CS Exporting pages 1 thru 18 of a 99 page document

A bit confused on how to export sections of a pdf. I need to export 1 thru 18, then another export 19 thru 33 and so on. my ID file has one master A and page numbers on the bottom.
any help here?
RD

If exporting as PDF (Print) in the first screen of the export dialog you will see a section marked Pages whre yu can enter the page numbers in your range with a hyphen between a continuous range, and a comma between discontinuous pages.
You should see a similar field at the top of the Interactive PDF export dialog.

  • How do I export Pages document into iPhoto

How do I export Pages document into iPhoto?

    Hi PhilipFG and FoxFifth,
I've been using the same process Pages > PDF > iPhoto.  However, when it gets to iPhoto there's a lot of waiting around time for it to allow me to do anything i.e. cropping, enhancing.  The little coloured ball is just turning and turning. It's not happy to be there!  There is a big difference (it appears) in the resolution when it ends up in iPhoto using this process.  The images have shadows.  My business partner has an older Mac and can export directly to iPhoto from Pages without having to create a PDF first.  Perhaps this is just an option on the older one but she now can't open the pages file I send to her either.  Besides the fact that she clearly needs a new Mac...has anyone any further updates on what else can be done to export directly to iPhoto?  TIA

  • How can I get my exported pages document to appear the same in pdf?

When I export my document to pdf, the font color for those that I have reversed (white color) appear black and don't show up because the background is black. I've tried exporting my file 10 times and it appears to be different on many occassions. I can't get the entire document to appear correctly. Help!

Would you mind sending me the Pages document for me to try myself. I don't have MacOs 10.7.5 but I have 10.6.8, 10.8.x and 10.9.1. I can try Pages 08 on all of them. Click on my blue alias and youl'll find the address.

  • Can't export Pages document to PDF

I have been trying to export a Pages document to PDF a number of times and get the following message: "The application Pages quit unexpectedly." I have rebooted and still can't export. Can anyone help, please? Thanks so much.

    paramita,
    Welcome to Apple discussions.
That particular issue usually indicates either a bad font or a corrupt image. Or both. Try validating your fonts using Font Book. If you've got a corrupt font, change fonts in your document. If Font Book tells you all your fonts are healthy, try pulling half of the images out of your document, then saving again as a PDF. If it works, you know you've got a corrupt image in the half you pulled out.

  • I can't seem to export page documents as word documents

Recently, when try to save a pages document as a word document, I get a message that tells me that I can't export the document as a similarly named word document. What's happened? It is a new phenomenon, as I've been doing this as long as I've had Pages. Often the pages document was created by copying text from the internet.

I get a message that tells me that I can't export the document as a similarly named word document.
Are you trying to save it with the name of an already existing Word document in the same location??? If not try closing Pages, then delete the com.apple.iwork.pages.plist in ~ > Library > Preferences. restart the computer if you haven't done it lately. Try Export to Word in Pages again.

  • I can not export Pages document into a Word file

Please help! I have researched many feeds in regards to my issue. None of the suggestions seem to work. I need to export a Pages document into a Word file and get the error messge "an unknown error has occured". I have attempted to "Save as" and export directly from the file menu. All of my fonts have been validated. Not sure what my other options are. Can anyone give any insight? Thanks

In case if the files are missing for the once you have in your book module they can have issues exporting as PDF or JPEG.
Please check the same and replace the files which are missing or attach the same and then try exporting the same.

  • How do I get the content to match when exporting pages document to word?

How do I get the content to match when I export a pages document to word format?

You simply cannot get an absolutely identical export, in any app to any app. Exporting from one app to another means converting/parsing code, therefore the result cannot be identical. In order to have control over your final result, use PDF export. If you need a closer compatibility with Word, use OpenOffice or LibreOffice. I would not bet that Word for Mac would presserve identical page setting if file is created in windows, or vice-versa.

  • Exporting Pages document to HTML

When I export to HTML a pages document created with my own template, the HTLM document shown images not in the original document.
My question is how do I correct the problem if I can NOT see the images in the pages document? are they hideen behind the text? The images probably came from my trial and error of creating image placeholders however they no longer appear in the pages template or document.
    Please help.

    Welcome to the discussions.
Save yourself grief, time, and torn out hair. Don't try to create HTML in Pages. Use an HTML editor instead. If you want a WYSIWYG program, try iweb, nvu/seamonkey, sandvox, rapidweaver, shutterbug, freeway, dreamweaver.

  • WORD crashes on opening exported PAGES document

HELP! I'm trying to export a fairly large (63 MGB) PAGES file to WORD. It seems to export OK to my desktop, I open WORD and can see the file/document BUT also the dreaded whirling beach ball...
Within seconds, I get the message that WORD has 'unexpectedly quit" and I can send a message to Microsoft, etc.
I have completely re-installed Microsoft Office 'o4, but still get the same result. The export function worked for me a couple of weeks ago so my only guess is that it is the size of the file??? The original PAGES file has to be OK for I can export it as .pdf just fine...
Any ideas? I am really boggled!
    GlenCarbon

    Glen,
The other posters may be absolutely correct. On the other hand, it may be nothing more than a corrupted graphic in your file that's choking Word. To test this theory, make a backup of your file, and work with that. Start by removing half of the graphics, then export to Word. If the problem goes away, you'll know the issue was with one of the graphics you removed. If you still have the problem, try removing half again of the remaining graphics.

