Cs-mars reimage

Hi,
I have CS-MARS model 20.
When I try to boot with recovery image it gives me the following message:-
LILO 22.2 LOADING LINUX
W01
W01
But the same dvd works fine in vmware setup.
I suspect issue with the applicance, but not sure about the message.
Any help on this issue....

Hi G P,
It sounds like you may be trying to perform the recovery from the console on the MARS. The only supported method for recovery is to actually hook up a monitor and keyboard to the device and then reboot with the DVD in the drive. Do you receive the same message from a directly connected keyboard/monitor?

Reimage MARS 50 to 6.2, not reading recovery DVD

I'm having a problem reimaging a MARS 50, keeps telling me there is no OS when booting from the DVD. I've checked the iso image file size, same as that on cisco.com, and I used the `make bootable' option on my Roxio DVD writer software. Also using DVD +RW and burnt at 4x.
At this point Im not sure if its the DVD writer, software or method I'm using, so I'm going to try another machine to burn another DVD.
Whilst I sort one out are there any other suggestions for points i may have missed?

When troubleshooting a re-imaging problem, the first thing to check is the downloaded image to make sure it is good.

Hashcalc is a free program that can calculate the MD5 checksums of your downloaded files. Compare that checksum with the checksum posted on CCO for the downloaded file. If the MD5 checksum doesn't match, your DVD image will not work properly.
Next, try a different DVD burning software program. If you aren't running Vista on your Windows machine, try burnatonce. It's 'donateware' and is free for non-commercial use. I've had good luck with using it to burn bootable DVD images.

Next, try different media, especially if you are using generic DVDs.
After that, slow the burn rate down to 2.4 or even 1x.
Lastly, have you tried booting a known good bootable CD or DVD? If you have a Windows CD or something you know is good, you can try that to see if the drive itself is bad.

I work in the TAC security team.
I have seen customers getting the error: " cannot connect to SCSI driver "
This error message is seen when Mars cannot read from the DVD correctly.
Please do the following:
1. Download the image again from cisco.com.

Before downloading, note down the MD5 checksum.
2. Download: http://www.fastsum.com/ the software that verifies MD5 checksum.
Run this on the downloaded file and make sure checksum matches.
3. Use a different DVD burning software to burn the DVD.
I prefer: CDNurnerXP a free DVD burning software: http://cdburnerxp.se/
Make sure you use option: 'burn ISO image' to make a bootable DVD.
4. We have seen issues with "Memorex-brand DVD-Rs" DVD'S in the past.
Use a different DVD brand media and burn DVD at 4.x speed or lower.
Let me know if that fixes the issue.

Forgot Cisco MARS's username and password

I have Cisco MARS server and I forgot password to access.

Unfortunately reimage of MARS is the only way if you have forgotten the password.

FWSM and MARS

Hello,
I have the following situation in my customer's network: when adding the switch 6.5k with FWSM(ver 3.1) in MARS (4.2.8) discovery of FWSM results in an error with the following message:
Error occured during FWSM 3.x multicontext discovery. More detailed info may be available under View Error button of individual context devices. If you can not find detailed error info, please make sure 'hostname.domain-name' for each context device is unique
The more specific errors are non existent (when i click on a specific context and choose view error a get the same message)
I do get incidendts that my security contexts generate, but I am a bit unsure is this a regular thing or not? Deleting a module, reimaging MARS does not help.
Any help with this would be highly appreciated.

Unfortunately I cannot remove the config regarding the multicontext mode of FWSM.
I have tried deleting the FWSM from MARS, and adding it again, but I failed, because MARS kept on giving me the message that I already have FWSM configured even though I deleted it ffrom the MARS. So I had to reimage the MARS and start all over again, with the same outcome.

CS-MARS, data archiving issue.

Hello at all.
I'm using CS-MARS-20.
Reimaged, restored and upgraded to software version 6.1.8, I'm not able to start data archiving successfully.
I have configured data archiving using a remote SFTP server, click Apply, Start and Activate: data archiving status is running, service is enabled and remote server is available.
But MARS doesn't archive nothing!
Using another SFTP remote client with the same account used from appliance, I can create folders, files and remove.
Any ideas?

Now we are moving to a NFS solution.
Data archiving status is running, archiving service is enabled and remote server is available but events, incidents and configuration are not exported.
I can use CLI (pnexp command) to export configuration successfully.
Any ideas?

