CS Extensions and Extension Manager

Someone please tell me I'm wrong...
1) CS Extensions can only be installed using the Extension Manger.
2) As is apparent from this screen shot, it is possible to disable the installation of Extension Manager:
Putting these two facts together spells trouble. I might be creating installers that will not work because a user might not have Extension Manager, and there's no way around that...
If Extension Manager was made mandatory for CS Extensions, the installation of Extension Manager should be mandatory as well...
Also, is there more than one location where Extension Manager might be installed (if it is...)?

There is a checkbox in the Export Wizard, when it is checked, the zxp
(file format used by Extension Manager) will be unpacked into the
same export directory where you pick for zxp export. The extension in
the unpacked folder is signed and is ready to be copied to the
extension folder for release deployment. So you should be able to
incorporate that to your
own installer (or installation process)

In this log file I can see you are getting Error : U44M1P7 while updating the software
This Error comes where language packs for software are not installed properly on the machine.
I would suggest to update Adobe Application manager from
Windows : http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4773
MAC: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4774
then try to install the update if still you are not able to update software and getting same error then uninstall all the Adobe software selecting remove prefernces.
After uninstalling the software run the Adobe Cleaner tool(http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html) and remove the leftovers.

CC Photoshop and Extensions Manager

CC Photosop and Extensions Manager update once or twice every day or whenever I restart my iMac. Is this usual or necessary?

You say everything is up to date? And you have tried reinstalling all the CC apps? Is Windows also fully up to date? Hmmm... That could be tricky.
What version of Windows are you using? Have a look in Task Manager > Processes and see if 'CEPServiceManager.exe *32' is listed as running?
If not, I don't know where it would be installed from, and we'd need someone like Chris Cox to join the thread to tell us, but my guess is that it would install along with the CC Desktop Application Manager. Windows 8.1 can be problematic, and a bit fussy about the order of things, and it is definitely worth adopting best practice when installing your CC apps. That means restarting your computer, and right clicking the Desktop Application manager and running as Administrator.
How many CC apps are you running? If just Photoshop, Bridge, Expansion manager etc. then - and I hate to say this - perhaps have another go at reinstalling, but run the Cleaning tool after uninstalling.

Try some other Extensions before the Tony Kuyper's TKActionv3. GuideGuide is a favourite of mine, as well as Dmonzon tools, and maybe Russell Brown's Flypaper Textures.
I have to say that I have had problems with the CC Extension Manager a while back, but simply reinstalling just the Extension Manager fixed it. Perhaps CEPServiceManager.exe *32 installs with Extension Manager? Heck, maybe start with just trying that before reinstalling all your CC apps.
If you are still stuck, I'd risk sending Chris Cox a PM, but not until you triple check that your video card driver is up to date from the card maker's website.

TFS and Release Managment Setup in Azure VM- Release managment Extension not avaliable

We are planning to setup TFS and Release Management on a VM in Azure. In the portal there is an option to create a VM with TFS which is great but I do not see any option to install Release Managment as an extension.

Install Release Management as Extension (at the end of the article). I do not see the this option under extension when i am setting up a VM.
If there is another way of installing this from the portal please let me know
I know I can install all this as a stand alone installer but since azure provides these options thought i would use them.

Cisco Unified WFO - Call Recording and Quality Management with Extension Mobility agents

Hi All,
We're considering Cisco Unified WFO - Call Recording and Quality Management for a customer running UCCX 8.0, agents on multiple WAN sites, all agents using extension mobility.
The documentation I've been able to find describes three different recording methods:
Using Desktop Recording service (Endpoint) to record from an agent’s desktop.
Server Recording - Uses SPAN (not so good for remote sites)
Network Recording - Uses CUCM recording service / SIP trunk / phone's built in bridge.
Network recording or Desktop recording should be suitable for the customer but it seems that Extension mobility is not supported. Extension Mobility is not mentioned in the 8.5 installation guide, it is mentioned as ‘not supported’ in the 8.0 guide as follows:
'Server Recording and Network Recording have the following limitations:
• Extension mobility is not supported.'
Neither version's documentation specifically mention extension mobility in relation to the desktop recording method, though I realise this is a similar approach to the 'server recording' method.
So the question I have is: Is extension mobility supported in any way on version 8.0, or version 8.5 for recording? And if so which recording method(s) are supported?

I had more luck asking questions over at the Calabrio forum - they make the software and Cisco re-brand a version of it - there is some good info on their portal (http://portal.calabrio.com), you have to register but it's fairly painless. The answer I got was:
"QM Desktop recording has always supported extention mobility as it determines the recorded user by the desktop user's login. Extention mobility was not supported for Server and Network recording until the Calabrio QM 8.6.2 release in April 2011 and will be added to Cisco QM starting with QM 8.5.2 in June 2011"

Dreamweaver CS4, OS X 10.6, and Extension Manager 2.1.115

...they absolutely hate each other.
None...NONE...of my extensions work now. I can 'install' them with EM but the moment DW is started they not only show up, but when I returned to EM, they are (if EM was closed) no longer open, or (if EM was still open), there but not showing up in DW. I'm told (obviously) that I must restart DW. I do this, but still nothing; the extension(s) are not appearing anywhere.
If tried everything I can think of having searched multiple threads all over the place.
It seems to be an issue between OS X 10.6 and Extension Manager.
Anyone experiencing the same? Anyone find a solution??

