CS# Bridge - Folder Palette unresponsive

This is a CS3 Bridge (2.1.1.9) phenomenon I noticed from day 1. Sometimes when I am in the Default Workspace view with the Folder tab selected, I am unable to click on and select a folder for display in the Content window, or to get the folder hierarchy to react to my mouse clicks in any way, i.e. expand a folder to see its subfolders. I can get the Folder palette to scroll with my Mighty Mouse scroll ball, but clicking does nothing.
I never been able to figure out why this happens sometimes and not at other times.
Any help is appreciated.

Assuming you already tried to refresh preference you could also try to manual trash the Bridge plist file from the user library preferences folder. This will many times solve such strange problems.
Also you could try to select the parentfolder in the folder panel that contains the folders you have issues with. When selected use the purge cache folder option in the tools menu.
There also has been an issue with precise selection of the folder but I don't recall that clearly, it had something to do with selecting the folder icon and name gave good results and selecting the row where the folder is placed in could cause the behavior you describe. however this should have been solved after preferences refreshing.

  • Blackberry bridge folder and all icons can no longer be found

    I have my blackberry connected to my 9780 thru BB Bridge. The Bridge folder and its icons can not be found, however.
    I know that I'm connected (the number of bridge messages are showing up in the upper left corner of the screen, but no icons. Remote control works.   Right after the upgrade to 2.0, the folder and icons were present.  They have disappeared.  How do I restore them?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    If you can get access to another BB phone, try bridging with the other phone. I have two BB phones. Whenever I switch between phones, the Bridge folder moves to the upper left corner of the first tab. Kind of annoying for me because it means I cannot move the folder to the dock. But it may restore the Bridge folder and icons if they disappeared on you.

  • Cannot see Bridge folder on BlackBerry's SD Card in PlayBook Bridge Files

    I have learned that when downloading a file through the messages app on the PB, the file is stored in /Media Card/BlackBerry/documents/Bridge.  These files are accessible on the BB through the email the attachment came in.  However, I cannot access these files directly through the Bridge Files app as I cannot see the Bridge folder on my SD card.  However, if I download an attachment from my BB and select Store on Media Card, it is stored in /Media Card/BlackBerry/documents/ and is fully accessible from the PB.
    Any ideas why I cannot see the Bridge folder from the PB? Is that by design? I know it is hidden by default, but I make it visible so it shows in the BB's Files app.  If I rename the folder to Bridge2, it is fully accessible on the PB and subsequently loaded documents are in a newly-created Bridge folder, which is again hidden by default.
    BB9900 OS 7.0.0.503

    16 GB PB 1.08.6067
    PS - FWIW, I had this same problem on my 9700 also on a BES, so I don't think it is an OS 7 issue.
    Thanks!

    Sorry it took so long for me to get back to this. The linked support article addresses the issue directly (thank you both), but the method recommended there (importing the entire AVCHD folder structure) didn't solve the problem. The small number of videos that iPhoto could not see originally also did not get imported, though the ones that it could originally see, did. Luckily since the percentage seems to be small (~10%), it is not prohibitive to open them one by one in Quicktime, re-export them, and then import them into iPhoto. Hopefully this will be fixed in the future. Thank you all for your suggestions.

  • Bridge Folder disappeared

    I am running the latest software on my Bold 9900 and Playbook and the other day I noticed that my Bridge folder just vanished from my Playbook.  How do I get it back?

    Hello dmsleb,
    Welcome to the forums.
    I would suggest you disassociate your BlackBerry® smartphone from your BlackBerry® PlayBook™ tablet. Once this is done ensure you have the latest version of bridge on your BlackBerry then pair the two again and then bridge to see if your the bridge folder reappears.

  • When I save an image after editing it goes into my Bridge folder instead of Lightroom.

    I have been using Photoshop CS5 and Bridge for photo editing.  I recently got Lightroom 4.  When I edit a picture and save it, it goes to my Bridge pictures folder not back into Lightroom.  How do I get it to save into Lightroom?
    Thanks fo ryour help.
    Cheers, Brent

    You can try to drag the image in a Photoshop window instead.<br />
    If that still doesn't work then you need to save the image and open it in Photoshop.

  • Re: Adobe Bridge Folder Sorting Options.

    Is it possible to assign different sorting options to different folders in Bridge.
    I would like my main folders sorted alphabetically by filename but I would like the contents of those folders to be sorted by "date modified" so I can easily find the latest iteration of an image.
    When I sort the contents of a folder by date modified, Bridge then also changes all the other folders (including my main folders) to date modified.  Is there a folder sorting option assignment which I have not located?
    Thanks for the help.

    Well, then . . . .  Make is so . . . .

  • Bridge 'Folder Panel'

    In the past, opening Bridge would display the Folder Panel with the last folder I was working in showing. Now everytime I open Bridge it goes back to the top of the folder hierarchy. Anyone know how I can get back to the way it used to work? Opening the folder hierarchy back to where I was takes a lot clicks and is annoying and time consuming.

