CS 5.5 media encoder missing dll

CS 5.5 media encoder says it cannot find "dvacore.dll", but it is where it should be.  C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder CS5.5.  Is it corrupted?

What other Creative Suite programs are installed? The set of supported codecs in AME is controlled by the application or suite that installed AME. The set of export formats you see is consistent with Flash and several other programs; Premiere, After Effects, and Encore makes the rest of the export formats available.
So if you have PPRO, AE, or Encore installed, then we'll need to troubleshoot why formats are missing.

  • Adobe Media Encoder missing

    Hi,
i've installed Adobe Media Encoder CC; now Captivate, when exporting, doesn't find the path to convert videos.
Is there a way to configure the new AME position?

    Hi Jerron
Thanks for getting back to me.
I suspected that may be the reason. I have downloaded the latest update but that didn't add any additional format.
    No matter.
    Thanks anyway..

  • Adobe Media Encoder Appcrash in MSVCR90.DLL upon exit

    Hello folks,
I didn’t see a forum for Adobe Media Encoder (hereafter referred to as AME), but since we are using AME hand-in-hand with Premiere, I thought I would post this here to see if anyone had any insight to why this is happening. Thank you in advance if you can help me figure this out; I truly appreciate any and all assistance!
I am the computer lab manager for the visual arts department at a community college. We teach video production courses in which we capture audio and video footage into Premiere CS5 and then export that footage to AME CS5. We do this on PC hardware (Dell Optiplex 755 and 780 units) running Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit.
The way that I configure the master image is to install all software (the Adobe Master Collection) under the administrator account, configure settings within the programs (an example, though it is not related to this, just to give you an idea as to what I do to configure the master image – since our PCs have 2 hard drives, I launch Photoshop and change the scratch disk setting to point to the second drive) and then copy the local admin profile over to the default user profile within Windows so that all students get the same settings configured the way we want it.
Now, before I copy the profile over, I test the system thoroughly to make sure that everything is working as it should. AME functions fine prior to the profile copy. However, once I copy the profile over, and I use Sysprep for this because it is the only Microsoft supported solution for profile copying in Windows 7 that I know of, everything functions perfectly except when you go to close AME, it throws this error:

I am assuming that Sysprep resets something when it copies the profile because I can log in as the Administrator during the testing phase and this does not happen. Once I sysprep and log in as Administrator again post-sysprep, this happens not only under Administrator, but under every other account that I log in as, both local and domain, and both with admin and non-admin privileges.
I ran the Adobe Updates to no avail. No matter what, this keeps happening.
This is a minor issue as everything does work, it is just that I am getting complaints from students and instructors that this is happening. Again, thank you in advance for your help. I appreciate it wholeheartedly.

In the past (I do not know if that still applies today) there were problems with the Microsoft Visual C++ libraries that could be solved by downloading and installing the relevant DLL's from the Microsoft website. Beware, there are numerous files and you have to take care to download and install the version for your OS. Adobe tried to alleviate that problem, but may not have solved all the issues. It is worth a try.

  • Media Encoder Will Not Launch - MSVCR110.dll

Since I'm not getting any help in the Premiere Forum, I'm re-posting this here....
After installing updates to both MS and Adobe CC this morning, I cannot get the Media encoder to launch. However After Effects launches just fine. Premiere crashes during the splash screen but the error is different.
Media encoder doesn't even make it to the splash screen.

Nevermind, I got it working last night by uninstalling the programs that Patch Tuesday broke. Premiere, Media Encoder, and I found out that Prelude wasn't working either.
All working now after an uninstall, reboot, and reinstall. The patches also reset my creative cloud folder from it's custom location to default.location, and I have to move it back to the other location. My SSD is smallish and I didn't want the data files there, just the OS and the program files.

  • MPEG-2 option missing from Adobe Media Encoder (ver7.2.0.43)

    Hi all,
Having an issue getting the MPEG-2 option for our Creative Cloud installation, specifically in Media Encoder's presets.
The following steps were recommended on another Adobe forum addressing this issue:
1.Uninstall Adobe Premiere Pro or the Creative Suite.
2.Run the cleanup script found here: http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html
3.Reinstall Adobe Premiere Pro or the Creative Suite.
    4.Launch Adobe Premiere Pro.
5.When prompted for activation during launch, ensure that the computer is online and complete activation.
If the computer cannot be brought online, complete the offline activation during the first launch of the software. Do not choose to activate later.
6.After Activation, close and restart Adobe Premiere Pro.
We have been able to run through steps1 to 4, however the Activation option in #5 does not appear at all (must be activation is included as part of our CC license).
Without the option to deactivate/activate Premiere how can we go about getting the MPEG-2 option to appear?
    Thanks again

    Hi Jim,
I'm having the same problem of the mpeg 2 codecs missing from adobe media encoder.  I have 2 computers and on both of them the mpeg 2 options for encoding have disappeared today.  Can you please help?

