CS 3 Bridge crashes / freezes when trying to run the slideshow feature

A while back I deactivated Photoshop CS3 that was installed on my laptop. Then this past week I went to reinstall it again. One thing I noticed was that the PS-CS3 and Bridge Icons were still residing on my desktop. I went into the "add/remove programs" and sure enough there was PS-CS3 sitting there. So I tried to do an uninstall first. When I clicked the tab to do a remove program it just sat there. I contacted Adobe Tech support and they sent me the script to to an uninstall. It worked, the Icons went away and so I proceded to do a new install. I entered the serial numbers and activated it and all seemed well. Then I went into the Bridge, everything seemed ok there too. I was able to use the RAW converter, view thumbnails and the rest. Then I went to a specific folder where I had some files that were converted to JPEG to run the slideshow feature. That is when Bridge hung up and a few seconds later it closed the preview window that had opened for the slideshow preview.
Does this have something to do with the amount of RAM on my laptop? Or maybe the cache? I ask because I had never needed to use the slideshow feature until now and everthing seemed ok even prior to uninstalling and reinstalling.
I have 1 gig or ram... the hard drive is 350 gigabytes and there is a ton of room still available. The processor is ok. Oh also, I have Lightroom 2 installed on this machine too and it's slideshow feature runs fine. But I would prefer to use the slideshow feature in bridge.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated

Copy the jdev_home/jlib/redist/uix2_install.zip file to
jdev_home/jdev/redist folder . It will overwrite an existing uix2_install.zip file.
Close and open the Jdeveloper IDE. It will prompt you for upgradation of projects. Press OK button in response.
Now you should be able to run the JSP pages.

Back up all data.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
Step 1
If you have more than one user account, and the one in question is not an administrator account, then temporarily promote it to administrator status in the Users & Groups preference pane. To do that, unlock the preference pane using the credentials of an administrator, check the box marked Allow user to administer this computer, then reboot. You can demote the problem account back to standard status when this step has been completed.
Triple-click the following line to select it. Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):

Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command will take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear, then quit Terminal.
Step 2 (optional)
The first step should give you usable permissions in your home folder. This step will restore special attributes set by OS X on some user folders to protect them from unintended deletion or renaming. You can skip this step if you don't consider that protection to be necessary.
Boot into Recovery by holding down the key combination command-R at startup. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open.
In the Terminal window, type this:
resetpassword
That's one word, all lower case, with no spaces. Then press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not going to reset a password.
Select your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
Select

Afraid Compressor won't work with MKV. If you have access to a system running an earlier version than Mavericks, and with Perian installed you can use MPEG Streamclip or Quick Time Pro to convert to a mov.

I assume that you are not using VS2013 Express version. In order to get the reason about the hang issue, please use devenv /log to gather activity.xm log and find HR error from this log.If it shows some package corrupt, try to repair your VS.
Here are my general suggestions:
Please try to run devenv /ResetSettings (in command prompt) to eliminate the related potential settings problem.
Try disabling Add-ins (e.g. “Tools” | “Add-in Manager”) or run “devenv.exe /SafeMode”.This can eliminate the possibility that third party Add-ins or packages are causing problems. Also you can try these command lines:
devenv.exe /resetskippkgs and devenv.exe /resetuserdata
Try to create a new user account. This can help isolate user profile corruption related causes.
If the suggestions above are no help, please reinstall your VS.

I've run the DTP & loaded the cube using normal transformation routines , it works fine in the Dev Sys but not in quality & production. I've access only to the Dev sys. In Qual & Prod when trying to run the DTP from Cube to open HUB
we're getting the following error

My system support package level is SAPKW70106.
I've found note 920338 but is for SAPKW70107.

The issue seems to be with the one of the routines in the transformation and similar kind of the issues were solved by retransporting the DTP & the related transformation.
Kindly reactivate the DTP and transformation in the source and execute a new request to transport the DTP, transformation and related routines to Quality & Production again.

Error when trying to run the rcu.bat file as part of OBIEE 11g installation

when trying to run the rcu.bat file as part of OBIEE 11g installation on windows 7 64 bit I am getting the following error
"windows cannot find C:\Users\manoj\Desktop\Oracle.Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again".
Please help me how to overcome this error, I am not able to understand why it is looking for C:\Users\manoj\Desktop\Oracle.

after setting the ORACLE_HOME and Path environment variables also....I am still getting the same error...so is it like RCU can be run only on windows 7 32-bit machines and it does not work on 64-bit machines? and also it seems like the previous versions of OBIEE 10.1.3.X does not support windows 7 64-bit machines...
please help me finding a solution to this error....
and what are all the versions of OBIEE can be installed on windows 7 64-bit machines?
can't we install OBIEE 11g on windows 7 64-bit machines without including RCU?

