Cs 4 with adobe acrobat 9 pro.

I have reloaded cs 4 with adobe acrobat 9 pro. But I get a repair setup message and whether I check the boxes or not, nothing happens and the program will not load.

Hi Roger,
I am sorry for the inconvenience caused, lets try to resolve the issue.
I will recommend you to completely uninstall CS4 following the steps mentioned in this KB doc. Adobe - Adobe CS4 Clean Script
2) Restart your system
3) Now re-install CS4.
Let me know if you still experience any issue.

  • Fatal error distributing forms with Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro

Fatal error distributing forms with Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro.
    I click
    "Adobe Acrobat Pro/Formularer/Distribuer formularer/"
    ("Adobe Acrobat Pro/Forms/Distribute forms/")
and chose a form for distribution and in the picture "Distribute Form" chose
"Automatically download & organize responsees with Acrobat.com".
I then click "Next" and write an email-address to send it to (i.g. to my own)
    and then click "Send".
    The program quickly writes
    "Authenticating email-addresses"
and then gives the following error message
"Borland Database er ikke installeret. Kan ikke indlæse tjenesteudbyder af Corel-adressekartotetek."
("Borland Database is not installed. Can not read load service provider of Corel address directory.")
When I clik "OK" I get the error message
"Adobe Acrobat has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
I have undeleted and reinstalled Adobe Acrobat many times without any effect.
The same procedure has been tried on another computer without any problem.

  • Can't open any PDF file with Adobe Acrobat XI Pro

I have tried to open multiple Acrobat files but none will open. I get a FATAL ERROR message saying: "Acrobat failed to connect to a DDE server."  I've created documents in word and publisher and am able to convert to pdf format but after the pdf file has been created I cannot open to view and I get the error message. Please help! Thank you!

No I am thinking that the problem is with Acrobat XI Pro. Because as previously noted I can create a Word document and save as a PDF, the PDF document will be created by Acrobat XI Pro but will not open with Acrobat XI Pro, which normally happens automatically upon creating the PDF file from say Word, Exel, Publisher, etc. When I try to open with Acrobat XI Pro it give me the FATAL ERROR message saying: "Acrobat failed to connect to a DDE server". Since I could not open any of my PDF documents with Acrobta XI Pro, because I had Acrobat XI Pro as my default PDF creater and reader, I installed Adobe Reader, hoping that it would allow me to view the PDF documents that I had just created with Acrobat XI Pro and it did. The problem is that I cannot open Acrobat XI Pro to creat or edit or add PDF restrictions on  a PDF document straight from Acrobat XI Pro, but I can create a, say Word document, and save as a PDF file. Before installing Adobe Reader I could not open, see or edit the just created PDF file created through Word it is just now after installing Acrobat Reader.
    Also worth noting.
I have been told that this same problem happened sometime ago with Adobe Acrobat X Pro (Vesion 10) and that the problem was fixed by editing something within the registry. Does anyone know anything about that? Thanks!

  • Problems with Adobe Acrobat XI Pro

Last week I installed via Adobe Creative Cloud the new "Adobe Acrobat XI Pro" on my computer. After the installing I couldn´t open it, so I deinstalled it. I thought it is a problem of my computer. I tried to reinstall the software with the Adobe Application Manager, but it says that I allready installed it.. What can I do now?

I still have an Application Abode Installer manager. Inside this manager I just see, download and install all the adobe programs. After downloading and installing, there is an single folder for each program. Inside this folder is an uninstaller just for that single program. Finally I have 7 folders with 7 uninstallers for 7 programs. Everything works, exept the Acrobat XI Pro. I see all the program folders on my disc, exept the Acrobat XI Pro one (and there was the Uninstaller inside). It don´t exist an Application Folder for all the programs, just the Manager.

  • Problem printing with Adobe Acrobat X pro. No File Save As dialog

We have a C++ program to print a formatted report, by selecting the configured  printers. "Adobe PDF" printer is available on install of Adobe Acrobat Pro.
During report print  when "Adobe PDF" printer is selected, the report use to get printed in a PDF document & saves at the path provided by the User.
Internally it uses printer APIs like  OnBeginPrinting, StartDoc, OnPrepareDC, StartPage, OnPrepareDC etc.
Report printing was working fine with Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.1. But since I installed Adobe Acrobat X pro (with update as 10.1.3) I am unable to print PDF document using "Adobe PDF" pinter.
StartDoc API does not pops up the "File Save As" dialog at all.
Any help in this regard, would be very useful.
Note: My code is working fine, if I use freeware like CutePrinter.
    Thanks,
    Amit Agrawal

    Interesting. My approach would
    1. Try on a different system if available. If still bad...
    2. Try to create a simple test application with CreateDC and StartDoc, and really nothing else not absolutely needed.
Test that.  If it is good, look for other problems in your application (e.g. memory overwrite).
If your little example is still bad, post it here and other people can try and compare your results.

