CS 5 and onOne PlugIn

I've got some problems with Windows 7 /64bit / Aero and  "Photoshop CS5" included PlugIn "Perfect Photo Suite 6" .
If I open 1 picture in PS 5, there is no problem, but if I want to prepare it with the PlugIn Perfect Photo Suite 6 I've got the message, that the colour scheme temporary
will change (Process-ID 3024). The PlugIn starts but I can't see the picture in preview. therefore I have to work a little bit of blind.
Does anybody have some ideas what the problem could be and have a solution?
I have installed the newest drivers and I use Nvidea GForce GTX 460
Thanks

Have you specifically checked the web site of the maker of your video card (i.e., nVidia.com) for display driver updates?  If they have a newer driver than the one you're running, I suggest downloading/installing it.  It may correct the problems you're seeing.  I ask because some folks confuse doing this with the Microsoft driver update process, and the latter usually delivers MUCH older drivers.
Also, have you tried the various OpenGL settings in Edit - Preferences - Performance?  Make sure you close and restart Photoshop after making any changes before testing.

  • Aperture 3, Photoshop CS5 and OnOne Plugin Suite 5.1 for Mac

    Hi yall,
I mostly use Aperture 3.1.3 to manage my photos.
I got a new iMac and installed this software and recovered my Aperture Library. All is fine.
But I also installed my Adobe Creative Suite 5 Master Collection for Mac, and y OnOne Plugin Suite 5.1 for Mac and ... it doesn't work.
Aperture doesn't find either Photoshop nor OnOne as external modules.
Can anyone tell me how to force Aperture to find those modules?
    Thank you

I've never used any of the Nik plugins, but I think it's bogus that it's a separate purchase for PS and A3. My Noise Ninja, for example, works with A3, PS or as a stand alone.
Agree 100%.  I have a long simmering discussion going on with Nik support about this (and the fact that the current workflow is destructive and, though it is reproducible, is not consistent from a UI POV).  I'm sorry that I didn't just start w. PS and Nik's PS Suite (which I still don't own).

For anyone who owns PS I would absolutely buy plugins for PS over A3.  You're breaking of the non-destructive workflow either way so you might as well have all the power and flexibility of photoshop along with your plugin.  I see no advantage to running plugins from Aperture.
Also agree 100% (and you point here is important and affects users).  I think (don't know PS well) the workflow once in PS is either non-destructive or close to it.  Certainly much more so -- and much easier to administer (=know what you did) -- than via Aperture-to-plug-in.

I would go a step further and say buy Photoshop before spending 100s of dollars on plugins.
That's gonna depend an awful lot on whether you can get your money's worth from PS.  The Nik tools are very sweet, and (imho, obviously) superbly tuned to manipulating digital photographs.
I would like to have Nik's "drawing board" (I just made that up, but basically their UI for interacting with the planar data, including their U-Points), PhotoShop's tool chest, and Aperture's organizing abilities.  For $200 US.

  • "This is not a valid Portable Document File" When launching Nik and OnOne plugins.

Starting today (after the latest Snow Leopard update) I'm getting an error every time I launch a plugin: "This is not a valid Portable Document File".
    Anyone else seeing this behavior?

    Hi Reggie,
I only have my 10.5.8 sysytem available at the moment, but will check this tomorrow on my 10.6.4 w/SL Graphics Update. With what plug-ins and versions are you seeing this happen? I know current OnOne plug-ins use the GPU for displaying it's dialog. Have you checked Nik/OnOne forums for similar problems yet?

  • How do I get my NIK and ONONE plugins to work in PSCC2014?

How do I get my plugins to work? They aren't listed under filters or automate

Install them in CC 2014, and make sure you have checked with the plugin makers for updates.

  • Where did my Nik, Topaz and onOne plugins go?

I just upgraded to CS6 from CS5 on a iMac running OSX 10.7.4. When I opened the CS6 application, none of my Nik, Topaz or onOne plug-ins showed up in the usual places (automate, filters, plug-in, etc.). How do I access them in CS6? I have not yet uninstalled CS5, if that is part of the issue.
    Thanks

How do I access them in CS6?
You install the correct CS6 versions from the original vendors. Seriously. Do not even try to move/ copy over the CS5 versions, it's bound to cause mayhem. Adobe apps never auto-migrate stuff or even prefs for that exact reason.

  • Photoshop cs5 and OnOne 4.5 plugin (thumbs down)

Photoshop needs to get after ONONE plugin ($299) because I and I'm sure many others are not upgrading to the new great features of CS5 because a main feature in our workflow doen not function. It seems ONONE is NOT making their 4.5 plugin available to work with the new verison of photoshop. You need to upgrade to OnONE 5.1, and pay another $200 to use the plugin suite if you want to continue to use CS5. If anyone has upgraded to cs5 and is able to use onone 4.5.1 please let me know. Bottom line is I'm not going to pay almost $500 for an upgrade, and ADOBE is going to lose out.

Just to be clear, do you have the OnOne software installed in CS4?
Figuring out which files are involved and copying them to the appropriate locations in CS5 isn't an impossible task.  I'd be willing to bet that most if not all of the actual plugins will work with CS5.  Hint:  I develop plugins, and I've looked at the SDK differences.
I've already ported my installation of OnOne Genuine Fractals 6.0.4 from CS4 into CS5 by this method, and the plugin works as well as ever.

  • When I click Tools and then plugins and check whether my plugins are up to date or not, Firefox gives me a notice saying my Flash Player is an outdated version and must be replaced.

