photoshop cs2 download on adobe website does not work - the serial number given isn't recognised when you enter it when trying to install. the live chat at adobe cannot help and suggested that I may find the answer here. Can anyone help with this?

Adobe has decommissioned the CS2 activation servers, so your old serial number is no longer usable.
If you download the special non-activating version of CS2 that Adobe has made available to licensed CS2 users, you MUST also use the new serial number provided by Adobe on that download page:
    https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/entitlement/index.cfm?e=cs2_downloads
That S/N does work.  I double checked.

  • I need to reinstall CS2, downloaded from Adobe but when run get serial nr missing, even if I use the one Adobe is providing

Lost my laptop, and now I need to reinstall CS2, in order to install CS3. I downloaded CS2 from Adobe site but when I run the program I get an error message: Your Adobe Photoshop user name, or serial number is missing or invalid. The application cannot continue. I was using the serial nr that Adobe is providing on the CS2 download page.
    Any help much appreaciated

You are on Windows 2000, you do not have a "Firefox" button, and should consider yourself to be fortunate in that you still have menus and don't have to do anything to get the menus back instead of the "Firefox" button. (The same applies to Windows XP users).
Use the "File" menu to get to Import. You are not on Windows 7 or Vista, and don't have to put up with the nonsense added for Aero.
If you want the "Firefox" button you can get it with View -> toolbars -> (uncheck) Menu Bar. The menu bar and the "Firefox" button were supposed to be mutually exclusive (which is impossible in some cases without being incompatible).
Once you are using the "Firefox" button ...
Use the "Alt" key to view the menu bar (temporarily) containing File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools, and Help. On Windows 7 and Vista, the menu bar was hidden by default in Firefox 4 and above. These menu items are more or less available under the "Firefox" button which has the most used of the built-in Firefox menu items available in a different format.
To get back to having menus again. "Firefox" button -> Options (second column) -> (check) Menu Bar
You can make '''Firefox 7.0.1''' look like Firefox 3.6.*, see numbered '''items 1-10''' in the following topic [http://dmcritchie.mvps.org/firefox/firefox-problems.htm#fx4interface Fix Firefox 4.0 toolbar user interface, problems (Make Firefox 4.0 thru 8.0, look like 3.6)]. • CS2 download issues

    Hi, All,
I am trying to install my old version of CS2 on a new laptop.  When I head to the download site (Adobe - CS2 Downloads), I am prompted to enter my e-mail and password for Adobe.  Upon doing this, a new screen loads (see screenshot), and then the page refreshes to bring me back to the login page.  I can keep entering my user / pass as many times as I want, and still nothing loads after I sign in.
Additionally, if I sign in and head to that page, my browser will basically get stuck in an infinite loop and keep refreshing.  I have tried this with Firefox, IE, and chrome.  Any suggestions?
    Many thanks!
Screenshot:  You can see that I am logged in, but this page will basically keep refreshing itself and never actually load.

I ended up creating a new Adobe ID and was able to get the download links to appear.  To be honest, I'm not really sure what the issue was with my old Adobe ID (I also tried all of your suggestions), but at least something worked!
I do appreciate you taking the time to offer suggestions!

  • CS2 download into windows 8.1

what are the requirements for a CS2 download into windows 8.1 ?

I assume you're referring to the free CS2 downloads Adobe has available, right? It would depend on how well you can get 8.1 to emulate XP. My guess is that the software wouldn't run very well. I know old very Macromedia programs are notorious for blowing up on Windows 7.

  • Error 413 on the CS2 downloads page

There is a error 413 header lenght too long on the CS2 downloads listed on this page: http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/creative-suite-2-activation-end-life.htm l

that occurs with some browsers (eg, ff) especially for forum contributors because they can get so many adobe.com cookies.
    try clearing your adobe.com cookies.

  • Photoshop cs2 download

I tried downloading photoshop cs2 from adobe but it won't install. It keeps saying "The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacture for assistant."
This is a free download that was provided by adobe on accident (supposedly). It works on my windows laptop so I assume it has something to do with apple? How can I get it to work?

.exe files require Windows to be installed on your Mac:
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-2741
CS2 I also believe may be too old to run on your Mac.  See this page to find out what operating systems it works with:
    http://www.roaringapps.com/
If it says it is not compatible with 10.7 or later, you can also install 10.6 Server on your Mac following these directions to use CS2 for the Mac:
Rosetta/PowerPC Applications and Lion and above
But it has to be for the Mac to run on your computer without using Windows.

  • Photoshop won't open after CS2 download.

I just reinstalled CS2 from the download and Illustrator and In Design are fine but Photoshop is called "Space Monkey" when the opening credits run and it is opening, and then a window says "username, serial number or company name is missing or invalid". Why did some programs download correctly, but not photoshop?

Please reference Error: "...user name, organization, or serial number is missing or invalid..." when you start Photoshop Elements 4.0 (on MacOS)- http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/error-user-name-organization-or.html which may allow you to resolve your current difficulties.  As for Space Monkey that was the products code name.  I am unsure if this document will allow you to resolve the splash screen issue or not.
Also be aware that you do need Rosetta support to have the possibility of this working on a newer computer.  I would not recommend upgrading to 10.7 or 10.8 as support has been discontinued by Apple.  I believe you currently have Rosetta available to you in 10.6 because you have likely upgraded the OS from 10.5 or earlier on your current computer.