Well you probably don't want to hear this, but until a lot of these bugs and incompatibilities get worked out it would be best to go back to what worked first, your old system. If its a production machine I would not upgrade until at least 3 or 4 updates had been released. If you just want to test use your second activation on a second drive and have the new OS loaded seeing how everything works until you are confident that you can install the new OS on your production machine.

The reason I opened the Extension Manager in the first place was to check to see if I had installed a third party extension. And I was presented with these warning symbols. I haven't added anything, I haven't done anything that would cause this.
Does anyone know how to fix this???
I am running OSX 10.9.5; Indesign CS6 version 8.0.2 And Adobe Extension Manager version 6.0.8.28.

Many InDesign pre-installed extensions (Those extensions you have immediately after InDesign installation) define dependency rules in their mxi files. Dependency means that one extension works well only if one or more other extensions are installed and enabled. If this condition is not met, the yellow triangle warning will be shown.
You can select an extension with warning, click "Advanced" tag page in the lower right panel. You will see "This extension has dependency on: <extension name> ...". Check whether every extensions listed here are available and enabled. If not, enable them. Repeat these steps for all the extensions which have warning.

After installing FF 5.0 I am receiving a list of incompatible Add-Ons. I go into 'Extensions' and click to remove them, exit FF and lauch FF again, the same incompatible add-ons list appears. Is there a way to permanently remove the old Add-ons?

Thanks but I don't think this will help. Like I said, all of my add-ons were working fine and compatible until after running a previous version of FF. I am sure they are still compatible, but they are not working at all.
I even checked my profile folder and all of the extensions' data is all still there but FF5 is just not reading it correctly. (like adblock plus... I see the folder for it but FF5 doesn't have it on the add-on manager page when I run FF5)

Error -603 (could not install extension) notification keeps popping up when I sign into CC even though I've installed the extension trough Extension Manager

Hi like my question says above, purchased an extension and installed it manually because it would not install automatically (error -603) but now I keep getting the same message/notification every time that I log into CC when starting the computer or if I log in manually after having logged out

* How did you use Extension Manager to install that add-on? Where do you get the zxp file? Did you install that add-on from Adobe Exchange Panel?

This thread series is being posted only for the purpose of extracting usually "hidden" things.So that the users who have gained a satisfactory level, can share or explore some deep sides of OAF.
So as the first thread in "Deep in OAF..." is regarding Extension and Personalization.
Q1. My first question is when I perform a vo substitution, how does OAF manages to pick the new extended vo in place of existing one.There is MDS which has substitution information.But the question is how and when does MDS is read and what action then OAF takes to accomplish the task?

Finally here is the answer,with slight doubt..
Sufficient information was already collected in previous posts.
We could understand the role of MDS that it contains the substituion information.
Now answer to the question about how this information is used...
Well its the JVM which plays another role.
While running the JVM, there is a parameter which instructs the jvm whether to use the substituion informatio or not with the path of substituion information.
If it says yes then JVM looks in to substitution information and check what to replace with what. Means if VO1 is to substituted with VO1Ex..then
For each request to create object of VO1, JVM creates object of VO1Ex.
The remaining responsibility is of JVM.(As indicated earlier, A parent's reference can refer to child object.)
The slight doubt is, about the options how JVM gets value of whether to use personalization or not.
The two options are...
1. Pass as a parameter to JVM..(As explained here.The near same approach is also used by JDev).
2. OR its some of JVM's class file which contains the code to get value of the profile option and then take action accordingly. (This one seems more near to deployment instances and I favour it.)
And now it clears also why oracle says no to even creating copy of the object, but to extend.
Also it indicates how personalizations can be swiched of by FND_DISABLE_OA_CUSTOMIZATIONS.
So which option to choose? It becomes easy by the answer..when value of FND_DISABLE_OA_CUSTOMIZATIONS is changed, some server( apache or form ) bounce is required? (I never tested it so far)
If yes, then the option is first one other wise its second.

CS3 extensions and plugins to CS4

I installed Photoshop, Dreamweaver and Fireworks CS4 on my home computer several months ago. When I first ran Extension Manager CS4 it migrated all on the CS3 extensions into the new Extension Manager. But here at my office we just added Adobe eLearning Suite CS4 and the new Extension Manager doesn't seem to recognize that the old CS3 Extension is present.
Am I missing something, or do I now have to re-install all of my extensions and plugins for Dreamweaver and Photoshop? This sucks!!!!!!
My home machine's OS is Vista, the office computer has Windows XP SP3. Is that the problem?

No syncing is for Your Photoshop settings(not really) and presets between machines for a Photoshop versions CC to CC, CC 2014 to CC 2014 not between versions. Photoshop Preferences Settings like UI setting not to open documents and others are not synced.
Photoshop also has a feature to Migrate Presets between version of Photoshop, This has been available for some time. Photoshop menu Edit>Presets.. When you install a version of Photoshop you are also prompted with a question asking if yoy wish to migrate your presets from a prior version of Photoshop during the install process. Note the your new document Presets are not migrated but you can do that yourself with a file copy. Note no New Document Preset sync option.

I'm running Ver. 17.0.1 on windows 7 and this morning all my extensions and plugins have just dissapeared. Help

Opened Firefox this morning and all addon extensions & plugins including my Roboform password manager are gone. In tools, Addons, extensions and plugins everything is blank. How can this happen? I'm running Windows 7 64bit Enterprise and this version of Firefox automaticly upgraded when it came out and everything was accepted by this version when it installed. It has been running for sometime now.