  • Adobe reader XI no longer plays video or audio embedded in PDF created with Adobe Acrobat X Pro.

    Help please!
Embedded video and audio content in PDFs created using Adobe Acrobat X Pro does NOT play on some school computers after Acrobat Reader XI is installed. The media content played fine with Acrobat X. This is seen with both XP and Windows 7 machines.
Bizarrely, other machines with Windows 7 and XP play the video and audio content fine when Acrobat XI is installed.
Please help, as the PDFs are the delivery mechanism for a very effective literacy programme for children, and this bug has halted delivery for a considerable number of schools and thousands of children are in trouble!

    Hi Raman,
I think we have found the source of the problem. It relates to how different browsers are detected by Adobe when updating Flash Player.
To make the videos play within PDFs either from DVD or on the hard drive, it is now essential that Adobe Flash Player 11 Plugin (now version 11.5.502.113) is installed. (Adobe Reader 10 had its own internal flash player, so an external player was not needed)
We have discovered that, when Google Chrome is the browser, automatic updates of Flash do NOT download this programme. Flash 11 ActiveX is the only programme that is downloaded, and the videos do NOT play from DVD or harddrive.
Also, it is not possible to manually download Adobe Flash Player 11 Plugin as this option is not presented to the user. Presumably Adobe have set it up this way, because the Adobe site recognises Chrome is being used, and assumes that the computer does not need the plugin flash player, as Chrome has its own internal flash player. However, other programmes may need it!
We went to FileHippo to download the non-IE version (even though we were using Chrome!) at
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_flashplayer_firefox/
Then the videos played from DVD or harddrive.
I have not been able to test how this works with other browsers. I hope that Adobe can sort this problem out asap!
    regards

  • I have encountered the following problems with Adobe Acrobat XI Pro version 11.0.9 with OS X  "Yosemite" version 10.0.

    1. PDF files from the Internet can be opened but graphics do not appear. In place of the graphic the area is colored gray.
    2. I use an HP scanner to create PDF documents. I am unable to use Adobe Acrobat XI to scan from my HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus.  Apple reports an error.  However, I can scan documents to PDF using an HP utility, however, these documents cannot be displayed  by Adobe Acrobat XI Pro, and therefore, cannot be edited or used to create forms.  The documents can be displayed by Adobe Acrobat Reader.
These problems also existed under the previous OS X system “Maverick”. Please tell me that only a change in setting is required to be able to read and edit these documents created via scan or describe a usable work-around solution.

Point 1: try turning on "Show large images" in your preferences. In Acrobat for Windows, it's under the Page Display preferences. I'm not sure about OS X.

  • When will firefox 4 be compatible with adobe acrobat x pro?

I am missing the convert icon from Adobe Acrobat X Pro when I upgrade to Firefox 4, so I had to go back to the earlier version of Firefox.

You will need to ask Adobe about this, they will need to update their add-on to make it work.

  • Edit Formscentral form with Adobe Acrobat 9 PRO

Since Formscentral is being discontinued, I would like to be able to edit my forms with Acrobat 9 Pro. I have saved my forms from Formcentral as a PDF, opened them with Acrobat, saved a copy to remove the security, then opened it with the Forms wizard. Once I get to this point I am unable to edit the text of the form. What am I doing wrong or is there a better way to achieve this?

I would also like to know.
It seems we all have to recreate the forms again in indesign since indesign cant read a pdf form.  Is this really true.  Shame on Adobe  if it is.
    Please let us know.

  • Hp convert to pdf license interferes with adobe acrobat x pro

Windows 7, Office 2010 with the HP Convert to PDF plugin.  Installed Adobe CS5.5 Jan 7, 2012, on this computer.  Everything worked fine.  Sometime later (last summer?) my CS5.5 Acrobat X Pro failed, symptom is that it hangs in a loop asking me to accept terms and conditions.  In Word, if click on addins, I find HP convert to PDF and also that its license has expired.  I think this is the reason that my CS5.5 Acrobat X Pro no longer works.  Can you pls tell me if you agree and how the heck I get my Adobe license back?

I renamed my PDF Complete folder so Word couldn't find it and now I can make pdfs in Word.  But I still have the endless demand to accept terms and conditions if I try to open Acrobat X Pro to  make a pdf.  Bizarre.

