CS SDK... i think

Hi.
I am looking to get some definitive answers, and help to pursue the course of creating custom InDesign Panels.
I am told that I need to use the CSSDK. I have downloaded this, and TRIED to hook it into my Flash Builder 4 app.
This didn't work, 'no software found' errors came up as I tried to use the help/Install new software, and if I go thorough the Preferences/Install route, I get the error: "No Repository found..." when I test the connection.
While researching this, there seems to be some confusion around the CS EB, and the CSSDK. It also looks like the CS EB (Extension Builder) is only available to paid subscribers to the Adobe Developers community. Can someone put me right on these please!
I am itching to progress down this route, but find it less than straight forward.
If it is just me, please say so!

Is Adobe Air SDK needed GPU information, when the game want to load the ATF file ?

Hi, Adobe members.
this is jonghwan lee.
Actually I found texture load issue on a game(names samkukjangtu on korean) which is using Adobe gaming sdk.
the game uses the ATF file for the textures on the game(actually it's related in Air SDK, I think).
Of course, it is not problem for others GPU. but the newly launched IMG GPU( PowerVR rgx version ) makes this problem.
I guess the SDK is using GPU information for the control some configuration
is that right? please let me know about this issue ASAP.

Well. the issue is like texture loading problem as shown below.
<- this image is made from ATF files.
From checking original ATF file with ATF view program, the image was all right.
But the image is polluted like this after loaded on Texture memory.
So, I assume that Adobe Air SDK set some configurations for loading ATF files with GPU information.
Becasue this problem is not reproduced on the smartphone which uses the existing GPU(It means already launched GPU), but it is reproduced for the newly developed GPU(actually i'm developing with Imagination rgx version which is not really launched).
To sum up, Please confirm that Adobe Air SDK uses GPU information for loading texture from ATF file.

Latest Windows SDK That is Comatible with VS2005

I've got a legacy application written in VS2003 on XP supporting a camera using Direct Show.
I'm am moving over to VS2005 on Win7 32 (there is a reason for this). When compiling I run into all sorts of error issue with various platform and Directshow header files. Most of these are dated <=2003. I'm hoping these errors will go away in by updating
to VS2005 (I must use this for another reason) and using a newer version of the Windows SDK and DirectX SDK
Questions:
What is the latest version of the Window SDK that will work in VS2005
What is the latest version of the Direct X (I'm just using the Direct Show subset) that will work in VS2005.
I'm just trying to eliminat all the compile header file issue I've run into.

Yes, you can it only give you the current version. without a SAP Service Marketplace account.
There is a trial version of the SDK I think they got SDK 15.7 SP132 SP130 and SP127 up on the site currently.

Silly jdbc.odbc question

Hi,
I am trying to connect to a database with jdbc.odbc.
What do I put in my classpath? Do I have to download the jdbc.odbc driver?

you dont need to download the jdbc-odbc driver, as it comes packaged with the sdk. i think its in $JAVA_HOME/jre/rt.jar and is automatically in your classpath. You should be able to do a:
Class.forName("sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver");
to load the driver into memory. you can then use the java.sql.DriverManager to obtain your connection:
DriverManager.getConnection( dbConnString, dbUser, dbPass);
where your connect string looks something like:
"jdbc:odbc:<dsn>" (i.e. "jdbc:odbc:fooDB").
you'll need to create a system dsn on your windows machine, or follow whatever odbc configuration instructions if on a different os platform.
i hope this helps.. been a long time since ive used the odbc bridge. you should probably try and use a vendor supplied driver pure java driver. this gets rid of the need for client specific configuration steps.

Alpha channel videos problem on AIR 3.8 beta Android

Hi, I've found a strange behavior on the beta 3.8 SDK. When I load and play a FLV video with alpha channel it becomes completely black, but if I re-load it, it shows well. This does not happen on applications created with the release, 3.7 version of the SDK.

I think I am encountering the same issue with Air 3.8. Although I am not using the alpha channel and the video is a quicktime (.mov),
the video appears black (I can hear the audio playing).
I cannot switch back to 3.7 because that gave a error uploading the apk to the new google play console because of signing issues,
the upload issues were fixed in 3.8.

