAP BusinessObjects\Suite XI 4.0\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions - DoAutoSmartLinking and set the default value to No if it's not already.
    Thanks
    Don