  • New Media Encoder Error: video and/or audio filters are missing...

My colleague reported this error popup window while using Adobe Media Encoder CC (up-to-date):
"video and/or audio filters are missing and the rendered output may not match the original"
I've been seeing similar errors the past few days. I can't remember if the wording was the same in the errors I saw, but the circumstances were the same.
I've never seen this popup error before the most recent CC update.
    Some background info:
I queued up multiple Premiere Pro pproj files as usual from within Premiere
without rebooting or deleting any cache or temp files or anything, I start the queue
I have no special plugins installed in Premiere. Vanilla CC install.
    Windows 7, 64-bit
This error doesn't tell me what audio/video filter(s) are missing. The output files, once I dismiss this warning, are perfect.
The major problem: It stops the queue dead in it's tracks. Sure, it might seem handy to stop and give you a warning, but when it's a false report and there's nothing wrong, it's killing us, because we queue up multiple files for encoding overnight, and we're not here to get the popups.
What is likely causing this? Is it a bug that this is appearing so frequently? Has anyone else experienced this besides my colleague and I?
    Thanks!

Update for anyone experiencing this issue:
We are still investigating the cause of the issue and would really like your help tracking it down. If you run in to it I would be happy to jump on the phone with you and preferably do a screenshare as well. If you want to run some tests for me, this is what may help us track it down:
    0. Please make sure you are updated to the latest version of Premiere Pro and AME, which at this time are Premiere Pro 7.2.1 and AME 7.2.
    1. Simplify the project. Create a copy of the project and eliminate anything in the project that isn't related to the sequence(s) you are exporting. Then run the encode again. If it still occurs, move to the next step. If it doesn't occur any more, repeat step one and only remove half of the unused items (sorry, this is giong to be a manual process). Rinse, repeat.
    2. Open your sequence in Premiere and press Cmd/Ctrl + A to select all clips in your sequence. Right click and select Remove All Effects. Export again. No repro? Go to step 4. If it still repros, go to step 4.
    3. Make all the media offline. Export again. No repro? Go to step 4. Repro? Go to step 5.
    4. Send me a message with as much detail as possible. Even better would be if you could provide me a copy of your project file.
Your help in tracking this issue down is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  • Adobe Media Encoder CS6 completely missing from Mastercollection CS6