  • Exporting Pages documents as Word loses italics.

    Can they be preserved? How?
I love Pages 4.1 otherwise. This makes me very sad.

When you insert a piece of text using Times Italic, you no longer use the font :
"TimesNewRomanPSMT" which is the standard one
but : "TimesNewRomanPS-ItalicMT" which is the italic one.
Maybe this one is unavailable in the PC running Word and so, substituted by the standard font.

I'm just a little bent to purchase commercial software with the idea that it will be as bitchen as my new MBP, and have a 1995 problem like this hit me upside the 32 page, footnoted, and heavily cited article as I go to export & send to the editor. I had similar issues in college (~1995), and am incensed that exportability of Apple word processing documents to MS Word is not closer to perfect sixteen years later.
The first Pages version was introduced in 2005 so it's not 16 years after but six years after.
Don't dream,Pages will never be 100% compatible with Word. It was not designed to achieve this goal.
If you want to build 100% compatible documents, you must use Word or one of its free clones and I'm not sure that your docs will be rendered exactly the same way on PC or on mac.
Apple goal wasn't and I hope that it will never be to clone Word behavior.

  • Exporting Pages documents

A colleague has sent me a number of edited articles which she worked on in Pages (and as she's new to Macs, I'd guess the most recent version), and has sent to me as Word documents; I have Word for Mac 2004, not Pages. Somewhere on the way most of the formatting (italics etc) and images have been lost, and as the articles contain lots of book titles, it will be a real pain to have to reformat them myself. Is there any way she can send the documents without losing the formatting? I have tried googling this, but not come up with anything very helpful.

It sounds like the article is a basic text article which could be created and saved from many applications including TextEdit which is on every Mac sold and can save in several formats including Word.
Try a Copy All from Pages and pasting into TextEdit and saving from there.
I use, and am extremely happy with, *iText Pro/Express* which saves in a multitude of formats: .rtf, Styled Text, HTML, .odt (Open document), .docx (Word 2007), .doc (Word 97), .xml (Word 2003 XML), one of which I am sure would do exactly what you want. iText is a superset of TextEdit, which can open iText files with some loss of layout such as multiple columns.
Most problems in transfer are to do with images and fancy layout such as tables, wraps, breaks, etc.
I wonder if there is a font problem as well in your transfer, a possible transposition of fonts which don't share common styling.

  • Export Pages document to Keynote

Who knows a way to export a text to a Keynote presentation? I now do it through Word and Powerpoint.

Copy-paste????? I'm not sure I understand your question.

  • Export pages document and loose the "configuration"

I made 4 schemes on pages on my iPad 2.  They look great. Problem: copy the hole document which is build up by boxes in boxes with arrows and text inside several of this boxes in boxes.  Clear?  So I can't put the work, my schemes, into a text I typed in pages.
No problem, I I'll do that on my MBP, I thought...
I saved the schemes in iDisk, I transferred them through iTunes, I emailed them to me, I tried this in all the supported extensions, nothing worked.
    Anyone who knows a solution?
    Is this a flaw?
    Developer?
    Apple?

Thanks Peter....I still had them in as it is work in progress -
    Thanks

  • How can I export pages 09 into a jpeg?

Any suggestions on how to make a document I created in pages into a jpeg? Can I turn a PDF into a jpeg?

You can turn a pdf into a jpeg. After you export the Pages document as a pdf, open it and Preview and do a Save As and the drop down menu will let you save it as a jpeg.

  • Exporting sounds in Pages document to PC users

Is it possible to export a Pages document with sound clips embedded, to a PC user?
I tried exporting as a PDF but even when I opened this on my iMac with Preview or Adobe Reader, the sound clip icon was missing.
I exported as a Word document (which created the .doc file and a folder with the media files in it) and when I moved these to a PC and tried opening the .doc in Word general formatting was intact and there was an icon for the sound clip, but I couldn't seem to click or double click and get the sounds to play.
I tried exporting as an HTML and while the sounds would play, the general formatting was lost.
Any hope of doing this? (My intention would be to email someone with a PC with the document (and perhaps media files) attached.

    Thanks for the reply, Magnus.
I guess I have to accept this, but one thing that puzzles me about your reply:
"In theory both Word and PDF should take embedded sounds, but Apple has not implemented the feature"
This implies it is the Apple software that is the weak link. Yet in a Pages document I can clearly have the imbedded audio. So is it in their implementation of their export features where the audio is stripped out or is it the inability of the 3rd party products I tried (Adobe Reader and Word) to handle what might really be imbedded?
