CS Extension Builder 1.5 trial version is now live

All,
today we launched the trial version of CS Extension Builder 1.5 on Adobe.com. The trial version is fully functional and will expire on November 1, 2011. Here is the relevant blogpost. Yeah I couldnt agree with you more on the open source aspect. Maybe well get some form of AIR support on linux for those of use who develop on linux as well (doubt it comes back with Adobe driving the train) who knows what the future holds.. GOD KNOWS IM SICK OF CYGWIN...
All I'm saying is we cant build a business around uncertainty.
We recently signed up for business catalyst, I would of like'd to see some Actionscript API's for that... (I Love how muse and the dreamweaver extensions are using them but it seem they forget to package some up for us. I guess they really do expect us to use html5 for everything.)
They are close to releasing Flash builder 4.6 but Creative Suite Extension Builder hasnt been updated... Theres a lot of things getting left out...
There seems to be no communication. Amidst all that goodness that has drawn us to using Flash and Adobe AIR for our game development theres a lot of confusion.
And take it from me and save yourself some time and dont call customer service I have found more info over the forums in two minutes then I did in four hours of phone conversation.
I think we may just hold off on purchasing anything else until they sort through the storm.
Consider we are currently developing our apps with Business Catalyst, CS5.5 Web Premium, Flash Media Server, CS Extension Builder, and there new flash 3d API's we dont have time or money to waste on such foolishness..
Someone needs to remind Adobe that they make software, They focus so much on the end users, THEY ARE NOT YOUR CUSTOMERS.. DESIGNERS AND DEVELOPERS ARE.. JUST EQUIP US WITH THE BEST TOOLS AND WELL MAKE THE DECISION...

Trial versions are fully functional so all extensions should

CC and CC2014 are the current versions of Photoshop. CC stands for Creative Cloud.

Install Extension Builder 2.1 trial failed [ windows 7 64bits ]

Trying to install the trial version of Extension Builder 2.1 on windows 7 64bits,
I'm stopped by the msi app that is not go true the last step of install...
Saying that it can't install Extension Builder 2.1 because Extension Builder 2.1 is not installed !
Don't now what to do whit this.

I finally succeded in installing Extension Builder 2.1.
I followed the advices from that forum topic http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1245836
and installed manually Flash Builder 4.6 before.
The first try failed. After cleaning of the registry for "Extension Builder" items, the installation succeded.

Extension Building with multiple CS versions in mind

Good Morning.
We are currently working on several InDesign projects which must support and continue to support InDesign CS5, CS 5.5, CS6 and CC. We are currently using the Extension Builder Flex based UI's with supporting ExtendScript libraries.
We are compatible with the current versions of CC; but I wonder how long we will be so? Will we need to support 2 UI frameworks in the future or will CC continue to support the Flex based versions of Extension Builder?

As you might discovered already Adobe thought its the best way to piss off all existing developers and drop the support for flash based extensions as soon as possible. They say at some point mid 2014 most applications wont support extensions built with flash anymore. Photoshop will be the first one, Yehaaa!

Downloaded RH 9 trial version and now Acrobat has disappeared

Hi all,
I have had Adobe Acrobat installed for years and use it all the time. Have also had RH X5 installed on the same PC all along. I downloaded the trial version of RH 9 and now find that all the icons for PDFs have changed to the icon you see when there's no application associated to the file. And if I try to open a PDF I get a message telling me the file can't be opened unless I have the application installed. And when I look in my program files in Windows Explorer, there is not longer an Acrobat folder. Is it possible that the download of RH 9 somehow wiped out my Acrobat? I have the Acrobat CD so could reinstall, but am hesitant until I understand what the problem might be.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I think you are going to need to take this one up with Adobe.
As I said much earlier in the thread, my thinking was that RoboHelp installed it's own lite version and that had somehow clobbered the full version. That said, it is not what I would expect, simply a thought as to what might have happened.
Also it is worth noting that this is the only thread I have seen about this problem.
When you installed Rh, did you elect to customise the installation and then deselect the installation of the lite version of Acrobat? If not, may that is what has caused this. I run several machines with Acrobat and installing Rh has never clobbered Acrobat.
Now that you have lost Acrobat I think you will need to also uninstall Rh, reinstall Acrobat and then install Rh as above.
If you need to come back here, knowing the version might help.

