CS2 crash making web pages
Whenever I launch the automated aspect for making web pages of photographs CS2 crashes. I have used this before using Tiger but with Leopard now it is a non performer. Any ideas
Have You trashed the prefs yet or tried starting from a new user?

Software for making web pages?
Hi,
I'm sure this is probably posted in the wrong place so if someone will let me know where it should properly be posted, I'd gladly delete this and post somewhere else.
I plan on writing an ebook by September 1 (hopefully). Which means I will need to:
1. Create a webpage with some type of program for use with an iMac
2. Create pdf document that can be sold from the web in ebook form
3. Eventually I would like to add video and audio to the sales page (if that ever gets made, LOL. I'm a total non tech type person).
So, I don't know if I can use anything on my iMac to create the audio or video, or even what software I would purchase. I'm an educator so that means I could get some hefty discounts on some Adobe products but not sure which ones would be good to begin with for creating a web page (other than the one with iWeb).
While I certainly don't expect responses on all this, I guess my priority at this point would be numbers one and two.

P.S. Does anyone know if after you have not been on the forum for a while if you have to change your username, etc. to use the forum? For some reason or another I had to do that in order to get on even though I was logged in to my mac account.Just a word on the PDF point: Acrobat Pro can do a great deal. If you need it, you need it. If you don't need it, though, use something else. I say this not just because Acrobat Pro is expensive, although it is, but because it is also a complete pain. In, of course, my opinion.
I have and use Acrobat Pro but I only use it when nothing else will do what I need. Otherwise, I use something else. Like I say, it depends on what you need.
At the simplest level, you can create a PDF by "printing to PDF" from pretty much any application on your Mac. This is likely not enough for your needs but it is worth bearing in mind if you are not already aware of it.
I've never created an ebook so I don't know what's involved and Acrobat Pro may be what you need. Just don't assume that because it can apparently "do it all" that it is the best choice for your needs. Even if expense is of no importance, that may not be the case.

Safari is repeatedly crashing and web pages are not responding
So, my safari is constantly freezing (the spinning wheel of death shows up) and then I'm told that the web-pages are not responding and I need to force reload them all. And this can repeat a number of times; a full system re-start is the only fix.
Any fixes, solutions would be appreciated.
I'm using Safari 5.1.9; and Mac OS X 10.6.8MIght be third party plugins causing Safari to freeze.
Try the troubleshooting help here > Safari: Unsupported third-party add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues
And see if you can do this before Safari freezes.
Launch Safari and immediately press Command , (comma) to open the Safari Preferences pane then select the Extentions tab.
If there are any extensions installed, turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test. If Safari doesn't freeze, uninstall one extension at a time, quit and relaunch Safari to test again. -

Is there a faster way to make the downloading of the graphics for the
webpages you create in 6? I am using the one where it slides down to the
left and a Photo comes to the screen and you use the left and right arrows

Making web page widget in tiger
A friend of mine was wanting to make a widget that updated from a website. I think he saw the stuff in leaopard that will do that. Anyway I was wondering how one would do it in tiger. Would you have to know code? that kind of thing. Thanks.

I have the 60 day trial of .mac can I publish a web page, nothing is happen
I thought I could try the .mac account free for 60 days and get to publish my web page, it gives the directions but says I have nothing in my pictures. I do, and I've tried adding more but nothing is working. I think maybe I just can't do it unless I pay. Any ideas??

So that's why I said iDisk, apparently that is included in my .mac...( sorry I'm so slow, but this is still all just words to me at this point. )
Well, iDisk is not iWeb and will probably not get my web page created...right? And, I can't even get into iDisk because it keeps saying I have the wrong username and/or passcode and "that it will be sent in the clear" whatever that means. (Yikes for this much time lost it would be cheaper to pay someone. ) Anyhow, was that incorrect info??? and why can't I open my iDisk....and thirdly, any way to get a free trial of iWeb? since their is no way to create a site without it. -
Firefox has been randomly crashing for two days. I always have google and facebook running. Firefox seems to crash at random times - no specific web page loading. My Firefox is up to date.

When firefox crashes, or if it hangs and I have to kill it, then when I go to restart it, it tries to re-open all pages that were open at the time it crashed or was killed. This is incredibly annoying, especially if one of the visited pages caused the crash or hang. It is also really annoying if some of the web pages happened to require passwords to log in, from multiple sites. In my case this occurs as I am frequently logged into multiple online educational web sites like ucsc-extension.edu and berkleemusic.com. In the login case you get multiple login prompt pop-ups with no way to correlate which pop-up goes with which web page. If there are a lot of them then it's a hopeless mess. This behavior is something that I never ever want and it infuriates me that not only is it the default behavior, it is something that there seems to be no way to turn off, at least via the configuration menus. Am I wrong? Is there a way to turn this off? If not can somebody either make it configurable or get rid if this fantastically idiotic behavior?
I suspect there's a command line option for this but on my Mac (or most systems these days) it's sort of "unnatural" to be starting programs like browsers by means other than a provided program start-up icon, which gives you no choice about the command line options.
Besides, as a default behavior the current behavior is something I cannot conceive of ever wanting. I would rather have a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.

I updated to os x 10.8.5 today and now I cannot publish changes to my web page through iweb. iweb crashes every time I try to publish
First do the following:
1 - delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your
User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iWeb's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder (Snow Leopard and Earlier).
NOTE: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
Next, in Lion and Mountain Lion the Home/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and press the Return key - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
To open your domain file in Lion or Mountain Lion or to switch between multiple domain files Cyclosaurus has provided us with the following script that you can make into an Applescript application with Script Editor. You can download an already compiled version with this link: iWeb Switch Domain.
Just launch the application, find and select the domain file in your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder that you want to open and it will open with iWeb. It modifies the iWeb preference file each time it's launched so one can switch between domain files.
WARNING: iWeb Switch Domain will overwrite an existing Domain.sites2 file if you select to create a new domain in the same folder. So rename your domain files once they've been created to something other than the default name.

Acrobat crashes when creating a PDF from a web page
Whenever I ask Acrobat to create a PDF from a web page, it crashes halfway through the process. Here is an example from the BBC:-

Printing to PDF from the browser does not produce an accurate document. The font is too big, and most of the pictures do not appear.
I use Acrobat X Pro version 10.1.4.
This is a PC problem. On the Mac it works.The problem I mentioned is peculiar to Acrobat 10 and also to my PC. On a Mac I can create PDF's from webpages normally.
I also notice that when printing to PDF from Opera only the first page comes out. (Using Firefox all pages are printed to PDF.) -
Firefox crashes when trying to send a web page link.
The questions says it all. I've tried three times to send a web page link and each time I got a Microsoft error message and Firefox closed.
I filed a bug for this crash as it has been reported on Mac machines and all of the comments are either printing a webpage or printing a print button.
If I may ask are you using File > Print or is there also a print icon?
Another question for investigation is do you have print_printer?