    Computer Environment:
    MacBook Pro Early 2011
Graphics  AMD Radeon HD 6490M 256 MB
    Memory  16 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
SSD with 512GB; about 81GB are still free
    Mavericks  OS X 10.9.5
    Adobe Mastercollection CS6
    Quicktime Player (Standard)
    Problem:
I am currently missing the sidekick Adobe Media Encoder (AME), even though I succesfully can run After Effects and Premier Pro.
I cannot locate the AME app anywhere on my hard drive to launch it manually.
    Steps/general information:
I initially was able to run AME, after fixing another problem with launching it by deleting the ExportQuickTimeHost.bundle / QuicktTimeHost.bundle as I have described in another post (https://forums.adobe.com/message/7221143#7221143 – #26 is my post).
Unfortunately, the presets for Quicktime (I needed prores) were missing, even after I have done a workaround, by copying prores-codecs into AME plugins, as described in this post: martin-thoburn.com » Install the Apple ProRES codec without Final Cut or ProApps
The next time launching QuickTime, I was not able to open it again.
I uninstalled, reinstalled and updated After Effects and Premier Pro three times now and took away the QuickTimeHost.bundle from AME and Premiere Pro
I also tried resetting ACL (through Utilities, when starting the MacBook with option key pressed down) as suggested by Seth Goldin in the post https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1010136
I already tried wiping down the whole Adobe Suite, using the Cloud Cleaner Tool, delete the presets in the user library and then reinstall the apps: Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Acrobat, After Effects and Premiere Pro. There is now only the CS6 (and not for example some CC apps) on my Computer. All apps are up to date.
I didn't install any other codecs by accident.
Since AME was again not launching (Splash screen wasn't showing me any plugins, AME could have loaded). I simply deleted AME by trashing it.
Now it's completely gone, even after reinstalling (and launching) After Effects and Premier Pro.
By trying to install AME's updates (6.0.1 and 6.0.2) I naturally get an error message, since the main app is missing.
I have battled with AME about half a year now, so things like reinstalling Lion and then Mavericks has occurred before as well.
And unfortunately, I am in the middle of a big project, which is due in a month and two days. Hope the links are not too confusing
    – please look through them though, as the solutions I tried out are very clearly written in those posts.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Update in chronological order:
I uninstalled the Cloud, which I kept for making updates; I also uninstalled everything from Adobe (CS6 mastercollection)
I ran the Cloud cleaner tool
I reinstalled only Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Premier Pro, After Effects and Acrobat. Bridge and AME were installed as sidekicks of Photoshop and AE/PP.
So this has solved problem 1 already.
On to problem 2 (update only):
updated all adobe software, incl. DynamicLinkMediaServerRetail-1.0.1-mul-AdobeUpdate
I installed Final Cut Pro 7
    I (re)installed Quicktime 7.6.6*
I downloaded the Prores Presets for AME (as you suggested in post #2)
I tried opening AME – that did not work, as it hung on the ExporterQuicktimeHost.bundle
Went to AME app, right clicked on app icon to get "Show package content">Contents>Plug-Ins>Common and deleted ExporterQuickTimeHost.bundle and ImporterQuickTimeHost.bundle
repeated last step with Premiere Pro and AE
    I opened AE
I tried importing the presets through AME>import>presets... That did not work. I get this pop-up message:
    restarted my computer
tried again to import AME without luck
tried the solution of this discussion Re: Quicktime Export options are missing (only in AME) (post #8)
since I noticed that mine was changed back after the reinstallation. No luck.
restarted the computer again. No luck.
Put back only the ExporterQuicktimeHost.bundle into AME's package content
tried to open AME without luck
removed the Quicktimebundle once more to open AME (worked)
opened PP to check if I could export in queue: AME does not open by itself, still.
I tried opening a prores file (end as .mov) that I encoded at university (not on my provate computer) – did not worl
I checked if I could open a mov-file which was not encoded to prores: that worked.
I looked into Martin Thoburn's method again to try one more time in AME to find the settings "Quicktime". No luck.
I also have a third problem that may be linked to this, since it also has to do with PP and AE:
Re: Can anyone help? "DynamicLink" not available attempting to open Mov in Photoshop CS6
    My post there is #22.
But now that I absolutely made sure that I do have the prores codecs,
I strongly suspect that it may also be a problem, which is discussed here:
Are the ProRes codec and .MOV file no longer supported?
...namely, that the codecs are just not visible. Unfortunately, this discussion is not resolved either.
HarleyTDavis's post #30 of this discussion Are the ProRes codec and .MOV file no longer supported?
suggests something complicated (because I yet would need another Adobe version), which I may try at some point.
Alright. That is all the effort that I can afford in time for this. I am too exhausted to go on so I'll do a workaround in FCP
    – now that I got it – and will ask someone else to encode my outcome to a prores-Version.
If I feel like it – and yeah, I'd rather work with the Adobe Suite CS6 mostly – I'll come back to this discussion after a having clean wiped my computer and reinstalled everything.
Thanks to both of you for looking into this with me. I'm positive this can be solved – just not now.

  • Adobe Media Encoder CS4--Missing part of interface in Export Settings

    Hi,
I have a Windows 7 operating system on a 32-bit dell computer.  When I open Adobe Media Encoder
I click on the Add button.  Then I go to Edit->Export Settings.  I am missing some of the
options for instance: adding cue points, parameters, and filters.  I think it has a problem with Windows 7, but I'm
    not sure.
    There should be more options.
I put in my installation disk, but it does not allow you to just reinstall this program.
Does anyone know why this is happening.  It works on a computer running Windows XP.

I cannot guarantee that it is not a software issue. Sometimes Matrox is an easy "target." However, with several other Matrox users having similar issues, it does seem that Matrox might be the common element.
One of the issues with troubleshooting Matrox issues with PrPro is that few of the normal responders here have Matrox. Many tried the cards, and most unplugged them for various reasons. Some, like me, have never used them. That kind of limits the responses here, unless a Matrox-user, who has addressed such issues successfully, drops by with some tips.
Good luck, and please update the thread, especially if you do get a "fix." Others will benefit, and I will learn something new!