Custom Java Steps in IP-IVR 7.0

We have a customer who is upgrading from version 3.x to 7.x. They have scripts that make extensive use of customised steps, so we have avoided going to 8.x (as advised by Cisco) as there are issues supporting custom Java code under that version.
I have followed the "new" process of loading the jar files through Document Management, I have also attempted to create an AAR file with the appropriate manifest files (where it appears the only mention of custom steps is now made for this platform) all to no avail. The customised steps do not appear in the editor, nor does it appear that the java steps that used to be available are included at this stage either.
My question is this: does anyone understand what steps we need to take to convert the current environment to version 7? The documentation supplied by Cisco is very lean on detail (unfortunately common), and we have a tight timeframe to get it done.

Don't hold your breath for developers to hop on the support forums.
Set aside the AAR upload stuff for now. Follow the directions for the old CRA SDK; I think that will still fly on UCCX7. The simple version, as I pointed you to above, is found in the README for that sample PhonePush step in the IP Phone SDK. Throw your (recompiled) JAR files in \program files\wfavvid on the server, touch up customeditor.xml and customengine.xml there in the same directory (ought to copy right over from your 3.x system) and see what you get.
As for future support, I've poked around on a UCCX8 system and all that stuff looks like it's still there, but I haven't tried it. You just don't have a supported way to touch the necessary paths on disk short of adding yourself root access. Do-able, but if you run into problems, TAC is going to be of zero help. You might drop [email protected] a note and ask about the ongoing support situation for custom steps and subsystems.
If you'd set aside your preferred solution for a minute and tell us more detail about your actual business problem, what data you're trying to convert and how, we might be able to help you build a custom Java class the "new" way. This will accomplish your stated goal of encapsulating the code and calling it with nicely defined entry and exit points, and be more conveniently portable to new UCCX versions.

Samsung 2015 Smart TV

Has anybody seen Spotify in the new Samsung TV'sPasi

The new samsung uhd use tizen (based on linux) as OS for their smart tv. This means programns need to be recompiled for this OS. You have now multiple competiting OS for the new SmartTVs offered formthe different manufacturer: IIRC, WebOS for LG, FirefoxOS for Panasonic, and Tizen for Samsung. Tizen runs on smartwatches and alternative phones. Since they all provides SDKs, I think it is matter of time. Other interesting programs like Plex are missing as well. Interesting times.

Loading xml url throws error

I'm trying to create iphone app.
When I try to load xml url from desktop emulator it works like a charm.
But when I debug on the iphone device it throws error.
Error #2032
I have setup a crossdomain.xml file but that doesn't fix the issue.
I have no idea what to do from now?
I'm using the latest flash builder 4.5.1 and air 2.7 sdk i think.

Selecting pixels in a picture and changing their color with a script

Hi, I'm brand new to photoshop scripting, and I want to make a script that takes every pixel of a color and replaces it with a new color,
I'm having the hardest time finding any information on the internet on how to do it though.
I do have some background in other coding, so the concepts are not new, just the language and functions.
I know there's tools and filters already, but I want to make a script so I can add features.
Any help would be appreciated.

To create your own filters you would need to download the SDK I think you might find an example of a filter.

Point and Find

For some reason, the camera never activates in this app. So I cannot "point and find"!
It's an E63 - any ideas? Have I missed something?

Locale setting for spanish not working in flex plugin

I am using the following flex compiler setting in Flex builder 3 and it works fine to support Spanish Locale.
-locale=en_US,es_US
But the same setting is not working in eclipse installed with flex4 plugin running on flex 3.5 SDK. I am unable to build project with this setting. If i remove es)US then it works fine.
Here is my whole compiler setting
-locale=en_US,es_US -allow-source-path-overlap=true -source-path=locale/{locale}

you might have to restart eclipse but you shouldn't have too.
I'd check that Eclipse is actually looking at the sdk you think it is (Eclispe might be pointing to a different sdk than FlashBuilder 3)
otherwise I am out of ideas

[IDCS2 Win]How to Convert a PMString to uchar?

Hi I have got the Swatch Names in PMString as below: PMString swatchName= Utils<ISwatchUtils>()->GetSwatchName(db, uid); CAlert::InformationAlert(swatchName.GrabCString()); Now i have to write this in a txt file.I found that i have to use "IPMStream" to do this.I tried using the function below: virtual int32 XferByte (uchar *buf, int32 num)=0 The problem is the Swatch name's are in "PMString" but i have to pass "uchar" in XferByte as the first parameter. Plz tell "How to Convert PMString to uchar"? Any Code Snippets Plz. Thanks in advance

If you want to read/write a PMString then it could be done this way:
MyPMString.ReadWrite(stream);
If you really need a C string then you can grab one doing something like this:
MyPMString.GrabCString();
All this is documented in SDK I think.
