CS2: cannot use tools, program only allows hand tool?

Hey!
My CS2's been working fine for ages, but recently it's stopped letting me use the tools- I can select and change the settings for the different tools, but the cursor only comes up as a hand and I can only move around the canvas. Have I accidentally selected something that I shouldn't have, or has something gone wrong?
Any help would be great, thanks!

Cannot use any programs in Win 8.1

Hey Guys.
I own an Asus Vivobook S200E and recently i have not been able to use it properly.
Due to permissions i cannot install, uninstall, or run mostly all .exe files even though i am the main admin of the machine. I can still use all windows programs, firefox, and my anti-virus software (COMODO) but apart form that i cannot use anything else.
Java apps still work so it is nothing to do with java. i have run a malware and virus scan and they have come up with nothing. I really need to have admin back can anyone else help?!?

This issue can also be caused by corrupted user profile, I recommend you enable built-in administrator account and logon with it to check he results:

If the issue doesn't persist under built-in admin account, I suggest you create a new admin account to replace current one.

Cannot check the box "only allowed paired or home sharing remotes to control itunes"

I cannot connect my home sharing so I go to Edit>Preferences>Devices>check box only allowed paired or home sharing remotes to control itunes> Then click OK. After that I go to see whether the box is checked or not and I found that it is not checked. I don't know how to deal with it because every time I check the box, it's unchecked so cannot check box only allowed paired or home sharing remotes to control itunes. Is this the problem that causes the home sharing problem?

Hmmm, sounds weird. If someone else has experienced this maybe they will jump in here, but if not, you can always call Nike+. Surprisingly they answer their phone quite quickly.
Anyway, here's my shot at it:
I will assume you have downloaded the Nano updater ( http://www.apple.com/ipod/download/ ).
I would eject and disconnect the Nano (perhaps restarting my computer) and close iTunes, then reopen iTunes, reconnect and see if the box is available.

Cannot use bt vision_ not allowed to cancel

Last week I moved into my new rented flat with my children. Before moving a had used vrgin as my provider for phone , broadband and tv and had absolutely no problems.
Because my house is rented I was told I cannot have virgin installed but could use the communal ariel for freeview and the communal satalite dish. I decided that the bt vision service looked good so applied online for the service and had the box ect delivered on monday 4th July 2011.
When I plugged all the boxes in the broadband worked perfectly as did the phone but I found I could receive no tv through the vision box. I waited until the next day to test again but still no service so I rang bt to enquire and they said it was not activated yet and to call back tomorrow.
The next day - today (6th July) it still will not work so I sent an e mail to bt saying this and that I wished to cancel the service , they rang me back, but me on hold and forwarded me to another department, put me on hold , put me through to another department who then took my details , said I would need to speak to the technical department but as I had only just had the service installed was sure I would be able to cancell on this occasion. The technical department then put me on hold while he did something and then told me he would ring me back- No returned call.
I then called from my landline when I got home to be told in no uncertain terms that I could not cancel the service and was liable to pay for the full 18 months for a service I cannot use.
I am a single working mum who simply cannot afford to pay a large cancellation fee and also cannot afford another way of watching tv as well as this one.
I find bt's attitude both rude and unhelpful and suggest they give their staff training on giving mis information "( I'm sure they will let you cancel ")
I would seriously love to cancel the whole package and go back to virgin.

I hate to break this to you, but the same thing happened to us - we've now paid three months money for a service that has never worked.
The call centre is beyond useless - it's insulting, because they say they will contact you within 48 hours, and they never do. Then you are locked in a permanent loop like this:

Give details
Unplug everything
Replug everything
Still doesn't work
Promise of 48 hour call back
No call back
Repeat ad nauseam.....
If you ask to cancel, they threaten you with the cancellation charge
If you email them, you get automated responses from 'people' with fake names
If you speak to an 'expert' on the forums and follow their advice, as soon as they're stumped they stop responding
If you ask to speak to a manager, none are available
If you ask them to escalate things, they can't

My printer will not recognize greeting card stock and I cannot use card programs.

I have changed all of the necessary thing when loading card stock into the printer, and yet the printer asks for paper. It doesn't recognize the card stock and I cannot use any of my greeting card programs.

You are not alone with this issue. I wish that HP would accept the fact that printing with card stock is an issue that needs to be addressed and corrected. My Officejet 8600 Plus will not pick up nor print any weight (67 or 110) card stock. It is listed in their specifications that it will! Neither Best Buy or Office Depot could get their display units to print card stock either. Under troubleshooting they list a series of steps that do not apply to the basic problem. When trying to print to card stock you receive a "Out of Paper" error message. It is a known issue and not being addressed. I just posted this same problem so will see what comes back and stay in touch.

