CS 5.5 Design Premium - Loads all but InDesign

I'm attempting to load CS5 Design Premium on my Mac which is running OSX Version10.6.8 and I can load all the programs except InDesign.
Here's the message I get:

I've tried all the things suggested in the troubleshooting section - starting in Safe Mode, renaming files (even got the Mac permissions sorted out), re-installing Flash, re-installing Air.
Can you help?
I don't understand why all the other programs would load, but not InDesign - it's the one I need most urgently (of course...)

e*proudfoot we don't have anything actionable in the error which you have currently posted. I would recommend running the Adobe Support Advisor to automatically review your installation logs and attempt to discover a solution.

CS4 Design Premium unable to Insall InDesign,Photoshop & Illustrator CS4

I have a Dell XPS 1330M with Vista (32 Bit) Ultimate SP1 with 4GB of RAM.
When I install disc 1 I get an error about halfway through that InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator had errors in the install process. I've made sure that my anti-virus (AVG) and firewall was off (they were), I had no other programs running. I've run the AdobeCleanUp app and tried the reinstall again, no luck, same error.
I haven't copied the DVD's yet to the hard drive and run them, I'll do tha here next, does anybody else have another suggestion? I really want to get to work using the new software and am frusrated that I can't.

I did take you advice and give Adobe a call, it didn't work at first but with the following I was able to get the software installed...
Here were my steps...
Uninstalled EVERYTHING Adobe
Used Windows Install Cleanup as well
Shutdown/Restart
Install = Fail
Uninstalled again
Called Adobe
Recomended I use the CS3 Cleanup (I had used the CS4 Cleanup prior)
Went to C:\Windows\system32 and deleted the Macromed folder
Adobe asked that I create a new user called "Adobe" and install on there
Shutdown/restart
Install to my username = Fail
During the Shut Down/Restart and Install Adobe gave me a case # and I'd call back if I had any issues.
I double checked to make sure I was installing as an Admin (I was)
Still no luck...
I shut down and restarted using the Adobe User I just created...
When I went to the Programs I noticed that not only was CS4 there (not all components) but that Adobe Reader 8.1.2 was there, which I had already uninstalled. I had another user account set up so I deleted both of them.
Reran CS3 Cleanup (totally different results just on that alone)
Shut Down/Restart
Installed = SUCCESS!!!!
It took me 12 hours to do it but at last I can use CS4 Design Premium!!!!

New Install of CS5.5 - installs all but InDesign

With apologies for the long text below - I've attempted twice to install CS5.5 on my computer and each time it will load completely, except for InDesign.
Here are the error codes and warnings - and I've submitted a package of information via the Support Advisor. I had this same problem with CS5 and was never able to resolve the problem despite repeated attempts at renaming files etc. Can you help?

Both documents seem to be indicating that you have issues with your permissions. If you have completed the steps in both documents and are still having difficulties you may want to try the installation in a root user account - Enabling and using the "root" user in Mac OS X - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1528.

Acrobat 9.0 Pro and Design Premium - Remote Load

I have a copy of Design Premium loaded through Indiana University's agreement with Adobe. It does not include the Acrobat 9.0 Pro promised in the Design Premium description. A large part of how I use the suite depends on me having Acrobat. Can I arrange for a download seeing as I have no box?

You'll need to talk to whomever supplied the software. CS5 does include Acrobat Pro, but only as a separate installer with its own serial number.

Design Premium creative suite crashing

i have recently bought design premium student edition
but after a few days of working fine all of my adobe software suddenly started crashing before it loads.
(just after clicking on the icon)
the error message is:
adobe photoshop CS4 has stopped working. windows is searching for a solution.
windows does not find a solution and then the program closes.
i have not changed any preferences
i have not yet activated and i am using the 30 day trial
the only thing i can think of is that i uploaded the fonts from the most recent computer arts magazine disc onto my computer, shortly after doing this all adobe programs crash. i have since deleted the fonts and all other downloaded fonts and it still crashes!
please help me out! i really really need this to work!

