What is the use of adding second Detail area in Crystal report?
i.e Detaila & Detailb

Hi
It is basically depend upon how you can use it .Details sections are like repetitive area .
When you put field name in Detail A- you can get a header or mean column name
you cannot get header /column name for detail b.<that's the basic difference >

ALV Crytal Report Ehp 2.0

Hi All.
I was recently reading the book by Thomas and Rich - Next Generation ABAP.
In the ALV section, it says that with Ehp2.0, we can have crytal reports in ALV without any license or any additional server infrastructure.
We only need to download the Crystal Report Viewer which I have done.
But I still do not see the Crytal Report icon that is shown in the book example.
Any other setting that I need to do to get that?
I tried SALV_CRL, but could not find anything in that transaction. The default one is already there.

Hi,
I connect via the button Open Report in BW. Then I recieve the SAP GUI Logon scrteen, where I maintain my datas. When I press OK, it hangs for a while, about 2 Minutes and then the follwing error pops up:

Report Explorer Web Part - Edit Web Part

Hi,
I have the Report Explorer and & Report Viewer Web parts installed and working
Now, I would like to configure the Report Explorer to open the reports in Report Viewer, but I dont see the "Connections" property.
In the Report Explorer Menu I only see the "Report Manager URL" and "Start Path" properties. Where is the
"Connections" property?

According to your description, you want to connect the Report Explorer to Report Viewer so when you click a report name in Report Explorer it is displayed in Report Viewer. So you are trying to find out the ‘Connections’ property to achieve this goal.
Based on my test, just as you said, when we click Edit Web Part in the Report Explorer Web Part context menu, we can only see ‘Report Manager URL’ and ‘Start Path’ properties. Because the ‘Connections’ property is located at the Report Explorer context menu.
After typing something in ‘Report Manager URL’ and ‘Start Path’ properties, click OK, then move the mouse to the Report Viewer row to click a black downward arrow. Then we can see the ‘Connections’ property in the drop-down list.

Useing Crytal Report in SAP B1

The steps to use crystal report in SAP B1:
1. Creating addon or report form that is integrated to SAP B1. This is an interface.
2. Creating a report launcher that can be a form listing the reports
3.Prior to creating report launcher and addon, you must develop the layout of crystal report and database connection setting
Usually, there is no crystal report created without integrated to SAP B1 except using addon or interface.

Capture the list of fields from Report Explorer?

Is there a way to readily capture the list of fields used in a given report from the report explorer or field explorer? I want to streamline my command to only select the fields in use for a given report, and it would be easier if I had a list for each.

There are usually stored procedures or views available in the database that will list the fields in tables. I don't think the API is consistent, though, so you should check your database reference.
The other thing that you could do is use "select *" during development, then note which fields are checked in the field explorer (indicating it's used) and replacing the * with the list of fields once your more or less done with the report.
Note that if you're not using an SQL command (selected a table instead), I'm pretty sure Crystal only requests the fields from the table that are used by the report.

"Catastrophic Failure" trying to export from Crystal Reports Explorer v10.5

In using Crystal Reports Explorer v10.5 (add on to Crystal Enterprise v10) I am trying to export just over 211k records to MS Word.
The data is coming from a Business View (created in Business View Manager) that uses an OLEDB connection to an Oracle database.
I get the following error message:
CrystalReportVIewer
Error caught in ICrystalReportGridViewerImpl::render
webReporting.dll '0x80004005'
Catastrophic failure
line: 16031
I have no idea what's causing this or how to resolve it. Can anyone assist? Thank you!!

No - it doesn't work with any of the viewers and the same error occurs. I think we've determined that it's due to the amount of data and the % of resource allocation in order to export the results. The query behind the data is pretty complex, and the Oracle views that are being accessed are also pretty beefy. It's just a huge hit on resources. I've advised my client to provide more filters & reduce the amount of returned rows to see if that clears things up. I'm waiting to hear if they are successful. Thanks for responding, though! I'll update once I hear from the client.

Hi All,
We are using BO XI R2 version.
1. Under this version, the BO Enterprise product consists of Crystal Reports Explorer feature through which we can develop the crystal reports.
2. And under the same version, the Crystal Reports XI R2 product consists of Crystal Reports feature through which we can develop crystal reports.
I want to know, wheher there is any difference in the features for developing crystal reports through point 1 and point 2. If yes, then which product is the better option to go for Crystal reports development. (please note: I want the all the scheduling, automatic printing, printing on pre printed forms, etc features to be supported)
Please help us to solve this confusion ASAP.