You could of course use Safari your default browser as a quick method of accessing gmail until you figure out the Firefox problem. (More than one browser may be used on a Mac or other computer).
Is this the only site you have problems with ? and does Safari work ok ?

Why do i get a daq hardware configuration required window when trying to run the daq solution wizard?

hi brian, thanks for your help. i have recently received version 6.1, and done a complete re-install. i have also downloaded the latest ni daq (6.9.2) and ni dsa (6.11) versions and installed them, but still i get the same error message when trying to open the solutions wizard (please see attached powerpoint presentation).
upon selecting the "go to ni daq config utility" option MAX opens. everything appears to be in order (device passes test, test panels run ok and virtual channels are configured correctly). i am unable to go any further.
i would appreciate any guidance that you are able to give me in this matter. many thanks in advance of your help.

Error 201 when trying to run the demos !! HELP !!

Hello, we are just trying to run the demos provided in the ZIP file that comes with the XDK version for Solaris 9i and we are having problems apparently with the encoding thing.
I dont really have a clue how to make it run or provide the right encoding parameter. I have attempted to use every single parameter, UTF-8, ISO, ASCII, etc
anyone had this problem at the very beginning?? or know how to solve it?? we r just beginner trying a start jump in XML and all this parser matter.

System preferences freezes when trying to change the date

Hey guys,
I've got a MacBook Pro running OSX 10.4.1. I'm having a problem with trying to change the time/date settings. Either going through the system preferences window or accessing it through clicking the clock in the top right and then 'open date & time', I get the spinning wheel and System Preferences crashes. Any ideas why?

You are probably running 10.4.10 in as much as the MacBook pro's came out well after 10.4.1 was released. In any case try deleting the file com.apple.systempreferences.plist in your user/library/preferences folder.

OpenCL freezes when trying to run kernel code

Hi,
I have some openCL kernel that runs through pixels stored in a frame buffer object, and counts non-black and non-white pixels. It used to run fine on my machine, but I believe that updates to Mac OS X and/or devtools might have caused a problem to cause it stall.
The kernel object associated with the kernel code is attached to a QT window, and the kernel code is run n-times when the window requires an render update. This window is updated twice after it is created initially, which means that the sequence of openCL code does not cause problems initially. When I bring the window to the foreground, it requires another update and attempts to run the kernel code another n-times. But in the middle of those n-times, it stalls. i.e. if it needs to run 51 times, it stalls at iteration 26. It appears that a call to clEnqueueReadBuffer causes a stall.
I'm going to leave out details about why I use the openCL code unless it's absolutely necessary since that might confuse code. I thought it would be good to focus on the OpenCL code itself. Here it is for reference: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/10838242/forumsquestion.cpp

Now, if I were to comment everything BELOW the initial call to clEnqueueWriteBuffer, it would stall at that function call instead. I have no idea why this occurs. Any help is greatly appreciated.
If this problem is indicative of something more problematic then I guess Apple support might be one option. System specs: MacbookPro 8,2, Core i7 2.2 GHz, AMD Radeon HD 6750M, OS X 10.8.2.

Oh, I see, sorry, if it is legitmate, then ignore my post. My copy runs perfectly so I was wondering why yours did not. I understand that its a valuable computer, in fact, for the amount of money you payed for that mbp, you can build a computer of your own with state of the art components. Just saying. @sig, lets hope that he finds something on the support page to help him.

It seems that something might still be corrupted or not registered properly. Have you tried running the TestStand Version Selector to re-select your current version of TestStand as the active version?
Also, you mentioned that it crashed and now things aren't working. What exactly occurred when it crashed? Was this just TestStand freezing, or did the entire system freeze or crash? Did you see an error message of any kind?
If the version selector doesn't help things, I would suggest a reinstall of TestStand (and possibly CVI, but let's start with TestStand). To clarify, we want to do an uninstall/reinstall rather than a repair, because the repair will only replace missing files. If a file is corrupted, the uninstall/reinstall should replace it.