Cisco Security MARS 110 error - sfdisk:Cannot open /dev/sda for reading

HI when installing the MARS ver 6.0.1 we are getting this error sfdisk:Cannot open /dev/sda for reading, but found that this a bug for that ver BUG id : CSCso92379 - Cannot open /dev/sda for reading" error seen on installing Gen1 GC
So we tried installing the ver 5.3 now also getting the same error, pls let me know is this a hardware issue or a bug

You'd need to check the RAID controller BIOS to see if there's a hard disk drive problem or RAID configuration problem. Also check RAID controller is damaged as disks are not recognized at all.
Rebuild the Raid and reimage the appliances.

Reimaged Win 7 PC still cannot ping either domain controller by IP Address, but sees other PCs fine.

OK so this is weird one: I have a Window 7 box that when I went to use it, I discovered that it no longer had access to the internet, but it did see the other PCs on the network. After trying completely different network ports then removing/reading the NIC
and using system restore, I decided to reimage it from scratch and deleted the PC's name from the domain. Here's where it gets strange: Even after a completely wiped and reloaded PC from a known good template, it DOES get an IP address from DHCP/DC/DNS server
(same machine) it can view the other workstations on the domain, but it cannot even get a ping reply back from either of our 2 domain controllers, much less join the domain and it still does not see the internet. This one really has me kerfuffled! It is the
only PC with this problem and I've already scorched the HD.

According to your description, the Windows 7 PC has joined the domain before going wrong. And after a series of operations the Windows 7 still can’t access Internet and it can’t ping DC by IP address.
Have you checked the Windows Firewall to see if the firewall blocked the ICMP packet?
Due to the Windows PC can get an IP address from DHCP server as mentioned above, so what IP address the Windows 7 PC get? And what is the IP address of the Windows 7’s DNS server? We can use
ipconfig /all command to print out the TCP/IP configuration. Because we can’t ping DC by IP address, maybe the Windows 7 PC can’t connect to DHCP server. If a DHCP client can’t connect the DHCP server, it can assign a private IP address of
169.254.0.0/16 network to itself. Then the DHCP client will attempt to find an available DHCP server every five minutes. Obviously, computer with a private IP address can’t access Internet.

MARA-GEWEI is not overtaken during creation of material from cdesk

Hi, we work in ENV SAP R3 4.71 and create material in background out from
cdesk.
Therefore we defined in the customizing of CAD Desktop that in case of
creation of material MARA-GEWEI determination type = constant and
determination parameter is "ST" for "piece"
Every other parameter works fine during creation of material ==> as soon as
we fill a weight into the corresponding fields SAP tells us a message
"ENTER the unit of weight for the net weight" ==> if you press "continue action then" SAP ends creation of material an nothing happens....
ANY ideas?
(will enter this message for sure as well into the oss....)

Are both of these dates in the same Excel file? If they're in different files, are you choosing the same language for OCR (optical character recognition)?
If they are in the same PDF file, how was that PDF file created? Was it created from a third-party application (rather than an Adobe application)? If it was created by a third-party application, it could be that it wasn't written to spec, and that's why you're seeing some oddities in the PDF > Excel conversion. (See Will Adobe ExportPDF convert both text and form... | Adobe Community.)

Virgo Tools for Eclipse Luna and Mars

I tried to install the Virgo Tools both in Eclipse Luna and in Mars (JEE packages), from this update site:

Can not store data to append structure in mara

after make the following steps, I have problem, please give me some tips. thanks
1, Append structure Zcode in MARA.
2, Created a ZMGD1 via SE80 copy from function group MGD1.
3, modify screen 0001, put this Zcode in this screen and FC MARA-Zcode.
4, change SPRO, specify new program SAPLZMGD1 for this screen 0001.
after these steps, I can find out this new field (Zcode) appear in MM02.
but, the data of Zcode can not be store in MARA.

In MM43 on Basic data screen scroll down to see More Basic Data push button.
Once you enter in More Basic Data screen you have field there for size/dimension.
I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for.

Campo vAFRMM para transporte Marítimo - NFE 3.10

Olá Pessoal,
Para NFE 3.10, é exigida a tag vAFRMM quando há transporte marítimo.
AFRMM = Adicional de Frete para Renovação da Marinha Mercante.
O problema é que nas transações de NFe, esse campo aparece como cabeçalho e no XML aparece como item. O valor no XML para os itens, aparece REPLICADO com o valor do cabeçalho (MarFrete).
Alguém conseguiu resolver esse problema?
O mesmo foi corrigido por nota da SAP ou o rateio ocorreu na BADI mesmo?
Procurei até controle de tela para abrir esse campo nos itens, mas não encontrei nada.