The server info still needs to be updated. Are you setting location for each subreport also?
Possibly this registry key will help, I only have CR 2008 installed so you'll have adjust for what ever you are using:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Business Objects\Suite 12.0\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions - VerifyStoredProceduresOnFirstRefresh = No
and
VerifyStoredProceduresOnSetLocation = No
And
VerifyWhenDBDriverUpgraded = No
And
ViewOutOfPlaceSubreports = No
Close CR designer before making any changes. And the usual warning about modifying the registry.

Keycode problem tryng to access BO Crystal Reports Explorer

Hi,
I´m receiving the message "You do not have the correct keycode installed to use this option" when trying to access BO XI R2 Crystal Reports Explorer, and I don't know why, because i have already registered the product and it´s the only application of the suite not working and asking me "a correct keycode". Is it possible that it has to do with the evaluation, temporary keycode used during setup? Must I get an unlimited license for BO XI R2 in order this app to work? Or exists a way to use a separate keycode only for this app? Please help me

The link you provide points to SAP marketplace logon validation, but because of the fact that I don´t have a marketplace user and password, it is necessary for me to request a password. Then, I try to generate one using Option 2 and for that the system asks for "Customer or Installation number" (and suggest that it should be found in System -> Status or Help -> About).
How can I find Customer or Installation number, in my BusinessObjects Enterprise XI software?

Error when use Crytal Reports with Delphi.

Delphi 2010 and CR2008
When i code :
           Crpe1.ReportName := 'c:\temp\invoice.rpt';
           Crpe1.Output := toPrinter;
           Crpe1.Print;
Problem with Print Method !
Error : 538
Error in File invoice.rpt:
Parameter has invalid structure size.

Pleave help me fix this error !

Fields reorder when saving report in Crystal Reports Explorer

We're using Crystal Reports Explorer within BOE XI R2, and have noticed that when saving a report and reopening it the order of the fields changes. It seems to happen all the time and there doesn't appear to be any rhyme or reason to what happens. Does anyone know how to keep this from happening?

You need to update the "Object Changeability" in BW for Crystal report objects.
to do this:
1. run transaction /nRSA1
2. Select the transport connection tab
3. click the "Object Changeability" button
4. Select the "Crystal Report" line item
5. right click and select "Everything changeable"
6. Exit transaction

Can Crystal Reports, Explorer, and Dashboards co-exist happily on the same server?

We are currently using BO 4.1 SP2. We have two servers: the main borep server that hosts the BI platform, and a second server that only has Explorer on it just now. We want to install CRE and Dashboards on the Explorer server (on our DEV infrastructure) so we can play around with those tools.
Are there any know issues with this approach?

Are you sure there is no server component to CR4E? There is a certainly a Crystal application available within BI Launchpad. When I launch it, it pops open a window prompting me to download a crystal for enterprise file with the extension BCPL. Browsing this forum, it seems that you get this message if you've not installed C4E on the borep server.
So I'm not sure what the inbuilt Crystal app is for - only for viewing but not designing reports within Launchpad?
Any ideas?

Linking Two Crytal Report Enterprise

Hi All,
I am trying to link 2 diff crystal Reports. Using Hyper link.
Now problem is if I pass simple hyperlink it is working Fime.
But I am unable to pass parameter.
Do some one know how to pass parameter from one crystal report to Another Crystal.
Note- I am using 2011 Enterprise. Not 2008(I know how to pass in 2008)

FMS & Labels in case of Crytal reports

Hi Experts,
The issue i have made few reports through crystal report designer and deployed the reports into SAP.
My reports consists of some selection parameters.
There are two reports named A,B.
In report A selection criteria is item code and name for which i have applied FMS but i want this FMS to work only for 'A' report not for 'B' but it is working for even 'B' also since UID is same.
Also another issue is -
My label name also changes automatically if i have changed it for one report which i have assigned thorugh text promt feature which is in crystal designer.

Crytal Report Problem in Grouping

I have problem in Group By option of Crystal Report. I have problem using Group By Option by selecting original order instead of ascending.When i used original order idata is not summarised i.e. not group
