Drop rules allow false positive tuning on a MARS, and are defined only on the Local Controller Drop Rules page. They allow you to refine the inspected event stream by specifying events and streams to be ignored and whether those data should be stored in the database or discarded entirely. Drop rules are applied to events as they come in from a reporting device, after they have been parsed and before they have been sessionized. Events that match active drop rules are not used to construct incidents. Because the Global Controller does not receive events from reporting devices, rather it receives them from Local Controllers, you cannot define drop rules for the Global Controller.

Hi,
Now you are getting differences of balances for p/l accounts or balance sheet accounts.
For P/L accounts at every year balance carryforward to Profit and loss account. But you check the balances through T.code FBL3N you will get cummumlative balance. So better check the balance with T.code FAGLB03.
If the problem with balance sheet then just test carryforward balances to new fiscal year once again in test run so that you will come to know if there is any difference in value.

When I try to execute F.07 last month (fiscal year April-March), carried forward balance and closing balance as per ledger are not matching for Customers. Could you suggest the possible reasons?

MARS - Understanding Rules and Incidents

I've been doing some testing, trying to develop a detailed understanding of how rules work in CSMARS. I'm getting inconsistent results. Let's assume I have the ability to create the EXACT same event 5 times in CSMARS at 10 second intervals. The only difference in the events is when they are received by CSMARS. The inspection rule is quite simple; look for this event type, count = 1 and time range = 5 minutes.
The events in CSMARS are always part of the same session. However, sometimes I get just 1 incident that fires right way. Other times I get 2 incidents, one that fires right away and another that fires after the 5 minute time range has elapsed. When there are 2 incidents, the time range for each incident is always from a subset of the events in the session. So for example, the first incident's time range might have a time range from the first 3 events and the second incident would have a time range from the last 2 events.
The end result though is that I have a single session that triggered the same rule twice. How is this possible?

Then I think you didn't accurately read the description of the problem. If one criterion is "Entire message - does not contain - burger", and the criteria are joined with an "and", then he should not be seeing only messages with "burger" in them.
evilme, my question for you is, you said "and"... but when editing a Mail rule, it does not use that same language. Where it says "If any/all of the following conditions are met:", does the pop-up menu say "any" or "all"? Can you post a screen shot of the rule settings?

CS-Mars Events/Incidents History

Hello all
i have a running CS-Mars, where it is configured for a daily backup using NFS protocol.
On the backup server, a new folder named by the Day Date is created daily where some sub folders inside are created (cf,es,in,rr,st).
1. My question is that, in the backup folder, the folder of October 22 (for example) does it contain ONLY the logs/events/incidents of October 22, or it does include all previous logs from the day the mars was installed? Because i am noticing that the size of each folder created daily is near from each other.
2. i want to know what is the size of the current Mars database containing events/incidents? to identify how much this database is increasing daily! and to
know how much the CS-Mars can keep on old events/incidents. Can CS-mars retain events/incidents for a year past? More? Less? Sure it is based on the log size but approximately how much!
3. in addition i know that once the Mars database is full, it will automatically delete old events/incidents. My question is that can i go back to archive and restore something (maybe a folder maybe something else) in order to read the old data deleted from the current cs-mars database without affecting any current config, or the normal work of the mars? And if restoring shall it restore other things or it will restore based on a certain criteria based on a query or rule?
And most important if i want to have a second copy of the archived data, that should contains my CS-Mars Logs, is it enough to take a copy of the last folder created for example October 22, or i have to copy all days folders created in Archive folder?
4. Finally, i would like to know can i configure CS-Mars to send me an e-mail notification for a specified recipient when a High Risk incident/event fires on CS-Mars from whatever reporting device the event was collected?

what i could conclude from the file is that for CS-Mars there is something called "System Log Message EPS" which is i guess a constant value related to the mars model specification, and there is the SDEE EPS that can be calculated through a IME statistics.i am not sure if they mean by IME statistics the connection of cs-mars with syslog server or something else.
also i knew that the IPS/IDS Event Sie is 500 bytes/event.
but i am not able to know what is the current size of CS-Mars HardDisk? and the Current size of the CS-Mars DB?
my CS-mars type is CS-Mars-25.
i maybe noticed that this type has no raid, but could it be without HArdDrive?
the show health info indicates a memory size of 2GB that i think it is the ram size.
note: What is mentioned that the CS-Mars will store up to 1.5MB including any captured packets. (ref. cs_mars_sizing_estimate file page 7/8) what could that means?