    You may have it set to "autoload on startup", if so it will not remember any changes you make unless you close it by clicking on File/exit.
    Or I would go into advanced preferences and uncheck that box so it does not autoload..

  • Bridge Issue:  CS6 Unresponsive, how to make it respond?

    2 second lag after clicking on any menu item.
    4-8 second lag after right clicking on any image.
    3 second lag while selecting images with arrow keys.
    2 second lag selecting multiple images
    My system is high performance:
    . 12 Core 3.3Ghz Xeon Processors
    . 24GB RAM
    . Primary drive is 8 SSDs in a RAID0 configuration
    . Dual nVidia Quadro FX5400
    . OS: Win7 x64
    CS5 and CS5.5 were very “snappy” in responsiveness on this system.  CS6 Bridge works fine on my laptop, perfectly responsive.
    Once Camera RAW or Photoshop are open, no issue working in these tools, so, the issue is bridge.
    Here’s my debugging steps which have not worked to fix the issue:
    Installed the latest camera RAW plug in from Nikon.  Nikon D800 RAW .NEF files work in windows explorer and in CS5.5.
    Installed all windows updates
    Installed the lastest nvidia FX5800 card drivers
    Uninstalled all Adobe products (reader, media player, etc.)
    Uninstalled all plugs ins (HDR, noise, etc.)
    Checked there are no fonts on the system (no TTF files)
    Uninstalled Office 2013 to make sure there were no system font issues.
    Uninstalled all Nikon software except the RAW plug in.
    Deleted C:\Program Files\Adobe and C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe
    Searched for any Adobe reference in c:\Users\<my_username>\ (example AppData), and deleted it.
    Cleaned the registry of any reference to Adobe or any dll related to Adobe or an Adobe plug in.
    Rebooted multiple times.
    Re-installed CS6 Master Collection.  At this point it did not recognize my raw photos (.NEF from a Nikon D800).
    Installed all Adobe Updates.
    The updates fixed the camera raw issue
    Ran FontTest.jsx – all fonts passed, none failed.
    Tried Preferences:
    Advanced -> Use Software Rendering : CPU utilization went up, but, no impact on the lag
    Startup Scripts : Disabled all but Photoshop CS6
    Increased Cache Size, Compacted Cache, Purged Cache, Different Cache organizations, etc.
    Does anyone know how to fix this

    I talked to support on Thursday and was told that someone would call within 3 days.
    Of course no-one did. Adobe have gotten too big and when that happens support becomes bad, very bad.
    The last problem I had with bridge was all the 'file type associations' were lost. I thought being a paying customer I will call on their help. Again Crap support, kept telling me the same thing set each one up individually. In the end I found a registry hack that sorted the problem out.
    I’m all up for being legal and pay a lot of money on software making sure I am but I do understand that when a large company offers such bad support why people start thinking why pay.
    Surely part of the Cloud subscription I pay should enable me to get support others who use the software illegally don’t get. Of course in reality I don’t. I don’t get any useful support.
    I have to repeat myself for every department, wait around for calls that never come and hunt the forums for people who seem to do better jobs in informing others of how to solve problems.
    I will keep updated on the problem as I know more. I will also like anyone else who is having to problem to message here.

  • Open file in 'Bridge' folder from Illustrator Script. How? (Mac)

    I need to access a file in the Bridge directory, from a script in Illustrator. I can do this already for PC with a concrete reference like this:
    var loc = "C:/Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Bridge CS3/webaccesslib.dll"
    How do you construct a string to get at it on a Mac?
    thanks,
    -J

    Sorry, I misunderstood your question, I didn't realize you were looking for a specific file.
    I was going to suggest getting the path to the application and adding '/Contents/MacOS/webaccesslib.bundle/Contents/MacOS/webaccesslib' to get to the file, but I don't see a path property for the application in Bridge. Seems like a ridiculous oversight on Adobe's part, seeing how the other applications can return the path to themselves.

  • Bridge Folder Thumbnails Issue

    If I open a folder that has multiple folders in it, some of them are the normal size thumbnails but they don't say what the name of the folder is beneath it. Others (in the same folder) have a little tiny folder icon, with what looks like a sort of button over it, with the folder name on it.
    I tried purging the thumbnail cache but it repopulated with the same icons.
    Any ideas on fixing this??
    Thanks

    Hi. Not sure if I'm understanding correctly, but try going to the View menu and looking to see if "show thumbnails only" is checked. When I check that choice, I get folders with "buttons" containing the filenames floating on top of the folder thumbnail. when you uncheck that, the buttons go away and you get back your folder info., keywords, etc.

