CS 5 not holding print settings

Weird issue... When customizing my print settings for a print job none of my settings hold when I go back into print. Anyone else having this issue? It's very frustrating when have to print 6 jobs right away and I have to manually set the parameters again. I have a few other machines that are holding the settings but not mine. Thanks!

Keep in mind print settings are stored in the PSD document, so you may be thinking it's not remembering your print settings, when in fact it's rememebering them a different way...  In other words, if you print document 1 to printer A then save as a PSD, then print document 2 to printer B then save as PSD, then re-open document 1, the default printer for document 1 will still be A.
Another known problem with some printer drivers is that you have to set the parameters twice in order to get them to stick.  This could affect, for example, then number of copies to print.  A workaround is to make your changes, then go through the [Print Settings...] button twice (first time to make changes, second time to check the changes).
Hope this helps!

  • User Print templates will not hold Print Settings Presets

User print templates set up for different papers will not remember/hold Print Settings Presets

    Jeff,
You are correct it does work, I added a step not needed - I created a Preset on the Print Setting page, I should have left that as Default, it works that way.  How pleasant to get a response from you, I just watched Camera to Print & Screen #39 Print from Lightroom this morning where I learned about Print templates.  Thanks so much.

  • INDCS3 Print Presets do not hold Printer Preference Settings

We are running WinXP, INDCS3 suite. We noticed that when creating and saving a Print Preset and reloading it to another PC, the Printer preference settings (in particular) paper size and tray do not hold. We created several for staff and when they LOAD them, the printer/preferences from specific printers do not hold. We did not have this problem in CS2.
Is this simply the fact that the Print screen setting hold, but preferences (setup) for a specific printer do not?
Can anyone share any info on this?

I'm having a similar problem where I cannot set my printer to collate and the checkbox is grayed out in General tab.. and I know my printers are able to collate.. For some odd reason Indesign doesnt exactly read or detect the printer settings..

  • Printing From PSE12 - settings not holding/prints are inconsistent.

Printing from PSE12, MacOS with PSE12 controlling color/appling profile.
Color management does not appear to turn off or disengage within any given print driver.
When selecting Color Matching, both ColorSync & given printer are active, both should be ghosted out.
After printing one image/sheet & printing again & selecting Color Matching within the print window both are ghosted out.
Saving a pre-set does not solve the issue.
Currently prints are not matching when having PSE12 controlling color.
what is causing this issue ?  Is it PSE12 ?  Is it the OS ?  WHAT !
    Please help.  THANKS

This inability to disable color management is within the OS, right ?  Or is it PhotoShop Elements ?
Yes I do have means of controlling color management from a driver stand point but the attempt here is to turn color management off from the OS & driver to allow the app to control color management.
Problem is that when printing and setting/selecting settings to allow this, it appears management is getting miss managed.
And if I set a pre-set within PSE, settings do not hold.
I do not want ColorSync to control color management.
I do not want print driver to control color management.
And settings to not hold from print to print and a pre-set does not appear to hold as well.
What is the fix for this ? Do not use PSE ?  Do not use MacOS, This does not happen on a WIN based system ?!?

  • InfoView not defaulting print settings from Crystal Reports XI

I have a form/report created from Crystal Reports XI published to InfoView that has the print settings set for the manual tray when printed. When running the report in InfoView, it does not default to the manual tray when printing. I am publishing directly from Crystal Reports. I have the Process/Print Setup 'Set layout to: Report file default' and the Schedule/Format 'Use options saved with report' checkbox checked. I am not finding any other settings to tell InfoView to use the report page layout/printer settings. Anyone know of any other options I should check? Thanks!

That would be the correct forum as this one is for SDK issues only.
If you are not getting helped on the other BO forum you may want to consider creating a case if you have a valid support contract.

  • Reader X 10.1.2 does not follow printer settings for printing multiple copies

    Hi,
I recently installed ReaderX 10.1.2 and find that when I set multiple copies (e.g. 3 copies) in the printer settings, it was not reflected in the print dialog of Adobe ReaderX 10.1.2. There is no issue on previous version of Adobe Reader i.e. 8 & 9. I tested with several vendor drivers still also the same issue.
Is this a bug in Reader 10.1.2 or Printer driver issue? Are there any workaround?
    Thanks alot

Can you please see if launching the Preferences window from within Adobe Reader standalone application works?

  • CS5 will not remember print settings

Have upgraded from cs3 and cannot get cs5 to remember my print settings. In cs3 when I open a file to print it, the print driver automatically uses all the settings specified the last time I printed and saved the file. In cs5 the driver uses the settings specified for the last file printed. Anyone know how I can fix this?