Cannot use email program in ANGEL a CMS program. Can I switch back to the older version o Firefox?

I teach with a CMS program called ANGEL which is produced by BlackBoard. When I try to email students using ANGEL email I get an error message about script

I desparately need to use this program. Can I please go back to the older version of Firefox. I believe the problem is with ANGEL, but I have no choice in that as the university sponsors it. Please Help!

Cannot use tools in CS2

I have had to reinstall windows twice in the last month so I have had the fun of reinstalling many other things as well. I just reinstalled CS2 and when I open the program I can start a new file but when I click on any tool all I get is the hand icon on my screen. I reset preferences and made sure I registered again, anyone have any suggestions? Thanks
p.s. System info: Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit, PS CS2

A hand icon may indicate a sticking Space bar.
How did you reset preferences?
You know CS2 is not oficially supported in Vista 64.

And that means what? You have not provided any relevant technical information nor even told us what program(s) you are referring to, so nobody can know anything.

Cannot use tool because the target channel is hidden

When I return to a previouse Layer and attempt to alter the Layer I receive the same Error "Could not use Blah Blah because the target channel is hidden. This happens with Erasure, Selection too;, Move tool, Pencil, Paintbrush and so on. What is happening and what do I do to fix it?

Are the composite Channels selected (Red, Green and Blue for RGB, Cyan, Magenty, Yellow and Black for CMYK etc.)?
Could you please post a screenshot with the pertinent Panels visible?

Cannot use my programs

I've just got my iphone exchanged for a new one. I have restored the software from my previous iphone. Everything is as it should be apart from my programs, they are not transferred to the phone. I have tried to download them again from Itunes but it does not help. I have now tried to download them from the phone, but it results only in that the program will not open.
I am a little bit irritated. is there anyone who knows what is wrong and what I should do?

The best I can do is wager a possible scenario that someone else might shoot down entirely. It is possible that there is some issue with the app DRM, such that the phone no longer thinks you have a right to run a specific program. I don't really know how or where the phone stores its credentials, however, I've been in a situation where opening apps on my iPhone get as far as the splash screen and then immediately terminate. I remedied this (at least temporarily) by downloading a new app, any app, in my case just a free random app that I never downloaded before. I then had access to all my other apps again.
You might try something like deauthorizing/authorizing iTunes. It's under the "Store" menu on the top bar. Some mysterious combination of syncing and Apple voodoo might get things working thereafter. I don't know if there are any consequences to deauthorization/reauthorization. My understanding was that nothing was deleted but you would not be able to play back DRMed music/video while deauthorized, and would regain those rights once authorized.

Max OSX10.10.3, Adobe acrobat/document cloud goes into "application not responding mode" right away. must force quit. cannot use the program. Why?

Have never been able to get this application, adobe acrobat dc, to work on my mac. Constantly goes into "application not responding" mode. Happen to anyone else and know how to fix it?

Verify if Protected View and Enhanced Security are Off. Go to Acrobat-> Preferences -> Security (Enhanced):
Also having too many fonts active can hurt the performance of any application.

"Run only allowed" GP prevents zen apps

I've just started to experiment with restricted Windows Group Policies an ZMC 10.3. I cant seem to get any restricted applications to run from the nal window like they did in zen 4, 6, or 7 while using the "Run only allowed windows applications" group policy setting.
Before I only had to allow nalwin.exe and nalshell.dll but this no longer appears to work. Other people have posted this issue with versions as new as 10.2 and the "fix" was to allow nalshell.dll but I've already done that.
What am I missing? I dont actually get the usual restriction message like if i tried to run an program from the start menu that isnt allowed, but instead zen give an unspecified error. The apps run just fine using a GP that doesnt have "run only allowed" set.
Any help is appreciated.

I think it would be difficult to get a bug created that said:
"ZCM honors Windows Security Policies"
It was certainly never the intentional design to allow this.
Rogue Process Mgmt was the tool to perform the feature you are
describing in lieu of using the Microsoft GPO.
I'm not aware of any products that do or would advertise this feature,
since a security patch could fix it at any time.
The best bet would be to use file rights to actually control what user's
launch in combination with limiting where programs can be launched.
(Such as from %ProgramFiles%, etc..)

I have Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard and I had to reload it on my computer due to my hard drive crashing. Now I can only open and view PDF's and I cannot edit them as I could before such as using Tools Comment

I have Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard and I had to reload it on my computer due to my hard drive crashing. Now I can only open and view PDF’s and I cannot edit them as I could before such as using Tools>Comment&Markup or Tools>Advanced Editing>TouchUp Text Tool. All the functions are greyed out. Please advise.

What's your OS? Acrobat 8 is not compatible with any modern OS.