Installed Trial Version and now Dreamweaver is Screwed Up

I use Dreamweaver to design and update our website, but I
want others to be able to help maintain it as well, so I installed
the trial version of Contribute to see how it worked before I
purchased it. Now when I go back to editing with Dreamweaver, I
have error messages that weren't there before and things that no
longer work like they did pre-Contribute. For example: everytime I
open a page, I get an error...
"The following translators were not loaded due to errors:

has configuration information that is invalid. JSP.htm ASP.NET.htm

Also, the insert email link button gives me an error now:
"While executing onLoad in E-Mail Link.htm, the following

Also, when I hit Command + S to save an html page, then close
it, it asks me do I want to save changes.
There are so many quirks now that I either need to know how
to UNDO everything to get it back to the way it was before
installing Contribute. Or how to fix the issues that I am having.

Tiff images I used in trial version are now blurry in full version of InDesign CS5.5

I placed two tiff images (visual poems I made) into a file (a manuscript) using a trial version of InDesign CS5.5, and they appeared clear and crisp. Then I bought the full version of InDesign (the Education product as part of Adobe Creative Suite), opened the file, and the two tiff images are completely blurry!
When I open the tiffs in photoshop and view them as "actual pixels," they are clear and crisp. The resolution is 300. For one image I tried making it a lower resolution, and that didn't help.

Hi, I just unchecked the Object Level Display and nothing happened.
Nothing has changed with the images at all. The only thing that is different is that I created the manuscript in a trial version of the software. Maybe it was an earlier version than the software I purchased? Would that have an effect on the images? I didn't purchase the software directly from the trial version I used. What happened is that the trial version expired. Then a month later or so I bought a new laptop, bought the Creative Suite (Education version, so much cheaper than normal), and then installed the software on the laptop. Then I opened my manuscript using the new software, the CS5.5, and everything was fine except for the images being blurry.
Is it possible I used a trial version in CS5.0 and then bought CS5.5 and that has something to do with it?

I had a trial version and now i want to buy buty i forgot my serial number. How can in install aperture because the system always refer to the trial installation

A few months ago i installed a trial version of aperture. I never renewed it and now I want to buy it but it doesn't work.
The system always ask for the trial Serial Number and i don't know it anymore.
How can I get it so that I can buy Aperture definitly and use it.

I had the trial version and now that I uploaded the 12 full version it well not let me in .

I had the trial version and hit Buy , than I hit full version, after downlaod it did not put on a new icon and when I hit what I hit to open the trial it will not open for me to put the serial # given after the download, I also still have the version 7 Icon still working I thought it took it Off at install . If you have used your operating system procedure for uninstalling the application it will not interfere with your Catalog, Preferences and personal files.
Download the latest version if you have a LR 5 license key, from the link below.
Product updates
This should reinstall LR 5.7 and you should be good to go.
After the installation shut down the computer and reboot.

Please can you advise if I need to re-download the products, I have the trial version downloded. I have since paid for and began the creative cloud subscription. That's the right way, Step by step instruction :-
Launch one of the problem Creative Cloud applications.
On the Creative Cloud application trial screen, click License This Software.
Sign In with your Adobe ID associated with your Creative Cloud membership.

Accepted Trial Version XI, Now can't get back to X

I have in the past purchased both CS5.5 and CS6. Because i accepted a trial version of Acrobat XI, I can't go back to X and so have lost Acrobat. I want to be able to download it from my products, but i can't seem to find how or where i go to re-download items I have already purchased.
Why can't I download Acrobat X again since i did purchase it in the past.

Extension Builder and CS6 - read version at runtime

I want to check the version of my CS extension at main .mxml init time.
How does one find this version info from the manifest.xml?

AFAIK there is no API exposed by CSXS to get the bundle version. You can read the XML of the manifest and pull out the version though:

Note that basePath is a property on CSExtension.

Even though the printer is selected in the print screen - Adobe always save to a .prn file - which I am then unable to print?

You have enabled print to file in your printer driver. Nothing to do with Reader at all.