Gaarhhhh, of course it would be something so stupid and simple...something I'd never think of.
Yeah, by docking I meant maximizing, I've been doing too much programming lately...
And yeah, moving it to the other monitor and closing it without maximizing it worked, and what's more when I opened it the second time, I maximized it, then closed it, then opened it again and it opened, maximized, in the correct monitor.
Still, seems like it could be a bug to me, CS3 always used to remember what monitor I opened the program in, whether I closed it maximized or not.
Also, for completion's sake, I have an nVidia GeForce 8800 GTS with the most recent drivers (just installed them about 2 days ago.)
Now I need to figure out how to turn off that stupid pixelation when I zoom in really far on an image...that's annoying.

  • IMac not remembering printer settings

I have created a default profile for my printer and the iMac is not remembering it unless I select the 'Printer' button.
How can I get the iMac to remember the settings in the default profile with out the need to click on settings.

    Hi,
Try changing the default print settings using the CUPS web interface:
Go to http://127.0.0.1:631/printers and click your printer name.
Click the Administration drop-down menu and select "Set Default Options".
Select the Duplex option and select the binding type you would like to use.
Click the "Set Default Options" button when you are done and provide your administrator user details when prompted.
Make sure to reboot the Mac and try printing from your browser again..
    Best of luck

  • Audigy not holding audio settings in control pa

    Hi all
I have an oem SB audigy but was unable to read my sb install disk when it came to reinstall of XP. I managed to get some drivers from creative and install them. The problem I have is with the lack windows sounds and no midi. The settings within control panel for Audio Midi & voice play back are both blank. The options are there but they will not hold the changes when you exit the sound properties. Generally all sound works but not the things like the War of the worlds video on apples website and of course midi. Also most games work for instance GTA SA but not HItmans sound effects.
I hope this makes sense if anyone can any one help me with this problem I would be very appreciati've.
    Cheers

  • Finder-Not holding view settings in the Application Folder

    Hi all
I wonder if any of you can help me.
I cannot get finder to hold my view settings in the Applications folder. I have tried all the view options and whenever I relaunch Finder or reboot the machine, it loses the view settings and goes back to 'arrange' and 'sort'  by 'none' I have tried creating another user account and it does the same thing so it is
not user specific. I have tried deleting the .ds.store file in the Applications folder and this does not work. As a matter of interest, this has been an ongoing problem that I have noticed when setting up new Macbook Pros over the last two years or so.
All other folders hold their settings. Its just the Applications folder.
    Any ideas folks?

I've had this issue in many folders. Very frustrating!

  • LR 1.4.1 not saving print settings on Mac OS 10.5.2

1.4.1 won't save (or use) any print settings other than "Standard". In the print module if I select print settings, choose a printer and it's settings (like paper type and color management) then close the dialog the settings aren't saved or even used. It will only print with the "Standard" setting.
Tried on 2 systems and with new database.
    - Joe

As far as I know, it's always behaved like this. The solution is to get the print settings the way you want, save it under Standard, and then save the setting as a Lightroom preset. The print settings will stick with the preset.

  • Lr4 print template not saving 'Print Settings'

First of all ... I'm coming from Lr3 running in Windows XP to Lr4 on a Mac, and I'm still getting used to the way Mac OS does things, so bear with me ...
Since using Lr4 on my Mac, today is the first time coming back to a particular art paper.  If I remember correctly, with Lr3 (Windows) the print settings "Page Setup" and "Print Settings" were combined into a single dialog of parameters.  In any case, a defined Lr3 print template remembered everything (e.g., paper size, paper type, print quality, etc).  However, I am finding Lr4 (Mac) only remembers the 'Page Setup' settings and that I will always need check and usually modify the 'Print Settings'.  Is this a functional difference between Windows and Mac OS, or am I missing something?  Or, did something go awry when I upgraded to Lr 4.1 RC??

  • Open Directory not Pushing Printer Settings

When i setup a printer on my 10.6.8 server and apply it to a group the printer gets added to the client fine but any settings on the printer (aka RAM or Duplex) does not get pushed to the 10.6.8 clients.
This is currently happening with my HP Color Laserjet 9500 with the new drivers that were released today (18.4), but has been a problem for a month or so now.
The server is on driver version 18.1 im not sure that that is what is causing the problem? But this was working in the past so im not sure what has caused this problem...