  • Keynote 08 Flash Export not compatible with Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro

    Hello
Our company uses Keynote extensively for presentations. We also give presentations online using Adobe Acrobat Connect Professional (hosted, formerly known as Macromedia Breeze - <http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobatconnectpro/>). Where as it's a great environment for online seminars (best I've seen), it fails dramatically when you upload a looping Flash file created in Keynote. I first tried this in Keynote '06 and now in '08.
When I tried in Keynote 06, the animation was three slides looping, synced to an audio track. When I tried in '08, it was one slide with (the new) animations looping over 20 seconds (or so) without a soundtrack.
I have some contact with Adobe, and this issue has been sent to their engineering department, but they seem to think there's something funky about the format of the file that Keynote exports. I'm trying to gather more data for them to investigate with.
Does anyone know what version of Flash Apple's export is most like? Do we have any specs on the file export format?
Has anyone tried using Flash exports in other Flash-using online environments?
    Thanks!
    ~brian

I believe I figured it was somewhere between Flash 5 and Flash 6. I say this because while the resulting presentations could be opened in QuickTime (which only uses Flash 5) a better result would be achieved by viewing in the browser. Either that, or QuickTime's Flash 5 support isn't complete.

  • Strange issue with Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro

I have a user who has a very strange issue. When she clicks the acrobat pro shortcut, adobe reader launches. The target path of the shortcut is correct and even when I drill down through C: and program files all the way to acrobat.exe, reader launches.
even running acrobat.exe from the runline launches reader instead of pro
    any suggestions?

The other option is to go into the task list and disable AcroRd32.exe. One of the problems with both Reader and Acrobat being installed is that they leave a part resident for fast startup (I think this can be disabled). Thus Reader is likely sitting there partially open in the background and when you click on Acrobat, it sees Reader and opens there. You might check the startup list in MSCONFIG and see if you can disable AcroRd32, but once Reader is run it may leave it there again anyway.
It may be best to uninstall Reader, but you will likely have to repair AA8 Pro after the uninstall since the uninstall usually breaks the versions that are left.

  • Constant Crashes with Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended

    Hello
I always have real difficulty getting this program to work correctly.
Is there a downloadable installer which contains the latest updates where the program will install and work properly yet? i.e. a full 9.3.2 download without having to install 9.0 and then update twice to get the program to work correctly? Even with 9.3.2 it is bugy and unreliable.
I have to install version 9.0 which will then fail to open with a C++ error message saying pure virtual function call (I can't remember exactly). I was originally told by Adobe that this was not a bug and it was my system even though it happened on every PC I tried to install on. It turned out it was due to them not testing the program with roaming profiles/folder redirection which a lot of people use. It then took over a year for them to manage to fix this.
Luckily a fix is now available so at least I can use this expensive piece of software again without having to give everyone local accounts for their PCs. The update does not work though. If I download the 9.3.2 update from the Adobe website and try to install, it tells me that the program to be updated is not installed and refuses to update the program.
If I log in locally and then go to Help > Update, the updater tells me a new version of the updater is available and needs to be installed. It downloads this and tries to update, at which point a command window appears and then I get a message saying the program has stopped working correctly and must be closed.
I can however run it from the program files/common files/adobe/updater6 directory
This then installs 9.2 and I have to restart and repeat the process for 9.3.2 and restart again.
Then it is hit and miss whether the program will automatically just close after accepting the licence agreement or work correctly.
In cases where it doesn't I have to uninstall and go right back to the beginning. I have tried the suggested fix of pressing the enter key to accept it and manually accepting it in the registry. Neither work for me.
Working in IT the adobe reader has always been one of the more problematic software packages but version 9 is worse still and has caused years of headaches. I'm just pleased not many people need to edit pdfs and for the rest FoxIT Reader and PDFCreater will surfice.
I am currently needing to install it on quite a few PCs and having to go through this process every time is very time consuming. Is there a better way?
    Thanks
    Robin

  • VO with Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro

Can someone please give me a hint on how to get VO to focus on the document pane in Acrobat? I cannot get VO to read a PDF in Acrobat. It reads the Bookmarks/Pages pane just fine, but will not go to the documents pane. Even when I close the other panes I cannot get it to read the text on the page. Yes, I do know that Acrobat can read it, but I need VO to read it.
    Thank you for any help.

Have you tried reading your PDF with Preview? Adobe has been laggardly in providing VoiceOver accessibility for its applications! And Acrobat Reader is no exception… I can't even get out of the top bar of the window.
You could try moaning at Adobe; in fact, that's the only way they'll ever decide to change their policy.
