Crystal Reprots Format

Hello All,
I had a question concerning the format of crystal reports.  Is there anyway possible to have the information displayed vertically instead of horizontally?  I know ift may seem like a wierd question, but I'll give you an example.  My company produces benefit statements for pension plans.  Crystal Reports can only display information for one individual at a time I think (in each section).  I can fit all the fields I want to display in one section, then I can have horizontal rows of individuals on one page.  But is there anyway for me to have the fields going up and down in one section and have more than one person's information display in the section?   Here is the format that I'm asking about:
Employee Name:                              The first employees name           The second employees name             The third employees name
Employee Address:                          The first employees address        The second employees address          The third employees address
Daste of Birth(DOB):                         The first employees DOB            The second employees DOB               The third employees DOB
Date of Hire(DOH):                            The first employees DOH            The second employees DOH               The third employees DOH
Date of Participation(DOP):               The first employees DOP             The second employees DOP               The third employees DOP
Spouse Name:                          The first employees spouse's name   The second employees spouse's name  The third employees spouse's name
Spouse Birthday(SDOB):                  The first employees SDOB           The second employees SDOB               The third employees SDOB

Not sure if this will be helpful but you could try Section Expert---> Format with Multiple Columns. I'm using Crystal XI. This is only available in the detail section as far as I know. I'm still learning all this stuff.

    Hi Neetu,
Do you wish that at all customer site all concern involved in implemtation do the same work ?
I believe ERP is meant for single entry system, and it should be true for implementation also, why to invest man hours for the same task ?
I expect it standard reports should be released by SAP, so that speed of implementation improve, we have more nos. of satisfied customers.
customised reports is all together different and it is understood that it is needed to be developed after study the exact requirement.

  • Changed number format in vs 2008 versus crystal report format

I am using Crystal report designer  11.0.0.1.282  and I am able to see the numbers in the format I want . example is the year 2012,2013, etc.
I don't want any decimal  point to be applied to this like 2013.00 because it is just the year and it should be 2013. when I ran the report in preview inside the designer  , everything looks fine. but when I ran the report from our client application, the year format comes as 2013.00
In the Crystal report designer, I have checked the File menu /Options , when the Options dialog that opens up , I have selected Fields tab and have chosen the Number field and have selected the Style for the numbers through all the report to be -1123
the report used to show up with correct format up until a couple of weeks ago, so I am not sure what may have caused this. I was hoping there might be a solution to this.
I have attached how the year shows in the chart legend both in designer and from our client application (VS2008)
greatly appreciate any help and if you could point me to right direction

Your System properties may have changed. If the field is set to system it will use what ever your defualt system is set to. Change the field to use format:

  • VS2005 - Crystal Report Formatting Problem

    Hi,
We have a text object in crystal report designer (ASP.NET) which has static content in bold and justified format. The report should be printed in Portrait mode. While printing the report, the space between the words in the static content is getting truncated. Please suggest a solution.
We are using crystal report that comes with VS2005.
    Thanks.

Make sure you are using SP 1:
    https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100006007872008E/crvs05sp1.exe
See if using the option "No printer" helps (under Page Setup).
Make sure you are using the latest printer driver.
    If the above does not help;
Are you seeing the issue on your development computer, or after you deploy to a server?
Does the worker process on the server "see" the printer driver? To check this, use the following code:
    Dim myPrinter As String
    For Each myPrinter In System.Drawing.Printing.PrinterSettings.InstalledPrinters
        Response.Write(myPrinter)
        Response.Write("<BR>")
    Next

  • Crystal 2011 - Formats lost when published to CMC

    Hi team,
    Here's my issue...
Have exported a Crystal 2009 report and saved it into 2011.
I noted that some of the formats had changed slightly. i.e. font size, paragraph line spacing
Fixed these, ran the report from crystal 2011 and exported the report to PDF, looks great!
Published the report to CMC and ran a test hoping to get the same results, however this time the formats are gone?
Can anyone tell me what I've done wrong, please.
    Thanks,
    Simon

Thanks for your reply, the formats are being lost when I export to PDF.
We wonder if the problem is something to do with the way the text was formatted in the older version of crystal and that exporting and importing into Crystal 2011 has lost some of this.

