CS 6 Workspace not saving color book.

When I add color books to my color space, it never saves it, I always have to go back everytime I open illustrator to the Window>Color Books> XXX and add it to my workspace again, anybody have a solution, it didn't do this on my CS 5.5 but now CS 6 won't let it stay.
Thanks for any help.

From the swatches panel flyout menu select the option "Persistent". This will keep your selected color books with your current working space.

  • CS5 Workspace Not Saving

    Hello, I've searched for this discussion but found no answers. In CS5 when open AI my workspace is all jumbled int the top right corner instead of recalling my preset workspace. I've always used saved work spaces and never had an issue (other than the PMS swatch book not appearing on restart). I've never see this issue with past versions. Can anyone shine some light on this? I thought maybe I wasn't correctly docking the palletes but I believe they are all docked together and all 1 solid unit. I have PMS, Appearance, Separations, Color, Stroke/Gradient/Transparency, Layers all docked to each other on the right. Tools are then docked to the left of those. I have Document, Magic Wand, Pathfinder all on the left top corner and they appear fine. Attached is a screen shot. Am I doing something wrong?

    Were yo able to get this worked out?  I am having a similar problem with CS5.  Used PSE9 previously and I am going crazy trying to get the workspace set up.  I chose photography but it is just a shell and I can't even find the 'exposure' sliders, ugh......Any help much appreciated!

  • Workspaces not saving

    Help, I have the same problem in Illustrator CS4, inDesign CS4 and Photoshop CS4. Despite setting up my worspce and saving it, when I quit/relaunch, the workspace has reverted to default and my saved workspace is nowhere to be found! The folder in library/prefs is empty. I have CS4 installed on a seperate HD (ie. not the boot disk), could this be the problem?
    Thanks,
    Dave

    Fixed a very similar issue by deleting manually the custom workspace from my "workspaces" preferences folder,  but leaving in "workspaces (modified). See if this works for you

  • ACR not saving color profiles when saving out to TIF...

    The Players:
    ACR 4.6, PS CS3, Mac OS X, MacBook, Nikon D200
    The Problem:
    ACR does not seem to be saving my color profiles when I work on my Nikon D200 NEF files. After saving them out as TIFs and opening them in Photoshop CS3 - files read as "Untagged RGB" and the colors are definitely way off from what they were saved as in ACR. Frustrating!

    Thank you for any help - trying to get a job done!

    Paul,
    You need to update your Photoshop to version 10.0.1 ASAP. You're also two versions behind in the OS; 10.5.6 is out.
    If you do not know how to trash Photoshop's preferences, check out the FAQs in the Adobe Photoshop Macintosh forum:
    http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.3c057d1b
    To trash Bridge prefs, hold down the Option key as you relaunch Bridge, then check the boxes in the ensuing dialog box.

  • "Book Setup" settings not saving with book.

    I have a book of reports, I would like them to collate based on "Member Selection" and not "Reports". However, when I make this selection in "Book Setup" and then save the report, this change does not save. Any help?

    If anybody reads this with the same problem, pretty sure I have solved the problem by COMPLETELY uninstalling X-Fi from the computer using the guide here on this site and re-installing all the X-Fi drivers and ap

  • Converting Publisher to PDF file is not saving color text

    I am trying to convert files in Publisher 2007 to PDF. When I save the document to PDF, the color fonts are saved in black instead of the original color.  How can I fix this?  Color backgrounds are saved correctly.  It is just the text.
    Thank you.

    The fonts I am using are called Willow and Baskerville Old Face.  They are both shown normally.  I did go into the preferences and the accessibility category and clicked on the replace document colors.  I chose a text color that matched the original in the Publisher document.  That changed the text color in the PDF document but the background went to white.  I cannot match the background color in the pub document with the PDF color choices.  It would be nice if when converting I wouldn't have to change any color settings.  Any suggestions?
    Thank you for your help.

  • PS CC 2014: Custom Workspaces Not Saving Palette Positions

    I generally have two Custom Workspaces: one for when I am working on a single monitor, and one when working with dual monitors. Unfortunately, when I create the second Custom Workspace, it saves the palette position to both of the workspaces. If I try to reset the first one, it saves that position to both. It kind of defeats the purpose of having them

  • When printing a book to PDF, bookmark definitions are not saved

    I recall seeing another post about this issue and I can't find it now, but none of the workarounds mentioned there worked for me, so here goes:
    I am working on a book migrated from FM 9 to FM 11, and when I print to PDF, I specify the bookmarks I want to display in the Bookmarks tab of the PDF Setup for Selected Files dialog. The PDF prints fine, but when I want to print the book again, FM doesn't remember my settings, forcing me to set the bookmarks from scratch every time. This has proven pretty tedious seeing that I'm working with an old book in which the styles aren't intiutive, so trying to remember all of them every time isn't the best of fun. When I print a single file in the book, the settings are saved properly.
    In the previous post, I remember reading that this was a bug in FM and trying the following suggested workarounds (none of which worked): Switching to structured mode; saving the desired setting in one file in the book, printing that document, and then printing the book (was supposed to result in FM remembering the settings for the entire book); saving the book right after it prints; selecting all files in the book and saving as PDF, as opposed to selecting the book and then File > Save as PDF.
    I'd be glad to know if anyone has any ideas, or if Adobe are planning to post a fix for this issue.