It may be hidden since it's a system folder. You can get to it one of two ways.
Either: Hit start button + r to get run, then insert  (C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder\4.0\) without the () and press enter. *This is assuming that your username is Administrator. If the folder exists it will take you there, even if it is hidden.
Other way: hit start button on keyboard and type in "folder options". Press enter when it shows up in the start menu search. Click on the View tab then select "Show hidden files, folders, or drives" and uncheck "Hide protected operating system files".  This should enable you to see both the AppData and Roaming folder. You may want to undo these selections otherwise you'll see files you usually don't want to see. (thumbnail caches...)
If neither of these methods work, let me know which folders you see in this directory "C:\Users", Administrator may not the account you're currently running on.

  • Adobe Media Encoder CS4 - missing formats

    Hi
I wonder if anyone can help me with this. I have the Adobe Media Encoder as part of Web Premium CS4. In the Format menu there are only two formats showing FLV and F4V. I have seen additional formats on other computers and don't know why they are missing from my copy.
Anyone any ideas or tips on how to install them. I am running Windows Vista.
    Thanks
    GeorgeB

    Hi Jerron
Thanks for getting back to me.
I suspected that may be the reason. I have downloaded the latest update but that didn't add any additional format.
    No matter.
    Thanks anyway..

  • MPEG-2 codecs missing from Adobe Media Encoder CS6 installed with Creative Cloud Membership

Some people who have downloaded Adobe Media Encoder with Premiere Pro CS6 as part of a Creative Cloud Membership subscription have a problem in which the MPEG2, MPEG2-DVD, MPEG2-Blu-ray, Dolby Digital, & MXF OP1a codecs are missing.
To fix this issue, install the Adobe Media Encoder CS6 (6.0.1) update. Choose Help > Updates to install the update.

It's true. We reached the conclusion that the version CS6 is inferior, a step back,  than 5 or 5.5. What's good about it, is the Audution CS6, which is a great replacement for the flawed Audition CS5 accompanying Suite 5.5. You can almost forget the Soundbooth ... Soundbooth ... hmmm, better not comment, but anyway, the most polite thing that i can say it, is that it is a demonstration of how a company decides that its users are not able to think and not able to learn or understants anything. Anything else that i want to say about Soundbooth can not be written here ....
Adobe has demonstrates this development cicle along all this years. The products takes an uphill curve of development, and suddenly, goes back, showing wrong decisions was taken. So after some time , the products starts to evolve again . CS6 shows this stop evolving point. Now we have to wait untill new uphill curve of development starts again.
Well, but like their predecessors AA CS6 still not are good enough to dispense Audition 3, but it is a good outcome for the Suite CS5.5 Audition at least was a sign of improvement in this Creative Suite CS6
Many of the features and effects that have been deliberately taken out of version 5, now returned in 6, (some) showing that at Adobe at least recognizes when misses badly. But the optimal effects panel of AA3 did not return, some effects of AA3 as fade in and fade out did not come back in AA 6, the optimum VST support of AA3 to not are present in AA6 like many VST we have here that was expensive, you do not work in 6, thus, by these and other reasons we can still not dispense AA3.
Maybe in CS7 we users cam be satisfied.

  • Missing presets for Adobe Media Encoder 6.0

Im missing my DVD preset's in Adobe Media Encoder 6.0.   I recently  downloaded the Production Suite from the cloud.   How do I get them?
If I open Media Encoder the preset is there but if I send it to Queue it changes the encoding to AAC audio only.  If I use the Export setting in the media encoder it works fine.

  • Media Encoder is Missing

    Hi,
Have an Adobe Creative Cloud subscription and had previously installed the 'Premiere Pro CS6 Family' from the Application Manager along with Encore, Speedgrade etc. and Media Encoder was installed as part of this.
Being honest...the applications scared me so I didn't think that I would use them so uninstalled Premiere etc. along with Media Encoder.  A couple of Adobe UK guys came into work the other day and gave an overview on Premiere so I wanted to give it another go.
Have installed it tonight along with Speedgrade and Encore and Media Encoder is not installed anywhere.  Have looked in all the usual places (Applications Folder etc.) and it definitely hasn't installed itself, doing a spotlight search doesn't yield any results either.
Just wondering if you can offer some suggestions on how to get it reinstalled?
Am running on Mac OS X 10.8.2.
    Thanks,
    John