  • Crystal Reports Formatting issues when exporting to Word Editable document

Version: CR XI, I am editing a document exported from CR to Word Editable
When exporting to a Word Editable (.rtf) document the formatting changes.  For example: lines that were drawn in the report do not come across, there  is a tab in front of each line and a carriage return at the end of each line and spacing and justification formatting are not the same.  Is there a way to export to Word Editable and keep the formatting integrity? This report was developed by a third party but I can edit it if needed.

Pages 5 is, as an early reviewer put it, "an unmitigated disaster." Not only does it lack some 100 feautres that are present in Pages 09 (4.3), it is also VERY buggy, A quick look through these discussions will reveal a painful litany of data corruption, files that cannot be opened, lost data, and other anomalies. Links do not export reliably to PDFs, and, as you've discovered, export to .docx format is unreliable. Sadly, the best advice is to trash Pages 5.1 and use Pages 4.3 or — yes, it's come to that — Word instead.

  • How to use crystal Reprot

I want to work crystal report but i don't have any idea. Please give me idea how to work.
How to install crystal report and how to create crystal report please give me link Crystal
report down-loader and give me crystal report  integration kit also. now i am using sap ecc6.0
    Thanks alot in advance.

    Hi Richa,
First download the CR user guide from here.
You may download the 30-day evaluation for CR 2013 from here.
If you have an S-User ID, then you would want to download the Full Build from the Downloads section on the Service Market Place.
P.S: CR 2013 does not need the Integration Kit.

  • Crystal Reprot 12

    Hi,
I took crystal report from SAP and that report is generated and displayed in JSP. But in report navigation is not working!  navigator and print options are act as an image.
Kindly help me to solve this issue. But previous version its works fine.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
I was expecting this to work with other Fonts.
Please check if the Font is licensed --> Validate if the font license is valid.
If this is a trail version, the trail period must have come to an end.
Use Font that have the Valid License, because when a Crystal report is exported to PDF, its even saves the Font details and if really valid then only it would work as expected.
    Or
Else copy the Font from other machine, this I will work only if the Font is licensed or else if  the Trail Period is valid.
As Abhilash said we need to concentrate more on the Font not on any other settings.
    Cheers,
    Kiran

  • Printing Crystal report using Generic Text output - formating lost

Hi. I have an accounting system using Crystal to generate it's business forms, in particular invoicing as reports. Recently we have installed new printing system that needs generic text to capture and create the business forms (invoices) into a graphic and text. When Crystal sends data to Generic Text Printer, you can view it ok as a preview but it moves text around , bunches it up and formatting is never the same for two documents. I need resolution as the printing software needs fixed text in a specific location within the data file.  Is there a way in Crystal to format fields so they dont move the data and bunch it up. The business forms written in Crystal have sub reports that are supressed if no data is to be printed, but finding text is moving and hard to capture a fixed location in text file. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Hello,
    Thank you for your responses.
Yes, I'm using a bundled version that came with VS 2005.
I'd love to download this update, but I cannot get there! I don't have an login and password for this site, and I don't know how to get them.
This is all I'd found about this issue in this thread:
    http://www.crystalreportsbook.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=844
"I opened an incident with Business Objects.  They said there is not a way to do what we want to do with the Crystal Reports for .NET assemblies.  They are going to implement a way to create a postscript file and include it in Service Pack 3 of Crystal XI Release 2.  They would not say how the postscript will be created (ie, ExportToDisk or any other method), only that they would include it in CRXI Release 2 SP3 which they intend to release sometime this coming winter. "
"Just an update...this has been fixed in Crystal XI Release 2 Service Pack 3.
I just finished testing, and it now allows you to print to a file without prompting the user.  We are now able to create a postscript file."
    Thanks,