    It is my understanding that FrameMaker uses the setting stored in the first document of the book when creating a PDF from a book. So, open the first file in the book and make a PDF, setting your bookmarks as you want for the whole book. Then create the PDF of the book. Check the settings before you click Print to make sure they are what you want. You may have to make a few changes, but it should remember them the next time.
    I work with FM 9, so this may not be relevant to FM11. I find it necessary to open the PDF settings dialog each time I make a PDF of a book, and click Save/OK/whatever, to make sure the bookmarks are created correctly. The settings are always correct, no changes needed; but I find it necessary to open the dialog and close it to get the bookmarks correctly indented in resulting PDF. It may have been fixed in FM11.

  • Could not complete your request because specified color book could not be found

    I have seen this question on here before but the problem was never dealt with. From what I can tell this is an issue when a specific color from a color book is applied to a channel in Photoshop as a spot color and when the same file is opened on another computer with an instance of photoshop that doesn't share the same color book that said colors were pulled from, it simply won't open. Now I have been to countless pages that stated that I can simply download the new color books such as the Adobe Blog New PANTONE libraries but when I go to the link it suggests it just gives me some pantone color manager which after trying it for 30 days, did not download any missing color books. It seems to be the new pantone + libraries that I need in order to open these files. I also called pantone themselves to see if they could give me an answer so hopefully between here and there someone somewhere can get me those color books i need.
    They are apparently free and easy to download. I will probably feel like a moron when someone reveals something obvious I have overlooked but at the very least I just want this problem solved.
    thank you for your time.

  • Custom color palette not saving.  Why?

    Logic is not saving changes that I make to the color palette.  I can make the change, but after I quit and restart Logic, the changes are gone.  Any idea why?

    I've answered this question, but I cannot figure out what I've previously done wrong.  I managed to save the colours and get them to reload when I went back in to Logic. Not exactly sure how I did it, but it doesn't save automatically.

  • Illustrator CS6 is not saving user-created workspaces

    I have created a workspace to save for all of our users to utilize, but it is not saving. When I re-start Illustrator the created workspace is selected but is not coming up as it was saved. Is this a glitch, or am I missing something?

    Wayne,
    You have used Type>Create Outlines, with no live Type left behind (after saving the original artwork, of course), no?
    What if you Save As PDF, thus embedding the font(s), and they take it from there?

  • User color choice not saved in export preset?

    I'm currently writing my first plugin and still in a learning curve.
    My export plugin has a color_well control to choose a color. I have defined a default value of LrColor(1,1,1) which works well.
    However, the chosen color is not saved so every time the export dialog is used, it comes up with the default color value and the previously chosen color is lost.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks,
    Mario
    Code snippet:
    myPlugin.exportPresetFields = {
        { key = 'borderColor', default = LrColor(1,1,1) },
        ...more keys
    function myPlugin.sectionForFilterInDialog( viewFactory, propertyTable )
        return {
            viewFactory:row {
                viewFactory:color_well {
                    value = LrView.bind('borderColor'),
    end

    Many thanks for the reply and sorry for the delay. It took me DAYS to figure out how to save the r,g & b components.
    Finally, I succeeded with this method:
    myPlugin.exportPresetFields = {
        { key = 'color_r', default = 1 },
        { key = 'color_g', default = 1 },
        { key = 'color_b', default = 1 },
    function myPlugin.sectionForFilterInDialog( viewFactory, propertyTable )
        return {
            viewFactory:row {
                viewFactory:color_well {
                    value = LrView.bind({
                         key = 'borderColor',
                         transform = function ( value, fromTable )
                              if fromTable then
                                  return LrColor(propertyTable.color_r, propertyTable.color_g, propertyTable.color_b)
                              else
                                  propertyTable.color_r = value:red()
                                  propertyTable.color_g = value:green()
                                  propertyTable.color_b = value:blue()
                                  return LrBinding.kUnsupportedDirection
                              end
                         end
    end

  • Colors books do not have colors in numerical oder and typing 133 gets me 330:  is that right?

    I was using the Pantone Color Books as I would in CS5.  I expected to see the colors in numnerical order but the numbers jump around plugging in the 7500s randomly.  If I type 133 to get that color in the Uncoated, I get it.  If I type 133 in the Coated, I get 330.  Unless there is a preference for setting this behavior, I think it is a bug.
    2 x 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon, 8GB 800 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM

    I was not aware until today that Pantone had put out two sets of color books:  e.g., those marked as PANTONE solid uncoated with another set named Pantone+ Solid Uncoated.  The latter is not in CS5 applications.  It is that set, the Pantone+ set that has the higher number co-mingled with the lower numbers.  Both sets are resident in the Photoshop CS6 color books list.  I am glad about that.
    As for the typing in 133 to get 133C and ending up on 330C--I did it at least six times with no luck and quit the application to have dinner.  I have not been able to produce that again.