Have you tried deleting the songs from Settings?
Settings -> General -> Usage -> Manage Storage (not the iCloud link!) -> Music and then click Edit to enable you to be able to delete.

Can I pass parameters from a dashboard via a dashboard prompt and presentation variable to publisher report based on a data model with select statements in OBIEE 11g ?

I have a publisher 11g (v 11.1.1.7) report with a single parameter. The report is based on a data model not a subject area. I created a dashboard put a dashboard prompt and link to the report in separate section on the same page. The dashboard prompt sets a presentation variable named the same as the parameter in the report.
The problem was when I created the dashboard prompt, it forced me to select a subject area which I did (though did not want to) and then I created both a column and variable prompts. But clicking on the
report link completely ignored the value that I thought would be passed in the presentation variable to the report.
Side note : My report uses a pdf template for its layout where I have mapped the columns names from my data model to the form fields on the pdf form. I noticed that if I create a publisher report based on a subject area, then I do not have the choice to choose a PDF as a template type for my layout. (I only see BI Publisher Template as a choice).
I see some documentation online that suggest it could be done in 10g.

I just tried that and it still doesn't pass anything to the prompt.
I changed the prompt to an edit field and I made the following weblink but when i click the link from an account it doesn't put anything in the prompt and all data for all accounts is shown.

HT1386 Recently I updated iTunes on my PC and now the "Summary" for syncing my iPhone no longer appears near the top of my iTunes Window. The Summary lists items that I can sync with my iPhone such as "Music, Photos, Apps" etc.

"Summary" lists items I can sync such as "Music, Photos, Apps", etc with drop-down boxes I can use to manage how I sync those items. An icon for my iPhone does appear near the top right corner of the iTunes window; however, when I click on the icon, the sync automatically begins and there is no display of what is syncing or how much space has been used or how much space is left for syncing music, photos, apps, etc. The new iTunes window no longer lists "Devices" on the left-hand side of the window. Has anyone had the same issue?

Problem in Server Admin: cpu and network graphs not updated or empty after lion server update

Just for archive purpouses because i've already solved that!
After upgrading from OSX Server 10.7 to 10.7.1 my CPU and Network graphs in Server Admin stop being updated.
In 24h the graphs where blank (disk usage graph seem to keep working).
First i read about "what is the application responsible for this"; it's called ServerPerfLog, and you can see if it's running that way:
     # ps ax | grep ServerPerf
If you don't see anything else than your own "grep", that means that no application is running, no data is being collected.
     41324 s000 R+     0:00.00 grep ServerPerf
A positive response for this (meaning that the service is running) should be something like that (2 lines: your grep and the service app itself):
     94   ?? Ss     0:04.71 /usr/libexec/ServerPerfLog
     41344 s000 R+     0:00.00 grep ServerPerf
Later i read about "where is the config file for this service app", and you can find it here:
     /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.ServerPerfLog.plist
If you edit this config file, check that the "Key > Disabled" is set to "False"
     # vi /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.ServerPerfLog.plist
        <key>Disabled</key>
        <false/>
After that, i try to launch the service that updates this graphs again, by hand, performing the following command:
     # sudo launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.ServerPerfLog.plist
And the service got launch!!! yeeeepa!! i see a first update in graph data.
Also the "ps" query reply that the service was running!!
The bad things came a day after, when i saw that the graphs stop again....
I check if the service was running executing again the "ps" command, and that show me that the service was stopped again; no ServerPerfLog process was running.
But r e l a x, because the process hang because of a permissions problem.
You should know, I run "Repair permissions" within "Disk Utilities" over the running system disk, eeee... voila!
I hope that helps someone to get his fancy graphs back!