  • Illustrator CS2 Download

I am posting here in hopes that somone will have the ability to assist me.  A kind individual within my organization has thoughtfully taken our only copy of Illustrator CS2 for their very own.  I know, my fault for not paying enough attention.  Thinking I would simply contact Adobe for a download location so I can install the software on some new machines, I was not too worried.  Well, that was a mistake.  Adobe is not providing me with any help at all...despite knowing that I have proper licensing, they steadfastly refuse to assist me.  One operator even went so far as to hang up on me.  Everyone at Adobe claims that the software is no longer available.  This, of course is malarkey.  I can freely download any trial version of Illustrator dating back to the year 2000.  Why a company would  offer ancient trial version of their software for download and not support their paying customers is beyond me.
If there is anyone out there who knows how I can obtain a copy of Illustrator CS2 (WIN XP version)  I would be most grateful.  I do not need anything illegal.  I do not want any other version nor do I have any plans on upgrading yet.  Since the unfriendly folks at Adobe refuse to offer any form of assistance, I am asking the community of real people for help.
Thank you in advance for any assistance provided,
    Mike

    shunithD,
Thanks for the tip.  Unfortunately I have already tried to download and register those trial versions with my active license.  I went to the Adobe FTP site...ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/illustrator/win/ .  You cannot register them.  They expire after 30 days and the kind folks at Adobe were unable (unwilling) to provide any registration assistance.
    Mike

  • How do I install Acrobat from the CS2 downloads

Jeff,  thanks a lot. Now it is very clear.
I'd like to install Acrobat Pro 8,  however, I think Acrobat Pro 7 is included in the download of CS2 Premium? During the installation of CS2, may I manually select the programs that I want to install (of course that would mean not selecting Acrobat Pro 7) and afterwards install Acrobat Pro 8 separately?

Jeff,  I followed the steps given at http://helpx.adobe.com/en/x-productkb/policy-pricing/creative-suite-2-activation-end-life. html . I uninstalled my Acrobat 7 first (and also CS2 which I’ve now successfully installed !..however, that is not the case with Acrobat Pro). I downloaded Acrobat Pro 8 and installed it separately. After a new start, the Acrobat Pro 8 program opened and immediately got hung up before I could even open a file. There were no other apps open at the time.  Repeatedly I tried to launch it, but it hangs up indefinitely each time. So I decided to uninstall it and start the whole installation process over again. About halfway into the deinstallation, it again hung and I was forced to end the process with Windows-Task-Manager. Now I'm in limbo: I can't launch the program, the Program folder shows that Acrobat Pro 8 is still physically on my PC in C:\Programme\Adobe\Acrobat 8.0 , and when I try to uninstall it again, I get a Windows Installer message popping up: “This action is only permitted for products that are at the moment installed”. My question is: should I try again to download and install it so that it writes over any of the existing Acrobat files in the Progamme binder?? Can you please help me?

  • How to Install CS2 Downloaded Upgrade on New Win7 Machine

Hi, I have a purchased and downloaded version of CS2 I want to install on my new Win7 computer.  However I do not see an installer in the package.
    How do I install this?

    There is no setup.exe.
In the original downloaded upgrade to CS2 from CS1, there are live applications that can be launched.  However, I'm afraid at this point I may have some value in the registry that will not allow me to continue.  I have no idea why.
Like I said before, when I try to launch CS2, I get the error that my "user name, organization or serial number is invalid.  The application cannot continue and must exit."  I am not given an opportunity to input this information.
I have even installed this as recently as last year on a laptop from the same media with no problems, however I must have done something differently this time and it isn't working.
I'm afraid at this point I am either going to have to start from scratch and re-install Windows, or fork out for the upgrade to CS5, which I don't really need.
That is unless I can locate whatever registry file it is that needs to be modified...   I am not trying to do anything nefarious, only trying to use the software I bought and paid for.

  • Language swap for CS2 download

    Hello,
some time ago while I did my studies in the US I bought an EN version of Creative Suite 2. Now back in Germany I am beginning to want the German version on my screen .
There is this very well known site where you can download all the CS2 files because of the server issue (here the DE-site):
    http://www.adobe.com/de/downloads/cs2_downloads/
In the text Adobe says I am only allowed to download the files if I have a license. Indeed I have one but an EN, not DE.
On the Adobe sites I read that I am allowed to swap my language within the same product without problem and costs.
    1) So does this mean that I am also allowed to download the DE files in the link above?
    2) If not: How do I do the language swap for CS2, is this possible anymore, as it is an old product?
    Kind regards,
    Peter

hello and thank you for the first answer. Yes, perhaps it works. But I am not wondering if it works technically (Adobe put the files and a serial to that page, so you don't need activation anymore). I asked because of the legal concerns. As you write the serials are language specific I think that it is legally not possible. Perhaps Adobe reads this and thinks about its disclaimers on these pages and if my case is ok (regarding language swap).
I just want to make it right . In case of doubts I continue in EN or change to CS3.