  • RCIRAS0546 Error - Unable to Export a Crystal Report from BOE XI (SP3) 3.1

    Hello,
We have just upgraded to Crystal Reports 2008 (from Crystal Reports 10) and BOE XI 3.1 sp3 (from Crystal Enterprise 10).  The reports created in CR 10 open and generate just fine from within CR 2008, and they are saved to BOE XI.  When I view the CR from within BOE XI web gui, the report displays fine in Crystal Report format.  When I attempt to export the report to .pdf, I get the error "Your request could not be completed because a failure occurred while the report was being processed. Please contact your system administrator. [RCIRAS0546]"  I tried exporting the report to Word, Excel, RTF, and CSV and did not get any error.  Adobe Reader IS loaded on the server (we are running direct on server right now to test before deploying over web).
This does not happen with all of our reports, and we can't figure out why it happens with some and not others.  Another thread on the forum led me to believe it may have been due to subreports, but this is not the case as the reports that error sometimes have subreports, sometimes not.  Some reports have formulas, some do not.  I can't find the common design between them to cause this issue.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!
(FYI - I've changed the default Input and Output directory of the servers from the default C drive to the D drive as it is larger.  I simply overwrote the placeholder and ensured the folder path existed - which it does.  Not sure if this applies.  I also pointed the temp directory to the same D location)

  • Trying to schedule report as pdf but it comes out as Crystal Report

    Hi,
we have a problem in Crsytal Reports Server 2008 whereby a user in Infoview tries to schedule a report to the default enterprise location as a pdf. However when the schedule runs the report format is returns to the defaul Crystal Report format.
The user is in the Admin's group, and when the same schedule is set up by the user in the CMC it runs fine as a pdf.
Does anyone know why this is happening - does SP2 for CRS 2008 cure the problem?
    thanks
    Keith

Hi, sorry for the slow reply...
I'm not sure where to find the specifications you asked for. I do have another question however.
When I set the easy setup to DV-PAL, in the easy setup window where it tells you the specifications, it says the output is 720x576. When I switch to DV-PAL Anamorphic, it still says in the specifications that the output is 720x576. Should it not switch to 1024x576 to make it anamorphic?
When I've exported movies from the timeline (when everything is set to anamorphic), and played them back in quicktime, the 'inspector' tells me that they're "720x576 (1024x576)". I don't understand why the 1024x576 is in brackets and it doesn't display them as such.
I hope that this makes sense and I've given you enough information to work with. If you can help me I' be very grateful!

  • Crystal report rpt file import error.

    Hi,
when iam  importing rpt file after updating it's showing system message This  SQL transaction has completed,it is no longer usable. and it's showing operation sucessfully completed but it's not showing in manage crystal reprots list.plaese help me how we can show reports when we impoer new rpt files.
    regds,
    sampath.

I think, at the best what you can do is password protect the report to isolate it from any changes being made.
Go to File>>Report Options and check the 'Save lock report design' check mark. You will be prompted for a password and then the report is safe from any undesired modifications.
Unless a valid/correct password is provided, users will not be able to make any changes in the report, however they will be able to open/view it.
    Thanks

  • Exporting Crystal report into Excel with code

I have written the following code to export crysal reports to excel. • Export Arabic Crystal Report To PDF

    Hi,
I am using JRC component to build crystal reports in English & Arabic. All works well except exporting Arabic crystal report to PDF?
    Crystal File Format Schema: 12.0.0
I was reading another 3 years old thread and this was stated there:
"If you are using the Java Reporting Component, you will not be able to see Arabic characters in your PDF document because the JRC does not support font embedding, and only works with a specific character set when exporting to Adobe" Any from SAP can you please confirm that does this still hold true? And are there any chances or plan to add support in future?
    Regards
    SC

Please disregard that part of the previous message.
As mentioned earlier, it depends on which of our products you are using to export the report.  If you are using the Java Reporting Component, you will not be able to see Arabic characters in your PDF document because the JRC does not support font embedding, and only works with a specific character set when exporting to Adobe.
If you are using the Crystal Reports designer or BusinessObjects Enterprise SDK to export the report, you will need to ensure you have the character set installed on the same machine; for BOE SDK it needs to be on the machine with all of the services.