Excel & ActiveX: Insert arbitrary columns from 2D array and create graph problems

Hi there,
I want to insert data from either a 1D or 2D array from LabView into Excel and create graphs.
I used the information from the following example:

and was able to create a new Excel file (I'm using Excel 2010), writing data from an 1D array to a column in excel by creating a while loop and using the first element of the array to write it to a specific cell. I use the counter of the loop to write to the next cell when the loop starts over and always delete the first value, which I write to the cell, from the array until it is empty.
Now I also would like to write a 2D array - so the first column in Excel should be the first column from the array and so. Here I cannot use the loop counter directly as Excel only counts 1,2,... for the rows, but uses A,B,... to count columns. Also I do not know in advance how many columns my 2D array will contain, so creating a lookup table like (A means 1, B means 2,...) is not really an option (except there really is no other way). Is there a possibilty to convert numbers into letters or some way to 'explain' to the program that column 2 in the array means column B in Excel for example, or is there a way to insert new columns?
I figured out how to add new Worksheets and as I also need to create a certain number of Worksheets and I know that on standard 3 sheets are present when creating the file, I use the 'add' methode to create every new worksheets before worksheet 3 - I could use the same methode to create new columns in Excel, but so far I didn't find a methode to do so. Or is there a way to enter the whole 2D array at once?
Then I'd like to create a graph (in case of the 1D arrays a bar plot, when using 2D arrays a 3D plot) to view the data. I found this example:

I tried to load the snippet to a new Excel file but got the error message 'microsoft.office.interop.excel.dll not found' and hence the code is not working. That confuses me a little as I would guess when this dll is not present I cannot access Excel from LabView at all, though my understanding of what I'm really doing so far is quiet limited. ;-)
Also - as far as I understand from the snippet - when creating a new chart object I should be able the create methodes for it, however when I do a right click on the chart object of an ActiveX Worksheet symbol there are none listed.
To explain my problems better I added a snippet showing my two problems: The inner of the two while loops shows how I import a 1D array. In the outer loop I seperate the columns. I know that currently this is not working as all data end up in column A of the Excel sheet - so I would need to convert the number of the outer counter to A, B,... or find a different solution.
Moreover on the snippet I placed an ActiveX Worksheet Property with the Chart Object - as I can see the difference to the Chart Object in the example code from the last link above is the color. However I'm not sure what that means and how to change/ solve this.
And just to make sure - I know this way the VI does not run as the Chart Object is placed completely wrong - I just did it, so it is included in the snippet.

Today I had time to take a look at the example
Create via ActiveX Labview a XY Scatter plot graph on an excel sheet
It almost does what I want in terms of creating a graph. The only problem I could not fix, is that in this example a sheet is created where only the graph is present. i'd like to add the graph to a previously created worksheet. Today I tried get this working but it seems I stilll don't really understand what I'm doing, I'll post a snippet of my code as soon as I can access the PC with LabView on it again.
I also took a look at the other example for inserting 2D attays - it seems to be what I need, I just had no time so far to test it, I'll post an update when I could test it.

Last night, I plugged in my nano to sync and could not pull up the summary page. It will connect and charge, but will not pop up as a "device" in left column. I can't sync. how can I fix this?

Last night I tried to sync my IPOD nano, and could not pull up the summary page. It would connect and charge the IPOD, but did not pop up as a "device" in the left column, so I could not click it and get to summary page and sync new music. Same laptop for a year, same IPOD, synced 3 days ago with no problem. Now all of a sudden, I can't sync. No message or other window pops up to tell me if something is wrong. How can I fix this?

Read data from XML file and plot graph on Ms Words

Hi,
I'm using Visual Studio 2010, what I want to do is written in the title.
so far i was able read and plot graph on a Form but i unable to use the same method on Crystal Reporting.
The method plotting in Crystal Reporting is complicated and it require a fix data set or database which is not suitable for my case because every time the number of column and row or data will be different. (this is what i think base on what i found)
is there a way for me to display the output on a ms words?
and what is the method.