I am trying to do something that requires Flash Player, but even though it shows in my control panel, and it is the latest version, I keep seeing a notice that it is disabled, and it does not appear in the list of plugins, so I don't know how to enable it.
I have been installing the same version over and over again since yesterday, but when I go to check the plugin, a box appears saying it is disabled. When I go in Tools to the list oif plugins, it is not there! Very frustrating. edit

In Add-ons > Plugins, you must enable "Shockwave Flash (version)"; that is Adobe Flash. Click the "Enable" button next to it. The most current version is 10.3.183.10, which was released just a few days ago.
    '''''"Installed Plug-ins''''' <br />

Did you disable all of your plugins? Why?
You need to re-enable your plug-ins in Add-ons > Plugins, then check them to see if they are current and update as necessary.

There are 2 versions of Adobe Flash; an '''ActiveX version''' for IE only and a '''Plugin version''' for most other browsers including Firefox. On a Windows system, you should always update both individually.
#'''Using Firefox''', go to the following direct download link and SAVE the download to your desktop so you can find it later: http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe
#When the download is finished, close Firefox (File > Exit '''''OR''''' Firefox button > Exit)
#Click or double-click on the file you just saved to your desktop
#*In the installation window that appears, click the box to the left of "I have read and...." to place a check mark in the box
#*The "Install" button in the lower right corner will now be highlighted, click it.
    #*The installation is quick.

You have multiple old Java Console '''''extensions''''' that Java did not clean-up during updates. On my MacBook Air Im receiving a error with internet plug-in message and blocked plugin which will not allow video clips to play i.e. YouTube. How do I correct this?

When you have installed the latest version of Flash, relaunch Safari and test.
If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, then in System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
click Check Now. Quit and relaunch your browser, but check this also:

  • After update Gedit and Epiphany plugins not working anymore

Gedit and Epiphany plugins stopped working after recent update. They are listed in plugin dialog, but can't be enabled. Does anybody know how to solve this problem?

I was able to successfully enable the plugins by re-compiling gedit using the ABS system.
However, I do think this is a bug, and that we should report it.  I'm unfamiliar with that
process as well.  If anyone can post a quick suggestion as to the best place to file a bug report,
    I would appreciate it :-)
In the meantime, here's what I did.  This was my first time using the ABS system, so
I went to http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/ABS All the below instructions are on the wiki,
these instructions are specific to gedit:
    I installed abs using pacman.
    # pacman -Sy abs
I edited /etc/abs.conf, and put a ! in front of the testing REPOS:
    REPOS=(core extra community !testing)
    As root, I ran
    # abs
A bunch of stuff was downloaded to my /var/abs folder.
I make a directory in my home folder for gedit's stuff:
    $ mkdir -p /home/yourusername/abs
I copied gedit's stuff from /var/abs to my abs folder:
    $ cp -r /var/abs/extra/gedit/ ~/abs
      $ cd ~/abs/gedit
    I ran makepkg -s
    $ makepkg -s
A bunch of stuff downloaded and compiled.  When it was done, there was a new gedit-2.24.3-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz file in the same directory.
I told pacman to install the tar.gz file.  Note that I did not have to uninstall gedit.
    As root:
    # pacman -U gedit-2.24.3-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz
And that was it!  I could then go into gedit and enable/disable whatever plugins I wanted.
    Hope this helps,

    Hi,
I wanted to check out the Hangouts feature at Google+, but I need the Google Voice and Video plugin for that. I tried unpacking the deb package supplied by Google and installing it manually, but the plugin does not work and Firefox just keeps crashing. Could anyone actually get it to work with Arch yet?

    2) When I open another photo and run Chameleon , Make Collage, I get

I used to run Chameleon in CS4 however now it does not run at all. I'm wondering if a Visual C file got corrupted or a fix is needed for Adobe.
    Please help.

Without knowing exactly what the bug is in the Akvis code, I don't know.
But some third party plugins always need an update when new versions of Photoshop are released (especially those that try to modify Photoshop's UI).
We work hard to maintain plugin API compatibility, and most plugins work just fine in new versions, but there are always some problems to work out in third party plugin code.
(Macintosh plugins are going through a lot of problems in CS5 because we had to change the UI toolkit used, and many assumptions made by plugin UI code no longer hold)

  • Control Surfaces and Native Plugins

I have a Novation RemoteZero SL and, though I can access basic volume and pan, and I can control plugins from other companies where Novation has set up "AutoMap", I can't control Logic's own plugins! It won't learn them or control them in any way. This is a known issue for Novation, but what of other controllers?
Are there any controllers that easily control Logic's effects like the eq banks, compressors, etc? This seems bonehead basic, but I can't find any info on this topic here or in other discussions.
    Thanks.

The Mackie Control support lets you edit all parameters of instuments and effects plugins. If you don't have a Mackie Control, you can also use John Pitcairn's LCXmu, which acts as a virtual Logic Control translator between your controller and Logic.
I have a Korg microKontrol running with LCXmu, and it's excellent, way better than Logic'a native mK support, and you can access all instrument & plugin parameters, with the names coming up on the mK screens etc.
Have a look at LCXmu at OpusLocus and see whether your hardware is a directly supported device. Even if it isn't, you can still use it, you just have to set up some manual mapping stuff, depending on what buttons etc you have on your controller.
Otherwise, you are back to manually assigning parameters using Logic's controller assignments - but they are buggy.
I have to say that LCXmu has completely solved all controller issues I had using the micoKontrol as a little portable controller. It's ace.