  • Bridge cs3 unresponsive

    Last week my Photoshop CS3 stopped working because "licensing for this product has stopped working". After talking to the guys of technical department that problem seems to be solved. Now I have a new issue: Bridge CS3 is unresponsive. I can't see my pictures through Bridge. The answer of the technical department: they can't help me since "my problem" is not related to Photoshop CS3 and is not an installation issue. They referred me to this forum. So, my question is, how do I get my Bridge CS3 back to work? The photos are still there since I can open them in Lightroom, so what is the problem?
    Thanks for any help,
    Not technical savvy at all....

    So, my question is, how do I get my Bridge CS3 back to work? The photos are
    still there since I can open them in Lightroom, so what is the problem?
    First of all the CS3 version for Bridge is pretty worse to put it mildly,
    you are 2 versions behind and both CS4 and CS5 version of Bridge are far
    better, more stable and faster.
    However if you don't want to upgrade it should be possible to get it back to
    work.
    First try the obvious route using the menu tools, cache, purge cache for
    folder and see if Bridge goes back to work again.
    If not restart Bridge holding down option key and choose reset preferences.
    Try again and maybe also try the purge cache using the tools menu.
    If no luck there is an other method but a little more effort needed for this
    so first try the above options.

  • Bridge CS6 metadata palette not creating bag array

    I am having trouble getting a custom XML Bridge metadata palette to write bag arrays.
    What I want is:
    <dcterms:subject>
        <rdf:Bag>
           <rdf:li>term 1</rdf:li>
           <rdf:li>term 2</rdf:li>
           <rdf:li>term 3</rdf:li>
        </rdf:Bag>
    </dcterms:subject>
    The result I get is:
    <dcterms:subject>term 1; term 2; term 3</dcterms:subject>
    My code is:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <xmp_definitions xmlns:ui="http://ns.adobe.com/xmp/fileinfo/ui/">
    <xmp_schema prefix="dcterms" namespace="http://purl.org/dc/terms/" label="$$$/Custom/Schema/dcterms/Label=Dublin Core Terms"/>
    <xmp_property prefix="dcterms" name="subject" label="$$$/Custom/Property/dcterms/Subject=Subject" category="external" type="bag" element_type="text"/>
    </xmp_schema>
    </xmp_definitions>
    This code works in CS4 and CS5.  I don't see any new requirements for XML panels in the CS6 XMP SDK, am I missing something? I also tried writing a simple dc:subject property, but it also failed to create a bag.  The CS6 Bridge IPTC Core palette works correctly, so I have to think this is a problem only for custom palettes.
    Thanks,
    Greg Reser

    Thanks Curt, but this is not a virus issue.  Think about it, how could the ntdll.dll file be virus infected and yet only impact the running of this single application?  That really wouldn't make sense now would it?  That library is critical to many windows function and if it were virus infected, I would have more things to worry about that trying to get Bridge to launch.
    I already did my homework on that before I posted here and tried some of the things suggested on verifying the integrity of my system files.  The Digital Signature Information shows to be okay.
    It could be that I upgraded this system from Windows XP Professional to Windows Vista Business and that I have an old (CS2) install that I did not remove from the computer.  I have done a variety of things to try and get to the root, but to no avail.  I am sure that if I were willing to start completely from scratch and do a clean install of the OS, I may be able to get it to work.  I don't really have time to do that however, and since I am not the only person who has had the issue with Bridge failing to start, I suspect the solution lies somewhere within the architecture of Bridge in CS6 that is at the root of my problem.
    I am hoping that someone from Adobe will finally figure it out and provide an update that works.

    Unfortunately, you are not addressing Adobe here in the user forums.
    However, there are many highly experienced volunteer users here willing to help.
    Can you please clarify:  are you saying that your Flood filter (whatever that is) is in your Bridge folder but not in Photoshop?

  • Custom XMP panels don't show in Bridge CS4's Metadata palette

    I've got a CS4 custom XMP panel working (using the "Generic" panel in the SDK) but I can't get it to display in the metadata palette of Bridge CS4 (the thing normally bottom right in the default Bridge "essentials" view).
    In the old CS3 format, you could do this by adding an "fbname" attribute to fields of the custom panel. How do we now do this in the new SDK?
    The Bridge metadata palette is mentioned on page 25 of the SDK programmer's guide, but the example given is merely of Dublin Core keywords (i.e. dc:subject) so shows in the Bridge metadata palette by default already.

    Following on from this question, is it possible to build up a Metadata panel group of fields drawn from different namespaces? (by group I mean something like the IPTC Core label and arrow which expands into the IPTC fields).
    One would have a heading such as "My data", which when expanded shows x fields from one namespace #1 and y fields from namespace #2. I've tried to do this by leaving the namespace blank and hardcoding it and the prefix into the properties' name argument - eg http://ns.adobe.com/photoshop/1.0/photoshop:Urgency
    Hope this isn't a hijack!