Acrobat Pro with design premium will not start

Yesterday I downloaded CS4 Design Premium. All of the programs work except for Acrobat Pro. It displays the following: An internal server error occurred.
I have tried all of the usual things like restarting. Removing preferences, no luck. Uninstalling and restarting then reinstalling, no luck.
What am I missing? I am using a MacBook Pro 2.33ghz intel core duo, 2g ram, with OSX 10.5.8.

Well I solved my own problem.
Delete this file.
You can find it on this path.
After I removed the file everything worked fine.
I am not sure where this file came from but I know removing it fixed the problem.

Is Media Encoder still part of Design Premium in CS5.5

I'm considering placing a pre-order to upgrade to CS5.5 Design Premium (from CS5) but it looks like Media Encoder might not be included this time. Can someone confirm whether or not it will be included as it was in CS5, and CS4 before that?
I realise I can switch from Design Premium to Web Premium but then I would lose InDesign:(

So I'm now wondering how to use the Adobe online store. Is it perhaps closed for the Easter break?
I elected to place a pre-order for Design Preium CS5.5 (upgrade from Design Premium CS5). I chose Add to cart and proceeded to checkout, only to find a screen which is largely blank but a little checkout panel at the upper right telling me that my cart is empty. No fields to enter credit card or shipping details at all.
I'm based in New Zealand, and I do understand the stores are regionally based. The price was quoted in Australian dollars and that's OK. but the system appears to be broken!
Last time, I bought my upgrade from a local retailer. Maybe I'll just have to wait and do that again, but if anyone can explain how to use the online store that would be great.

Read the license agreement . There will be a lot of impenetrable legalese gobbledygook in it, no doubt, but I bet it will be crystal clear on the subject of how many computers the software can be installed and activated on at once.

Cs5 design premium vs cs5 web premium

I have narrowed my selection between cs5 web premium and cs5 design premium. I need some help in determining which is best for web design AND design in general.
YES I KNOW 1 HAS WEB IN IT:).
The only difference which i can see is that web premium has contribute and flash builder. Are these critical in web design? Whilst cs5 design premium has indesign but not the other 2 mentioned above. I am not a hard coder so anything which is going to make my life simpler the better. I am not creating a flash based website but i will have elements of flash in it. I am leaning towards design premium as it seems indesign could help me quite a bit in terms of web layout, is this true? Also design premiium is valued more than web.
If anyone has some knowledge in the products could they share shed some light on which to get. Also i have no experience with these programs but i am going to take professional courses once i get some time out of my two degrees at uni.

Actually Bob, that article clears up NOTHING! You simply state that Design Premium is better without giving one lick of supporting evidence. You mention IF you don't need FlashBuilder 4.5 or Contribute, Design Premium is the clear choice! In a well-written article, an expert would state why a person likely doesn't need the two aformentioned softwares, what they do, and who they would benefit (hey, you're claiming to "clear up a few questions" here). You also did not even name what Design has that web doesn't (InDesign) and why a person needs that, what is so great about it, how this one software is better than FlashBuilder and Contribute, etc. Honestly, your article makes it look as if you really don't know anything about the two products that you are comparing. I found myself not being any closer to making a decision after reading your article because in my opinion, it really doesn't tell us anything other than what you like better. You don't even tell us why you like it better. The fact is that these two bundles are very similar. It basically comes down to whether or not a person thinks InDesign is worth more to them than Flashbuilder and Contribute. That's it! Break it down from there. I'm sorry for sounding harsh, it's not my intent. I am just giving harsh constructive criticism.

Indesign CS5.5 Keeps Crashing (OSX 10.7.2/Design Premium)

I just purchased a new MacPro, Its running 10.7.2. And I just installed my Design Premium. All ther suite programs launch fine, except InDesign. Ive only opened one file, and I just tried to launch it and it closes almost immediately. Here is the crash report,

when you were install your cs3 you should have been prompted for you serial number. were you?
if not, you probably didn't properly install cs3. copying/migrating/moving etc is problematic.
if yes, did you see any error messages during installation?
if yes, attach a screenshot of the error message.
if not, check you install logs, Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6, CC
