CS 6 2-Up Landscape Layout Help Wanted

I want to recreate some Sanskrit books in the traditional "pothi" format.  Before the introduction of paper many centuries ago these would have been written on palm leaves so the page has developed to be long in width and relatively short in width.  So what I did is to set my pages to be landscape mode and 11" width by 4.25" height.  That way I can get 2 pages on one side of US letter size paper and as I have a duplex printer, 4 pages per sheet altogether.  Here is an illustration.  The arrow represents the direction of the text.
   Side 1                                             Side2
+--------------------------------------------+     +---------------------------------------------+
|  4                                    V    |     |  3                                   /\     |
|                                            |     |                                             |
+--------------------------------------------+     +---------------------------------------------+
|  1                                         |     |  2                                   /\     |
|                                       V    |     |                                             |
+--------------------------------------------+     +---------------------------------------------+
This seems like it should be easy enough to do but owing no doubt to my extreme newbieness in the use of InDesign I have not figured it out.  Can anyone help please?

It is simple, but not necessarily intuitive.
You start with a 1-up 11 x 4.25 document, save that then place the pages twice into a new 11 x 8.5 doc. The simplest way I know to d the last part is to use Scott Zanelli's multipage placer script (InDesignSecrets » Blog Archive » Zanelli Releases MultiPageImporter for Importing both PDF and INDD Files) and run it twice, changing the position, in this case from top on the first run to bottom on the second.

Regarding the "Creating a purchase order form that has a flowable layout" Help Tutorial,  I can't seem to get the data to pull in for just the PO in question, is there a secret?
Ideally, it should create one form for each PO with the detail lines for each PO on the individual forms.  Can we do this?
    Many thanks!

    Hi
If the smartform purchase order is not available in your system
means you can download the form IDES and you can upload the form in ur ecc 6.0 system.we faced a similar kind of problem in our system and we did as i said.
Once you uploaded the things you can easily view the form interface and rest of the things related to smartforms.

  • Change the width and height of Landscape Layout for a report in 10G

    Hi,
I'm new to reports and when i built the report in report builder 10g, the layout orientation was 'Landscape', hence I assumed that it'll be a landscape layout.
However, the width and height fields of the main section are 11 and 20 respectively. However, the height should ideally be 8.5. When i try to change it I get the following error message :
Layout canvas must remain large enough to fit layout objects.
Could you please tell me how to change the height of this landscape layout to 8.5 from 20.
The report has several main frames within a repeating frame, since the same report has to run multiple times.
Is it possible to have a repeating page across pages (crossing the horizontal margin) and hence have some of the main frames move down to the next page. I'm trying to do this to then be able to reduce the height of the main section of the report to 8.5. Its not working though because I'm getting the following error :
REP 1814 : Report cannot be formatted. Object "vertically" can never fit R_Main (the name of the repeating frame enclosing all objects)
    Thanks,
    Priyanka

To reduce the Hieght, first make the layout design fit into the new value..

  • Newbie Layout Help Needed

I am normally an After Effects and Premiere Pro user but have been forced to volunteer for help on a Dreamweaver project.
The site is built on the template: HTML, 1 column fixed, centered, header and footer.  I want to be able to insert a photo the width of the main column, 960 px I think.  Then, under that photo, I want to insert 4 photos with different widths, between 150 and 200 pixels wide.  I will need to update this from time to time and the quantity and sizes of the photos will be different each time.  If "Draw AP Div" worked like I expected it to, it would be simple: draw boxes and insert images.  However, as you know, it's not going to be that easy.  I have read the formatting101 page and searched the forum but I guess I don't know enough to know what to search for.
Is there a way to place images in the way I want to?  Do I need a plug-in?   I need to where to start.

You don't need APDivs for this.  If you want the secondary images to be evenly spaced on the page, use CSS floats & margins.
    http://alt-web.com/DEMOS/3-CSS-boxes.shtml
If you don't need them evenly spaced, simply insert optimized images into your layout.  Be sure to resize images beforehand in your graphics editor so that their combined widths will fit inside the layout.