Many Open Directory problems can be resolved by taking the following steps. Test after each one, and back up all data before making any changes.
    1. The OD master must have a static IP address on the local network, not a dynamic address.
    2. You must have a working DNS service, and the server's hostname must match its fully-qualified domain name. To confirm, select the server by name in the sidebar of the Server application window, then select the Overview tab. Click the Edit button on the Host Name line. On the Accessing your Server sheet, Domain Name should be selected. Change the Host Name, if necessary. The server must have at least a three-level name (e.g. "server.yourdomain.com"), and the name must not be in the ".local" top-level domain, which is reserved for Bonjour.
    3. The primary DNS server used by the server must be 127.0.0.1 (that is, itself) unless you're using another server for internal DNS. The only DNS server set on the clients should be the internal one, which they should get from DHCP if applicable.
    4. Follow these instructions to rebuild the Kerberos configuration on the master.
    5. If you use authenticated binding, check the validity of the master's certificate. The common name must match the hostname and domain name. Deselecting and then reselecting the certificate in Server.app has been reported to have an effect in some cases.
    6. Unbind and then rebind the clients in the Users & Groups preference pane. Use the fully-qualified domain name of the master.
    7. Reboot the master and the clients.
    8. Don't log in to the server with a network user's account.
    9. As a last resort, export all OD users. In the Open Directory pane of Server, delete the OD server. Then recreate it and import the users. Ensure that the UID's are in the 1001+ range.

  • Photoshop CS6 - 64bit Edition wont hold print settings but 32bit version will.

Hello all, I really hope somebody can help me with this issue.
I work in an educational establishment and we have both 32 and 64bit versions of Photoshop CS6 (Predominately 64x) and for some reason when you go to print and change paper size, scaling e.t.c when you hit 'Ok' it reverts back to the default which is "Paper Size - Letter" e.t.c. Meaning I have to transfer it into another program - like save it as a PDF and print it through that in order to print on larger paper sizes and scaling options. Strangely the 32x edition doesn't have this problem.
I've been through settings, attempted reinstall. Even going through the settings of the 32x and making sure everything is identical to the 64x set up.
Please tell me I'm missing something simple here because this has become a real melon scratcher for me.
    Any Help is Appreciated.
    Chris J
    (Finchy911)

    Apologies.
    System info:
    Windows 7 Enterprise 64Bit Edition - Intel I7 (3.40Ghz) - 16Gb RAM - Nvidea Gforce GTX 660
Windows 8 Enterprise 64Bit Edition - (Specs same as above)
    Printers used/problem observed on:
HP Designjet t7100 using driver as follows
    Driver Name: PrintQueue.inf
    Class Guid: {1ED2BBF9-11F0-4084-B21F-AD83A8E6DCDC}
    Driver Date: 06/21/2006
    Driver Version: 6.3.9600.16384
This would be the printer we most observe the problem on as its a large format printer and Photoshop wont allow us to print in anything above 'Letter'.
The Printer is a networked printer that is hosted on our Windows 2008 Server R2 and shared to the rest of the PCs in our organization through that server.
As previously mentioned the 32bit edition of Photoshop doesn't appear to have any issues printing with custom settings but the 64bit edition ALWAYS reverts back to default Paper size and scaling.
Once again apologies for the lack of information.

  • G3 Not holding PRAM settings - Battery replaced

This is a follow on from yesterday. Grant Bennet got me up and running again but my G3 doesn't seem to be holding the PRAM settings. I'm running OSX 10.3.9 on a G3 with 512 ram. Yesterday my monitor was saying out of range and the G3 wouldn't boot up. Grant explained how to reset the PRAM and this worked much to my releif. I've replaced the internal battery and checked the monitor frequency in system preferences but when I shut the G3 down and restart I'm back where I started with the monitor saying out of range and the only way to restart is by Command-Option P & R. I understand info about the monitor settings is stored in PRAM under OSX but how do I access PRAM to tell the G3 what monitor frequency I'm using or should system preferences have done this?. Any advice most welcome. Mark

Hello Grant, I'm at a loss with this one. I have reset the osx display prefs to my usual settings 1280 x 960 at 60.0 Herts, restarted the G3 and I'm getting the same message from the monitor everytime. The message tells me the usable range is HF30khz - 70khz / VF50hz - 140hz then it tells me the current frequency is HF24.5khz VF60hz I guess this explains why I'm having the problem but I don't understand what is telling the monitor to run at this frequency at start up. My monitor is a Formac ProNitron 17/550 with full auto sync and has never given a moments trouble. I've tried everything I can think of, everything was fine until I installed the lastest itunes. Your spot in respect to my preferences being activated as soon as OSX starts, evertything is back to normal and all my personal settings saved. Do you think a complete reistalltion of OSX would help? wipe the drive and start from scratch or do you think I'd have the same problems with the PRAM settings even after doing this. I have all my data backed up now so it wouldn't be the end of the world, although painfull to reinstall all my 3rd party software. Any further thoughts most welcome. Regards - Mark