  • Report Layout Help

    Version 2.0
I have a report that I'm having difficulities in getting a layout for. This report is a sales analysis that can be fiscal or calendar year. The look I'm after is:
    Account  Nov-05    Dec-05    Jan-06    Feb-06    Mar-06    Apr-06    May-06    Jun-06    Jul-06    Aug-06    2006 Total    2005 Total    Difference    Percent Inc/Dec
    Acct1    $9999.99  $9999.99  $9999.99  $9999.99  $9999.99  $9999.99  $9999.99  $9999.99  $9999.99  $9999.99  $99999.99     $99999.99     $9999.99      99.9Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Joe

    John,
    1. Well, he is an extreme "joy" to work with. I'll admit that. Been in the managers office a few times.
    2. In the mark up that I provided above, August was the month that was selected from the "Select Month" drop down list. Since the "Calendar" checkbox was not selected, that meant that they wanted the beginning of the current fiscal year, Nov-05, to the selected month, in that example, Aug-06.
I am taking care of the beginning and ending dates through date math. If you like I can provide that code too.
    I hope that was clear.
    Thanks,
    Joe

  • Simple css layout help

Hey I know this is a piece of cake for you guys so help me
out. I've got a simple layout going and set up at
    http://www.clark-imaging.com/ciiicomp/index.html
and need your help. What is causing the weird white bands behind
header and maincontent and footer and maincontent? There are no
margin values assigned to the top and bottom of the header and
footer, and a value of 0 won't make them go away. Also, how can I
fix the footer div to the bottom of the window, so the main content
    area stretches with the window?
    Here's an
image of the look I'm going for.
    Your responses are greatly appreciated.

  • Layer or div tag positioning help wanted

Okay, actually I have two problems: 1) I have managed to
create a navigation bar, but I can't find out how to save it other
than saving the html page it was created on. The help literature
seems to vaguely indicate that a nav bar created can be saved and
used on other pages, but I'll be damned if I can find where there
are any details of this process.
*BTW, my navbar has multiple elements or buttons, so I can't
just copy paste, ctrl/shift doesn't seem to work selecting multiple
elements, tho it works on regular images*
    2) Once I solve problem #1, I am goin to want to have the
navigation bar "stay put" in it's position on the screen, immune to
any scrolling that occurs on the page(s). So, I plan on putting
into a layer or div that can be given this behavior or property.
Unfortunately, I can't find or figure out how to do that, either.
Is this a good plan? Is there a better way to make the Nav bar
    exempt from page scrolling?

No offense, but I think your approach may be a bit off base
    here (of
course I have not seen a link to a a page showing what you
    are trying to
achieve, so I could be completely wrong). The first part of
    your
question already makes me nervous, because it makes me think
    you have
used Fireworks or another image program to create your
    navbars.
Depending on which version of Fireworks you are using, that
    could be
disastrous or only unwieldly. The navigation bars created by
    Fireworks
are definitely not the best solution, and you can go through
    years of
posts, particularly by Murray, advising against their use.
If you are interested in an easier way to create your
    navigation, post back.
Second, wanting your navigation to stay put while the rest of
    the page
scrolls is something I see here a lot, but it's not
    necessarily how the
web works. People plunge into frame hell in order to
    accomplish it,
but it is like trying to kill a mosquito with a jackhammer.
There is a good extension that will do this for you if you
    insist, but
given the problems you are having now, I would first create a
    properly
coded page that behaves as a normal web page should, and ONLY
    THEN
    worry about server-side includes
revisit the issue of fixed and scrolling page elements.
An excellent tutorial for creating a cross-browser friendly,
    modern
(e.g.not relying on tables for layout) page can be found at
www.projectseven.com (search for "quickdraw" without the
    quotation
marks), where you can also find an excellent tutorial for
    creating
horizontal or vertical navigation menus that are simple and
    can be used
in templates or server-side includes (search for "uberlink"
    without the
    quotation marks).
    Good luck.

  • CSS design - help wanted

    Dear group,
I want to redesign my site and want a design that looks like
    this:
    http://www.gwsystems.com/inge/Images/design.gif
I made a screenshot of it to show you, that this design was
    made using
tables in tables with different backgrounds. This makes the
    markup
almost unreadable and I wonder, if I could do this design
    without
tables but using CSS. So I made single pics from the
    screenshot. 1 for
each corner, 1 for the top and bottom middle, 1 for the left
    and right
middle to use as a background. Unfortunately I'm not good
    enough to
find out by myself how to put this into CSS.
The content of the site should be within the 'silver frame'
    as shown
    in this screenshot
    http://www.gwsystems.com/inge/Images/design1.gif
The navigation shouldn't be horizontal as shown in this
    screenshot,
but a vertical navigation as shown at

Could you please give me a hint, where to find a solution to
